I previously owned a Samsung Q900T. Best Buy's excellent return policy allowed a super easy return. I've now been able to compare these two TVs in the same environment. The Q900T was returned due to significant banding and local dimming issues. That TV had major highlight clipping and crushed blacks. So far I'm very happy with the Z8H. Colors are natural, deep but realistic. There are no unnatural color casts. There are no issues of banding and the local dimming performance is excellent - no weird spotlighting or random dimming artifacts. Highlight performance is excellent. Specular highlights are intense and focused without blooming or bleed. Blacks are nice and deep. The brightness is incredible - HDR performance in high quality 4K movies is awesome. I've never seen anything like it. 1080p performance is solid - no significant softening or mushiness. Motion performance is on point. Sound is very good - good localization on the screening and it can get decently loud. Overall build quality is to a very high degree - it's a nice looking TV Overall, I don't see any major faults with this TV for my use - which is primarily movies. It's expensive, but nothing else provides the colors, blacks, highlights and resolution that this TV gets you.

Beautiful picture quality. Very bright and stunning color. The 8k let's you get very close without the picture breaking down. Sound quality is excellent for TV and can be used as a center channel. The only minus is the blacks can't get to oled levels but look pretty good . Also Sony dropped 3D from its sets . Very expensive.
