This set nicely collects the original 6 films on blu-ray in one small box. Also included is a disc of extras that isn't available in either of the trilogy collections or the individual film releases. I have only watched Return of the Jedi so far and I have to be honest, I wasn't really all that impressed with the quality of the picture. I guess I just expected more from the high definition format. Also a disappointment is the exclusion of the theatrical cuts of the original trilogy. The quality of the changes made in 1997 doesn't hold up and is jarringly out of place and obvious. They almost need to be re-remastered at this point. Lastly, I would have liked digital codes for these films to be included. On the other hand, the packaging is great. All 7 discs clip into their own spaces and fold up compact to take up about as much space as two individual blu-ray cases together. All 6 films are in 1080p high definition which, despite my earlier comment, I'm sure is a vast improvement over earlier DVD releases.

Although episodes 1-3 are what they are the quality is amazing on your 1080P TV, however, content on a 4K is unreal. Literally! And here lies the problem. In the "original" trilogy 4,5&6 there has been content added. That content added is CG (computer generated) and is extremely noticeable the higher quality the content is being displayed on. Lasers, explosion, extras, and new scenes look funny side by side with the original footage. I found it a bit distracting. I can't blame the product for the directors bad decisions. But you should be aware if you are a super fan like myself. The extras and commentary are awesome. There is some new commentary I haven't heard before in previous trilogy versions.

Someone who has never seen all the Star Wars movies, I found this set to be really well made. All of the older movies where remastered In Dolby digital THX, and although I could tell a small difference between the you newer three movies and the older movies as far as sound the difference or minuscule. Bought this about a month ago and have watched all six movies and I'm ready for the one coming out November 20

I think that "Star Wars: The Complete Saga" are the greatest classic films of all-time and they're also my favorite classic films of all-time. I also think that the films of the first and second "Star Wars" trilogies helped to establish and explore all of the events, history and origins of the entire "Star Wars" universe including having a lot of entertaining and enjoyable action, mystery and suspense with really great and amazing casts and personal/political storylines as well.

This is truly a must buy for all Star Wars fans. The package is beautiful. The artwork is stunning. It contain all 6 movies plus two bonus discs. I found the extra content for the newer trilogy lacking, no true insight. But the documentaries for the original trilogy are excellent and a must for all star wars purists. That being said, the original trilogy contain the Director's cut versions, with new special effects and scenes that crippled the original films. However, I still recommend this collection!

My wife had never seen Star Wars and after visiting Hollywood Studios she wanted to see the complete saga. I had her watch it just like to came out, starting with #4 and finishing with #3. We had a 2 day fun filled time. My wife had such a good time she insisted we go to the movie to see the Awakening. If you never have seen the complete saga this is the way to go. Even though it brings up some questions by watching it the way it originally came-out, it is the best way to see it.

I have owned Star Wars (at least those episodes that had been released at the time) on VHS tapes, Laser Disc, DVD, and now Blu-ray. Each version has had better quality than the previous. They video and audio on these discs is excellent. What else could you want 3D? 4K? Well, eventually the set will be reissued for 4K and maybe 3D, but for the foreseeable future this is the best set available.
I have not gone through the hours of extras yet, but they seem very interesting.

Definitely recommended for Star Wars fans. This is the third time I have purchased the Star Wars movies. First the original trilogy on VHS, then then the first six episodes on DVD, and now the complete saga on Blu-Ray. The jump in video and audio quality from DVD to Blu-Ray is not as great as from VHS to DVD, but the films do look better on Blu-Ray on a modern 1080p flat-panel display. The Blu-Ray set also has updated disc menus and three special features discs.

Like many of you, I am a Star Wars Geek, and having this in Blu-Ray makes this an even better series to own. The reduced price that I purchased it at made it an even sweeter deal! Get it now before it goes up. Watching Star Wars in Blu-Ray makes it even more enjoyable! Every detail is refined to give you the ultimate experience than when you first saw the 1st ones in the theaters "A Long, Long Time Ago...."

Everything but the "real" versions...

Having grown up on the STAR WARS films, it is perhaps needless to say that I find Lucas' tampering with his own excellence totally unnecessary. I went to see the redux versions in theaters in the late 90s & was pleased enough, but will always love silly things like the Ewoks singing "Celebrate the Love" at the end of JEDI rather than a new age drum circle.
So I'm not a hater of these "new" versions, and I do understand Lucas when he explains that he prefers these versions AND, more importantly, it would cost millions to restore to HD standards the original trilogy, having already done so once with the new batch.
So knowing I'm not getting the OG editions, I wholeheartedly recommend this set as the finest edition these films will ever have for the home market.
And I'll never get rid of the shoddily presented original versions that were on the double-disc DVDs of episodes 4-6 as "bonus" features.

Star Wars on Blu-Ray, what else is there to say. The Star Wars films are so important to my being, that I have owned these movies on VHS, DVD and now Blu-Ray. When they are inevitablty released on 4K Ultra HD Blu-Ray, I willl again open my wallet and say take my money. The bonus features on this blu-ray release are different from what was on the DVD set, so that's a plus for repurchasing these movies.

This collection is the greatest SFI movies of its time. Simply ahead of its time and priceless. I love that it has been put on Blueray and preserved in such a great quality. I love it and have loved these movies sonce I was a young man. The addition of the new series of the movies to the old ones have been done greatly and I recommed it to anyone that likes these kind of movies. The price was also great. Can't go wrong with Starwars.

This set of The complete Saga makes for a great collection if you don’t already have one. This is a 9 disc set of the 2015 versions. Movies look exceptionally amazing in blu ray and the sound is great too. Although it does not include the original theatrical versions of Star Wars movies, it still is a good buy.
If you are not finicky about the George Lucas alterations, go for it!

Not Enough Superlatives.

No superlatives in the English language can do justice to the description this production so desperately deserves. From the prequels through the original trilogy George Lucas and his team do a stupendous job of engrossing you in a galaxy that you wish so deeply to be a part of. Now brought to Blu-Ray this production is more than worth the gouge in the old wallet.

Put simply, I'm the definition of a Star Wars Fanboy. There's literally nothing I could ever say bad about this purchase... except this: I HATE that Lucasfilm edited Boba Fett's voice in the original trilogy to match that nonsense Maori accent of Jango in AOTC, and likewise can't stand that Hayden Christensen is Anakin's Force image at the end of Episode VI. But that's not the fault of this Blu-ray set! I love it!!

I got rid of all my Star Wars DVD's years ago, tried to wait until a BluRay set came out with the original theatrical versions included, but couldn't hold out any longer and bought this set. Best video I've seen of Star Wars, and glad I finally broke down and got this, but now that I did, I'm sure that will trigger them coming out with another set with the theatrical versions at last......you're welcome!
