Great movie...especially for the women viewers. To think that is how women first got the vote...amazing the trials and tribulations they had to go through..I highly recommend this movie.

Well acted and good history lesson about a period I knew nothing about.

This movie is excellent. It does a great job of evoking the look and feel of the period in England when the women's suffrage movement escalated its efforts to draw attention to the cause of voting rights for women. The acting is good, the character portrayals very believable, the scenery and costumes realistic, and the plot line is credible and well-done. Although this movie is no substitute for reading history about the English women's suffrage movement, it is a very good example of historical drama that combines good entertainment with reasonable fidelity to history.

The movie "Suffragette " is an important film (especially for the younger generation , many of whom are unaware of the long struggle by political activists to obtain for women the right to vote). The film focuses on the British suffragist struggle in 1912 and actress CAREY MULLIGAN gives an emotional portrayal of an "average working woman" caught up in the struggle.MERYL STREEP is in the film only briefly but, as she always does, gives a powerful performance,

This movie makes clear in a very gripping way what agony women in early 20th century England had to go through to get the right to vote. Carey Mulligan does a great job of portraying the personal sacrifices women had to make to get to vote. In fact the movie does a great job of portraying the suppression of all of women's rights in early 20th century England.

Suffragette is a unique and historically presented piece of information that is added to (quite well) for dramatic effect. People in this age sometimes forget what happens in times past and the many struggles that humans have overcome to be modern citizens of the world.

a great movie depicts the terrible working conditions of the time the attitudes towards women was terrible. a group of women upset the status quo their perseverance the humiliation of been jailed treated like common criminals did not deter them from the cause at hand

If you think you have an idea about how woman were treated while they fought for equal rights, guess again. You are in for quite a shock. You will never look at the subject of fighting for equality the same after you enjoy watching this superb movie.

I am a history buff and really enjoyed seeing this movie. My only complaint was all the advertising prior to movie; annoying. The women in the story really took a beating. Our women's right to vote (U.S) was nothing in comparison.

While this was set in London, the same kinds of struggles were happening in the US around this same time. It is interesting to see the struggles and what happened for women to get the vote in England. If you like history, this is a good one.

A well done film for the most part. True to the events of the time .... Gritty. Passionate. Carter had a complex role she played effectively. Streep had only a cameo, but she captured the quirkiness of the time and the character.

This movie is great to show the younger generations what women went through for there voting rights and a good reminder to older generations why we need to continue to vote

Despite the fact that Meryl Streep is only in the film for a brief cameo or two, the film is well acted and directed as well as entertaining and informative.

I thoroughly enjoyed learning about the plight of the blue collar British women during the early 1900's This movie educated and entertained simultaneously.

It is a great movie due to the historical factors and the great acting of the many actresses in it, however, the movie advertises Meryl Streep as a main character and she is barely in the movie.

Knowing the history behind this movie helped give the characters the depth needed to appreciate the excellent writing and acting
