Fun flight game with star wars theme. Took a few tries to get the controls down but it's a fun and fairly easy going game.

Just recently started playing this on my Xbox One X but so far it’s absolutely wonderful! This gives me flashbacks to my childhood when I had the GameCube at age 4 and one of the first games I had was Star Wars Rouge Leader where you’re able to pilot your own Star Wars ships and such and fight. Truly great game and it’s bringing back lots of fond memories I have of playing older Star War titles. Wish EA could make every game they have like this. Truly a knock out of the park and the graphics are incredible. Story mode so far is nice and the sound is incredible “Astro A50s”. Definitely happy with my purchase and would recommend this to anyone!

The disc has a big imperfection which doesn’t allow the game to be played. The Xbox displays an error message. Will hopefully be able to return or exchange tomorrow.

Game is almost 4 weeks out. If you like SW buy it. It is fun. If you like flight sim game buy it. If you expect more DLC don't buy it. If you don't like glitches or bugs every so often don't buy it. If you still decide to buy it make sure grab a headset with mic and play with other on the game. Otherwise it is bored. Yeah... you gonna hear some rando guys talking trash but after the game is over they go bye bye... this is a game for $40 have fun.

So far I absolutely love this game. The controls can take some time to get used to, but before you know it you’ll be flying like a pro! The story is great and the multiplayer is even better! However, there is one flaw that takes away the competitive aspect of this game, and it has to do with the weapon loadouts. There are a variety of weapons you can equip to your star fighter that best suits your play style, although there are some that I feel give an unfair advantage, especially if it’s used in an abundance. The weapons I speak of are the “guided” weapons. Instead of the player manually controlling their gunfire, the guided system takes over and automatically aims for the player. Although this weapon variation does less damage, it still gives the player a huge advantage. I understand this is an appropriate weapon variation for new players, but I do not believe it should be allowed in competitive play. It seems cheap and unfair to those who want to test their skills to the max. Regardless, that shouldn’t keep you from buying the game! It’s extremely fun, especially with friends!

I love playing star wars games, and Squadrons is the way to go. Nice game play and graphics. SImilar to the orginal Star Wars Rogue Squadrons franchise for Nintendo Gamecube only better better graphics and game play. You can choose two sides: X-wing or T-Fighter for your game play and story.

My Squadrons Review

Star Wars: Squadrons is a beautifully designed game. The controls are pretty good, the aiming/firing is accurate and the gameplay is pretty flawless. Not much lag at all. The story is interesting, as it swivels between the rebels and what’s left of the imperial forces. There is certainly a lot to like about this game however I found myself bored after a while. It may not help that I had just finished playing Jedi: fallen order. That came was excellent, fun to play, continually kept my interest piqued and had some great performances.
Comparatively, squadron feels like a one trick pony. You literally spend the entire game flying and shooting at things. And while I knew that coming in, I still was hoping for a little bit more. Maybe like mixing in some more feet on the ground play. Because of the incredible graphics, and the dazzling gameplay, I still give this three out of five stars.

Worthy successor to the legendary X-Wing series

At its core, Star Wars Squadrons is a 5v5 multiplayer arena game, but to those of us that grew up playing games in the classic X-Wing series, it'll feel like a trip down memory lane. Each of the eight starfighters you can fly feel distinct from one another, and some light simulation elements like power management, shield positioning, and equipping aftermarket systems helps the game feel like a successor to the old X-wing games with modern ease-of-use improvements. The story mode may be short, but it has some interesting and varied combat, but the true star is the multiplayer, especially fleet battles. Finding a team that works together to take down a Star Destroyer is a blast, and you'll want to do it again.

With Battlefront 3 being massive on many fronts and fulfilling a great multiplayer experience. Fallen order giving me that one on many total Jedi experience in single player. Squadrons is a great mix of both. Satisfying single player, set within the classic struggle with all the nuanced drama. A smaller multiplayer with a 5vs5 brings the number of people down to a more personalized feel. Power diversion in this game changes dynamic quite a bit, more power to shields, switch power to weapons, then speed, countermeasures. Ect. Keeps it changing at full speed while you feel fully engaged as an integral pilot on either side. $40 buck pricetag makes this an easy pick up. Anyone could just pick up and play but for any Star Wars junkie, it's already a foregone conclusion and the money is already out of your pocket.

WOW ! This is a really great game! I do enjoy the feeling of actually FLYING, and for me, it wortks great with just a keyboard and mouse.
I am 62 years old, but satill enjot gaming as much as anyone! This game reminds me of the older versions of X-WING, TIE FIGHTER, etc back in the 90's, but is agreat updated and interactive version! Even the simple game mechancis of allocating the energy to the different systems of your ship puts the feeling of being right in the cockpit!

This game was a Christmas gift for my son.
The graphics are sweet and the sound is theater like. As for the game play. This game is your typical first person shooter. However it all takes place in either the empire Tie-fights or the Rebel’s X-wing fighters. If you’re a Star Wars fan and want to play a game that won’t feel your second job. Then this game is for you.

This game was a decent value for the money. I am a Star Wars fan, so I was interested. It was fun for a while, but I didn't stay with it very long. My guess is that it is very cheap to buy right now.

I still remember fondly the days of playing X-Wing and Tie Fighter vs. X-Wing on my PC. This takes me back to those simpler days a bit, albeit with much better graphics, better sound, and an updated experience. Unfortunately, a game pad is no substitute for an old fashioned flight joystick, however. I still cannot decide which control layout makes the most sense.
One thing that I found hurts the experience is the story itself. I'm not sure what it is, but I have not found the story to be engaging or compelling. The gameplay is repetitive. Watch a mission briefing, go fly around and blow stuff up, repeat. The game gives you the opportunity to customize your ships to a certain extent, but I have yet to figure out what the difference is between many of the options. Unfortunately, as a result, I have not been playing the game much because I have not found it to be compelling. I remember the old Tie Fighter vs. X-Wing game and flying for Darth Vader. That was cool. This, on the other hand, is repetitive.
It's a fun game, but the story is not the best, in my opinion. Thus the four stars. If you like flying games, the Star Wars universe, and blowing stuff up, the game does deliver on those.
