I was looking for a low cost accessory for wife's Nikon 5000 for Christmas. This arrived within the delivery time expected before the big date and performed great for the pic. She had no problem with it--just snap it on, turn it on, and take pix. The diffuser lens that snaps out is a plus to prevent hard shadows. She has yet to need new batteries, and this over a month since. The LED setup screen is user friendly. And she likes that it shuts itself off after 15 minutes of non use. In all, an excellent product.

Sunpak Works With My SLR Nikon TTL + AF

I love how this Flash Unit works right along with my Nikon camera (very compatible) for half the cost of a Nikon Flash..... Since I didn't want to spend that much $ on a Flash unit.... Sunpak pz 42 xn does the job .... My main reason for getting this flash is that you can bounce the light from the flash with it either way, vertical or horizontal. Very much a plus for being Creative with the camera. After using it for a while, I found out that it works up to about 130 feet, if the light in the room is half way decent. Always nice for showing the whole room, or in church, at a wedding.
The fact that you can step down the power, in the manual mode all the way down to 1/64 power, is a plus for needed close ups. After going through the modes and with trial and error, this flash can handle just about any type flash work that a person needs to do, over the on board flash the camera has. It's OK if you take a picture of some one two feet to four feet away, the camera flash works fine, but after that ......NOT.... Besides it uses up you camera battery way to fast.
Overall, This flash unit is an all around useful tool for adding light to your photos. It's a great add on creative unit, And I like it very much. I added on a small item that works great with the Nikon camera that I recommend having....
Thank you.

Satisfied with Purchase

I am satisfied with the PZ42X. Seems to be versatile just a little slow to initially "charge up" and be ready to go.
I am VERY dissatisfied with my experience in purchasing online through Best Buy. Made my purchase, paid for express delivery and had to wait beyond what would have been standard delivery. Best Buy blamed their supplier and was absolutely no help.
