This is a fun addition to the Star Wars saga. It's not a high stakes epic like the trilogies, but it's still fun to watch. This movie is first and foremost a pilot episode of the TV series of the same name, and it serves that function very well. The movie takes place between episodes II and III, during the war between the Republic and the Seperatist Alliance. The focus of this movie is on action rather than political intrigue like Episode III. The action sequences are all exciting to watch and are very well animated. There are stunts in this movie you'd never see in the live action movies, the battle where Anakin Skywalker and the clone troops acsend a vertical cliff is particularly exciting. Many of the familar Star Wars characters are in Clone Wars and are faithful to thier live-action counterparts. Anakin and Obi-Wan behave much the way they do in the prequel trilogy as do C-3PO, Yoda and Count Dooku. New characters are also intruduced in this movie, particularly Anakin's Padawn Ashoka Tano. This movie may have been aimed at younger audiences, but long-time Star Wars fans can enjoy it too. Clone Wars sets up the TV series nicely, and the TV series gets better with each episode! This is a different spin on Star Wars, but is still faithful to the saga long-time fans love. For a fun and action packed movie, Clone Wars is an excellent choice. May the Force be with you!

Star Wars: The Clone Wars is one of my favorite TV series and it begins here. The Cone Wars takes place between Eps. II and III, this film can be considered Episode 2.5, and tells the tale of the war between the Sepeartist Alliance and the Galactic Republic. Obi-Wan Kenobi and Anakin Skywalker are the heroes and the movie introduces Star Wars fans to Asoka Tano, Anakin's Padawan (apprentice). It starts with the evil Count Dooku kidnapping Jabba the Hutt's son, the Republic sends Anakin and Obi-Wan to rescue the huttlet in the hopes of stopping a Seperatist plot against the Republic. There's lots of action in Clone Wars in the form of space battles, ground based combat and some really cool lightsaber duels. All the action and excitement you expect from Star Wars is here. Clone Wars does a great job of creating intense action scenes that are non-violent. Proof that action and violence do not always go together. The quality of animation is quite good. Rather than going for realism, Clone Wars goes for a very stylized look. It's hard to describe, but it looks great in the movie. The movements of each character and vehicle are smooth and fluid. The backgrounds are all expertly rendered. The high quality of the Blu-Ray transfer makes the animation look even better. Everything is clear and well defined throughout. The sound is great as well. From thunderous explosions to a nice musical score. The music is different from the Star Wars trilogies, but it is still faithful to the feel of Star Wars and I always enjoy listening to it. The score is more percussion and ethnic music oriented than the trilogies. Not trying to copy John Williams was a very wise move. The Blu-Ray is as great a sound experience as it is a visual experience. This Blu-Ray could have used more extras, there are the DVD extras and an interactive feature, but some more features would have been nice. The Clone Wars is action packed! The animation is awesome,! This is a story about one adventure Anakin, Ahsoka, and R2D2 have while the clones and droids battle it out. This story introduces Asajj Ventress, a Sith assassin. She carries two red lightsabers and is bad to the bone. When the closing credits rolled, I was ready for more. The Clone Wars is a must have DVD for any Star Wars fan. Sit back, enjoy, and may the Force be with you.

This movie is about Anakin Skywalker and his new padawan (student) thwart Count Dokoo's plans byrescuing Jabba the Hut's infant son. I don't like this film near as much as the "real" Star Wars movies, but this movie is still pretty good. Something negative I noticed about this movie is that it felt extremely short. I think I would have liked it better if it had lasted longer, and it had more action/fighting scenes. Other than that, this movie is okay, but not great.

I like the fact that this gives me an idea of what happened between attack of the clones and revenge of the sith movies. I really had hoped that my son would like the movie but he found it rather boring. He's hung up on madagascar right now. Overall a fun movie to watch, maybe not for buying. Probably wont have a lot of rewatch value.

I am glad I waited for DVD to see this. I wouldn't pay to see and hour half movie, especially an animated one. But other then that, I found this movie to keep my attention and had some kiddie humor here and there, but other then that it seems to pick up where episode 2 left off and tells us more of the rise of the republic.

I've been a Star Wars fan for years & my son just started getting into it as well. Having the animated movie, along with the TV series, my son absolutely loves it. I plan to buy the TV series on Blu-Ray soon so we can catch up on the previous seasons.

This was a great movie. At first, I felt obligated to take my son to theaters to see it. But after the movie started, I couldn't leave my seat!!! I am getting it for our family for Christmas! I really liked the integrity of the Star Wars characters and the movie had some really funny parts. NO rude humor or profanity!! I recommend it to any family, especially if you like Star Wars!!

When I first saw the commercial for this movie, I got all excited. Then, I saw commercials for the Cartoon Network premier. Thought why pay when I can see it for free. Figured I'd wait for it on dvd. Needless to say I was disappointed. It's ok, wasn't impressed. As a huge Star Wars fan, I have to say this was the most disappointing one. Not sure if I was too thrilled at watching Star Wars in an animated version either. I prefer live action. Seems to me, if it keeps going like this, I might not like Star Wars anymore. I mean how much Star Wars stuff can George Lucas throw in our faces before we get sick and tired of it. Seems like he's just trying to sucker us into spending more money. Once that second trilogy was done then that should've been the end of it.

Any Star Wars fan will want to see this. If you have been watching Star Wars on Cartoon Network then this is the video to get. It gives you how things started with Anakin and Asoka. A definite must for anyone.

The movie itselfs is really good, there are little parts in it that could have been taken out. but over all the was good, the clones were awsome. The dvd has tons of extra's, a look at the upcoming first season of the clones wars on cartoon network. look at the voice actors, a tribute to clones, called" the clones are coming"

I've wondered what exactly went down in the Clone Wars, or basically what happened between Episodes II and III, and this movie (along with the action-packed TV series) helps to answer that.

The cg isnt as good as the tv show that followed but still was a great way to finally get back to the star wars universe. Good introduction to all the old main characters + key newbies.

What an awesome deal I had a gift card for my birthday. I saw the deal online today went into the store and found the product for less than half price. The only downside was that the dvd insert was missing but that was not really a big deal.

Clone Wars is a fun film and the whole family will love it. If you're a hardcore fan of the entire Star Wars saga, then this will be for you. It's harmless fun!

My son has watched this over and over again - and has gotten me to watch it several times too!

Fairly disappointed in the overall quality of the entire movie. Horrible picture format for my hdtv(doesn't fill the screen). My 6 year old loves the real Star Wars but said she didn't really care for this one.
