I've been using an older ear set for years until it gave out. I've been searching for an ear set to watch TV while my wife is sleeping. It's the most comfortable headset I've used; also my wife usually gets up before me and she remarked how comfortable it was. She loves it more than I do. A great and wonderful product - worth every cent.

I've been using these phones for about a month and haven't found anything that would keep me from recommending them to family and friends. Very comfortable using hours on end watching movies or listening to music. Haven't found the limit yet with the battery even after watching a 2hr movie, leaving them off the charging stand over night and watching another movie the following day :) Very good sound and plenty of volume if wanted. There is a little issue with the volume wheel on the phones...kind of hard to roll the wheel to increase or decrease sound volume. Getting used to it, getting better. In no way would this little issue prevent me from recommending them.

These are really great headphones. No cord to drag around. Only thing is you have to turn tv almost all the way up to hear. Other than that they work great.

My Wifee always was asking me to turn down the TV shows I was watching, during the day, at night, early morning, when ever. It was not me, it was the TV shows that have loud sounds, music, battle sounds, Loud voices or something. But now I plug in the Sony Wireless Headset into my TV and I can turn the sound down on TV and UP the sound on my Sony Wireless Headset and enjoy the show. My wifee loves me for this more than ever. I enjoy the shows even more now. I have a new saying "Headset on and tune out others" Why I never had the Sony wireless Headset before I will never know. They even my have saved my marriage.

These headphones have great sound, good controls, and are very good at blocking sound from being heard outside of the headset.

PROS: The material these are made of is VERY soft and comfortable, even when worn for hours at a time. The sound quality is awesome, and while they are not "noise-cancelling" per se, they do a pretty great job at blocking any other sounds when used. The volume control is right there on the headphones, so there is no need to get up or locate the remote control to adjust the volume. I've also found that they do a great job of containing the sound so that I can sit next to someone wearing them and not hear a thing (unlike most earbuds). Getting these connected to the TV took about 5 minutes (if that). They also work with TVs that only have a headphone jack (typically older TVs), as well as with newer TVs that are equipped with 'audio-out' jacks.
CONS: Even when adjusted to the smallest size possible, these headphones are WAY too big for my head (not in terms of width...). If they could be adjusted just a little bit more, they would be perfect, but due to the charger-connection piece at the top of the headphones, they can only be adjusted so much. If I sit upright, they are fine. It is only when I tilt my head backwards or shake my head that they fall off. However, I might just have an abnormally small-sized head, as this has not been the case with everyone else that has tried them on (both women and men). In any event, I have decided that the sound quality and value outweigh the size issue, and I am keeping them despite the fact that they are a little too big. (Note: I found a cheaper price elsewhere and called Best Buy's customer service line about their 'price guarantee,' which was honored. I ended up paying $79.99, which was an excellent deal.)
My only other issue is that when plugged into the headphone jack on an older TV, you cannot use them while the TV is muted. If the sound is muted on the TV, the sound is muted for the headphones too, whereas by using the 'audio-out' jack, you can mute the TV and still listen to sound through the headphones. However, this is not really a headphone-specific feature (it is dependent on whether your TV has an 'audio-out' jack or a headphone jack) just something to keep in mind if you are buying them so that you can watch TV while someone in the same room is sleeping. Unfortunately the TV in our bedroom only has a headphone jack, so these are pretty useless in there.
NOTE ABOUT INTENDED USE: I originally bought these headphones for use with my laptop (specifically to listen to bar exam lectures at night without disturbing the sleeping boyfriend). I specifically wanted wireless capability so that I could also use them to watch TV at night without subtitles (read: at an audible volume level), and because cords just tend to get in the way (especially since my cat is convinced said cords are the greatest playthings in all the land). Since receiving them, I have ONLY used them for watching TV.
I wrongly assumed that the transmitter would be small and discreet, and very similar to that which comes with a wireless keyboard or mouse and connects via a USB port. That is NOT the case with wireless headphones, as the charging stand also doubles as the wireless transmitter, and therefore is not conducive to use with a laptop.
WARNING FOR THOSE WHO WANT TO BUY IN-STORE (vs. online): I picked this specific model because they were (allegedly) available in my local store for same-day pickup, and I wanted to try them on before buying to make sure that (a) they fit, and (b) that they would be comfortable enough to wear for 10-12 hours at a time.
Neither my laptop nor my TV are bluetooth compatible, so it was imperative that the headphones be wireless but NOT bluetooth-ready (apparently they must be one or the other, which I was unaware of...), which really limited the selection. When I finally decided on this pair, I went to my local Best Buy, and after about 30 minutes of trying to explain to an incompetent Best Buy employee that I was solely there to purchase this particular model (which was allegedly available in the store according to their website), I found out that this model has never been carried in their store, and that Best Buy's "online website has been really off lately" (verbatim quote from the employee), and that I wasn't the first customer to complain about discrepancies with regard to in-store availability of certain products. So if you are planning on purchasing for same-day pickup, you might want to call your local store and verify availability before wasting your time going to the store.

The 2 pairs of Sony headphones that that I got 10 years ago get better reception than the 2015 model. If you had another different kind that I thought was better. I would drive right over to Best right now and buy them!!!

Hi HeadPhoneLover9, we apologize for the frustration and disappointment this has caused you. We would like to recommend to try the steps below to improve the reception or to troubleshoot the intermittent sound issue to this unit. -Change the radio frequency with the CHANNEL selector switch on the transmitter, then set to the same radio frequency with the AUTO TUNING button on the right housing of the headphones -If you connect the transmitter to an A/V component using the headphone jack, lower the volume level on the connected A/V component within the range where the sound is not distorted. -Use the headphones near the transmitter, or change the position of the transmitter. Thank you for taking the time to write a review. Dave

I bought these because I am listening to programs that my wife doesn’t enjoy. I read different reviews and decided to purchase these based on the price, comfort and quality. I was not disappointed. I can wear these for long hours and does not hurt my head. The sound is good, and battery life is excellent. The receiver also charges the headphones and serves as a stand for them. It pairs very easily and I never had a problem with them syncing. I am very glad I made this purchase.

I did not read product review Online before purchase. If I had I would not have bought these - the sound cuts out. Sony will not reimburse the $118.23 I paid at Best Buy, only replace with another inferior set. Best Buy has a very short return policy on these (15 days). Sony used to produce reliable and outstanding products but not any more. This is the last time I buy anything made by them.

I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of these headphones. The sound is excellent, and the over the ear noise reduction is great. However, the layout of my apartment creates a reception problem. Because my wireless modem is so close to where I sit to watch tv, I sometimes get static on the headphones. I'm pretty sure it's because the wireless internet signal is interfering with the signal for the headphones. But, as long as I sit far enough away, it's not an issue. Great headphones for the price! Best purchase ever for marital harmony, btw. My hubby can sleep, and I can still watch my shows. ;-)

Pretty good headset. The sound is very crisp, though it seems easily susceptible to interference; a slight crakling sound can be heard. However, my house is full of wireless gadgetry, so that's maybe the cause.
The only real problems are the weight - though, this is probably not something that can be got around - and the plastic casing seems to ionize one's hair readily. However, my girlfriend discovered that, if you put a cloth between the strap and your hair, the static effect is mitigated substantially.

In general, I like these headphones. The only issues I have with them are: 1- They're way too big; they fall off my head every time I move too forward or back. 2- Although the charge last a long time, there is just no indication as to when the battery will die (how much of a charge it has). 3- A bit bulky. 4- Finally, static. There's a lot of interference when I'm too close to the microwave or the computers while watching T.V. with the headphones on. That said, they're not bad for the price.

I bought these because I have room mates who are students. I read different reviews and decided to purchase these based on the price, comfort and quality. I was not dissappointed. I can wear these nearly all night long watching tv and does not hurt my head. The sound is good, and battery life is excellent. The receiver also charges the headphones and serves as a stand for them. It pairs very easily and I never have a problem with them syncing. I am very glad I made this purchase.

The headphones have very good sound quality for general TV viewing. Simple to setup, simply plug the base unit cable into the 3.5mm headphone jack of a TV or AVR and plug in the power cable on the base unit. It has three channels to select from, it's easy to find the clearest one. The headphones are comfortable and recharge when placed on the base unit. I'm sure there are better units at higher prices, but these are terrific value at this price point.

I purchased these because they were wireless and compatible with my television set up. The wireless feature works wonderfully. They fit pretty comfortable overall, but after a few hours the weight becomes a factor. They are also like all over the ear headphones I have used make your ear sweat. Sound quality is pretty much what you would expect from Sony.

'Phones are comfortable, sound quality is high. Battery life has never been a problem. The dedicated RF wireless connection avoids all the hassles that occur with wi-fi and bluetooth, particularly long latencies that can put sound noticeably out of sync with video. The cable that connects the base station with the audio source is inspired; it has RCA connectors on one end and a stereo mini-plug on the other, so it will connect to almost any source device. The base station (transmitter) accepts either type of plug, so you just connect the cable end not used by the audio source to complete the hookup to the base station. This device also avoids the problem noted for some competing products, namely shutting off the transmitter after a period of disuse, requiring a manual restart at the transmitter end. Also the volume control on the phones works independently from the TV set, so you can silence the TV speakers while enjoying high quality audio, at any volume, in the headphones. This product was designed by engineers who really understand what consumers want and need.

Bought this headset for my husband who has hearing problems. Now he can watch TV when he wants to. Tried another headset, but it was not wireless and he kept getting tangled up in it. He said it is comfortable, lightweight and now he can hear everything that is going on. Now everybody else can relax and not be blasted out of the house while he is watching TV. Best purchase ever!!
