I have a MacBook Pro with only the USB-C interface. I needed a very quick way to move data from micro SD card from my drone and SD from camera to the MacBook Pro. This device fits the bill perfectly without requiring any other adapters (should not need one in the first place - thanks Apple) It also has a slot for the larger but older SD card should you need it. The data transfer rate is very speedy. I am extremely happy with this card reader.

I needed a card reader to transfer videos to my computer and the StarTech reader seemed to be the better of the two choices Best Buy offered. It worked instantly and transferring the video files was unbelievably simple. This device works very well. Instructions are easy - just make sure you eject it from your computer properly, whether it be a Mac or PC. I don't have much more to say, except I highly recommend this device!

New Lenovo laptop did not have SD card slot. I need to process pictures from DSLR and this works great.

Nice heavy duty cable, could be a little longer. Copy speed seems fine.

Purchased with MacBook Pro for my photography. I use both SD cards and CF cards. Works great for my SD cards, a little tight for CF cards. Downloads photos quickly.

I have tried out card reader and found the USB-C connection to be faster than my old USB port reader. Connection to a USB-C is quick and easy. Will update later when I use some more.

My use is only for the CF card reading for my Canon camera. Haven't tried the other cards but so far for the CF cards it's great. I also like the attached cable. Plug in to the computer and another into the reader gives 2 places for failure. Hardwired into this unit eliminates at lest one potential bad connection.

Hard to find these things, but this one is exactly what I wanted. Love the USB-C.

This StarTech card reader does what it is meant to do. Have had no issues so far. Having a hard-wired USB C-type cable is a plus so I don't have to find it when I need it.

After a decade of not needing CompactFlash cards, I purchased a new camera that required the use of them again, so I had to buy a new card reader. While doing my research, I was impressed by the transfer rate of this card. I saw less expensive readers, but the transfer rates were slower, and when transferring hundreds of massive RAW files, speed was vital. I especially liked the fact that this reader utilized my USB-C port, which allowed me to use this device without unplugging a device from my other USB ports. Highly recommended.

Not much to it. Reads my sd cards quickly for viewing my trail camera pics
