This Sony under-cabinet player is great for any kitchen. It's design allows it to be placed under any cabinet. Included are four leg extensions in case your cabinets have a lip that comes down lower than the actual base. This delivers a crisp clean sound from both CD's and the radio. Another cool feature is that it can tune into the audio of local broadcast stations, this way you can hear whatever you would hear on many of your local TV stations. The included remote allows you to control the volume, station, or power from anywhere in your kitchen. Supports 5 custom preset stations on all "bands" ... AM, FM1, FM2 etc. Also has a quick and easy timer that comes in handy. What lost this item a star was that it does not give you the option to insert a battery to save the preset stations and time in case of a power outage. This means every time it is unplugged or there is a power outage, you will have to reset your stations and the time. Besides that one minor flaw, I would recommend this over any other style CD player for the kitchen. It has a great sound, and stays out of the way.

This is our second under-the-cabinet type radio. When compared to our previous GE branded model, the Sony was really easy to install and has outstanding FM reception. For a small radio the sound quality is decent. The built in timer feature is really easy to use and convenient. Living in a rural location, the FM reception is great. Able to pickup all the local stations we want where in the past with the other radio this was not possible. Disappointed with the weather band reception. One of the reasons this radio was chosen was for the weather band option which is really bad. Not able to pick up the local weather station that is 30-miles away, instead I get weather from Chicago located 110-miles away.

We just bought this product. It has good sound and gets great FM reception. The mounting was fairly straightforward. However, one of the mounting points broke off making it impossible to snug to the cabinet. We had to return it for a replacement after cutting the screw head off with saw. I think we're set now though as we have the new one in place and working.
