    4K For Less

This was my first foray into 4K televisions, and I read a ton of reviews before I pulled the trigger. I really wasn't interested in spending a lot of money. Several sites listed this as the best bang for your buck 4K tv, particularly if you're mostly interested in it for gaming, as I am. I saw a massive improvement in picture quality when hooked up to my PS4 Pro (I previously had a Panasonic plasma tv that I loved dearly, despite it not being able to keep up with the times). I find myself having a hard time deciding on what game to play or movie to watch, because I want to see and play them all on this set. I'm sure there are better ones out there, but this one fully met and exceeded my expectations.

I absolutely love this TV! when it comes to Tech I do not go cheap, and I really do believe you get what you pay for. I did a lot of research on his TV, I looked at a lot of videos and read a lot of comments. I need a 4K TV bad because of the Xbox One X. before I went to go purchase the TV, I needed some comparisons between the series of the TVs. The P-Series is the TV that you want! The P stands for Premium. it has not only 4K but HDR 10, Dolby vision, 74 zones of local dimming, and is Led, NOT Edge Lit! Understand the difference! this TV is absolutely amazing for the price that it is, and is compared to mid-range $2,000 4K TVs. the S series is the cheapest series of the TVs, with a lot of features missing that the P series offer. so do yourself a favor. Grab this TV!

I was skeptical when i was reading reviews on bets 4K and found this TV listed among other TV's that are 3 or even 6x more expensive. So i went to the closest store that had it on display but the TV was not working. They had they S series and that looked amazing so i assumed this one would be the same or better and purchased 2 of these. I was surprised how great it looks, even just 1080p content looks way better than my old LED. 4K content just looks amazing. On top of that the builtin roku tv just adds so much more features (i got rid of the 2 apple TV's i used with my previous TV's).

Can't believe this TV is such an affordable price considering the features included. The roku platform is simple and effective and the picture is comparable to TVs double the price. Only downsides are viewing angle which is better than I expected and it's definitely better suited for dark rooms which I find is best for viewing experience regardless. Everything I've watched on it looks amazing and the interface makes adjusting the picture very quick and efficient. 4k movies and nature documentaries look incredible on this TV and I can't wait to see how 4k video games look! Definitely the most affordable 4K UHD TV around with HDR and Dolby Vision and only one I found with all HDMI 2.0 ports so quality isn't compromised on other devices. Bigup TCL!

I was looking into purchasing a 4K HDR TV since I have a PS4 Pro and an Xbox One X on the way. I was pretty skeptical since Im a Sony guy at heart but I have to say Im blown away by the picture quality on this "budget" TV. If you're looking to make the jump to 4K HDR and don't want a huge investment I HIGHLY recommend the 605. Video games look fantastic w/ HDR (w/ low lag) and Dolby Vision movies look awesome. Great contrast, rich colors and it can get very bright. I was fortunate to get a decent panel but there have been reports of screen abnormalities but you can always exchange it if you get a bad one. Highly recommended!

We'd been looking for a new TV to replace our still working but aging plasma tv. We wanted a 55in size and all the most current features and capabilities. It looked like we'd have to spend at least $1500 get what we wanted. We finally ran across the TCL 55p605 and the reviews were very positive. Now that we've had the TV for a short while, we're extremely pleased. Picture is beautiful and sharp regardless of whether it's a football game, a movie, or the news. The built-in Roku makes it a breeze to find what we want to watch. The fact that we paid a third of what we'd expected is the super-icing on the cake.

I'll get the negatives I have had out of the way as they are not big, The power cord could be a little longer and the remote is clearly were $$ was saved. To further explain, I use an Xbox One X which has Directv running through it. I have moved to using an Xbox media remote instead of the TCL remote. The TV allows for custom naming of inputs which is very helpful. I don't make full use of the Roku features as that service is new to me, but I look forward to investigating it more. The picture is very nice, I have the set in a dark room but I think the screen is bright enough to work nicely in a well lit room also. 4K/HDR content looks good coming from a 4K disc in the Xbox One X. Haven't tried 4K from a streaming service yet. Overall, this is a great set for the money and rates very well as a budget set.

For the price no other TV even comes close

Background on my purchase decision: I had wanted to upgrade to a 4K HDR TV for a while now, the only problem was that pretty much every 4K HDR TV that was worth buying was pretty expensive ($1000+) and I was hoping to be able to spend less than $1000 and still get a good TV. I was beginning to think it was not possible until I recently found this TV. During my research I happened to stumble across the brand name TCL. I had never heard of it before and I am usually a Samsung, Sony, LG person when it comes to high-end electronics. Don't let the fact you haven't really heard of TCL prevent you from getting this TV. For the price there is literally no other TV that can match it in terms of value. Every review site I checked had this TV reviewed equivalently to a much higher-end TV. Every 55in TV I found that had a higher review score cost hundreds more and some were even double the price. Experience using the TV so far: Now onto the stuff you probably care bout more. I've had this TV for a few days and I am extremely happy with it so far. The picture quality is superb, the colors are ridiculously bright, and the Roku TV interface is very user friendly. I'm going to be using the TV mostly for gaming and I've played Ratchet and Clank on my PS4 Pro (one of the few titles out so far that has HDR support) and it is incredible. I legitimately feel like I'm in the middle of a Pixar movie when playing this game. There are tons of different colors, backgrounds, details, etc in this game and everything looks amazing so far. Even when I switched to gaming mode, to lower the input lag, I didn't notice a difference in the picture quality. I also re-watched the first episode of Man in the High Castle on Amazon, because it is available to stream in true 4K (read: not up-scaled). The detail was sharp, the dark's and bright colors were vivid, it was was very impressive to watch. Advice for buying a 4K TV: ***Make sure it has HDR- either HDR10 or Dolby Vision (preferably support for Dolby Vision and HDR10 since there is no one specific dominant format yet, even though most content is HDR10 currently). If it says something like Active HDR don't be fooled, that is not HDR. The only real HDR right now is either HDR10 or Dolby Vision. Without HDR there is no reason to buy a 4K TV- you won't be able to notice the higher resolution without HDR support. ***Make sure it has local dimming. Local dimming allows the TV to adjust brightness independently in different areas of the TV ***If using it specifically for gaming make sure it A.) has a dedicated gaming mode and B.) has a low input lag in that gaming mode. ***Make sure it has a wide color gamut- without getting too technical basically this means that with HDR the colors will look brighter and more vivid and the dark's will look more clear About the TCL P605: This TCL TV supports both HDR10 and Dolby Vision HDR, it has 72 contrast control (read: local dimming) zones, has a dedicated gaming mode and extremely low input lag, the picture can get very bright when viewing HDR content, and has a wide color gamut. Conclusion: This TV is by no means perfect or the best TV on the market right now, but to get a TV that is SIGNIFICANTLY better than this one you'd have to pay at least 4X the price. Simply for the value alone this TV is worth the money, but it also a very good TV in its own right. Its competitors in the same segment may have about equivalent picture quality but the fact that it supports both HDR formats, has the ROKU TV interface, and gets a much brighter HDR picture set it apart. You really can't go wrong with this TV at the price point it is being sold at in my opinion.

This TV is the hardest-hitter you're going to find in the $500-$1000 range - I did my research before buying it and there are quite a few websites/reviews that back it up. The full-array backlighting is not something you find on TV's in this price range and that's what makes it such a great deal. The blacks are very deep and there is no bleed in the corners when watching movies in letterbox format - something I couldn't' escape with the LG & Samsung TV's in this same class & price range. I've already got Apple TV's set up for each of my displays so I have no need for Roku but still the OS was well done and navigating through the TV menus is quick, easy & intuitive, something else I couldn't say for LG's offering in this area.

Yeahhhh, I'm gonna need you to just go ahead and come back for the P series...mkay. I bought the S series b/c of the price. I returned it for this one not only for the price, but the value. After purchasing the S series, I went back to Best Buy to find a soundbar. During that trip I took a ganders at the P series on display and noticed that it was noticably just better than the other displays around it that were equally priced and some up to 3x more expensive. I thought it was in my head, but after going home and doing my research, it wasn't. Apparently this tv is the steal of the year in 2017. I returned the S series the very next day and got this one. At $599, I can't even explain how much better it is than the S series which don't get me wrong, is a good TV at the $330-$370 price range. But this is a great TV for just a couple hundred dollars more which was still in my price range so I went for it. I mean if you're gonna have a TV, you want to be happy with it. I'm one for value so this fits the bill. Color is rich and rivals many of the in store demos of the alleged higher end tvs. The only bummer is it doesn't have the enhanced Roku remote that the P607 TV has. It has the regular Roku IR remote. But, that wasn't a deal breaker for me. It's $51 cheaper than the P607 with the enhanced remote. Best Buy only sells the P605 so I guess that's a moot point. Regardless, I read some reviews of people disliking the remote. I LOVE this Roku remote (and the Roku Interface is unmatched; I don't think I'll ever want another TV without it). The beauty is the simplicity of it. The 55" P series is slim with a nice side profile. The TV is slimmer than the S-series by a good amount. The box is thinner than the S-series, too, so it actually was easier to fit in my car for the drive home. Plus the feet are chrome colored on the P series as opposed to a silver color with the S series. The picture quality is superior. All the ports are on the right side of the TV which worked better for my setup since I have an antenna incorporated in my setup to get HD network TV. The antenna is closer to the window, with the coax input on the right side. However, I think there's something else going on with this TV in terms of being able to access more channels through the antenna. I couldn't get PBS 1, 2 and 3 with the S series tv. Using this same exact antenna, I get those stations and they are flawless. The picture quality is rich and enjoyable. Luxurious if you will. It's a really nice experience. Plus, I've NEVER experienced a lag while streaming or using the antenna. It's so awesome. I watch a lot of live sports and espn through Roku with Watch ESPN, and I had a ton of lag with the S series TV. I have the same exact internet connection with this TV, a paltry 7 mbps DSL connection, and it feels like I have a 100 mbps connection with this TV. I'm ethernet hardwired in through the back of the TV to wring out everything I can from the 7 mbps, and I stream everything and this TV has never lagged in any streaming service. It's like night and day compared to the S-series. So not only is the picture quality better but this one also supports Dolby Vision HDR AND Dolby Digital Plus Audio which is totally noticeable. The Sony HT-CT790 soundbar that I went with supports Dolby Digital Plus DTS through the HDMI inputs so it's a great pairing. You just get so much more quality with the P series than the S series that if you have the couple hundred extra I'd seriously consider getting the P over the S. It's faster in every regard and has premium picture and audio. No brainer purchase.

I did a lot of research before buying this TV. I checked even the website (rtings.com) which offers great insight to rating TVs. They had this TCL as the best budget HDR gaming TV in the market. Only the X900E was superior but at $400-700 more expensive. I went with their recommendation and i am not disappointed. What an amazing TV. I paired this up with my Xbox one X and the quality is amazing. Even the employees at the store were questioning my purchase but TCL really created the surprise of the year.

This TV is absolutely amazing, especially considering the features and value you get from such an unbelievably low price. I usually purchase the big-brand names: Samsung, Sony, etc., and would normally stray away from lower-priced TVs simply because a higher price directly implies higher quality. But this isn't always the case. I'm now a believer that you can get a high-quality product that rivals or even exceeds products that cost twice as much, and this TV is one of those products.

I have owned quite a few HDTVs in my life, and this one has impressed me the most. I was skeptical at first (having never heard of the TCL brand before), but I kept hearing/seeing good things about this TV, so I decided to buy it. The overall picture quality is great, and the HDR and Dolby Vision looks incredible! Like the Roku operating system way better than any other TV OS. The only slightly negative thing I can think of about this TV is the viewing angle. But, other than that, it's a good value. If you are on the fence, buy it, you won't be disappointed.

When my 10-year-old Samsung 52" set died on me back in September, I needed a replacement set ASAP and a quick search for a budget 4K set to replace it brought my attention to this TV by TCL. I would estimate that it has about 90% the picture quality at about 25% of the cost of my father's LG B6 OLED TV. The Roku interface for this TV is a breeze to use. The contrast and colors on this TV blows my old Samsung LCD out of the water on SDR content and HDR content is simply amazing. The only thing that keeps it from a 5-star rating is that the brightness is a bit uneven, which is a known issue with this set. The only time I really notice this is in menus, especially with the grey background on the Amazon Video app. Otherwise, I love this TV as I was expecting to pay quite a bit more for HDR support and this one manages to support both standards currently out there - HDR10 and Dolby Vision. Both formats look great on this set.

I bought this TV because of all the home theater reviews that came out on this TV. (Please see the 55p607 review on CNET) Many saying best TV besides stepping up to the OLED LG and Sony. I did CNETs recommend calibration settings for Movie mode and Im pretty blown away. Thats saying something coming from someone that was a store manager a high end home theater store for 8 years. Ive never been a big fan of LCD or LED. Always too washed out for me. Ive always been a Pioneer and Panasonic plasma fan and especially OLED fan but this TV surprised me. Blacks look great and love the color accuracy after I changed the settings. I didnt get this TV because it was a cheap TV. I got it because it was reviewed as one of the best TV pictures you can buy so why not spend less when you get more picture than other TV brands. Well done TCL!

The TCL 55P605 is a great TV that rivals those in the $900+ range. What's great about this TV is that it uses Roku and comes with integrated WiFi. It felt a bit unnatural at first to only plug in the power cable and I was ready to instantly watch my favorite shows and movies. All in all, the setup process was a breeze. The image quality is great. The sound is decent. The Roku user interface is easy to navigate. The only negative thing I can think of is the Roku app (for mobile phones). At times, it is unresponsive and the option to use the keyboard on the app usually does not work...but I still give this TV a full 5-star regardless.

I reviewed this TV for over a month before pulling the trigger and I couldn't be more pleased in my decision. The fact that this TV comes with HDR, Dolby Vision, wide color gamut, full array local dimming with 72 zones, and an input lag of 15ms in game mode all built in at this price range is really unheard of. I have this in a dark room so the fact that this isn't the brightest TV doesn't effect me much. Great for gaming on my Xbox One X!

This black Friday I researched and came to the conclusion that this TV was the perfect one for gaming, movie and TV watching. Once you buy this TV, make sure you calibrate it! The colors will be perfect, your blacks dark and your whites bright! Gaming is perfect with nearly 20 ms (millisecond) input lag, great colors due to the HDR and crisp picture. Movies and general TV are awesome to watch with this TV as well.

For the price this is incredible. Bright HDR, Roku UI is user friendly, plenty of options to tweak the picture settings to my liking. An OLED is better of course but in my opinion not worth over twice the price of this set. My favorite visual moment so far is Horizon Zero Dawn in HDR on the PS4 pro. And by the way the cash I saved vs going OLED paid for a PS4 pro, several games and 4k blu rays played on my xbox one s.

If you're in the market for a 4k TV, you should highly consider this one. It's bright, the local dimming works great, UHD and HDR content looks fantastic, and it's half the price of lower rated TVs from other manufacturers. It's not going to compete with OLED, but it's like 1/4 of the cost or less of those. It also has outstanding latency in game mode, on the order of 20ms, which is about as good as you can get without going to a 4k gaming monitor. Not only would I recommend it to a friend, I've sold at least 2 friends on them already.
