Coming from a PS4, I love the faster load times. I appreciate the backwards compatibility. I’ve got all my PS4 games stored on an external 8 terabyte usb drive, and everything loads and plays at least as well as on the built in drive on the PS4. The new controller feels good in hand, and is a nice upgrade from the DualShock controllers. The biggest downsides are the difficulty in finding a PS5 to actually purchase, the limited number of new titles that truly take advantage of the new console’s processing power and graphics capabilities, and the ridiculously small internal solid state drive. PS5 games have to be played off of the internal drive, and it fills up quickly. It helps that you can transfer games back and forth between external and internal storage, but it’s still far from ideal, and while the PS5 comes with an internal expansion bay for another, hopefully much larger, SSD, it’s not yet activated, and approved drives are not yet available. Also, subjectIve, but the stormtrooper look does nothing for me, so it hides, and takes up a lot of space on its side in an A/V cabinet. It’s not perfect, but considering the reality of the chip shortage and other pandemic related supply chain challenges in a time of huge demand, it’s still a solid 5 star console.

Going over hardware and software. Not going over the every exact technical specs as you can easily look that up. Software can change overtime, this is review of software at launch. If any hardware hiccups or failures in near future I'll update this review --Hardware: Physical: Looks futuristic yet tacky. In my personal opinion, looks doesn't really matter as long it can play next gen games well Large console. Standing up it's the tallest home video console. A lot of air-vents throughout making it aerodynamic, cool, quiet, and does not overheat or get hot with consecutive gameplay hours. This may change in the future if games require more performance out of the system, with similar fate like the PS4 where it was whisper quiet in beginning and became louder over the years with more graphical intensive games. Has LED lights giving it a PC look (?) Face plate easy to take out for future customization options (?). 667of 820gb of free download space in console Swapping SDD is not as easy as Xbox Series X (with it's plug and play method) as you have to remove some screws. Upside is that it's standard and not a propriety SDD. PS5 is compatible with most PS4 games. If you have an external SDD from PS4 it's just plug and transfer to PS5 internal storage Comes with stand. Console is not entirely flat, so stand is required for horizontal position. You have console in vertical position without stand, but does not have grip (rubber feet) so may slide if bumped into or during an earthquake Front of console: USB-C, USB-A, power, and eject button Back of console: Two USB-A (Super Speed), LAN port, HDMI, and power port Wished it had more USB-C ports to be future proof, but guess they kept USB-A for some current accessories to be backwards compatible. Disappointed the PS5 official 3D pulse headset and camera uses USB-A. Also no optical audio port means i can't use some of my surround sound headsets. Load times for PS5 games are instantaneous. Ps4 games will load much faster, even without optimized patch. Ps5 have ray tracing giving games realistic lighting effects -Controller: Console comes with one controller Physically larger than past DuelShock controllers. Great for those with adult sized hands Great tech demo included with 'Astro's Playroom'. Haptic feedback. Similar to Nintendo Switch HD rumble, but more apparent. Not sure if developers will implement in future their games. Even with Nintendo first party; only '1-2 Switch' and 'Mario Party' from what I recall used HD rumble at great extent and it dropped off after that. Adaptive triggers. Will feel resistance/push back on triggers if developers implement it in game. Hope both Haptic feedback and Adaptive triggers say the entire lifespan and transfer to PS6 instead of dropping off like the six axis on PS3 and light bar in PS4 Has built in mic. Sound quality is similar to current smart phone on speaker. Has mute button Similar to PS4, it has speaker and touch pad. Touch pad is more sensitive this time around About double battery life of Ps4 controller. Able to get in 10 consecutive hours Wished it came with back paddle buttons. Hopefully they release a DualSense Back Button Attachment like they did the DualShock 4 You can play PS4 games with DualShock 4 or DualSense . PS5 games only can be played with DualSense --Software UI, OS is the similar to PS4 with scrolling apps/games (left, right, up, down) There's an activity row where you can track your progress on games Other rows are News and PSN store There are notifications popups, but you can turn on 'Do Not Disturb' mode Similar to phone's swipe down tool bar for basic profile (trophy list, avatar, user info, etc), accessibility options, sound, Game Base, internet wifi select, controllers (see connected controllers), etc on home screen for easy access. 'Game Base' section is where you make party with friends and chat with them, view friend requests. Share button this time around will pull up menu to take snap shot, record video, or save video previously played game session for up to 60mins There's an 'Your Accolades' feature where you give props to other players. Reminds me of how to give endorsements (Sportsmanship, Good Teammate, Shot Caller) in Overwatch to encourage positivity in online community. For PS5 has Helpful, Welcoming, and Good Sport There are accessibility options/preferences you can setup that transfers to your games There's a 'Switcher' option where you can change games on the fly, but unlike the Xbox Series X's 'quick resume' does not leave where you left off, and will boot you back to the home screen of that game Picture-in-picture mode if you want friends to help show you how to get through levels PS4 games load faster on PS5 if downloaded to SSD. Graphical upgrade depends on publisher if they implement a 'PS5 upgrade" patch -For PS5 trophies. Trophies that have collectables there is a progress bar showing how much left to collect. There are also tutorial videos for some games that implement it. Some trophies once selected will drop you into the level/section where you can obtain the trophy. Again depends on game developer if they implement it. PS4 trophies on PS5 act the same Base price for games are $70 ($10 more than last gen); Excluding Special/Collector's editions, DLC, micro-transactions, loot crates, and surprise mechanics Overall, aside from some odd design choices very capable next gen system. There are some features especially on the controller that developers have to utilize and may not be present in all games. If anything like the PS3 and PS4, going to have thousands of gameplay hours on this system

This is a fantastic device! As a whole, it is definitely worthy of being next gen. Graphics are a tad sharper than the PS4 Pro, but it’s frame rates and load times that are really impressive, the real centerpiece tech for this device is the controller. I’m absolutely mesmerized by how transcendent it takes gaming. FEELING raindrops in a game is phenomenal! Feeling the change in footsteps as you walk from stone to mud. Just brilliant. This easily feels like the new experience one expects from a new generation of gaming. The system is huge. It really doesn’t fit in most entertainment shelves. It’s super quiet. I have about 50 PS4 games on a external hd. So far, everything plays fantastically. My wife, who usually rolls her eyes at my purchases, really enjoys playing the ps5. Highly recommend getting a charging dock and a second controller. Makes life much more simple. Props to Best Buy for making it so easy to get the system. Took 5minutes from walking into the store til I was in the parking lot and heading home.

I am enjoying my Playstation 5 load times for my PS3 PS4 AND PS5 GAMES. The system is extremely Quiet it makes no noise no matter the work load that I give it. The quality of the Playstation 5 is awesome including the Controller and stand that comes with the Console. The Console has like this brick like texture design on the inside of the white pillars That feels good to the hand. You can also take the Pillars off and Customized your PS5 pillars by Painting them whatever color you want to. You can also add your name and designs on the pillars without causing any damage to the PS5 internally and Externally. So over all the Quality of the system is A 5star rating for me. The Console does not over heat and it plays smoothly the positioning of The PS5 is Customizable because it comes with a stand that allows you to sit it up vertical or Horizontal The Console can also sit up vertical without its stand. The PS5 To me is Vaule at the correct price because you not only get a 4k to 8k gaming experience you also get a Entertainment Center all in one package, At the same time The PS5 is completely backward Compatible with my PS4 DISC AND DIGITAL Games. So the vaule of the system i also give it 5 stars. The PS5 Still has alot of updates that is coming to its operating system/UI that will allow it to have the expandable storage option, and that will allow even more smoother connectivity with PS3 and PS4 games. I have Also given a Over all five star rating to how efficient it is to operate the PS5 system. The boot up time is like 3to 10secs max from the moment you press the power button on the console or controller you go straight to your log in screen and within 2seconds you are looking at your interface which is extremely easy to use. The interface Separates your game media from your entertainment media meaning when you only want to game you just scroll over to the gaming media side, and when you want to watch all your entertainment media like YouTube or Hulu and Netflix you just scroll over to the entertainment media option which is less then a second. Now things get even easier with the Ui of the Playstation interface when you use something called switcher which allows you to jump from game to game or from YouTube back to any game or media App the transition is seemless and so fast. If I had to say anything bad about the PS5 it would be its starting out storage capacity of only 667gb of storage and the fact that the stand comes off to easily when sat Horizontally other then that My Game system is a PYT.

I had the opportunity to order my PS5 through Best Buy during Black Friday week. And I must say a huge thank you to Best Buy for their two factor authorization system that allowed me as well as many others to secure their console without worrying about bots and scalpers. As far as the console itself goes, it is definitely worth its price and a lovely upgrade from the PlayStation 4. It’s sleek, has a cool design and is as quiet as a mouse during most operations. The controller is also a great upgrade, Sony certainly knew what they were doing. The dualsense feels great in the hands, and the adaptive triggers and haptic feedback feel so amazing in Cold War, the only PS5 game I have at the moment. The 4K looks stunning on the Samsung QLED I have and the refresh rate, even in 60fps at the moment looks fantastic. The only few cons I would give this console are small, but something to consider for future buyers. The console is massive. The largest console I have ever owned certainly, even outsizing the massive original Xbox One. It’s just slightly shorter than my PC tower. But if size doesn’t bother you then go for it. The disc drive also looks a bit out of place for the design. The digital edition was sold out already so I picked up a disc version. If the unsymmetrical look bothers you, then I’d opt for the digital edition. Also when downloading a disc and starting up the Ps5 with the disc in it, the disc drive gets really loud. But this is only during installation and start up. While playing disc games, it doesn’t get loud. Overall I give this console 5 stars an definitely recommend to any PlayStation fan.

I'll keep this short and sweet. Pros: - Next gen games are visually amazing. - Performance mode is a rock solid 60 fps and still visually looks great even without Ray Tracing - SSD is so fast, waiting for games to load is not even a thing anymore - Love the new dashboard interface - Dualsense controller is truly next gen Cons: - Impossible to buy (I was lucky enough to get one obviously) - Disc drive is LOUD when it's spinning. It doesn't spin all the time. But for the 10seconds or so it spins, it reminds me of the PS4 pro's fans. - Hard finding a spot for it on your set up. It's biiig!

The PlayStation 5 is a generational leap. It is quiet and the load times are incredibly fast. But the controller is the most impressive feature with this new console, providing a level of immersion that has not been possible until now. The haptic feedback and adaptive triggers are truly game changers. The only negative might be the size. While it is the largest console to date, it is still on par with other audio equipment like receivers. Hopefully retailers will solve the distribution problems so more gamers can get their hands in these systems.

The PlayStation 5 is an absolute game-changer in the world of gaming! From its lightning-fast loading times to its jaw-dropping graphics, this console truly defines next-gen gaming. The DualSense controller's haptic feedback and adaptive triggers add an unparalleled level of immersion, making every gaming experience feel more real than ever before. The sleek design of the PS5 is not only visually stunning, but it also allows for efficient cooling, ensuring extended gaming sessions without any overheating concerns. The expanded storage options and backward compatibility with a wide range of PS4 titles give gamers an extensive library to explore, with improved performance on many older games. The user interface is intuitive and user-friendly, making it a breeze to navigate through menus, switch between games, and access various entertainment apps. The inclusion of 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray support and the ability to stream content in 4K make the PS5 a true multimedia powerhouse. Whether you're a casual gamer or a hardcore enthusiast, the PlayStation 5 delivers an exceptional gaming experience that will leave you in awe. Sony has once again raised the bar for console gaming, and I couldn't be happier with my purchase. If you're looking to dive into the future of gaming, the PS5 is an absolute must-have!

This is a true next generation system! Great graphics, does 4K at 60 FPS on select games, does 8K video, can do 120 FPS in select games. The duel sense controller is a beast, it has haptic feedback and adaptive triggers, it comes with a free game preinstalled called Astros Playroom. The PS5 runs nice and quiet, stays pretty cool as well. The SSD is very fast, loads games in mere seconds! The PlayStation 5 has a great selection of games to choose from. This is game console to go for! I highly recommend it!

Fimally managed to get one, and I have to say, I'm impressed. It's bigger than I expected, but it looks nice once you sit it on your TV stand. Once a gake is installed, it runs pretty quietly. The graphics are impressive. Unlike when the PS4 first came out, this controller seems to be much more sturdy. Finally, I really like the ability to "pause" a game, and go back to it after watching YouTube, or better yet, putting it in rest mode. After putting the game down for three days and turning the console on, I pick back up right where I started. This works for PS5 and PS4 games. Speaking of PS4 games, the PS5 is backwards compatible with my PS4 games. So it's nice to be able to catch up and play some PS4 games I missed or want to return to. Especially with PS4 games being so scarce. The only concern I have is for the space. There is not a lot of space (less than the 1 TB on the box) due to the pre-inatalled apps and system data. Luckily for my PS4 games, I can use an external SSD for storing my PS4 games on. And when installing PS4 games, it'll automatically install them to my external SSD unless I tell it not to. That's a good quality of life feature. Luckily, there is an expandable storage bay in the console, so I will be looking at that in the future. The PlayStation 5 is a great machine. The capabilities are nice, and its backwards compatibility will help with the lack of library right now due to being a new console. Even with the small library of PS5 games right now, if you can snag one, it's worth it.

It's great! The system is REALLY fast.. like I'm already feeling spoiled by the lack of loading time. Anything that takes more than 5 seconds is making me impatient nowadays. lol The controller is pretty cool, but I think it gets raved about a bit excessively in the reviews I've come across. To me, the actual 'rumble' effect has decreased from past models. Now the trackpad and button sensitivity is elite! The actual console is really large. My first thought after hooking it up to my TV is that I need a new TV. It made my 40' screen look small. I admit a 40' screen isn't huge, but next to this behemoth of a system it just looks tiny. lol - I used the vertical stand, but you can also set it horizontally. You will still need the same stand, just set up from a different angle. Lastly, if you have a PS4, keep it connected to your TV until you complete the initial installation process for your PS5. They will give you the option to transfer your PS4 data over (they even let you choose what to transfer and what not to). So far it's been a pretty smooth transition with my PS5. I've only played a few games, They are still making adjustments and improvements through updates, and likely will continue to do so throughout the duration of this generation. Oh! and almost forgot! As a PS+ member, it also came with 20 classic PS4 games available for free download! Completely unexpected to me! I already owned a few and added the rest to my library. I haven't downloaded any yet, but it was a nice surprise bonus!

-First of all I could not believe I finally have one in hands, not from scalpers. -Coming from an RTX3080, i9-10900k PC I will try to remain neutral as possible on the performance department. Aesthetics are great, bold design does look like a next generation thing. Size I think is too big but design wise might make sense to better handle thermals. Quality feels robust but make sure you always use the included stand so you don’t regret any falls. Performance, console is super quiet, SSD load times are next gen, significant difference from the past gen and comparable to those on PC. 4k games such as godfall looks pretty decent with consistent FPS. Other games such as CoD might suffer some FPS drops. At the end it does not matter is a gaming console. I think PS5 will enjoy another great gen above their rivals. If pristine performance is your thing get a PC, for quality exclusives and everything else PS5 is the way to go next gen console gaming.

Other than the nightmare it was trying to pre order the thing!! It was totally worth it!! The graphics look amazing!! Love the Ray tracing and 4k! Love the option of doing performance and hitting 60fps on a regular basis!! I personally haven't been able to test the 120fps because my TV isn't capable of doing so. The SSD is small yes! But it's an awesome addition to consol gaming cause the speed of the load times is amazing!! And last but not least the dualsense controller is a game changer!! The haptic feedback and adaptive triggers is so cool to use!! It's really used in great deal in Astros Playroom which comes pre loaded in every ps5!! Can't wait to see what other developers do with this technology!! I've read that Cold War there's a different trigger sensation with every different gun in the game!! Now that's cool!! When you're able to get your hands on one i highly recommend this for any gamer!!

To start I’m a huge PlayStation fan, so this may sway my opinion on the console a bit. Overall this console is great! The controller is the feature that I feel really makes this console stand out from other PlayStation generations. The Haptic Feedback and Adaptive Triggers really feel next gen. The battery life is great, but I find that the in controller speaker is not ideal for audio chat, so a headset for online play is a must. Having upgraded from a base PS4 I have seriously noticed the graphics upgrade. The UI is nice and runs smoothly, but does require a learning curve coming from the PS4 simply because certain actions may now take an extra step to achieve, while others may now be easier to access. Load times are as fast as it was promoted to be. Loading a game like No Mans Sky or CyberPunk 2077 is lightning fast.

It was quite difficult to pre-order the PS5, but I truly lucked out because even with all the restocks certain retailers have had... it is still unbelievably hard to place the order. I hope anyone that still wants one gets one soon because it really is unfair that the gamers aren't able to land one whilst scalpers have thousands. The PS5 has run beautifully and so intelligently from what I've experienced. The set up was of course easy and fast. The new UI is smooth and I definitely like it more than the old one on the PS4. The Dualsense Controller is AMAZING. It is probably the next best thing (only second to the console itself) with the way it works. It's not as slippery like the Dualshock and feels great in hand. Even after hours of gaming, I did not feel any fatigue in my hands. The battery life is probably similar to its predecessor. Overall, the console runs very smoothly and I have not experienced any sort of loudness with it. I do recommend when playing games, to choose performance over the resolution. You will absolutely get a higher FPS and I think it just runs a lot better that way. Would highly recommend this to anyone that wants to experience next gen even though we've just merely begun to play those games.

I own the xbox series x also and I notice better load times and some graphical advantages but the PS5 is incredible also and the controller is intuitive and comfortable. My main gripe with the PS5 is the crappy storage space you start with after the system downloads the updates needed to start playing. You are left with a measly 668 GB of space. PlayStation also doesn't have an external storage option like the xbox has so I had to choose the games i downloaded instead of downloading them all, unless I wanted to use an external hard drive but then I would be missing out on the fast download times that the new systems boast. Xbox does have an option but $219 dollars for 1TB is steep. I'm afraid to think what a 3TB option will cost when they eventually release. I'm afraid we could end up paying more for storage than the systems costed. All in all the PS5 is a great console and once the storage options are resolved, it will then earn a 5 star rating from me.

PS5 -Standard Unboxing just like PS4 -New Dual Sense Controllers feel amazing and is rechargeable -Free game installed Astro’s playroom -Only Console with Next-Gen exclusives at launch -Cool futuristic design at least the digital version looks cool the disc looks like it was just slapped on last minute -SSD is really fast -Great and easy to use User Interface -Games look amazing PS5 CONS -slightly weaker specs -Only 825gb of storage?? -Still some bugs to work out XBOX SERIES X -Unboxing was cool almost Apple like -Game Pass (game library) -Design fits more to blend in and is really cool and is very Apple like as well. -Has better Specs on paper -Quick Resume is cool -Microsoft has deep pockets just bought Bethesda XBOX SERIES X CONS -No Next-Gen exclusives at launch -Same Controllers basically that still need batteries -I’m personally sick of another subscription (game pass) -Still some bugs to workout Right now I think PS5 is the better system right now comes with Astro’s Playroom and currently playing Miles Morales and Demon souls is just amazing. But that may change in the future because Microsoft just bought Bethesda (Doom, Fallout, Elder Scrolls) for their GamePass subscription which can be a pro or con depending how you look at it. They want to be like Netflix of games and push another subscription to drain our wallets is the way I look at it. I love Halo and the Fallout series so I’m keeping both systems. I also read another review that said the PS5 was crashing on the new Call of Duty and I can tell you it’s the games fault not the system because my Xbox series X was crashing too playing it as I prefer to play First person shooters on Xbox because of the controller. Although the PlayStation’s new controller will give Xbox’s controller a run for its money because of its interactiveness. Overall both systems are really good and I’m keeping both but I will have to give the edge to PlayStation because it’s overall package just feels next Gen where the Xbox series X just feels like a really really powerful Xbox! PlayStation 5 stars Xbox 4 stars!
