Great speaker for home, travel or just relaxing by the pool. Bought one about 18 months ago and the sound quality is still great, so when my son’s speaker went out I bought him one as well and he loves it. It can be paired to multiple devices, the battery lasts several hours and I definitely recommend.

Love this speaker. This is my second one. It has a full, rich sound, and it's 360 degree sound. You can also connect up to 100 together, and it's waterproof. Also, you can control the color display with an app on your phone. I would highly recommend it!

I’ve tested a lot of Bluetooth speakers over the years, and while Soundcore might not have the recognition of, say, JBL or Sony, they make great speakers and headphones at a great value. Soundcore is a sister-brand of Anker, maker of some of the best-rated chargers on Amazon. ## Design The Soundcore Flare 2 is one of my favorite speakers by the brand. While the LED lighting might be gimmicky for some, I'm a sucker for LED lights and think that it adds a bit of a party ambiance to the speaker. There are two RGB LED light rings on the speaker: one located on the bottom and the other on top. There are several pre-programmed animations that can be accessed by tapping the "light" button or by downloading the Soundcore app to your phone. The round design of the speaker allows you to enjoy your music from any angle and the fabric covering gives the speaker a modern look. ## Sound Quality The Soundcore Flare 2 sounds great with clear mids and highs. The bass on the Flare 2 is also fairly strong and can be turned off and on with the optional "Bass Up" button located on the back of the speaker. The bass is not as heavy as some of the more expensive speakers from Sony, for example, but I believe the bass is strong enough for most people. ## Features - Lighting modes: There are several lighting modes for the two LED light rings: Party Time, Phasing Beats, Bouncing Beats, Circle Beam, and Cool Breath. The lighting modes can be changed by tapping the "light" button on the top of the speaker, or by using the Soundcore app. The app also gives you some additional options for the built-in animations, which are mainly just selecting different color options. The lights can also be turned off completely. - Party Chain: You can link the Flare 2 to up to 100 other Flare 2 speakers. Please note that this not True Wireless Stereo sound as all of the linked speakers will play the same thing (not one specific audio channel). - Water resistant: The Flare 2 has an IPX7 rating, which means it can be submerged in water (up to 3.3 feet) for up to 30 minutes, making it ideal for listening to music pool-side. ## Battery Life The Flare 2 can last up to 12 hours on a single charge with the lights off, or about 9-10 hours with the lights on. The speaker can be recharged with a USB-C cable (which is included) and a powered USB port or charger (not included). ## What's the difference between the Flare 1 and the Flare 2? The Flare 2 adds an additional light ring on top and has a slightly stronger bass response than the the original Flare (1st generation). The sound output is also louder on the Flare 2: 20 watts total on the Flare 2 compared to 12 watts on the Flare 1. ## Summary The Flare 2 is a great all-around speaker with great sound, decent bass, and awesome LED lights. It is water resistance, has long battery life, and can be wirelessly connected with additional Flare 2 speaker (to to 100).

This Soundcore Flare 2 speaker is a product of Anker and I've used a bunch of their other products in the past and have always been impressed with their build quality, I just haven't tried out one of their speakers yet. Unboxing and setup: The speaker is packed in a nice Soundcore logoed box and inside there the speaker, a USB C charging cable and manual. I immediately plugged it in and let it charge for a good hour before doing anything else. I also installed the Soundcore APP from the android store while I was waiting. After charging I started the app and turned on the speaker, it connected through Bluetooth easily and immediately stated there was an update, so I proceeded to let it go about its business. This process only took a few minutes and then the speaker was ready to go. Use: The app for the speaker has some nice settings, there's the light control setting and an equalizer setting "you can use presets or create your own". I didn't really get into the settings through the phone app that much as I mainly wanted to use this speaker with our TV or projection unit. First off I paired it with our Visio TV, it doesn't have built in Bluetooth but I use an external Bluetooth transmitter and it connected without a hitch. The sound was quite impressive for such a small speaker. There's plenty of bass which surprised both of us, and it a lot louder than our little Sony speaker we've been using for years, it's pretty much on par with our larger LG unit. The amount of volume this little guy produces is quite amazing; it gets way louder than either of us will ever need. Next I paired it with our projector and the same non issues pairing it with our TV. It works perfectly, no delay or stutter in the transmission and sound is very clear "and loud if you want it". Conclusion: I really like this new Soundcore Flare 2 the sound is excellent, and has more bass and volume than either of us expected. The light show is pretty cool if you like that but we are keeping ours off as it's distracting for watching movie "great for music listening though", and there is an ambient light setting that we would use that just keeps the light on one color and doesn’t dance around. I also like the fact that this speaker stands upright and with the bell shaped bottom it’s really sturdy. I really don't like the cylindrical shape of our Sony as it's always rolling off something when we move it bump into it or whatever it’s sitting on. My only complaint is with the buttons on the top of the unit, they are very hard to see or feel without looking, it would have helped greatly if they had more of a tactile feel to them. It's almost impossible to tell what they are by feel, but if they would make the power / volume buttons stand out more then they would have created a nearly perfect little speaker. This is still a 5 star unit in our book and if you are looking for a compact great sounding Bluetooth speaker then you should be pleased with this little Soundcore Flare 2 speaker.

The Soundcore Bluetooth speaker is a really nice portable speaker. It connects via Bluetooth quite easily. The sound quality is very good. The bass is impressive and sound quality is clear. Very happy with the speaker.. The unit is sleek looking and has a series of lights along the 2 rings (one on top and one on the bottom) that 'dance' to the sounds. You can switch light patterns through the app or on the unit itself. My unit is black in color. There is an app for which there are basic controls including light controls . Build quality is very good. Control buttons are on the top of the unit. The speaker charges by USB and gives a 12 hour operation time frame. I do wish that could be longer, but with the light rings I fully understand. The speaker is waterproof. It is voice assistant capable. As with all of these types of speakers you can answer the phone through the speaker. Not a big thing for me, but may be important for others. This speaker is clearly a winner and anyone buying it will surely agree.

We have a different bluetooth speaker which sounds okay. I was expecting this one to be mediocre. I was pleasantly surprised. THE GOOD ~The sound is very robust--especially with the bass boost ~ Volume gets loud ~ Cool lights ~ Waterproof (I didn't actually test this part, but it has rubber seals so I will take their word for it) ~ Easy to pair with phone ~ Easy to use controls ~ USB-C ~ Good distance capability with bluetooth THE BAD ~ I can't think of anything THE MEH! (Could go either way) ~ I can't think of anything here either OVERALL When I first got this, I was excited. Even the box it comes in looks cool. Their marketing and design division did a great job. The first thing I checked was the charging port. Everybody is going to USB-C, but there are still a lot of companies out there using Micro USB. Fortunately Soundcore went with the former. I turned it on and It was already 60% charged. So, I plugged it in and easily paired it with my phone to play some tunes. I listen to almost every type of music from Classical to rap. As soon as the first sounds came out, I was surprised at the richness of the sound. A lot of BT speakers I have heard have been tinny like old AM radios. That is not the case here. From soft rock to rap to punk rock, the sounds were very good. There is a dedicated button to change the light colors ringing to top and bottom of the speaker. You can set different colors or patterns. As such, you can really make this a part of the room or make it stand out as a centerpiece at a small gathering. When my wife came home, I turned it on for her. The first thing she said was, "Wow, that looks cool." I put on a song. She said, "Wow. That sounds *really* good." So, clearly, it *wowed* her too. LOL If you're looking for a good Christmas gift for someone who likes music, I would definitely suggest this one. It would be great in a kid's room, an office, a living room, or on a camping trip. I love it. PS: Please ignore my nasty mantle ;)

Nice sounding Bluetooth speaker with lights

What I like: It's easy to set up as you turn it on and then pair it to your phone. It's waterproof which makes it great to use outside. For how small it is you do get a nice sound out of it too. The app is also easy to set up so you can control the sound and lights, and even though it asks you to login you can skip and use it. I didn't get to try the party mode where you connect multiple speakers, but if you are trying to play on more than one speaker it would be good. What I don't like: The lights didn't sync well to the music, and mostly just annoyed me. Luckily you can turn them off either by pressing the control or by using the app. The app works but doesn't do much outside of the lights and equalizer. I also would have liked to have an option to connect to wifi, to make it a smart speaker; this is a personal preference, but it's the reason I won't use this much compared to other smart speakers. Overall: Good Bluetooth speaker with lights, but nothing special.

Really good size speaker that fits in most cupholders. The waterproof is really handy because that makes it great for boating/kayaking/pool/etc It was very easy to set up and the potential to pair more devices (up to 100) is very appealing to large hangouts. Sound is great, even when maxed, doesn't get clippy. The kids love the ability to change the colours. makes for a fun accessory in the playroom I would like to get a couple more to be able to daisy chain. I've seen videos online of people linking 100 together, but i think 2 or 3 more would be fine.

You can find my full review of this product here: (https://youtu.be/_DFCHiRxTFU) BUILD QUALITY/AESTHETICS: The entire middle/side of the device is covered in a cloth type material. The top and bottom have 360 RGB lighting and are covered in rubber. The bottom has a bit more grip than the top. The top has your main controls such as power on/off, increase/decrease volume, multifunction, and change lighting button. All these buttons require severe force with very little give to notify you it has been pressed. So, I’m not the biggest fan of them. On the back of the device, you have your Bluetooth button for pairing, along with the button for “Bass Boost”. These buttons require light force and easily notify you they have been pressed with a crisp click. Which I quite enjoy. Last under the flap that is labeled “Flare 2” you have your USB C charging port. Even in a well lit room these buttons are extremely hard to see. It would have been nice if all of them had LEDs under them. The Power button does have a small LED to notify you it is the power button. There is also a tactile raise to each of the buttons but they are a bit hard to feel. On the back the bass button is depressed with an arrow and the Bluetooth button is lit up so that is easy to find. Overall, it is a simple design that I find very aesthetically pleasing and feels high quality and solid in the hand. It is lightweight, and the height is about the same size as my iPhone 12 Pro and the width is just a bit wider. Add that to the IPX7 waterproof rating that allows it to be fully submersed and you have got yourself an extremely portable wireless Bluetooth speaker. CONTROLS/PAIRING: You power on the device by holding the power button for less than two seconds. Once it turns on it will make a little jingle along with turning on the LEDs. I wish it would automatically mention how much battery it has left. As that is missing and there is no where to check that except on the device you have it connected to. And even that only shows a battery indicator without a percentage. To turn it off you press the power button for more than two seconds. Pairing is simple and straightforward. The first time I powered it on it automatically went into pairing mode. If that doesn’t you press the Bluetooth button, the Bluetooth LED will then flash blue and make a jingle. Then you turn on whatever device you want to connect it to, select it from the list, it will make another jingle notifying you it is paired, and the Bluetooth LED will turn solid Blue. If you are wanting to connect it to other Soundore devices via PartyCast you’ll need the speaker to already be connected to a device. Then you will hold the Bluetooth button for greater than three seconds. The LED will go from Blue to flashing White and you repeat the process for however many devices you have. This supports over 100 devices to be paired together at the same time. Which is crazy. However, the good ol’ Bluetooth can only be paired to one device at a time. It connects very quickly to a previously connected device. To switch devices quicky it’s faster to press the Bluetooth button and then select it from the new device. As selecting it while it is already paired to another voice will bring up the message that it cannot be connected. The multifunction button is on the top of the device with their Logo of a fancy D. If you press it once it will play/pause, twice it will skip forward, three times it will skip back. If you hold it for greater than two seconds it will activate your smart assistant. If someone is calling if you press it will answer the call. If you press it again during the call it will hang up. To decline the call, you hold it for greater than two seconds. Volume up and down have no special functions. To turn on Bass boast the LED will be on. With it off the LED will be off. This leaves the final button which is the lighting button. If you hold the button for greater than two seconds it will turn off the lighting. If you press the lighting button it will cycle between several presents which are labeled “party time”, “phasing beats”, “bouncing beats”, “circle beam”, “cool breath”, and “off”. If you go into their SoundCore App you can select these presets instead of cycling through them to save time. If you press the preset in the app it will take you into another screen that allows for some customizability. This only gives you preset colors and you DO NOT have a color wheel you can select from. The closest to static lighting it gives you is the “Cool Breath” setting that will light up and then go dark like it is breathing. Which is unfortunate as I think people would enjoy being able to select a static color of their own choosing that wouldn’t turn off. Which brings us to the App itself. It is called “Soundcore”. It’s a simple and basic app. But it’s aesthetically pleasing, intuitive, and easy to operate. SOUND QUALITY: I was quite surprised by the sound quality. As they can trade some blows with speakers that cost $300. Which means they are punching way above their weight class. Which is not to say that more expensive speakers are better just these guys do a great job for their price point. I found that for vocals they were a lot better if you turned off the Bass Boost and changed the Equalizer to Voice. Otherwise, I left the EQ at “Default”. Overall sound was slightly better with Bass Boost off. But if you are listening to a song with a lot of Bass it hit a lot harder with it on. For this price point, and with it being a Bluetooth speaker, I think they sound excellent. In audiophile terms. They sound airy, with good balance, crisp sound, and good detail. Sounds are natural with a mild amount of processing. Imaging is nearly non-existent. Soundstage is small but it fills the room. Sound is more forward with a fun tuning. It focuses mostly on vocals and then instruments but you can hear both with mild focus. Highs and mids sound good. But the mids have a bit of bloat and congestion. Highs are ever so slightly sibilant. Bass is present and accurate. It doesn’t bleed over into the other sounds. But it will not be considered good for those bass heads out there. It is more enjoyable with Bass Boost On but it causes increased muddiness/bloat in some vocals but mildly so. I didn’t notice any bloat or brightness and only mild congestion, muddiness, harshness, and sibilance. Again, for it being a Bluetooth speaker at $70 it performed extremely good. You won’t be doing any critical listening with this guy. But that isn’t it’s purpose. It’s to add ambiance and get people pumped up which it does well and makes the perfect companion next to a pool or in the shower. CONCLUSION: For $70 I think they bring quite the punch. It feels and looks like a premium product. The RGB lighting is bright and accurate. The sound you get out of it hits above it’s weight class. It gets plenty loud and is extremely portable. Battery life is good. It has good customization along with an equalizer. I really don’t have anything negative to say about it except for the buttons on the top being very hard to press and hard to differentiate.

Just like many others, I have quite a few wireless Bluetooth speakers at this point. That being said this Soundcore Flare 2 stands out from the others I have due to its awesome form factor and cool lighting rings at the top and bottom. On the back, you will find a flap that opens to reveal the USB C charging port as well as a button for pairing and one for Bass boost! On the top are the play pause in the middle then a volume - and + as well as the power button. The flare 2 has good sound for its size and gets fairly loud and that's coming from a guy that likes his music loud and clear! I also love the size of the Flare 2 and find it very easy to hold in one hand comfortably which make it easy to carry around and transport in my backpack. The Soundcore Flare 2 is unique and I find myself wanting to use it all of the time! I would definitely recommend it to someone that is in the market for a Bluetooth speaker this size and even as a gift to someone that does not know they want one yet.

This blue tooth speaker is excellent! When received, the packaging spoke of high quality. Opened and charged the speaker - with the supplied USB to USB C cable. Use a standard USB charger. Turning on, there are colored light effects around the top and bottom ring. Paring was easy, both with phone and tablet. After paring, started playing music - then came a big surprise. This little speaker has great sound, and very impressive bass for such a compact size. And reaches volume levels that can be heard throughout the whole house. Also, the lighted rings modulate to the music - quite a neat feature.

Everything that you need on a small portable speaker is well implemented on the Soundcore Flare 2. It has a nice balance of functionality, durability, and features. Out of the box the sound is great for a 20w speaker. If you decide you don't like the way certain music sounds you can download the app and change the EQ the way you want it. I will say that this speaker doesn't offer that much bass, but considering the size it is understandable. i would recommend going for the Flare+ if you want more bass. Anyways the body is made of rubber with a metal mesh protecting the speakers. The size of the Flare 2 is similar to that of soda can just a bit taller. The speaker is also IPX7 certified meaning it is splash proof, and could be submerged but would not recommend. The battery is also really good, lasting about 10 hours at full blast, and also more importantly it uses a Type C charging port. Most features can be controlled through the app as well so if want to change the lights, view the battery life, or change the EQ it all can be done through your phone. I will say that Anker has done a really good job with their speakers and i would highly recommend them to anybody looking for a portable speaker

I bought this for a beach trip and wasnt disappointed. Sound quality was really good. Id say on par with my sennheiser head phones. Has as much bass as you would expect out of a small speaker but the bass boost gives it a moderate boost without distortion. Sand and water didnt bother it. Battery life was also good. 50% volume with the leda on i got three full afternoons of use without needing to recharge. I only got one so i dont know how linking multiple speakers together sounds but i will eventually get some more. I bought this becaue the sonos i bought is a pain to use. One last thing. Range is like 30 ft max. Keeping my phone in direct line of sight made a difference but i kept it close for best use.

360° degree speakers have been around for quite sometime now . Anker is no exception. Under the Soundcore brand, Anker released the Flare in 2018 (and its sibling the Flare+). Now in 2020, Soundcore has released the Flare 2 (There is no Flare+ 2.). It still retains the 6.4 in height and a diameter of around 3.5 in. It still has the IPX 7 rating meaning that it can be submerge for 30-60 minutes under water but does not float. It also retains the mesh lining and on top you can find the controls. The main noticeable difference between the original Flare and Flare 2 is that there is now a top ring light. The controls are also on the top and the includes the power switch, up and down volume controls and the light switch on/off switch. In the center is the button to pause/call button. In the portion you can find the USB-C power port. Note that there is not line-in port. On top of that is the bass boost button and a Bluetooth pairing button. And note that you can pair this with other speakers too. Like other Soundcore speakers, the Flare 2 can be connected to an app which can control volume settings and light settings. And since the Flare 2 doesn’t come with a manual (just a quick start guide), an online manuel is available in the app. As for sound quality the Flare 2 has a warm and crisp sound. Fidelity is on par with higher priced speakers. The bass sound however seems lacking even when bass boost is turned on. But fortunately there is a customizable equalizer on the app. So that should not be a concern. Overall, the Soundcore Flare 2 is a steal given its price point and can give the branded speaker a run for the money. I’d highly recommend this speaker.

I've long been a user of Bluetooth speakers, JBL Flips, Bose Sound Link, UE BOOM, you name it I've tried them. I have to say for the cost that like anything ANKER it exceeds expectations! I bought two of these and the sound is crisp and clear! It has a good battery life and achieves what one intends and you can link numerous to extend the distance and really make it a party! I highly recommend this and anything by ANKER or their affiliate companies!

Lights are no big deal and I leave them off. The sound for it's size is great. It does have a equalizer so you can get the sound you like, although the presets are excellent. As far as bass and depth of sound, I bought the Motion X600 and it's clearer, but because I live in an apartment, the Flare 2 is more than enough and could get complaints made if I jammed it. 2 of these are better, 3 is best triangulated, but although I have 4, I only really use one.

I have used Anker Soundcore speakers for a couple of years now. The sound is quite good. When I saw a great deal on the Anker Flare 2 bluetooth speaker, I was interested but wasn't sure if it was really more just gimmicky with the flashing colorful lights. It was not. Instead was super pleased with how good the music sounded. It is a major step up over the Soundcore 2. I definitely recommend this speaker. Crisp, clear high range, solid mid-range, and excellent low range. Also there is an app that includes a mixer.

I would recommend this to a friend
