Runs my sisters cad very smoothly and very clear. It’s light and it’s cheaper than a MacBook Pro especially with these specs. We love the way it looks and it’s light weight not like the MacBook Air though.

This is my second Windows Laptop after switching back from Mac 3 years ago. My previous laptop was a Dell Inspiron 5000, which worked fine for the past 3 years and was plenty fast, but the build quality just wasn't very good (I guess what should I expect for less than $700). In any case, it was time for a new laptop.
Now that I was comfortable with Windows I decided to splurge a bit and get something with more build quality and much faster, and this fit the bill! It is a well-built fast machine, that feels elegant. The screen is very bright and the colors seem true (I am not an expert). I use the computer for programming, primarily Java, but also some JavaScript and Python. It handles all programming tasks without breaking a sweat...including running Docker and the Windows Linux Subsystem. (Note I did upgrade to Windows Pro because of my extensive use of VMs -- well worth it).
After about a month with this laptop, I can say it is the favorite laptop that I have ever owned (including 3 MacBook Pros). The only thing I would change is the driver for the touch pad. HP uses the Synaptics Touchpad and driver instead of the Windows Precision Touchpad and driver. I do prefer Windows Precision but it is a very minor complaint in my book. I'm very happy with this purchase.

Love the speed and the battery power is incredible! I can watch 2 movies before thinking about charging it!
I really considered the Mac Book, but I am so glad I decided against it! Mac lost due to the lack of touch screen! It is larger than many laptops but super light!
A bit pricey but in the end worth every penny!

This was purchased for back end development and it worked very well and was quite adept at keeping up with the needs of development. I could have used a little bit more memory, 16gb was not enough in some cases and HP did not offer a 32gb option. The stand alone Geforce MX graphics card provides disappointing performance.
Pros:
-Very clear screen
-Touch Screen
-Fast Processor
-Provided Stylus was very useful
-Sturdy all metal design
-Great battery life
-Keyboard feels very sturdy
-Trackpad is well placed
-Fantastic placement of USB C
-HDMI connection
-Fast SSD
-Striking design! It does not get old
Cons:
-4K resolution does not play well for some programs, making them hard to see on such a small screen (not too bad though)
-Keyboard is shifted to the left and is hard to get used to (could have done without the num pad)
-Could not get Geforce graphics to play well when other monitors are hooked up via a USB C adapter
-Would have like an option with more memory and better graphics

I purchased the first one to use in my accounting office; I was so impressed I bought another for my assistant. The style, mobility, size, weight, clear screen, speed, SSD and many other features make this an excellent laptop for small business utilization. I recently added a third to use as a dual screen while entering data for clients - not sorry!

Researched many different brands and models. This one had the best mix of speed, performance, style, features for the price. Purchased for child entering college. It will perform better than required for her engineering program. Great choice. Recommended.

I recently purchased several of these laptops for a client. Their performance and the appearance make them one of the best choices in their respective class. This is a slick business grade work horse. As long as you are not heavy into graphics and do not need a gaming machine, this laptop offers impressive performance and amazing screen. The battery lasts long, the noise level is very low and the heat dissipation is quite modest.

I've owned laptops from HP, Lenovo, Asus, Acer, Dell and Toshiba. I haven't been loyal to any particular brand as I always purchase based on needs and the specs/feel of the specific computer. This Spectre is a joy.
A couple of nit-picky things ...it does blow warm air out the side vents. It lacks a toggle to kill the trackpad when using a mouse. And the 4k screen isn't as bright as others - but still an excellent picture. One does need to be aware certain Adobe products don't play nice with 4k and you may have to adjust your screen resolution to accommodate the software. Oh, as there's more USB C ports and only one USB A port, you may have to buy some new cables.
The upside? Quiet. Fast. Backlit keyboard. SSD (512gb) and NVIDEA graphic card - so the 16 gb of memory aren't shared. The "optane" memory is pretty much a marketing tool, as it's caching benefit isn't really used with solid state drives. I just haven't had any issues with the start-up, set-up and upgrading of this laptop. I'm new to USB C .... but it's flexibility is impressive. I've used it as a charge input as well as a charging output and connection to external devices.
I liked this machine so much....raved about it so much ... my boss actually bought one for himself!

Let me start by saying I've been a loyal HP shopper for years. I've never had any issues from them, and I only end up buying new laptops because I always want something new. HP Customer Support is AWESOME if you ever have any issues as well.
Now to this laptop... I bought this laptop because I'm a software developer full time and I'm pursuing my MBA part time. I needed a laptop with enough memory to handle remoting in to work when needed along with something easy to use for testing for school. This laptop is the best of both worlds! I also love that you can use it in tablet mode which definitely helps with taking notes, reading and highlighting e-books, etc. The new fingerprint scanner is a MAJOR upgrade from the ones about 4-5 years ago, and I love the facial recognition as well. You can't go wrong with this laptop.

I have had it for a week now and this computer is a powerhouse. I use it for work and home and love the speed and the design is top notch. Very elegant. I been a MacBook Pro user for over 8yr and I wanted a change and I knew windows 10 was much better then when I used windows 8 or vista which was horrible. Yes love windows 10. I am very happy with this PC and would highly recommend it for students or office.

I purchased the HP Spectre X360 15 based on capabilities, user reviews and price. This laptop has worked out even better than I had hoped. I had been using a nine year old 18" ASUS laptop that finally died and needed a replacement.
Although I use and really like the Microsoft Surface Pro for an ultraportable, mine didn't have enough RAM or storage to do the multitasking that I typically do. I looked at this HP system and it costs about half of the equivalently equipped Microsoft Surface Book 2. Since I wanted a 15" screen, the HP Spectre fit the bill well.
What really swayed me was the Thunderbolt 3 port on this PC. When returning to the desk, this laptop is connected to a Cal Digit TS3 Plus thunderbolt dock and becomes a desktop replacement. With just a single cable, it handles video, audio, Multiple USB connections, data transfer and even an SD card reader on the dock. The dock also has 85 watts charging power which charges the Intel i7 (8565U model) CPU through the same thunderbolt port and cable. I don't even need to use the HP power supply in this configuration.
I was a little concerned about the fact that the SSD and RAM can't be upgraded since they are directly soldered to the main board, however I use external NAS storage for most everything and the fact that this PC can take a Micro SD card eliminated the storage concerns.
I have only used this PC for about a month, but is the nicest laptop that I have ever used.

Easy to set up, it has a good battery life. I only used it for school work and for light internet usage such as watching youtube videos, or a bit of online shopping. The touch and tablet function is a nice feature compared to mac laptops which is why I chose a Windows laptop in the first place. Overall great laptop.

I got this laptop about a month ago for my son to take to college. So far, it has been great. The screen is very clear and bright, and the machine has plenty of power for all tasks. My expectation is that he should not need anything more than this for the next four years. It is not important to me, but the black with gold accents does look pretty cool.

The computer is a great laptop. It's fast and I love to put it in the tent configuration and attach a larger keyboard when I have a serious project. I also enjoy the touch screen. It's the best of all worlds between a desktop, laptop and tablet.

Two things to be aware of that I've noticed after 1 month. First screen brightness is not good enough for outdoors if in the sun. Second the track pad does not read your figure swipe sometimes. I would say it was a defect but when you do your research it's a known issue do to the type of trackpads tech they use. Third there are little spacers on both sides of the laptop for when you close the screen so dont put weight on the laptop when closed. It either puts micro dent in the screen or leaves behind a residue you cant get off because I can see it when I wet the screen to wash it and I can feel it when I run my nail down the screen. You can not see it otherwise as of now. Other than that most info is reported on YouTube reviews. I do like the laptop but would o ly buy if on sale. I got mine for 1300 which seems fair. Oh also comes with some bloat ware and intrusive stock settings so take your time to set it up if you get it.

Just an excellent computer. Very high end and looks the part. The screen is gorgeous. No glitches so far..the keyboard has a great feel (8 out of 10 maybe) I'm quite sure the lower models would have been great..but this thing flies with that optane memory. I definitely recommend.

I bought this laptop a month ago and it has been great! It did shut down on its own a few times the very first night I turned it on and started playing with it, but it has not done it once since and I’ve been using it daily for hours because of school so hopefully there is no need to worry on that in the future. It is a really nice looking laptop with great features, it is a bit on the heavier side so be aware of that. This was definitely an expensive purchase, but one to save for and get as I hope it will last me through my next four plus years of school!
