For the price, this is the best NAS device. The UI and feature set built into this product are great. I wish the processor was a little faster. It can feel slow at times when making changes in the web UI, but the network performance won't let you down. It's very good.

The case is good looking. The interface is easy to use the only thing is the relative speed of the system. If you are planning to make big backups it is recommended to look for a more powerful unit.

This unit is great for home backup of your LAN. The only issue I have with it is that it is hard to use as an iTunes server for the whole house. I'm not sure what the issue is but it could be that the computers disconnect when asleep and don't auto-reconnect, and iTunes loses its default folder for storage.

This is my first time buying this kind of hatware. After try and error, I think I made a good election.
Easy installation and good performance. However, it weakness is that it is not easy to accessible as cloud.

I got this Synology NAS based on reviews. I had previously returned a MyCloud that was extremely difficult to set up. The Synology was easy to get going and the setup software and Synology Assistant for setting up access on networked computers worked easily. The onboard running softer is a little slow, but it doesn't effect network performance, which is what is important. Good NAS.

I had been using an aging desktop as a family file and media server until it died. I salvaged it's two hard drives (containing two copies of all our data), now have a big enough, but expandable SHR server.

Wanted to use this as my iTunes repository and default library. It works very well, connected to my Orbi router via Ethernet. It is accessible from all my devices in my house. Set up a single SSD drive of 500G and has another bay for one more. I wouldn't consider myself a power user, but this meets my needs quite nicely. Later I could add another drive for media if I feel the need.

I had to buy this model since vest buy stopped carrying the faster model. For my need, it works like it should. It's quick enough for the basic home user.

I had to buy this as a replacement for the one that won't freaking stop beeping at work. It was a pain to sync and if we had not already had the old system in place I'm sure I would not have continued to purchase this product
