Hours of fun. I started with the story mode because I was initially intimidated by the “maker” aspect of the game, but to my surprise it was really easy to learn how to make courses that bring me back to my childhood. A great game for fans of the NES and SNES Mario games of the past.

I have never played Mario Maker before so I was skeptical to buy the new game for the Switch. Creativity does not really flow in these veins but when I heard about there being a Story mode it caught my attention. The included levels are a lot of fun and there is a ton of variation to them, but the biggest selling point for me is the ability to play levels created by other people. This makes the game like an endless Mario game in a sense. So overall I am really happy with m y decision to purchase this and the added year of Nintendo online was icing on the cake considering I still GCU membership and got a discount on it.

Super Mario Maker 2 is not a new idea, but an expanded idea with better resolution and more to see and experience than the first one on the Wii U and 3DS. The part that got me intrigued was the story mode because all of the levels were made by Nintendo themselves. If you take that into consideration, you’re basically buying a new Mario platforming experience. That alone was worth my money, but the fact that you can also make your own levels and play other people’s levels makes this a game worth picking up as well.

The nice thing about this is the 1 year online subscription! You can play creator levels, and get dominated on endless super expert challenges. Then to feel better about yourself, play beginner levels. That way you don’t break too many controllers from the rage quits...

I was skeptical because I wasn’t sure if the best idea was to buy this one or the regular Mario, but this one is so much better. Not only you can play the levels created by others online but also you can play the levels in the mode story which include more than 100! This game is so much fun. I’m already 20 and this keep me entertained. I would highly recommend this game to everyone.

The Switch has so many great games on it and more continue to pile in. Both new games, indie games, games from the past that may have somehow managed to escape the Nintendo radar are finding new life under the Big N. Super Mario Maker is a game that will not ever get boring or have a limit on what you can do with it. You can make your own stages or play a bunch of custom stages from Nintendo, maybe try out hundreds of thousands of stages made by fans that are online and ready to give a go. I've always enjoyed any game that allowed me to just create whatever I like. The Sims, Minecraft, Mario Paint, Dreams, Blast Works, RPG Maker etc. you name it, I've probably played it and enjoyed it for countless hours. They've added so much new content with recent updates including things from Super Mario Bros. 2 which was something I had been hoping to see since the first Super Mario Maker on Wii U. This is fun, easy to play, fun to make stages and have friends or family play. Something you can actually play with the kids or just to try out some of the neat things fans have come up with. If you're a Mario Bros. fan this is an absolute must purchase.

The story mode of the game is excellent, the Nintendo made levels bring in fun challenges in both the old styles of Super Mario World and Super Mario Bros 3 and also the Super Mario U and 3d world. All the challenges feel fun and add unique twists. The creator mode allows you to play with the tools to make levels and also you can play other people's levels.

Create cources with numerous assets, upload your courses and download other people's courses as well. There is a story mode with 100 pre-made levels to help you learn how to properly use the tools given to you when you are designing your courses. The online membership bundled is a welcomed bonus for the discount you are getting as well.

What can I say. If you love any mario game you will love this game. Each game is unique since they are created by individuals who play the game and not nintendo. There is also a story mode which is fun to play. If you like any mario game this is the game to buy! Its fun and challenging.

This game builds on the success and fun from the first one, and adds plenty of new content! Making levels is easy and a blast, and playing user levels keeps the game refreshing! The addition of cooperative play makes this game very entertaining for hours.

For anyone that likes to make their own video games and likes Mario, this is the perfect game for you. Have fun making your own levels and releasing them for others around the world to try and solve. Many different obstacles and layer choices making the game super creative. For those that only want to play others levels, they have that available as well! The story mode is also fun. You get to play many levels to collect coins to pay to rebuild Peaches castle after it gets destroyed on your watch. Only thing that would make it better is if it was easier to build off the handheld on the big screen. It can be done using the joycons but is easier to do on the touch screen. When building I also recommend using a stylus (makes it much easier to place things on the screen). I got 3 basic ones for $4 total at Walmart, so definitely worth it.

You have infinite possibilities to ether make and create your own levels, play the story mode and collect the pieces to rebuild the castle or go online and play everyone eles levels. Whichever you choose there will always be something to do.

If you played the original, the controls are different. There is however a story mode this time around. So not bad. Does require the Switch online subscription. This one saved me $10 on it, compared to buying individually.

Perhaps the best game to come from the Wii U system makes the jump to switch in a follow-up that's got almost all the bells and whistles of the original plus many more that are making their debut. Whether you like playing in your own Mario sandbox to create levels or simply enjoy the platforming challenges that others have created, this is a must-own game that will appeal to all Mario lovers, young and old. Note that this version includes the 12-month online membership, which is required for playing the levels in Course World. This game wouldn't be nearly as useful without the online access. Since this version prices out to a bundled discount, I strongly recommend it over the standard version if you need to subscribe or extend your Nintendo online membership.

This sequel has an even greater set of tools than the original. There is a story mode if you just feel like playing and, of course, there are plenty of levels to try out online. Lots of fun!

This game gives you the tools to create your own Mario stages. It's super easy to just select the items you want: pipes, enemies, ramps, power ups, etc. and drag and drop them to create your level. You can then upload the stage online for others to enjoy. Nintendo Switch Online membership is required for online features. Go online to play thousands of other user-created levels. Nintendo has done a great job to give gamers the option to create and share. It gives this game an endless amount of content. Great game!
