Aim controller Still great in 2020-2021

I purchased the Firewall Zero Hour PlayStation VR aim controller bundle new. The aim controller works great. The game Firewall Zero Hour that is in the bundle has been on many of the top/best multiplayer PlayStation VR game lists out there up to this point in early 2021.
More on the controller:
The PlayStation VR aim controller is to be used with the PlayStation 4 camera for tracking. When the controller is powered on the sphere on the end of the controller lights up to be tracked by the camera. As of the release of the PlayStation 5 there is an adapter that can be gotten separately and used to make the PlayStation 4 camera work with the PlayStation 5 for supported PS4 VR games.

Farpoint was AMAZING!!! with the aim controller. It’s exactly what I bought it for at a good price. Any new controller is $60ish anyway. Could have been a lot more.

I bought the bundle (AIM controller + Firewall Zero Hour). It has been a very unproductive weekend since then. In terms of homework that is. This game is very addictive.
For starters, the AIM controller is very well adapted for this game and adds greatly to the immersion. Once you don the headset and are in game you may start moving physically while turning with your weapon drawn. I had to train myself not to do that. You can shut an eye and look down the sites and take out Tangos. You can level up and acquire laser sites and paint Tangos. You can put your hand around the corner and shoot blindly and take out Tangos. This game is really good.
When you start, there are default loadouts and characters. Leveling up unlocks more characters and earns you "in game currency" that can be used to purchase more weapons and add-ons. You can buddy up with friends easily by adding them through invitations in game (top right of your screen next to your PSN avatar). You can play solo training and earn xp, Player vs AI co-op or go to the ranked matches in the "Public" arena.
As of this review, there is only 1 game mode because the creators do not want to thin out the population. It entails hacking a laptop (essentially search and destroy). One team defends the laptop and the other team attacks.
Cons: Tracking issues occur occasionally. Give the AIM a good shake (you can also play with the dualshock 4 but I have not tried it).
If the Host leaves before the game is over you lose all XP earned. After each round, you go back to the room to fix loadouts and characters (not really a con in my opinion but time consuming for some).
You have to grind a bit to level up. This is a con for some. Especially when you meet "week one" players that have all the gadgets. Good team work is required in cases like this.
Overall, I have not had this much fun on a FPS in a long while. PSVR makes it so immersive and the creators mechanics are on point. The gameplay mechanics really make this game.

I really like this game and would recommend it if you have a PSVR. For people who use reviews to learn what the game is all about, let me explain. No, there is too much, let me sum up.
At time of this review, since the game is still less than a week old, there is still only one game mode: online 4v4 attacking or defending a laptop, 5 minute rounds. If you die, you don’t technically respawn. However, you remain in the game by cycling through the map’s security cameras. I really like this! You stay in the game and can give the surviving players directions and locations of the laptop, enemies, etc. You stay actively involved with the game if you’re communicating with your team members. Being dead can sometimes be more helpful than being alive!
You don’t NEED to talk during the matches, but the best experiences I have had are when I’m talking with the guys on my team in the lobby and then during the rounds. It’s really fun and you build a sense of loyalty and teamwork if you’re talking. It has also been a much better atmosphere than other games, so don’t come into it with a bad attitude! This community is better than other toxic online games.
I believe the developers already issued a patch for some initial complaints and problems, so it’s nice to see they didn’t just launch the game and run away. Hopefully as the player base grows, the game will get continually improved and more game modes will be added. It’s not a perfect game, but because this game is basically a pioneer in this genre, I think they’ll pay close attention to the feedback.
I haven’t played it with the DualShock controller, and I don’t intend to. It seems like it would be awkward and the aim controller already works great. I’m glad I got the bundle since I didn’t already have the aim controller. It tracks great and the controls are good once you get used to them.
I’d hate to see this game get bad reviews if people buy it and expect a campaign or deathmatch modes or don’t understand what the game actually is at this stage. For what this game offers, it is a lot of fun and is an awesome game. I’m definitely glad I got it!

Great game with an outstanding controller. Using the aim controller puts you in the middle of a gunfight. From viewing your chosen weapon in any angle to aiming down the sights, the feeling of immersion is unparalleled. Tracking can be a little wonky at times which is why I give it only 4 stars and not 5. But, overall, it's a great game!

The controller (gun) has all the on board controls you need. It's a fun and different way to experience VR games. I hope they make more games you can use this gun. It's a neat idea, a little clunky, but worth the experience...

This Aim Controller for the PSVR is so awesome to use in the games that are compatible!! It gives you a completely different/better experience while using the VR system!! Its really accurate when using the ADS (aim down sight) in whatever game your playing and is very lightweight.
As for the the game, Horizon Zero Hour, itself, it's so awesome/fun to play. Between using the Aim Controller and the VR it literallymakes you feel like your one in the game playing! It's so awesome/fun to use!!
I'd highly recommend this bundle to anyone and everyone who likes playing 1st person shooter games and has a PSVR system!
And Best Buy by far had the best price for the bundle, that could find, then anyone else at the time when i purchased it.

Love the aim controller. Makes games like borderlands vr playable in a much different way. Sometimes the tracking is slightly off but the psvr does have its quirks. Overall I like it and would buy again.

So finally got my copy and aim controller today and it was well worth the money. This is easily one of the best VR games in my collection and I believe it’s going to set the bar high while getting new people interested in vr. The graphics are beautiful(for vr standard) the gameplay is fun, and one you find the sweet spot for your camera distance the aim controller works wonderfully. In my first night of playing my cousin and I couldn’t put it down and at 4 am I had to quit because I needed some sleep. First night and I’ve already formed a squad of guys all with mics and all very decent players. I’m Looking forward to the future of this game and the VR road ahead.

I’ve only gone through the 1st mission so far, but this game is a welcome distraction from the COVID-19. PSVR is well worth the money because it’s like going to an arcade/mini-amusement park in your own home. The aim controller takes 1st person gameplay to the next level and IMO is a must have for PSVR!

The aim controller is a must have for any Playtstation VR gamer that enjoys FPS. The controller feels great in your hands and has excellent tracking, heightening any experience where you are using a double handed gun... The combination of the aim controller and Firewall is a match made in heaven. Get ready to put multiple, multiple hours into this game shooting your way through various maps in public contracts

OVERALL: incredible technology.
GAME: firewall is to task-focused, technically solid, but I am NOT really a fan.
Instead, a plug for additional software. FARPOINT for an extra $20 is the big seller for me (which makes this about a $100 investment at retail price). Too bad the Farpoint bundle isn't available anymore. The Farpoint challenge modes are incredible, immediate, immersive, and intense. Story mode is fun. I am completely awful at it, but that's the awesome part about video games, death doesn't hurt!
HARDWARE: the gun has solid build, good 'heft.' The tracking is spot on- fast and accurate. With buttons and thumb sticks duplicate all the major controls on the standard PS4 dualshock controller.
One transient problem I had was my projector shining into the camera was throwing off the sensor and tracking would creep, but i shut it off the projector (didn't need it cuz of the PSVR headset), and tracking is perfect.

This have is awesome. It's like your playing counter strike but it feels like your actually there. The soon controller is amazing and compatible with other cool games such as doom and borderlands 2. You feel really cool like you are shooting the gun in real life. It's a good deal because the controller along is $60 I think and the game is $40

This game is amazing!!! The VR makes you feel like you are inside the game, to the point that your heart races as you peak around corners looking for the bad guys... the controller is ergonomic, comfortable, and you forget that you are holding a controller instead of your characters weapon. I wish I had more time in the day... Would def buy again.

Great bundle, Firewall is a fantastic game to get into with PSVR (Think Rainbow Six type gameplay with the AIM controller) but there are minor things to consider before making the investment into the AIM controller...
- There is a VERY selected number of games that utilize the AIM controller (I'm talking a little over 20 but that's small with the PSVR catalog of around 500 games). That being said most of the games are pretty good that you do get. Firewall is obviously a staple but Farpoint, Borderlands VR, Arizona Sunshine, DOOM VFR are all very fun solid games to play.
- Controller drift has been an ongoing issue and it feels like you have to make a lot of special accommodations to have it working right without drift (youtube has a lot of videos on it). I still get a little drift even with the accommodations and just have to live with it. Tracking is not always on point and it can get very frustrating mid game. But I've heard from others that they don't have the issue so I guess it's just temperamental.
LUCKILY the PSVR will work with the PS5 so it still has value even if you're upgrading. I'm hoping that we'll get more quality AIM games soon but they seem far and few between.
TLDR: Fun with the select amount of games it works with but has issues with tracking sometimes.

The AIM controller, when set up properly, definitely adds to the immersion in VR games. It was a bit hard to get the tracking working properly for my setup, as the camera needed to be higher than my setup would initially support. However, once working it really felt good. Unlike the Move Controllers, it is a ground up VR controller, and it shows. Overall, a good purchase if you play supported games.

This is my first serious entry into VR. I think I made a mistake with the PSVR as opposed to say the Oculus Rift. The console itself is nearing the end of its life and the PSVR, as VR headsets go, is a notch below the competition in some respects. The system uses a camera to track the headset and controllers in space. This means you can't face away from the camera. So you can't shoot at things behind you. This is one of the shortcomings of the PSVR relative to some of the other VR systems. There are a few others but since I don't have first hand experience using them I can't explain them in detail. This Aim controller is necessary if you want to play certain games with the PSVR. And it is better to use on some other games where you might use the standard controller. I have no complaint about the Aim controller but tracking is not perfect. You may be holding the controller one way but your headset depicts it at a different angle. All in all I would say if you are a fan of PSVR games then you probably already own this and if you don't it might be worth buying.

The PS VR is honestly the only way to play FPS games. This game is quite entertaining. Be careful with motion sickness if you are easily nauseated. There are devices and medicine you can use to reduce the queasiness to enjoy this game.
