Not impressed with price to features. Doesn’t wake up when you move it. Has to be physically clicked. Other mice are much better at the price and don’t need AAA batteries. 2023 Li Ion is the way to go.

Overall a great mouse with excellent battery life and enough programmable buttons for my needs. It fits comfortably in the hands and you can in a way adjust the weight by limiting having the option to either use 1 or 2 batteries out of the 2 AAA slots that are available. You also have the option to either utilize a usb receiver or Bluetooth however you have a bit more customizability on the SteelSeries GG program when utilizing the usb receiver. The feet glide very well on the desk mat and the mouse is easy to disassemble if need be. The one con I have with this mouse however, which I may have just been unlucky with was that after about a month the scroll wheel input started intermittently skipping and either moving a few ticks up or down when only scrolling in one direction. Luckily the problem was solved by removing the top of the mouse and slightly moving the metal clip to the left of the wheel to not be so close/tight when scrolling. After slightly moving it away with a paper clip, the scroll wheel stays smooth and tactile during up and down scrolling and works perfectly.

I picked this mouse up to use with my laptop for work and on the road. The Bluetooth is quick and works flawlessly once paired, same can be said for the 2.4ghz dongle. Having both options makes flipping between my work and gaming laptop a breeze when I'm staying in a hotel. Nice and light, and is so far holding up extremely well being tossed around and carried in a bag with minimal protection in the mouse pouch. My previous wireless glorious mouse had a broken scroll wheel after just two week and ran twice the price.
The Steel series software uses minimal resources, is easy to navigate, and makes setting up profiles a breeze. If you can snag this thing on sale like I did, it's absolutely worth every penny.

The rival 3 is a really nice wireless mouse that isnt that flashy. It is very reposive, light weight, and fairly priced. It does run on batteries, but i think that its more of a strength than weekness as you dont need to worry about pluging it in when it when it runs out of juice (something that doesnt happen often).

I recently made the switch from a standard mouse to the this lightweight mouse, and I couldn't be happier with my choice. This mouse has become my go-to option for both travel and light gaming, and it has proven to be a fantastic addition to my setup. Fits perfectly in my hand, offering a comfortable and natural grip. It offers a level of performance that suits both work and light gaming needs. Finally having both Bluetooth and Radio Frequency (RF) is perfect if i need to switch between the two.

Scroll wheel breaks after a few months

These are generally great mice, but SteelSeries seems to have a particular problem with their scroll wheel encoders, causing their scroll wheels to become less and less usable within a few months of normal usage. The wheel will start scrolling the other direction every few clicks (like if you scroll down ten notches, it’ll randomly jump back up 2 or 3 notches) and it makes both work and gaming very difficult on these mice.
At first I thought it was just my particular unit, but after it happened to both my SteelSeries mice (this one and a Aerox 3 Wireless), I found numerous other user reports about this happening across many of their models:
https://old.reddit.com/r/steelseries/comments/zyh8c5/aerox_3_mouses_scroll_wheel_is_acting_up_any/

https://old.reddit.com/r/MouseReview/comments/1jeyx56/aerox_9_replacement_scroll_wheel_issues/
And here’s a person who fixed the problem only by swapping out the encoder hardware:

Their RMA/repair process is terrible (requiring you to physically destroy the mouse by ripping off its buttons, creating e-waste in the process).
Although I love their mice otherwise, this is a big deal IMHO because the mice are basically unusable after a few months :(
I hope they will use better parts in their future revisions. It's otherwise a great mouse.

The Rival 3 is a great shape for claw grip so it’s nice to have a budget wireless option as well without having to go all out on the Aerox 3 Wireless. I ended up gifting this mouse to my cousin and he’s been enjoying it!
Pros:
- Amazing shape like I said earlier
- Amazing build quality (absolutely no rattle or creaking on my copy)
- Great feeling main buttons and scroll wheel
- Feet glide surprisingly well
- Good sensor performance and no lag observed using the 2.4GHz connection
- Clean RGB only visible on the scroll wheel
- Great value at $49 or on sale
Cons:
- Coating is a bit slippery (I’d recommend getting grip tape)
- This is the heaviest of the Rival 3/Aerox 3 line because of the batteries and it’s also back heavy

pretty good mouse, I expected more battery charge, but it's not that bad. Eco mode makes the batteries last very long, but I don't use it because I am an edgy 17-year-old who likes RGB lol. It's not a bad mouse, a tad expensive for what I got, but it does work very well. The steel series engine is amazing so that's great. But looking back I probably could've just bought a cheaper mouse and played video games fine with it. I still would recommend it though because of the fact that the engine is so good and the changing of the sensitivity is really easy. But if you're just looking for a mouse, I would just buy a cheaper one.

I have been using a wired mouse with programmable keys on my desktop for several months to edit videos. I wanted the same functionality on my laptop, which has SteelSeries for its built-in keyboard.
I programmed <pause/play>, <volume up>, and <volume down> into the default quickly enough. The <sensitivity toggle> was an unexpected bonus. I look forward to easily adjusting sensitivity when I want more precise mouse movement.
I have been using Microsoft 4000 mice for years, so it will take a bit to get used to the lower profile of this mouse.
The battery-saver feature is also a Godsend. I frequently walk away from my mouse for hours and forget to turn off the mouse. Yes, you do have to click a button to wake the mouse up. I've learned that lesson in less than a day.
I cannot speak to battery life, but I will give SteelSeries bonus points for including brand-name batteries.
My laptop only has one USB port, so I connected it to BlueTooth. That was easy enough. I am currently using the RF frequency. Time will tell which I will settle on.
The off-connection button is tiny and very tight. I found it challenging to stop it at OFF. It's loosened up some already, and I am getting better at it.
I would definitely recommend this to a friend who wants the extra features it has.
