I have had an old Klipsch Synergy speaker system for years. I just got a new Denon receiver that has a 2nd Sub output. I purchased a new Klipsch R-120SW to add as the second sub to pair with my old Klipsch KSW-12 suwoofer. Although the KSW-12 sounded good, it was missing some oomph. I researched and found that the go to sub for movies and music was SVS. SVS subs go down to 20hz so that was the missing oomph. I did even more research and found that a lot of people had this sub paired perfectly with the Klipsch Reference Premier series and the even better RF-7's as well. Since my next upgrade was going to most likely be Klipsch, the PB2000 is the best choice for me. After running some different genres of music to break in, then some sub-woofer frequency tests, and some sub-woofer test music, this sub woofer really opened up. The impact is great on movies. The crashes, booms, and helicopter blades bring out the real sound out of the PB2000. The kick drums on the Eagles Farewell Blu Ray is felt in the chest. This sub is the needed addition to my setup. The Denon and Audyssey setup brought back my sound system to life and this sub added the missing lows. I have owned much better car audio systems than my existing setup, so this sub brings in more of the sound I am used to. This company is based out of Ohio, and has a GREAT reputation as the gold standard for subwoofers. The only thing I need now, is a second SVS PB-2000. I returned the Klipsch. At the 50% off discount, it is a great sub, but if you can afford the SVS, the SVS subwoofers are the clear winner. Setup: 2.1 with B&W 685 Bookshelf speakers Room: 18x17 with vaulted 10ft ceilings. 3/4 dividing wall between the living room, and the kitchen dining area. Content: Mostly Music, some Tv series, and the occasional blu-ray. Pros: - Very clean bass with great output, even at low volumes (500 watts RMS) - Excellent low frequency response (17hz) - Setup (crossover @ 80hz) Merlin tool on SVS website help is needed. - High quality and solid construction (65lbs) Cons: - Very large footprint compared to other 12" ported subs on the market - Metal grill curves outward and may not match other components - "SoundPath Subwoofer Isolation System" recommended with hard floor - Power light could bother listeners in low light depending on placement Overall: If you have the space in your listening/viewing area, the PB-2000 is a must buy if you are considering anything between $500-1000 range.

I bought the SVS PB-2000 on Best Buy, as I got a better deal than Amazon. The subwoofer is going great, a little over a month in. We had a Velodyne DEQ-12R which died after 9 years and were needing a replacement. The SVS has greater frequency response and delivers lower lows. The accuracy and power of the subwoofer are without question, especially when comparing to the Velodyne. For the price and what you get, this is a great deal.

I added 2 of these to a definitive technology 9000 series. 7.2 surround sound system (because that is the optimal setup for bass and impact from SVS). I moved the sub cables to these subwoofers instead of leaving them attached to my front speakers. I don’t lack in bass at all now. Note: the boxes for these are very large and can be awkward to move, but the packaging is excellent! I was told that 25% of bass is lost without a subwoofer and now I know what that theater-style “booming” can be in a home. From the manufacturer: You will need to re-run your receiver audio calibration after install. Keep the sub volume dial at 1 o’clock position for 1st 40 hours to break-in the speakers. Lastly set your speaker size in your receiver settings to be “small” for optimal bass output.

This is by far the most amazing addition to my Home Theater. I'm somewhat a newbie at this. I've had kit home theaters because and had a couple of ok pieces here and there. So, I didn't know what the boomy sound on subs that people were talking about really was. I have a Martinlogan 700w and a Bowers & Wilkins 608 and those were cool. This SVS sub is next level though. I am not sure why Best Buy's don't have these in most stores. Had to go to a Magnolia Design Center to hear one and it wasn't even this model. I think it's probably because it is a big sub. HUGE actually, so you really need to have space or be ok with this big box that will stand out in your living room. But OMG, talk about a whole new level. Initially, I was like hmmm, it's ok. Not hard hitting "boomy" bass. But once I ran the auto set up again on my receiver. This thing, you can definitely feel. Great for Home Theater. Makes me want to try all the different ones that they offer. It's a shame that Best Buy doesn't have at least the low model of these in all stores. This thing will probably be able to be felt at the other end of the store. Even with all the windows and doors closed at my house, you can almost feel it outside. It's like a plane is going to fly by or something. Love this thing, now I'm going to have to upgrade my highs.

This sub has all the power and punch that you need. It has deep low end and shakes the walls. It has a large foot print but well worth it.

I got the subwoofer after doing my research. Every thing about the subwoofer is amazing for a medium size living room. The only negative that I can think off is its size. My wife says that it looks like a small car parked in the living room. But I love the subwoofer and strongly recommend it. Jesse from Yuma AZ help me with my purchase. Outstanding service.

SVS makes some of the best subs you can buy for home theater. I bought two of these and it fills the entire room with heart pounding bass. Brings your movie experience to whole new level!!

This is the only woofer I recommend when you need heavy bass and have it 2nd in your home theatre with specific amp and enough power and check the effect- mind blowing

I'm not kidding. This is the most "bang" for the buck. Literally. I've always heard about SVS and I finally decided to get one. The black ash is beautiful. The grill is the most durable I've ever seen with a nice arch design for woofer flex. I'm hitting all sorts of frequencies and it's actually pretty efficient compared to other subs I currently own. At the same wattage, I'm hitting much higher decibels. If you're just a normal Jim looking for a home theater system, this price point will scare you. But I promise, this takes your home theater not to the next level, but a few levels past it. I finally have balance since my orb audio speakers carried far too much potential for my previous 2 klipsch subwoofer setup.

This subwoofer sounds great. Matches up with the rest of my components. It was a little larger than I expected. About twice as big as the JBL unit it replaced.

Bought this sub on sale and am very happy with it (for the price). I had to replace my Velodyne HGS15 when it died, This is no where near that sound, but it is also 1/3rd the cost of the Velodyne.

More than I expected! Matches great with my BW speakers. Deep bass with very sharp and hard hits. Excellent for music and home theatre.

Very strong sub. One of the best dollar value subs out there. Can really create some pressure in a small/medium sized room. Also excellent with music. For a ported sub it's very tight and fast. Very well built. If you're taking the first step towards a serious home theatre sub, it really has no weaknesses.
