This purchase was a gift for my father in law. Very easy set up, great picture. As others have noted, a quality sound bar is recommended.

Very happy with this Sony 70' 4K HD TV purchase. My Xfinity tech set it all up with a 4k cable box and picture is great/amazing, truly sharp and vivid, terrific, crisp sound with sound bar and sub woofer. It's been a positive experience thus far, nothing negative to say. This is my second Sony TV in over 15 years. My opinion is that Sony is a quality product that's been around for years and that says a lot right there. I'm no expert of electronics but I've been very happy with all Sony products I have. Hope this helps someone to decide on a purchase on a Sony.

My old tv broke, and I decided to get this one. It's a great value for size and has everything the other TVs have. I specifically got this for HDR gaming and its awesome.

Phenomenal picture quality for the money. Paired it up with a brand new blue ray player, the ultra HD 4k movies are a perfect combination. I highly recommend this TV. I am not disappointed.

I needed a bigger TV for my living room and this is a perfect upgrade for the room. Great picture quality and love the fact that you can add more apps to the TV.

I purchased my Sony television within the last sixty days and the picture color and quality is already having intermittent problems. The picture color defaults to a bright purple or blue tone an distorted picture.

I like my tv. It is big and has a bigger picture than I’ve ever had, but it has some problems i bought it at a 1000 dollars and it was the best price on a 70 inch at the time. But a few months later prices went down and now you can get a better tv for less money and way more features. You can get one for around 600$. The tv that I got I don’t think they even sell anymore.

I am really enjoying my new tv and feel I got a great deal on it. I would recommend this tv to anyone looking to buy a 70” tv.

There are horrible lines at the bottom of the screen--not happy and request a replacement ASAP!

I was searching for a good 70" 4K TV for use in my family room. I already have several large 4K sets throughout the house and would say that I am fairly current on the use of new home technology (but, would not consider myself an "expert"). I used a very simple test on what would be the ideal TV for the intended use - if after looking at the screen with a "real" non-in-store optimized demo running on it that my wife thought it looked good, then it would be good! I recently bought another 70" 4K set for another room in the house and the quality of the display was a far less clear when I brought it home and plugged it up to my Cox HD cable box. Yes, I know that Cox currently doesn't support 4K so I also accessed 4K on Netflix. The quality was a bit better. I brought the Sony home, connected it up but kept the packaging nearby just in case it did not pass the spouse test. This is not intended to be a sexist evaluation in any way - her judgment for visual quality is far better than mine. The image passed with flying colors! I had replaced an eight year old 72" Mitsubishi 1080 TV with this Sony and although I thought the Mistu was pretty good, compared to the Sony, it was as I was watching TV through a fogged up scuba mask. The image on non-4K HD Cox channels such as HBOHD and CInemaxHD is excellent. However, as much I would to give it 5 out of 5 stars for the review, the sound quality is just OK - it is fine for watching news and such but you need an additional soundbar or stereo for the full movie cinema experience. Other than that, very easy to set up and use.

Purchased this TV as I generally stick with Sony and Black Friday Best Buy Elite Preview sale price was too good to ignore. Opted for the ship to home option and all went well although they were a tad late :( The TV - So I am overall happy with the picture connections and overall performance of the TV. The Smart TV options work fast both via wired (ethernet) and wireless via built in adapter. Had purchased a 60" Bravia less than two years ago (from Best Buy as well) and ended getting a nice black spot (looks like weak pixels) on top left of screen so this was to replace. To my surprise the 70" was a HUGE difference the 4K now brings up a whole new Menu in Netflix (of 4K movies etc.) and now Amazon Prime is includes as was not previously. Pro's - Great picture, lightweight, great looking, great sound, fast network features BONUS: Plays about every format I throw at it via USB flash drive.
