Camera takes great photos, easy to use, not too bulky. Reasonably priced.

This camera is a two thumbs up. It's a must have for great quality. It takes flawless pictures, especially seflies. You won't need to play with filters, this camera does it all for you in a snap!

It's been a long time since I have had a camera other than my smartphone. Back then nothing was automatic. I made this purchase while I was on vacation to take pictures on a whale watch. I also purchased the 55-210mm telephoto lens. I literally opened the box, charged the battery, attached the lens, and left for the whale watch. In auto mode the camera was easy to operate. It took me a while to figure out how to make the camera auto focus when I zoomed in. Once I figured it out, it was pretty easy. I used the video mode as well to try and capture some of the quick movement. Overall I was very happy. The camera is very light and compact. The only problem I had was that my thumb would sometimes change the settings. The first time it happened, I didn't know what was wrong or how to fix it. I ended up with a lot of overexposed photos that were difficult to fix. I have since done this a few more times but now recognize the issue and can fix the problem. It is irritating that the controls are positioned in such a way that makes the settings change so easily. I will look to reposition my grip or see if there is a way to lock the function to help mitigate the problem. One I practice a bit and get used to the functionality, I am sure I will be even happier. Overall I am glad I made the purchase. The compact design and light weight made it comfortable to carry all day. The pictures were clear, crisp, and beautiful. I recommend this inexpensive point and shoot camera option for the amateur that would like to enhance their picture taking ability above and beyond what the smart phone provides.

This camera is great for what its worth. Price is affordable. It came with a great deal as well! I love being able to see myself before i take a selfie shot. I also like that it can be connected to your phone via wifi (i.e. send pics or vids to your phone, and even control the camera/video taking using your phone). Only downside i see with this camera is the battery life. The battery itself is pretty good when taking pictures. Battery life when recording a video is pretty good too as long as it doesnt exceed 20 mins. In my experience, i was only able to record 20 mins worth video, and it suggested me to turn it off for a while so the battery won't over heat. Its a great camera all in all. I just thought that it should be able to handle long minutes of video taking rather than sessions of videos lasting somewhere between 15-20 mins only.

Wow what a great camera! A drastic improvement from our previous camera. Easy to set up and use quickly. The picture quality is amazing! Transferring photos is a breeze! If you are looking for a great camera this is the best camera buy dollar for dollar.

Upon reviewing so many beginner cameras I came across the Sony Alpha 5100, I can honestly say it was a great purchase! I love how well it captures the images. I love how I can instantly send all my photos straight to my phone with the WiFi build in. I couldn’t be more satisfied

I love the pictures I've been able to take and the relative small size of the camera. A lot of the functions are lower down in the menus and it would be great to have more function buttons that you could program. Otherwise, it's a great camera with incredible auto focus capabilities and image quality.

Video, photos, or anything you're trying to do this camera will do it with great quality. Good price for everything it offers. It's easy for beginners and even pros can get good use from this easy to carry on the go camera.

Takes good pictures and is fairly easy to use. I'm technologically challenged and have managed to take good photos with this camera. I'm still learning about a lot of the features, since it can do so much. Wish the instructions were a little easier for beginners, but I'm managing.

This camera is for my daughter who will be going to school in Europe. We wanted a camera that is easy to use but had great picture quality. We did a lot of research and based on customer comments chose this one. It provides all the features and functions she wanted and was easy to use. She is very happy with it and looks forward to getting a lot of great pictures while at school.

I got this camera because my husband and I travel a lot so I wanted one with a flip screen which has been a great choice! I knew next to nothing about cameras and this one has been so easy to learn on. Seriously.

I love this camera. I bought this camera for a vacation and so glad I did! I did not want to just use my cell phone for pics (as although it takes okay pictures lets face it they aren't great). I have a very old Sony point and shoot that still takes decent pictures but its so slow in every way. I've been impressed with this new Sony camera in every way. It turns on very fast. Focuses very fast. Takes and saves the data very fast. I choose this one over the A6000 for one simple fact it has the flip up display which takes selfies! I can't tell you how many times I used this feature to make sure I was in pics with my family on this vacation. I was able to set the camera on something, align the shot and flip the screen so we could see what we were getting. The pictures are also amazing quality. My father in law is a very good photographer and when we took pictures of the same event he was stunned how great my photos were compared to his. The lighting wasn't great in one restaurant and we both took photos and this camera was so much better and I didn't even use the flash! He was as impressed as I was. I also used many of the other features such as the panoramic option and have some amazing memories of a great trip with my family. If you are looking for a great camera that is easy enough to use (even my hubby and daughters took some) that takes amazing photos then this is it!

I absolutely LOVE this camera and I am very pleased with my purchase. It was definitely worth every penny. I highly recommend this camera to any beginner out there. Funny this is, I was inspired to get this camera because of a review a YouTuber did on it. From then I was immediately hooked!!! This thing has so many features and gives you suggestions or tips on how to enhance your photos and videos. I’ve never saw a camera do that before, so this really impressed me. I just knew this camera would be perfect for me because it’s small and compact, but still takes amazing photos. All of the reviews for this camera were good so I knew this was a great product. Once I learn all of the features on this camera I’ll probably buy a longer lens. I can’t wait to use this camera when summer starts and take some outdoor photos!! :)

I often walk through Best Buy because I LOVE electronics. I just happened to be walking past the cameras and noticed the new Sony Alpha line. I was using a NEX-5 at the time and liked the new Sonys. Lightweight and compact. A sales clerk noticed me and asked if I had any questions. I did and I bought it. Thanks to the friendliness and patience of this sales cler,k. Im not a professional photographer. Just a photographer hobbyist . This is the perfect camera. Light, compact and easy to carry around. Most of all its easy to use and gives great results.

This is a great camera. I am new to the camera game and this one is very easy to navigate. I was really wanting something for family videos. I was tired of using my iPhone for my family memories. This camera takes amazing pictures and video. I love it! I like the wifi aspect of uploading pictures and video to my iPhone. This camera takes great quality pics. Bottom line I was tired of using our cell phones for family memories. This camera was a necessity for us. My opinion about it not having a view finder Is who even uses a view finder any ways! I was so used to using my iPhone for pictures I don't even miss it. The wifi aspect is really cool!

Great camera, easy to use, super clear pictures and great for videos with 1080p! Also great for selfies, as well as video taping yourself for youtube etc. and the built in WIFI is a bonus! Great Camera! I definately recommend it!

This is my first professional style camera and I'm very impressed with it. The Sony 5100 A series is very user friendly and shoots a great quality photo and video.
