Specs were great fit for me. battery life seems fine. It is light weight and quite thin. Very compact. I seems to run a bit hot when kept on lap. Fan is not loud most of the time.
When I took it out of the box it had several scratches on. The top is not very sturdy and even though it is matte it is a finger print magnet.
Overall it is a very nice laptop for a daily user.

Intro:
After searching for a perfect laptop this fell into my lap. This may just have everything I want or need.
In the box:
HP Spectre x360 laptop, Power adaptor, Case, Instructions and Manual.
Appearance:
The HP Spectre x360 convertible has a beautiful design. It is a piece of art because it is well designed with quality in mind. I know it can easily out do or go toe to toe with any of the top competitors.
Setup:
The Spectre x360 comes charged so you can just power it on and start your setup. It is about 10 minutes for a complete setup.
Performance:
The Spectre x360 is a 8th generation Intel Core i7 processor and 256GB drive. This is a powerful laptop and it already have the windows 10 installed. I can do anything that I want from quick web browsing to working on a project. I continue finding new features as I dig in. It transform from a laptop to a tablet now how cool is that. This is touchscreen so the possibilities continues with this 13.3 Spectre. The touchscreen is smudge resistant because after using it my screen is still looking great. Everything seems easy to locate and if you are having trouble finding something you can always ask Cortana.
Price:
It might feel like it’s expensive but you get what you pay for in this case. If you spend the same amount with something equivalent in price you will not get the features and power that this have. Most of the competitors are still not using i7 processor.
Features to like:
Facial log on, laptop to tablet, Bang & Olufsen speakers, Backlit keyboard.
Closing:
I love this laptop and I cannot say anything negative about it. Everyone have their own expectations but I will suggest giving the Spectre x360 convertible a test drive. I do not think you will take it back or have any remorse after knowing how good it is. This feels good while handling it and right underneath your fingertips you have a powerful HP x360 that help you get just about anything done.

Best 2-in-1 on the market

I recently received the HP Spectre x360 laptop. Below are my thoughts.
Design:
This has to be the coolest looking 2-in-1 laptops on the market. The silver finish and sharp edges makes this a slick polished looking computer. The hinge design on the display works pretty well but I do wish it was a littler stiffer to not allow as much movement. Another thing I like is how thin the computer is. It measures 12.03 x 8.58 x 0.54-inches making it the thinnest and lightest 2-in-1 computers on the market.
Display:
The 13.3-inch full HD display is bright and colorful and looks fantastic. I really like the thin bezels around the screen.
Performance:
The Core i7 processor and 8gb of ram makes the computer fly. Multitasking and watching movies was a breeze. The computer comes with an intel HD graphics card that gives you decent gaming capabilities. It's definitely not ideal for full time gaming. Battery life has been fantastic on this computer. I'm averaging about 8 hours using the computer during the day for work related activities.
Audio:
I love the quad speaker setup by Bang & Olufsen. It delivers crisp and clear sound.
Keyboard/touchpad:
Keyboard is well designed and works very well. The touchpad is a very good size but I noticed that there was not a left or right mouse buttons. That is a huge bummer.
Overall this is a great computer with an excellent design, screen, and performance.

Overall this is a decent little computer. The size is good if you're looking for something small to carry with you or hold comfortably while you work. The screen folds smoothly and rotates automatically when you change positions. It seems stable when positioned in an inverted V as well. However, when you pick it up in the traditional position the screen is prone to folding back which makes me worry about how well the screen will retain the ability to stand up straight over time.
The fan is quiet and unobtrusive. The keyboard will light up, but isn't excessively bright, which is helpful when I'm working in the dark with someone trying to sleep. I miss having a number pad, but there isn't room and to include it the keys would have to be uncomfortably small. As it is, the keys are a good size. The mouse pad has a good feel and is responsive, but has no buttons which makes scrolling difficult without using the touch screen. I find it awkward to go between the two. Having directional arrows helps.
The touch screen is a nice feature for when you are using it in an inverted V, or as a tablet. It's very reflective (as you would expect of a tablet), so there's a glare on it at all times.
I like the metallic feel. It gives it the impression that you are holding something of substantial quality despite its comfortable size and weight.
The software is very familiar to me as I have another computer with Windows 10. It does include some bloatware; mostly games.
The sound isn't great. It is workable, but has a tinny quality, even with the bass turned all the way up. I would recommend headphones for anyone doing a lot of listening, or anyone who needs good quality sound.

I purchased this computer on Jan 30th 2018 and am writing the review on Jan 16th 2021, so almost exactly 3 years of daily use.
I have used this computer for school and it worked excellently.
The battery life is great, it runs the programs very smooth, and it is extremely lightweight and portable.
After school it transitioned entirely into a work unit. No highly intensive programs, but I typically have between 15-25 tabs open all at once, including google services, a property management program for hotels, several email tabs, and various 3rd party websites, and it handles them seamlessly.
The screen resolution and speakers are great as well, though I never got much use out of folding it into a 'tablet' or using the pen.
I'm going to list every single issue this device has given me in the last 3 years-
2 weeks ago it froze for the first and only time so far, resulting in me turning it off and on again and it working fine.
About a week ago the speakers stopped working dependably. Headphones and blutooth are fine, but the built in speakers will be working one moment and then cut out the next. I am not sure if this is a software issue or hardware, but I was sure to update all of my drivers and its still giving me issues.
The rubber stoppers on the bottom of the computer started peeling off around 6 months ago and one came off entirely. Super glue seems to fix the issue but I am all out at the moment.
Shortly after the first year of ownership, one of the fans stopped working, resulting in the computer's safety features kicking in to protect the rest of the computer and shutting it off to keep it from overheating. 1 year is of course the standard warranty with purchase, but they allow you to purchase the extended warranty for an additional year if you purchase it within the 2nd year. It begins at the end of the first year standard warranty. I purchased the extended warranty, sent it off, and when it came back I didn't have another problem until the speakers and the 1 time it froze up on me.
That is every single issue I have experienced in 3 years of ownership with this unit, which I think bodes well as my experience has been that non Apple computers tend to only last around 2 years.
It has slipped off my bed a few times without breaking (18in drop to the floor) and I regularly carry it around in my backpack, so while I won't say that its highly durable, it is durable enough to withstand light bumps and daily wear and tear for years.
Its battery life is still good enough to watch Fantastic Beasts completely through and still have gas left in the tank.
It does get pretty hot when watching netflix or otherwise streaming, but its heat dispersion designs seem to work extremely well.
All in all, as it still runs extremely smooth after 3 years of ownership, I am very happy with the device and would absolutely recommend it to others.
I love the combination of battery, screen quality, and a sleek slim easy to manage size, coupled with how reliable it has been.
I am probably going to purchase a new HP Spectre model to replace this one in the near future, but for an average of $600/year for the life of the device, you definitely get what you pay for with this machine.

I've had this laptop about 5 months now and figured I should finally do a review. I LOVE this laptop. It runs photoshop, has ok palm rejection on it. It's not perfect, but it's pretty good. I don't experience any draw-on latency with it. I use the HP Tilt pen since I got my laptop open box at Best Buy and the stylus was missing. The laptop is very quick. Starts up from boot to login and to desktop in about 12 seconds, or so iobit tells me. I'm not usually an Intel fan, not having had great luck with the efficiency of their processors in the past, but this thing is fast! 8GB of RAM seems to be plenty for photo processing, word, processing, ect. I have not played any games on it, but I would say that 8GB as of 2019 is probably min recommended for most mainstream games to run smoothly. What I really love about this laptop is it is thin, lightweight, quiet, and runs very cool. I bought a cooling pad for it and honestly I haven't really needed it. I've probably owned 10 laptops over the last 12 years, HP, Dell, and Lenovo, and I've always had issues with overheating. That can happen for various reasons including usage, but I have not had a single issue with this laptop getting too hot. I can also use this for probably at least 8 hours without fear of the battery dying.
Pros:
Touch screen enabled
Some palm rejection
Low to no pen latency
Runs cool and quiet
Lightweight
Fully convertible
HP has been selling the Spectre line for quite a while
Cons:
The finish on this smears really easy. Can be remedied with a vinyl skin if you wish
No HDMI out, but you can purchase a third party adapter
It is my opinion the current brand new condition price for some of the models is a bit high
Overall, I am very glad that I purchased.

I love this laptop. It had my eye on it for a long time. I took advantage of a great sale and bought it.
It has everything I could ask for; responsive touch screen, SSD, light weight and long battery life for travel.
The best thing is the very short start up and shut down time. It's fast!! So, if you shut it down and forgot to look up something it takes a very little bit of time to bring it back up.
It was a good purchase all the way around,

Blazing fast stunning display far and away blows out the competition. The stylus pen is so accurate that you feel as if you’re using the real thing, it is absolutely unbelievable. The stylus pen is so accurate that you feel as if you’re using the real thing, it is absolutely unbelievable. This 2 in 1 is perfect for your every day businessman to your part-time college student especially if you’re on the go . The only reason I gave it four stars instead of five is because of all of the crapware that most computers allow Microsoft to put on these days.

Coming from a Microsoft Surface, this is a bit heavier and doesn't disconnect from the base, but I knew both those things when I purchased it. However, it's also more stable and the keyboard is so much nicer to use that it more than makes up for those two items. Besides I usually use it on a desk so I didn't need the 2-in-1 so much but I do like the touch screen capability. I haven't used the pen so I can't speak to that, but battery charge lasts awhile. It did run super hot on the factory settings so I Googled it and found out how to alter the settings to reduce that and since then it hasn't been a lap burner at all. I finally found a case for it. That would be the only other con is the lack of cases and I definitely need a case! Overall thumbs up and I'd purchase again.

I just purchased this computer last month and so far so good. I love the thin and sleek design and the fact that I can carry it in my totebag. Great for doing school and work related tasks. I would have given it five stars but I just think it’s a bit pricey for HP and not crazy about the sleeve that came with it. Other than that, it’s a descent computer.

I bought this computer for work because of it's form factor for traveling and it really is just a sexy looking computer compared to the "business" notebooks that HP sells. I really wish that HP made a decent dock to go with this machine for the office. I did purchase an HP universal type dock and it makes the fan run quite a bit on the machine which I've noticed doesn't happen when just plugged into regular power. Overall, I really like it. The screen is beautiful and the keyboard is very comfortable to type on.

Suggested laptop: model #: NP930MBE-K01US and sku #: 6332955. Only $800 rn while writing this and almost exactly the same specs, capabilities and features. So I started helping my girlfriend research laptops and brought my purchase up for comparison and couldn't believe its already been over 2.5 years since I bought this. Maaann!! Time sure does fly! I still remember how excited I was for this bad boy after using a dinosaur, virus-laden, barely capable. overheating like crazy 7ish year old macbook as a graduation gift and this being the first laptop/ over a $1,000 in one shot tech purchase I was ever able to buy let alone comfortably afford after getting a good job out of college. Anyways, anecdote aside, 3 years later and this girl still purrs. Windows 10 is really solid (although email notifications can be super annoying) not sure if it's a settings thing however so that could be subjective. The size, the power, the 2 in 1 (although pretty heavy as a tablet obviously) but super lightweight as a laptop are great. Can heat up some but nothing too overwhelming or crazy. Still handles multitasking beautifully and im not sure I've ever had a single hard crash and I've barely ever had to reboot it from chugging or getting overwhelmed. Don't use touch screen too much when in laptop mode but still awesome to have it and super useful for long articles/ scrolling or when late at night and tired instead of clicking around or general convenience things like that. For any novice/low capability needing users ranging to moderately high needs/ knowledgeable users who don't want to completely break the bank going for top tier $1500ish or more I really can't recommend this enough. Not sure if still selling this model, but found a really good suggestive laptop with almost identical specs/capabilities in Samsung model #:NP930MBE-K01US and sku #:6332955 if anyone is interested. This is the one I'm really suggesting for my gf (remember her) to get given it's on sale for $800 rn and I paid $1175 total for mine 3 years ago and still runs and handles amazingly and am still finding new features for this thing all this time later haha

At first I was thinking if I should switch it out with something else, but I just love how this laptop is really fast and can be used as a tablet too. The 360 rotation is really convenient, especially when I want to watch movies while laying down, or on my side. It loads webpages and browsers really fast even though i got lots of tabs open. The sound of the fan can be really distinct when you use the laptop while charging, and it sometimes make a subtle sound even when youre not charging it. But that doesnt bother me because it’s so subtle you could barely hear it. The battery life is pretty good too. I tried using it to watch movies and it lasted for about 10 hrs before I had to charge it again at 12%. Also, the screen can be wigglely and not as sturdy but I think that can be a guven because it has to be flexible enough to do a 360 rotation. One thing though is that you won’t find many options for hard shell cases for it. Again, I’m guessing it’s because of the 360 rotation that makes it hard to find one, but other than that I am really happy with this laptop!

This computer is blazing fast compared to the old technology I came from. But I find the mouse pad is too sensitive (it sometimes deactivates) and requires a heavier push than most mouse pads on other laptops. The fans sometimes kick in for easy tasks. Also the hinges are strong, but not as strong as in other 360s I viewed.

Only had for a week so far. Very happy with my purchase. So far lived up to expectations I had from reviews I read online. Aside from performance your would expect from the specs: sound from the speakers is unexpectedly good; no heat issues which was apparently an issue with the side venting of last year's model; does not charge via USB c with lower voltage chargers - heard that may work with other higher voltage aftermarket chargers and power banks but have not tried yet.

I bought this for my wife who wanted a convertible laptop to use personal use. This has a nice small form and is lightweight. Excellent battery life and comfy keyboard. The touchpad required driver updates to work properly. Fast, light, convertible to tablet form, good keyboard, great battery.
