I am very happy with the camera, it compact, easy to use, yet doesnt get lost in your hand. The videos so far have been great with this camera. The screw hole on the bottom is great and works perfect with the tripod i also bought from best buy. The anti-shake mode needs work since it gives a weird shifting item in the picture. I bought this exclusively to record youtube videos for my channel.

we wanted a camcorder during the holidays with enough recording time (depending on the memory card). and speaking of the memory card, it was frustrating that when i went to the store to pick it up, i have to look for a best buy associate in the sales area in my own effort (as suggested by the customer pick up associate) considering i specified in my online order that i would prefer to speak to an associate about this item i am purchasing coz i have questions about the memory card as to what type/kind of memory card (eg. standard size or microsize) i need to buy since it's not included and how much memory usually is best to get (eg. 16, 32, 64GB). then the sales associate i found told me to get the standard size coz that's what my camcorder needed. fortunately, i remembered i have a spare one at home so i didn't bother buying one at the store. i came home 6pm (camcorder to be used at 8pm in a school holiday show) and to my surprise when i opened the box and the memory card slot... it's NOT the standard size, but the microsize memory card!!!! since i have no time to go back (and out of the way) to best buy, it's good there's a convenient radio shack near me and there i went and got the microsize memory card with the help of a courteous associate there! in review... 1. i trusted your website with choosing the option, "i wanted to speak to an associate regarding the item I am purchasing"... that didn't happen! 2. the customer pick up store associate didn't even bother to look for an associate in my behalf (since i have to remind him of the option i stated during the online purchase.. and there's even a sticker label in the box of the item too!!).. so i was told to go to the camera section and i should be able to find somebody there (and i went but the guy said he's for samsung products) 3. the sales associate gave me wrong information!!! anyway, going back to the camcorder.. it's a good item.. simple, handy to use, lightweight, confusing in the beginning how to upload videos and east to store. i would recommend this handy camcorder to anyone.

Got this camera to shoot video and pictures of new baby....it has been very fun to learn and easy to use. This is my first camcorder and surprisingly enough it hasn't been hard to learn to navigate. The pictures and videos are amazing quality. I would recommend this camera to anyone wanting a quality and compact device. ...i got mine on sale with a free sd card...was a great bargain! I have only played around with the camera functions so far, and recorded an hour and a half softball double header. The picture quality was fantastic, even when zooming to video the outfield. The audio was great for people close by, but didn't pick up much from further than a few feet. I video taped in daylight and some dusk, and the quality was good during both times. The information online stated a 2 hour battery life, but it only lasted about an hour and a half (including standby time). It also made separate files every time I switched to standby, even though I never turned the camera off (rather than keeping the whole game together). All in all, this video camera is for casual use on my part, so it is definitely worth the price, but does have a couple down sides.

its small and light weight perfect to mount on my bow to capture all my bow hunts on video. its also nice size for the glove compartment of your car to be ready when you need it. awesome video quality .for a good price.

I was always content to just use my phone camera until now! So much better quality with no lag. Very easy to use, and I was very surprised about how good the video was in lack of light! One complaint is the battery life is kind of short. Make sure to grab a spare, maybe two, if you're out and about all day long.

Being a coach I wanted to allow my athletes to see their performances so we could learn from our successes and our mistakes. This camera is easy enough to use that I was able to teach my managers in a manner of 5 minutes every feature they'd need to know about. The picture quality is phenomenal for the price. It is small, light, and durable; making it ideal for the perfect camera for one that is constantly on the move.

I love taking video of my kids, especially when they are playing sports. This camera is light weight and easy to carry around when those special moments present themselves. It is economic, and user friendly. It's very easy to hook up to your tv for all to see the video that was taken. I recommend this camera for its video quality, easy to use and being economic.

Great video camera for the money. Very easy to use and takes great video. The low light function does not work all that great but if there is ample lighting it works great at night. Very small and compact so it is easy to take it everywhere.

The old camera broke the day before my daughters graduation from college so I ran to Best Buy to get a new one but didn't want to spend a ton of money. This camera was reasonably priced and so easy to use. Very compact and I thought for the price I paid it was a good quality camera.

I am not very gifted at videography but wanted something to film my kids doing sports. This camcorder was affordable and allows simple me to use it without much confusion or frustration.

I bought this camcorder to shoot a wedding for a relative, and after EXTENSIVE research of all camcorders in this price range - this Sony HDR-CX240 HD Camcorder had the best features and overall review rating. Very compact, and the hand strap is adjustable to accommodate different sized hands and the battery life is very good. I shot for 5 hours straight, and only needed to change the battery after about 3.5 to 4 hours because it was a wedding. I also got the charger for peace of mind so I could charge the first battery while using the extra batteries.The camera case was perfect to hold everything and has a shoulder strap. I couldn't download the Sony software (which you don't need to download to use the camera, but has some nifty features to help with editing videos and making DVD's) because I have an old Home Computer that is still running XP, so based on that - here are some items of note: 1) You may need a newer version of Windows (newer than XP with service pack 2) to read the memory card. 2) This camcorder does not have a "pause" feature, but that saves on battery life. Plus, many video editing software programs usually allow you to combine video-clips anyway, so the lack of the "pause" feature wasn't a hindrance to me. 3) The camcorder "settings" are already setup from the manuafacturer (default settings) but you will need to go through the menus to adjust settings if you don't want to use the "default" settings. Once example being the "Quality" of the video (higher quality means each video clip will have a larger file size, so you would need to buy a larger memory card) . I bought a 64GB memory card which was perfect for holding plenty of videos on the Highest quality setting, and I should never need to buy a larger one. 4) Unless you are taking video's of objects or people which won't be moving much, or if you won't be panning the camera quickly (like with sport events), you should use the "60p" option over the "60i" option (default), because the movements of the subjects in the video will look a little choppy. The 60p option is better quality, but I don't think you can take photos at the same time on the "60p" setting (its worth the tradeoff though). Changing to the "60p" setting may be a little tricky, but you can contact Sony support here if you get stuck: http://esupport.sony.com/US/p/select-system.pl?DIRECTOR=CONTACT 5) I would recommend getting a smal or /thin camera shoulder strap, just incase you may want extra "oops" protection that just the built-in hand-strap (which you can adjust to be as snug as you want ). 6) You may want to practice with the camera's menus for a little while to get the hang of navigating the menus, and taking some video - since it is very small. You will really like it!

The size of the was good, even I can operate. Not just for taking pictures, for operating a vehicle when it does not operate correctly.

This is a really nice entry level video camera. I like that this camera is very simple. The display is clear and the videos I have made have all been perfect. It has worked well in low light and spectacularly well in the sunshine. The battery seems to last a very long time, so while you can't charge it and record at the same time, you do get a very lengthy period for recording.This weighs almost nothing, which at first gave me the impression of being "cheap" but it really is the lightness of the batteries compared to the old video camera we used to have.

Great video outside. Video taken inside isn't bad either. Great camera for the money.

Lightweight camera with reasonably good quality, but still slightly grainy even at the highest resolution--or at least it is under the lighting conditions I've used. SD card insertion is a little awkward because it does allow the card to go in slightly crooked. It acknowledges you've inserted it but tells you to remove it and reinsert it.

Camcorder has a nice optical zoom. Easy to use. Very affordable compared to other camcorders out there. Video quality is fantastic! Only minor downside is that the USB charge adapter is very small and thin. Would be worried about it stripping. Otherwise, well worth the money!

I like the camera very much for the price. Although the battery life only last about 2-3 hours I can't complain. Good quality.
