If you stripped away all the photo-shop type special effects available on board, you'd still get more than you're paying for. You can find all the specs elsewhere. Here's the short story. Image stabilization better than most. You can actually use the 20x optical zoom without a tripod. Low light/indoor shots are sharp/colors natural without flash. Everyone complaining above over-flash, try a shot without. Make sure you get a HIGH SPEED SD card for those 18.2 megapixel photos. Battery life good enough to go few days of good use before recharging. Navigating the menus takes a little getting used to, but worth it. You'll get the power and performance of a full size DSLR in a camera the size of a bar of soap! I've had this camera for two months and am still amazed. This replaced my Panasonic Lumix DMC LZ7 6x 7.2mp which was 20% bigger. This Sony gets me closer, clearer shots in more conditions than I could ever expect from a true POCKET camera

A Pocket Camera with Large Camera Features

The Sony DSC-WX350 18.2-Megapixel Digital Camera takes amazing quality photos. There are also so many options and features to choose from or just set it on Auto and the camera will set everything for the best photo. This small size camera even takes photos with better clarity, brightness and color than my more expensive full size camera. I could not be more pleased with the camera. The two attached photos were taken under less than ideal conditions - through a window, full zoom, and cloudy early morning light. The quality is still great in my opinion!

    POWERFUL LITTLE CAMERA

After doing lots of research, I purchased this Sony camera before a trip to Costa Rica. Have since shot hundreds of pics. The lens is very sharp, the time between shots very short, and the high optical zoom fantastic. Got some nice "Iguana" and sunset shots in Costa Rica...closeups came out sharp and focused. I like the feature that allows me to take museum shots without flash, and they come out beautiful--true color and finely focused. I have a bigger camera too, but I love that I can stick this Sony into my pocket and take photos that have very little compromise in them, if any. . If you like to take lots of pics but don't want a heavy camera around your neck, you can't go wrong with this Sony.

Sony Zoom Pocket Camera - very good for what it is

For a pocket camera, it has a great range for the zoom. It is much smaller than the camera I replaced with more zoom capabilty. The only problem I found with it is the delay between pressing the "shutter" and the time it takes to take the photo. I was pleasantly surprised by the quality

After spending months researching a camera to take to a Paramore/Fall Out Boy concert I ended buying this one. I already have a DSLR but obviously I wouldn't be let in with that at the venue. I was very impressed with how it worked under low light. It can take 10 frames per second so you most likely always get a good shot. Another plus is the long lens. I got close shots of both bands even while being 2 sections away. A downside to this camera is that when you review your photos and zoom into them there is a lot of noise and it's pixelated even at a low ISO. This isn't bad if you're just going to post your pictures online or whatnot. The picture quality is fine zoomed out. Another downside is the camera doesn't handle loud bass/drums well during video. I recorded more video during Fall Out Boy and more pictures during Paramore and I regret it because the video sound is not as great as I'd like it to be. I should've taken more photos. I was happier with them. The camera also had problems handling the changing lights on stage well while taking video.

    My gamble paid off

I say gamble in that I sort of panicked and just picked a camera based on what a sales person represented. It was an open box deal, so I saved $50 which also made it somewhat a gamble. My camera became my very best friend in Italy. I lost my phone (or it got taken) in Florence, our 4th day in Italy. I had no way at all to capture all the amazing things we got to do and see. PLEASE NOTE: I took over 1200 photos on this camera most of which came out perfect - NOT due to anything I did. It has a few standard settings but frankly they all seemed about the same and they were all quite good. I will at some point try to take the same photo on different settings/light and see if I can really tell the difference in them. PLEASE ALSO NOTE: the zoom on this thing is amazing - I was in a bus perhaps 1/4 to 1/2 mile away when I started seeing the leaning Tower of Pisa and I zoomed in and got this really cool picture of the Tower from a moving bus. I was excited to get to see the thing so I took several pictures of it. Anyway, I can't say enough about this little camera - it is basic yet so far advanced and it is small so it is not cumbersome when travelling. I loved it so much. I took pictures of funny things like glasses of wine or pizza... along with amazing outdoor beautiful sites like the City of Florence, the Colosseum or a cathedral, inside and outside. My camera just adapted, no matter where I was. I learned the basics - and please learn how to turn your flash off when you enter museums... must learn that feature right away. The wireless thing I'm still working with. It does seem to work but I'd rather just download stuff the old fashioned way. Also, that is probably more a feature of just a few photos at a time, not 1200. I tried the Sony PlayMemories program that is default with this camera and it is okay. I prefer Windows Photo or just uploading to my photo service like Snapfish. But that is a personal preference. It isn't difficult either way. Enjoy the camera if you get it and get over your jitters with it. It pretty much takes care of everything for you. It was the hit of my European vacation and we have gotten 5 books of photos from all the places we went made up from Snapfish because that is how wonderful the photos came out. Oh and before I forget - I really like using the camera on grid mode. That way you take nice straight pics. That's about all the advice I have.

Purchased this camera for a recent family vacation to supplement my DSLR when we took excursions where I did not want to carry a larger camera. The $218 price at Best Buy with the sale was great. The picture quality in day light is great, almost comparable to my DSLR. The image refinement software internal to the camera really does a good job improving the image. Night time photography is good as well. The only exception is if you are trying to capture a lot of motion. I knew going into it though that the lens is not as fast as some of the higher priced models. For that I can use my DSLR. The auto shooting mode adjusts ISO settings very well and with the built in refining software the images turn out nice. While it has many advanced features it does not have the ability to adjust aperture settings or shutter speed independently. I was not looking for that though as I wanted a quick shot and it does that. What I really liked was the 10 shot burst mode and how quickly it shoots. Past experience with the smaller point and shoots is the lag time is such that you miss the shot before it actually fires. This camera responds immediately, akin to a DSLR. I also love the different settings. Especially the panorama mode. Video quality is great! I was actually surprised at how well it does in low light settings. This has been a great camera.

I purchased this camera to travel to Europe. Don't let the size fool you. It takes better pics than my Nikon D3100. The zoom is also a plus with this camera. It is a very smooth zoom and quick auto focus. I just sold my Nikon D3100 and I don't think I will buy another DSLR.

I wanted a camera small enough for my pocket or purse that gave me good quality images and a decent zoom. This Sony WX350 is definitely it! Lots of features, control over settings and delightfully effective auto. It hasn't disappointed me in any shooting situation. I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 because the LCD screen is harder to see in sunny conditions than my other point and shoot cameras (even with the screen brightness set to the highest setting). The videos are crisp, colors bright and decent sound quality. One of my smartest purchases! lol
