Sony—WF-C710N Truly Wireless Noise-Canceling Earbuds—“WF-C710N Wireless Noise-Canceling Earbuds are the ultimate everyday audio essential, with optimal noise cancellation, a longer battery life, and better sound quality.”
I have tested and used many different headphones and earbuds, from the low to the high, and the Sony WF-C710N, which is built on the success of the WF-C700Ns, performs as well as those at the top of the price range for a budget price. They’re some of the most awesome-sounding buds out there, and yes, they have active noise-canceling (ANC) technology that works. Plus, you can turn the ANC on or off as you wish.
Pros
• Extremely comfortable
• Highly effective ANC
• Customizable
• Great Equalizer settings
• Fantastic bass response
• Consistent sound across genres
• Up to 33.5 hours of battery life, 40 hours with ANC turned off
• Hook to two Bluetooth devices at once
• Can use one or two buds as you desire
Cons
• No LDAC or aptX
The user-friendly software (companion app) gives you the ultimate control of the in-ear style earbuds, allowing you to customize the EQ or remap the earbud touch buttons. The buds fit snugly in your ear canal and you have optional Hybrid silicone rubber earbud tips for the best fit possible. I was never afraid that I would have them drop out, no matter the activity. IPX4 rated, which means they’re resistant to water. You can wear them while working out, as they’re sweatproof. These are some of the most comfortable earbuds I have used.
Another feature that I really like is wear detection. Playback automatically pauses when a bud is removed and then resumes when it’s put back in. I found that it works smoothly. Put one of the buds in the case, which acts as a recharger, and you can still use one bud for those times that this is appropriate for your use. Talk about a plus.
ANC does a great job. I used them while the yard guys were using their leaf blowers, and the buds kept the noise level to an acceptable level. Sony included a Wind Noise Reduction design, which reduces the sound of wind buffeting. You can switch to Ambient mode to be aware of your surroundings — handy if you’re working out or running outdoors. Additionally, the Sound Connect app allows you to adjust the ambient sound in 20 levels, allowing for a good selection based on your situation. You also get a Transparency mode, which allows you to have conversations with people without having to remove the earbuds.
The EQ works well, and I am a bass man, so I appreciated the bass boosted setting on the EQ, which did an excellent job. You have some broad selections and a couple of settings for maintaining some custom setups. Music, movies, phone conversations, and usefulness in noisy environments make these buds my new favorites. I tested the earbuds by listening to a range of genres — rock, indie, dance/pop, etc. They all sounded phenomenal, with fantastic bass response and crystal clear vocals. The bass sounded powerful but never overpowering.
You can fully remap the touch panel buttons on the buds with the APP and this worked cleanly. Most APPS are a pain and not user-friendly, so you wonder why you installed them. But I like the Sony APP. It leads to me using a lot of customization and testing of different settings on the fly to improve my enjoyment of various listening experiences.

Great Earbuds for Music and Calls!

This is my review of the Sony - WF-C710N Truly Wireless Noise-Canceling Earbuds which I am giving a 4 out of 5-star rating. The earbuds come packaged in a dual carrying /charging case so they will easily fit in your front pocket or purse. In my use, the case held enough power to charge both ear headphones three times. The enclosed instructions are basically useless as to why it is highly suggested to use their QR Code to download the detail instruction PDF to your mobile device along with the Sony Sound Connect smartphone app. The app is your key to navigating all the features of these earbuds. When paired with your phone you can set add separate functions for each earbud touch sensor for each individual earbud. For example, on the right earbud, you can select Playback Control for the functions of Play/Pause, Next Song, Previous Song, Voice Assist, Reject A Call, or Raise The Volume. For example, on the left earbud, you can select Noise Canceling, Ambient Sound, Receive/Finish A Call, Reject A Call, or Lower The Volume. It does take some time to commit to memory the Morse code tapping for each earbud to manage the desired features/options.
As for the sound quality while listening to music, I was quite impressed and found an overall balance between the highs and lows. The earbuds themselves come in three different sizes. To place them in your ear, you hold them vertical, gently insert the ear headphone into the ear canal, then turn the ear headphone backwards until snug into your ear. The app has a great animation on how to insert the earbuds into your ear along with a twist needed to lock them into your ear canal. There are special sound/audio features with the first one being “360 Reality Audio” which is a form of AI surround sound. They provide a sound clips for audio sampling from Normal Audio to 360 Reality Audio. To completely take advantage of this feature, you must subscribe to either 360 Reality Live, Artists Connect, Amazon Music Unlimited, nugs.net, or PeerTracks. Since I subscribe to neither of these music streaming apps this feature is not a benefit to me. The second sound/audio feature is “Analyze ear shape” in which you take pictures of each ear in order to apply some sort of equalization to your listening experience. After performing this task, I felt no change in sound quality.
As for the sound quality while taking phone calls, I found the audio both crisp and clear. As for taking calls, I was first confused on how to answer or hang-up on phone calls, i.e., what “Morse code” tap do I use for this function! I still find it cumbersome to answer calls as I’m used to physical buttons on ear headphones. For each instance a double tap on the touch sensor will either answer or hang-up your call. A BIG disappointment be me is that there is NO option to mute your call directly through the ear headphone themselves. You need to have your phone readily available to mute!
Overall, these earbuds provide great sound quality for music and the battery life is great which gets me to 5 out of 5 start rating. BUT, I feel the lack of a Mute button or is a big drawback for me, perhaps my personal preference. I hope you enjoyed reading my review in aiding you in the selection of this product.

I've been a lifelong Sony fan, love how their bass sounds in their products, and these Sony WF-C710N noise canceling earbuds are no exception - but with a caveat.
I initially paired these earbuds with my iPhone, so that I could use the Sony Sound Connect app to get the most out of them. I am very familiar with the app, as I have many sets of earbuds and headphones for a variety of scenarios. Once connected, you can really dial in your sound, change the spatial awareness of them, and set up your equalizer, and you bass modes. The earbuds sound absolutely great connected to my iPhone. Absolutely no complaints at all.
However, my intention with these earbuds was to connect them to both my iPhone, but also my MacBook Pro to use when I have Teams calls. This is where the problem begins. Not with connecting them, that was very straight forward as they are multi device compatible. My problem is with the sound quality. I am able to connect and initially they sound good, but then there is a feint 'hissing' sound. I presumed that it was the ambient sound mode kicking in, which emphasizes sounds around you, so I pressed the ANC button and the sound got louder, so it wasn't in that mode originally. I pressed the button again, and they quietened down, but not 'silent' like they were when connected to my iPhone.
I attended several Teams meetings that day, and every meeting had this background noise. The sound in the meeting was fine, but with this 'hissing' sound in the background. I don't know if it was picking up the laptop's fan noise and enhancing it or what the issue was. It was all compounded when an aircraft flew overhead and almost deafened me.
As I say, connection to the iPhone was not an issue at all (and the packaging does say 'Made for iPhone' right on it. No complaints there. But assuming they would work just the same on another Apple product, the MacBook Pro, they did not work as expected.
Aside from the connection, I found that prolonged wear did start to hurt my ear a little (90 mins meeting) but I do have tight ear canals and this is not the first set of earbuds to do that, so I am not dinging them for that. They do charge quickly, and a 'top up' charge of 5-10 mins will net you at least another 60 mins of use. The case holds approximately 3 charges in it, so you can definitely go all day without having to completely recharge the earbuds.
The overall design is nice, I have the white version, the case is textured so it won't slip out of your hand, the earbuds do fit nicely in my ear, and have a variety of tip sizes to fit your ear. They do sound great when connected to your phone, just as they were designed, but I had challenges when connecting to a MacBook Pro.

The design of the case and buds is what you’d expect; they are minimalist and highly portable. The plastic material has this pleasant feeling to it, and it is super light. The lid closes up tightly, but the magnets keeping the buds in place are a bit weak, so a hard shake or drop and they will be sent flying.
These buds are some of the most comfortable ones I have worn in a while. The shape makes them quite ergonomic and since they weigh next to nothing, I was able to keep them on for more than 2 hours at a time with no issues whatsoever. Even when sweating, they stayed on firmly without the need to readjust. The buds stayed put even when I did jumping jacks and headshakes. They are rated IPX4, so a little humidity won’t affect them.
They feature Bluetooth 5.3 and fast pair, so pairing them was a breeze. I experienced no hiccups, lagging, or sync issues with videos or gaming at decent distances. Multi-point worked very nicely between my phone and laptop.
The controls are super responsive, but they’re awkward to learn and get used to. Tapping repeatedly to raise or lower the volume can be a bit weird.
The battery life is good. They’d certainly take a few days before they need charging, since I not in the habit of wearing them for more than a couple of hours at a time. The buds feature quick charging, but sadly no wireless charging.
The noise cancellation is not as good as Sony’s higher tier buds, but I took them on the subway and were more than acceptable. I can still hear medium-to-higher noises, so you’re not fully cut off from the world. The ambient mode is also OK. Speech is remarkably clear. However, I did notice white noise in quiet environments and loud wind noise which became annoying when walking. I appreciate the tap-to-hear and remove-to-chat features which are great for listening to those train announcements or having a quick conversation.
The call quality is great at this price range, although I still sounded a bit processed. Loud places were no issue and wind noise was kept to a minimum, but overall, I had to speak a little louder.
Now, the audio quality is what you would expect from Sony. The bass is strong, deep, but well-defined. The midrange comes out clear and unimpeded, while the treble adds clarity and brightness without being harsh. I was a bit disappointed that the only codecs available were SBC and AAC (no LDAC!). The DSEE works nicely, especially when watching video content. The sound signature can be further optimized with the companion app, although there aren’t many options. Speaking of the app, it’s not as robust as others, but it does add more versatility. There, you can control ambient mode, change the control scheme, update software/firmware, adaptive sound control (kind of gimmicky), and more.
While it’s missing some quality of life options such as Qi charging and Hi-Res codecs, I think this is still a great value since so much is being packed into this semi-budget ear buds -and the sound is amazing.

I wear my wireless earbuds a lot. I have had quite a few different kinds over the years in my search for the "perfect ones for me". Common issues I've had are difficulties getting them to connect to my device, not fitting in my ear correctly, poor sound qualities and the thudding noise that I hear through them when I walk or workout.
My first pair of decent earbuds were the Sony WF-SP800N. They had a stabilizer piece that fit in my outer ear to help hold them in place. They were relatively easy to control using the controls on the sides.
I use another brand that are much smaller. Their small size fits well in my ear and doesn't fall out.
When I received the Sony WF-C710N I was excited to try them. They are slightly smaller than the model 800 I previously had and much larger than my preferred earbuds. The box includes a USB-C cable, 4 extra assorted sized silicone ear tips and the associated paperwork. Like most electronics nowadays, instructions are accessed via a QR code.
I selected the largest size ear tip that fit comfortably in my ear. This not only helps to hold it securely but helps to improve the sound quality.
While I was holding the box in my hand, the earbuds linked themselves to my phone, possibly via the QR code on the box. There is an app to download to help fine tune the earbuds to you and help you to set the settings. If you'd rather control them with the app instead of the controls on the side of the earbuds, you can do that.
The earbuds have active noise canceling and ambient sound mode, which allows you to hear things around you like cars or someone coming up behind you.
There are various settings to customize the sound of what you're listening to: bright, excited, mellow, relaxed... There is an equalizer setting as well. The app can also control the sound settings of the earbuds based on your activity. You can connect to two devices simultaneously. There are dual mics for great sound when making calls.
If you subscribe to a premium music service that provides 360 Reality Audio, you can set the earbuds up for that as well.
I found the sound canceling to be kind of lacking, especially at lower volumes. The physical size of the earbuds is rather large and sort of hangs out of my ears. If I were to run or work out, I wouldn't feel confident that they would stay in my ears securely.
At the price point, they are affordable and definitely won't break the bank.

I’ve been using these new Sony wireless earbuds for the past week or so and so far I’m quite pleased with them. They are comfortable for long sessions. Haven’t had any issues with them falling out while exercising, or after falling asleep with them on. (Weird I know). I tend to sleep with earbuds in my ears sometimes while listening to podcasts. Build quality of the case and earbuds is good. They are made of a lightweight plastic, they have a matte texture to them. I like it but it makes a scratchy type noise when you rub them while they’re in your ears because of the texture they have. The case is lightweight but sturdy. Battery life is excellent. I charged the pod for about an hour after taking them out of the box and they are still going strong. I would say I’ve used them for at least 8-10 hours and the pod still has a healthy charge. Sound quality is very good. At the default EQ, lows and bass are present but not over powering. Mids and trebles are clean and balanced. If you download the sony sound connect app, which I highly recommend for these earbuds, you can change the EQ preset and use different settings. You can also toggle on active noise canceling or put them in “ambient sound” mode. Which will allow surrounding noise to feed into your ears (for safety). The app is smart and will adjust according to your surrounding and activity you select. My only complaint about ambient sound mode is that sometimes there is a weird hiss, it isn’t overly annoying but a little distracting. It comes and goes. Active noise cancelling is good when in noise cancelling mode. I work at the airport and will sit outside sometimes while on break and these do a great job at blocking out the loud blasts of jet engines. I’ve used a lot of earbuds in my life and I would put these in my top 10 list. They are comfortable, battery life is excellent, and sound quality and active noise cancelling is good. They check off the most important things to look for when buying earbuds. My one and only complaint about these is the feedback / hissing that occurs when in ambient sound mode now and then. I’m guessing it’s the microphones checking your surroundings to adjust the ambient mode accordingly. Not a deal breaker, but I got to mention it. I don’t think it’s a defect but more of a software thing. That being said, for the most part they work and sound great and I think Sony has created another outstanding set of earbuds. I think most people will appreciate these.

Fantastic value with typical Sony quality

The Sony WF-C710N noise-canceling earbuds are a fantastic value, filled with a ton of features that are surprising when you compare their price to other earbuds in that price range. These earbuds reproduce sounds typical of what you expect from Sony: clarity and bass. The two main modes that these earbuds have are Aware mode and noise canceling. The noise-cancelation mode will cancel approximately 75% of all sounds around you if you are listening to music or videos at a low volume. If you crank up the volume, all you hear is your source. With Aware mode, you can hear 80% of your surroundings, and there is a feature in the app that you can turn on to use the built-in AI to shift focus to voice chats. The body material of the earbuds has this fantastic matte-like feel that comes off as strong but very lightweight. There is no doubt that these earbuds will survive drops and remain in great condition. The charging case leaves a little to be desired. The case has the same matte feel as the earbuds and feels great in the hand. The hinge has a little bit of play when closed, which gives me the feeling that if I twist the lid of the case, it could bend out of shape. The battery life of this headset is amazing. Using the earbuds for an entire week, and I have yet to see the Sony app tell me I have lost any battery life. Given how much I have used them for YouTube videos and Spotify listening, I have no doubt that they will not need charging for a long time. One thing that I wish it had was extra ear tips. Of course, the small is too small, and the medium is a tad bigger than I would like. This does leave a bit of ear fatigue with the medium tips, but with the small tips, it basically does nothing to create a seal. All in all, for the price, you are getting some good noise cancellation features and great sound. It's the typical Sony quality at a price that is worth your dollars.

Sony Being Sony (mostly a compliment)

First, these sound incredible. Sony has not missed here; the sound quality is top-notch, as expected. The noise cancellation totally handled the light rail train on my commute, and while I can't say exactly why, the ambient noise mode seems more natural than the transparency mode on other noise-cancelling earbuds I use.
They're quite comfortable. They felt a little bulky handling them out of the case, but they sit naturally in my ear, and I didn't have to get used to them in any way - except that in my ear, they tilt slightly down, so I find myself sometimes tapping the top ridge instead of fully on the side of the earbud. The default tap controls weren't intuitive to me, but are simple enough to reconfigure. The touch controls are responsive.
Setup and connection was simple - no issues there. But all the rest of the configuration happens via the Sony | Sound Connect app - and here's where another familiar story plays out. There are a few great features here, but much of this feels like bloatware. If I were a more dedicated audiophile, maybe I'd feel differently, but I suspect most folks won't have use for a lot of this.
Software stuff I don't need:
- The adaptive & location-based sound control is an interesting idea, but I don't see how it's worth the battery consumption (and just general tracking concerns) to have location tracking always on.
- The 360 audio feature scans the shape of your ear and adjusts audio accordingly - but only for specific (paid) media services.
- The app has pop-up ads for other Sony products, which like, come on.
Software stuff I do like:
- Customized EQ (including one that adjusts settings based on live sound preferences)
- Option to connect to two devices at once via Bluetooth with easy device switching
Overall, these are very very Sony. The sound quality is outstanding. The software alongside it - not so much. But since I listen to them far more often than I need to configure them, I'm a big fan.

These Sony WF-C710N in-ear earbuds sound great, as expected from Sony. I bought the white version, which is a nice change of pace from a few black pairs that I have, although the glass blue ones are pretty cool looking. The charging case is somewhat matte, a nice texture and shape for holding it in your hand.
These earbuds are easy to connect to my iPhone 13. Download the Sony Sound Connect app to customize the sound, and information on the quick access touch controls. These earbuds can be used one at a time, so you can charge one while you are using one, which is a feature I really like. If I’m just listening to these out in public or even at home, that is my usual setup. I want to be able to hear fully with the other ear, even though the ambient mode is really good. As I’m writing this I have both earbuds in with the noise cancelation and it just sounds perfect.
Everything you need to use these is included in the small paperboard box. Charging cable, two other ear tip sizes and QR code so you can download the app. These work with iPhone and Android, and they work with Spotify Tap, which I don’t know anything about because I don’t use Spotify. The packaging itself is sort of a work of art. There is no plastic in the box, the entire box is made of most likely recycled material. Even the stick that skewers the extra ear tips on is made of paperboard! It was really hard to put the ear tip back onto it because it’s just paper. But that’s okay. I appreciate the effort of sustainability.

Sony Noise Cancellation

The Sony WF-C710N Noise Canceling earbuds are really nice. I’ll start with the charging case – it’s like a little capsule, it’s lightweight and sleek looking. The buds themselves are really smooth, I love the way they fit in my ears. No pain, no readjustment needed, just clean sound with very little outside noise disruption. The noise cancellation feature is good. It’s not too much, but enough that you’ll need to take at least one out if someone starts talking to you. Since I use these on my outside walks, I do want to be able to hear some background noise and I find these do allow that – the right amount. You’ll want to download the Sound Connect app. I already had this and they immediately paired and connected to the app. From there you can make adjustments to your sound quality. In the box is the capsule case, the ear buds, a short charging cable and an assortment of little rubbery ear things. I opted for the smallest ones, and they fit me perfectly but the ones that were originally on were fine too. When listening to music you can feel the sound shift in the music where it’s supposed to be and it’s neat to recognize. The battery life has been good, 5 days at 2 hours a day and still going strong. Of course, with the app it will alert you when it’s time to charge your case. If you are in the market for some high quality earbuds these are worth considering!

Sony’s WF-C710N Wireless Earbuds, much like the previous version, are impressive! The active noise cancelation, sound quality, and battery life all built around a comfortable to wear design. I’m pretty sensitive to ear buds so finding a comfortable set is hard for me. So uses a proprietary upscaling technology called DSEE, super helpful when streaming lossy audio! Clear vocals and balanced bass even on less than ideal audio streaming quality. Amazing if you are a bit of an audiophile and can’t wear over the ear headphones all the time.
Comfort is top notch here with the rounded, lightweight design. Expect a snug fit that’s perfect for extended wear. Sony claims battery life around 8.5 hours of playback with noise canceling enabled. The sleek case offers a substantial boost, extending total time to 30 hours. I was really surprised with the quick charge function. With just 10 minutes of charging, I was able to get several hours of playback. Sony claims 4 four hours, but your mileage may very. My new daily drivers and all day on the go wear.
On my Pixel, the Sony Headphones Connect app is easy and provides a pretty seamless experience. The new WF-C710N remains an excellent choice for mid range earbuds and money savvy users wanting quality noise cancelation and great audio.

The Sony WF-C710N wireless earbuds come in a sleek usb connected charging case. The portable case easily fits in your pocket and provides great convenience. The magnetic holder assures you that they are connected and charging. These earbuds fit comfortably in your ear. At the outset, but wearing them all day causes a bit of strain, to be sure. The wireless connectivity is seamless and simple. Open the case remove the earbuds and they are ready to connect to your bluetooth device. The noise cancel feature is second to none. The sound is superior. The bass and equalizer settings are very good. The noise canceling feature can be turned off/on. There is the ability to connect to your device by setting specific ambient settings. This is all possible through the Sony Sound Connect app. Phone calls sound good. Not great, but acceptable. The reason I give 4 stars and not 5 is that the controls are a bit balky and not as responsive as I had hoped. The charge holds for a good long time. I am into 5 days of use and the battery is still holding a charge and running smoothly. This is a very good Sony product and sure to please.

Here is my review of the Sony WF-C710N Earbuds
Comfort and Stability
• The new Sony WF-C710 earbuds are a very good set of true wireless Bluetooth earbuds.
• They are lightweight and comfortable to wear and seem very stable in my ears when walking or shaking my head.
• I have used them for a two-hour listening session and experienced no discomfort.
Battery Life and Carrying Case
• Battery life so far has been excellent.
• The carrying case is not bulky or heavy and fits easily in my pocket.
• The initial Bluetooth connection is done by removing the earbuds from the case.
• Any Bluetooth pairing to other devices is done by pressing a small button on the rear of the carrying case until the front LED flashes blue.
Sound Quality and App Features
• Out of the box, these earbuds have a pleasing sound quality, but I would highly recommend downloading and using the Sony Soundconnect app to adjust the equalizer and take advantage of other features that the app offers.
Overall Recommendation
• Overall I would highly recommend the Sony WF-C710N earbuds.
• They are a great value for the money and offer excellent features such as noise cancelation and ambient sound.
• Sound quality and comfort are also excellent in my opinion.

Great Sound and Incredibly Comfortable!

Highlights:
- Comfortable fit without weighing on my ears
- Great sound for music, phone calls and podcasts
- Adaptive noise filtering worked well in outdoor biking
I picked up the Sony WF-C710N earbuds hoping for a better fit than my AirPods, and they really impressed me. From the start, the fit was noticeably more comfortable — no pressure on my ears, and they stayed in securely whether I was working at my desk, walking, or biking outdoors.
The sound quality is way better than I expected. Music has a nice richness, with solid mids and lows, and podcasts or phone calls come through clearly even in windier conditions. I was especially surprised by how well the adaptive noise filtering worked while biking — it cut just enough ambient noise without completely isolating me from my surroundings.
They’ve also held up well throughout the day with strong battery life. For the price, these earbuds deliver performance and comfort that rival more expensive models. Highly recommend if you’re looking for an everyday go-to with real staying power.

My Jlabs J-Buds died after four years, and this was an opportunity to upgrade to a more grown-up pair of ear buds. For a little more than the cost of the noise-isolating version, the 710s provide pretty decent true noise cancellation. They stay in my ears well enough for short runs (I haven't gotten super sweaty yet to see how well the silicone does vs. foam). I will say, I run with them in ambient sound mode, and sometimes the wind is a bit loud (you need to turn the volume up to be outside in ambient sound mode). Overall, a great pair of high quality ear buds.

Amazing ear buds. I paint for a living so i know good ear buds from bad, they are loud good bass and DONT fall out your ear when bending over or reaching 5 stars! Plus they hold a charge for 8.5 hours.
