With all the negative reviews I swear I thought this tv was going to be a bust but it most definitely wasn’t. The picture quality is amazing and for $200 it most definitely is worth it. You get all streaming apps including hbo max which most smart TVs do not have. This 55 inch looks exactly the same as my $800 LG that’s in the living room so trust me if you need a cheap, nice quality tv for your bedroom this here is the best bang for your buck. Also it has chrome cast which lets you mirror things from your phone to your tv!

Picked this TV up for my new apartment, and could not be happier for the price. It is about as close to plug-and-play as you will get with a smart TV. Attach the legs, plug in, go through a few steps once you turn it on and it is set to go.
I have tested all HDMI connections with multiple devices. TV picks up connections without any issues. The image is crisp, clear, and vibrant. Probably not as high quality as your more high-end and expensive TV's, but for the price you are getting very good picture quality. The remote is fairly easy to navigate. I purchased a sound bar to go with the TV, but returned it because there was no need. Even in the living room the sound output is powerful, and you don't even have to turn it up that much to hear it in the kitchen or dining areas. Just tweak the noise reduction options if it occasionally goes quiet.
Once Wi-Fi was hooked up it was able to connect without issue, and I was streaming YouTube flawlessly in HD quality. This is also dependent on your signal strength, of course, but the TV itself has no problems connecting and streaming. Overall, there's no real issues I have found with this product. Suitable for both bedrooms and smaller living rooms. Especially good for those getting a new living space and looking for good quality on a budget.

I love this TV. I had the Roku version of this model last and it died just before 2 years. I'm hoping that it was just one of those things but this time I bought the 2 year warranty through Best Buy just in case. For the price, this TV can't be beat. It does everything I need it to do. I'm not in online gaming or anything so I can't speak to that but for just watching cable TV and using YouTube kids and Disney plus it's perfect. I like to play old school video games like Nintendo and Wii and it's perfect for those platforms. The newest platform I use is Playstation 3. That's about as realistic as I want my games to be. I want to feel like I'm playing a game, I don't need super realism so for me, this TV is perfect. If you want a nice 55 inch HDTV without breaking the bank, this is your TV. The only reason I didn't give 5 stars is because the last one I had only lasted 2 years. Like I said I hope this one is better. The only problem I had is getting my Xfinity to pair with the TV remote. For some reason the Xfinity has the brand of TV in there, but it won't pair to control the volume. Minor detail. We'll live with it for the price.

Died After Four Days

I bought this TV after my long-suffering Insignia 50" 4K Roku TV finally bit the dust. This TV's low price point made me disregard the negative reviews but I should have heeded their warnings. I bought this TV on October 20, 2020, and just four days later it has failed. Last night it worked fine, but I turned it on this morning to find that the display has gone haywire. There is a 5-inch wide rainbow-colored vertical stripe running down the middle and the rest of the display is a flickering, flashing mess. I've repeatedly tried turning it off and on, unplugging it, etc., to no avail. Sometimes the rainbow-colored stripe turns black but it never actually goes away. It hasn't moved or been touched since I hung it on the wall, and I live alone with no pets, so nothing hit it or anything like that. It just died.
When it worked, the picture and sound quality were pretty good for the price. I like the Android interface, and setup was amazingly easy. I'm not a huge fan of the remote (Roku-style remotes are much more intuitive, in my opinion) but I'm sure I would've gotten used to it. If it hadn't died I would say it's a good value, but since this one died after only four days, I can't recommend it. I think I'll bite the bullet and exchange this for something at a higher price point.

Purchased this tv at a terrific price! I like the lightweight, slim design and clear, bright picture. The sound is good as well and does not need a sound bar even in a large master bedroom ( but would be beneficial in a basement or larger family room.) For a 55” 4K UHD tv TCL makes a great tv at a fraction of the price of Sony, Vizio, and LG. Super pleased overall. Remote could be lit for easier use.

This is your run of the mill TCL TV. It works well for what it is. We have been successfully running this TV for a whike now. The only real complaint we have is, it is slower in loading, connecting to Wi-Fi, and moving through the menus, than other TV brands we have in the house. Overall though, for the price, we feel it is a good TV.

I didn't know about the brand TCL but it is a great buy. I opted not to get a sound bar & it was a good choice because for the size of my room the volume is great. The picture is clear & downloading apps is easy. The remote is simple but if you don't pair it to the tv you may notice that changing channels won't work w/o you pointing directly at the sensor. Overall i would suggest this brand to anyone I know.

Great deal on a nice large flat screen, picture is great. The in TV speakers are loud enough but a little unstable, seems every time music comes on in a show they get a lot louder for some reason. The remote takes some getting used to, not as user friendly as others I've used.

For the price this is a very good entry level 4K TV. It has HDR 10 and AC WiFi, but I prefer Ethernet. The specifications mention 120 CMI, that is just simulating 120hz, this is a native 60hz panel. It has 3 HDMI 2.0 ports(1 ARC), no 2.1 ports, but that should be expected at this price point. The TV produces a very nice picture, not anywhere near high end TVs but it’s still good. The Android OS is very easy to navigate and customize. Chromecast built in is a plus. Remote could be better but it’s decent. Not sure about the speakers as I have it connected to an AV receiver for sound. Overall a great value for an entry level budget TV.

Works great after about a month. Came in a pretty beat up box. One time a white noise bar/line repeatedly slid up the right/center of the screen. Turning on/off once fixed it. Hasn’t happened since. Speakers sound great for being built in. I use a sound bar regardless. Tv remote controls sound bar once connected. Because clearance, I opted for the however many year warranty/geek squad - additional $50. I’m happy with my purchase. No dead pixels. (Covered in warranty). Outlets are a firm fit around plugs. When it comes to glare/reflection, idk if I’ve ever seen a tv without it.

The TCL Class 4 tv is a great deal when you consider what you get for the price point.
The Hardware is great and the software is super easy to use with the Android TV being my second favorite right after LG's WebOS. It even has a memory clean/refresh button on the home page that closes programs not being used and more in which speeds up and frees any processing power or resources being used and that's awesome. The remote is small and takes up little space and is very simple and easy to use.
The screen is direct-lit which is a great deal better than the edge-lit TV and the black and color uniformity are enhanced. The 60Hz refresh rate is solid and 4k media being played on the tv looks good.
I purchased this tv for my game room in my basement as the older tv was a non-smart tv and since my iPad was too old to accept app updates, this was the best logical choice and I'm glad I choose TCL.
Also, the packaging and instructions were told notch and really well thought out. Things like that mean that companies are really taking the time and putting effort into their line of products when taking a large tv out of a box makes you happy.
I've had this tv for about two months now and I've had no issues what so ever. It's fast, responsive and I'll have to turn to TCL next time around when I look into getting an OLED or another LED tv down the road. Thanks
*Picture is in my basement with no natural light and 6, 6in downward can lights producing around 450 each Lumens of light with two being within 4 feet of the TV. The anti-glare is great and doesn't wash out the picture one bit. The picture is from an iPhone SE first-gen around 4 years old. TV is playing 4k Our Planet on Netflix.

$200 for 55" or 4k, who could ask for more. Great price for a lot of real estate. Some of the colors are represented a little too vibrant, tweaking the settings makes them acceptable. Worth the money, have other TCL with Roku operating system, not worth the extra$$ in my opinion.
