So the pen is very ergonomic and works very well with the surface. I am concerned about the battery life, but right now it seems to work just fine. The tip works well and against the surface it feels just fine.
My only wish is that the pen lip used to hold the pen onto a sleeve were more stylish. The double prong wire like look doesn't make it look like a $50+ pen. Instead my basic hotel room pen lip looks just like it.
I would like the price to be a little lower, and I haven't found out the need for the replacement tips just yet.

While I am still getting used to using the pen to navigate Windows 10, I found it easy to use and versatile when working with Windows 8.1. I hardly ever use the mousepad, as the pen is simpler to point and click on the touch screen. It is light and perfectly sized to represent its usefulness.

The pen that came from my Surface Pro 3 had a purple eraser. When I saw this new option to get the a solid blue pen I jumped on it.
The pen overall is a huge improvement versus the previous Surface Pro. It does more while doing it quickly.; The pen keeps my bag light because I really hate and turn off the touch pad. It really replaces the mouse and the ability to write, capture screen shots instantly. I do a lot of PowerPoint preso's and It also lets me draw and focus in on specific data during the actual slide show.
My cons are that the pen is a little pricey but worth it if you are going to use it. The other con is that the supplied pen holder is such a lower grade product to put on this beautiful laptop replacement tablet.

I'm glad Microsoft decided to spruce up their stylus offerings for the Surface Pro tablet series. This Wacom-based stylus actually works for any Wacom-based digital inking enabled device. I know, based on my experience, that it works with my Vaio Duo Windows tablet/hybrid (the only thing that doesn't work is the launch OneNote by pressing the pen button). This is a great companion to any Surface Pro.

It's a fancy stylus. It gets the job done but isn't really necessary and is kind of expensive for what it does. Purchased along with the keyboard and Surface 3 128 GB. The Surface 3 was fairly new at the time, I'm sure there will be more cost effective 3rd party accessories soon if not already.

Excellent device for those using a surface 3. The smaller icons on the task bar can be difficult to use with your fingers but the pen makes it much easier. The pen also works really well with one note and if you happen to have a CAD program installed it is terrific for drafting or drawing tasks.

So far the pen is great as it allows me to quickly select what I want on the screen. I bought this item open box so the battery ran down about a month after I used it. I called Best Buy but they don't carry AAAA type batteries and you can only buy them on line.

I ended up exchanging this color for the black as it looked more purple to me once out of the box. The technology itself is amazing and to me it is the best stylus/tablet hybrid on the market for consumers. If you pick up a Surface 3, grab a pen as well.

I live the feel of this pen. The buttons are in a good place and I like clicking the top button and driving right into my OneNote at meetings. The design feels substantial without being too weighty. However, I do with the AAAA battery lasted longer or that the pen was rechargeable.

There is one included with the Surface Tab, which I didn't know. But It's sliver and purple, so I'm glad I got this one. This thing makes drawing, writing and everything else an absolute breeze.

These pen's work great and are more useful than I thought they would be.
Only thing I wish is that they would come with an extra tip as it does seem to flatten after a few months of use.

...if you get a Suface 3? It completes the package. It is a great utility and really helps to drive the functions of the Surface. I've never seen a AAAA battery before, but now I know they exist. They are not too expensive (AAAA batteries) and can be obtained at your usual office supply stores. The battery life itself is fairly robust and the feel of the stylus is very comfortable. You also have orientation calibration so palm rests on the screen will not impact your applications. Nice implementation!

The Surface Pro 3 provides the best tablet writing experience available. With the palm detection of the Surface Pro 3 you don't need to worry about resting your hand on the tablet when you writing making it SOOOO much more comfortable.
A tip though, BUY THE PEN LOOP HOLDER that is available so you don't lose the pen and end up buying another one! I do wish it was a bit cheaper considering the digitizer in the Surface Pro 3 is doing most of the work.

I was skeptical when the salesperson showed me the pen for the Surface, saying it was the "most precise digital instrument yet." I'm not going to swear that he's right - but this is not "just" a stylus.
I had to order it separately online. When the Surface 3 came out, the color pen (black) was not in stock, so I went to order online. While I was waiting for my purchase to arrive, I was using my finger, or a stylus, with my new Surface 3. Nifty, and worked fine. Then I got the pen...
I didn't know I could use my Surface like a notepad quite that way. I didn't realize how versatile it could really be - and I'm STILL discovering interesting ways to use the pen. I've already used it to mark up pictures of slides shows I've taken, highlighted pages of notes, circled, colored, or otherwise improved my digital uses on my Surface. I bought the Surface 3 for college, and to have the functionality to use beyond school. The pen distinctly adds to that versatility.
The only downside is that there's no where (natively) to put the pen. It comes with a fabric "loop" - similar in fabric texture to that which is on the keyboard (separate purchase) - with an adhesive on the flag end of the loop. I adhered mine to the fabric, fuzzy side of my keyboard. Be VERY specific when you make the adherence, though. If you stick it, then attempt to move it, you will likely be unable to get it to stick again. Leave the backing on it, put the pen INTO the loop, the play with positioning. When you have it where you know you can access the pen, comfortably, can close it, and can still plug it in, THEN remove the backing and stick it on. Doing so first will likely cause aggravation and result in an additional $5 spent on a new loop.
