If you are looking for the best value in a TV look no further. The TCL tvs have all that you need if you simply want a bigger screen. The Roku built in system I have found to be one of the best parts of the TV. It works well with the new eco system of smart phones and tablets. It just seems like a good evolution. Don't buy this TV for the best picture or features. Buy it because it has the ones that you will need at a price you can afford to upgrade later if you choose.

This tv is the best value ive ever seen $379.00, It is 4k and hdr smart roku tv. The quality is fine for the price,. My next purchase will probbaly be a QLED since that is the bomb but its still priced to high. for now this model is a solid choice. Its 2 flaws might be that other tvs are brighter and each time you turn it on it doesn't remember which HDMI input it was on.

This TV has been great since purchasing, haven't had any problems with it. Good deal on price sound and picture quality is good. Not a huge fan on the remote, but nothing still worth it. The TV series next up is $100 more and pretty much the only difference is a more standard remote.
I recommend this TV and I plan on buying another one for my mom for Christmas.

First off great tv for the price good 4K picture, good options to search for content my PS4 syncs up nicely with it. I wall mounted it and synced my sound bar. Everything is pretty seamless. I like sound on the tv and how it connects to Sound bar, along with the fact that it starts on such a trendy selection page. I'd give it all stars except for color options. I Think that the automatic color selector could be better the vivid option is kind of blown out. Sports option seems to be the best but I still had to manually do slot a lot of tweaking and using online tutorials to get it right. I'm still working on it but it's better. When you tweak the color however the depth of picture is there. So over all for the price it's pretty darn good. I watch jr every day it's my favorite new toy. Oh also the themes are really cool like wallpaper for your computer. Ok have a good day. If you haven't please Say this blessing Jesus is lord and I believe He died on the cross for me and arose from the dead fill me with the Holy Spirit in Jesus name amen. That's eternal life.

Tv looks nice and the sound is pretty good, no need for a sound bar. The only down is I HATE THE REMOTE it’s TINY I’m always looking for it in the couch or the cat takes it and runs with it.
I wish Google or BING was an app for it.

This TV I purchased on sale. The picture quality when 4k content is displayed looks amazing. The feet are nice and stable and the speakers provide decent sound in a smaller room. The remote is the only real complaint. Very simplified and the volume buttons are on the side. For a 4k TV, this is one of the best deals. Worth it.

Absolutely beautiful television. I've been a Vizio person for years and never thought I'd get another brand. But after doing a lot of research and read that people who've tested out both say TCL is not only better than Vizio but is better than the 4k televisions youd spend thousands on. I love it and it's a great price.

I purchased this TV in 2017 and came back to this listing to compare specs as I'm shopping for a new TV. I'm surprised to see all the negative reviews; this tv has been great for me. I haven't had any of the problems from what I've read from others so far. Picture is great, apps work great, sound sucks which is typical but who doesn't own a sound bar or system these days. Im shopping for an additional TV, not a replacement. Mine is still going strong and I'm very happy with it.

I have had this TV for a few months and the only problem i have had was a minor software glitch; it got stuck while watching Netflix ( had to restart TV). Other than that for the price this TV blew me away. After tweaking some of the settings in the menu, it looked and sounded great. The blacks are black, the colors are sharp and vibrant and there is no screen bleeding what so ever! Do not miss out on this.

This is a great tv for it's price. The sound and picture quality is far above what I normally expect for a budget tv. But, there is no comparing it to it's pricier counterparts. On black screens or other one color images, you can very clearly see large lighter colored patches all around the edges. There is no adjusting the picture quality. You can turn the brightness up or down and that is your only option. The brightest setting isn't very bright. This tv will reflect even the smallest amount of external light even at night. There are no options for sound either. It's performance with gaming is also firmly average. It's not terrible, but if you are an avid or passionate player, this tv is not for you. It does not have game mode.

I have had this a week, no complaints except for the remote and since I downloaded the roku app on my phone I would not want any remote at this point, the app is great. The tv functions are all quick and easy to use, the picture is very nice. For $400 you will not find a better tv IMO.

I purchased the TCL - 55" Class (54.6" Diag.) - LED - 2160p - Smart - 4K Ultra HD TV Roku TV as a Christmas gift. We were amazed at the clarity of the picture and the ease of setup. This is an incredible TV for the price! I would definitely recommend this TV! Absolutely no complaints.

Used this TV in a classroom environment connected to a tiny Lenovo PC via HDMI. It looks great! Excellent for teaching/learning, viewing videos from YouTube with class and movies from Netflix since it has Roku integrated to the TV. You don't need nothing else. It looks great - I own several Samsung 4k TVs which don't compare - however, it's more than what it's worth. For the price, you're getting great value (bang) for the buck. Love it. Wouldn't mind getting one of these for my loft to catch-up on some Netflix/Hulu!

I picked this TV up a couple months ago and it has been a dream. The picture quality is superb and it auto scales content up to 4K very nicely. Games on my Nintendo Switch have never looked better and even streaming things from Netflix look great compared to my old 1080p TV. The Roku smart TV functions are very nice although the integrated Ads on the right were a big eyesore but it isn't too hard to block them with your router settings (Google it if you're like me and it bothers you). Overall though this TV has been great so far and I hope to have it for years to come!

If you are upgrading from a standard TV, then this is your best option for the size and price. You will see a big difference. If you want a better TV, look at the 607 model for $200 more. Both TVs have Roku, a major plus!

I have a TCL55US57 (no longer making) that I bought in Feb 2017 and I just bought this TCL55S405. It is not a true 120hz refresh rate like the 55US57, but is close in comparison with this TV. Some reviews come down hard on this point (the refresh rate), but I don't think it is that significant as to deter people from getting this TV. I also have a SONY 65" 4K (120hz naive refresh) and a Insignia 50" 4K (60hz native refresh) NS-50DR620NA18 as well. It is better than the Insignia, but not as good as the Sony. However, I paid $1100 for the Sony and $399 for the TCL. The color and maximizing the backlighting make up for this deficiency on the TCL55S405. It is a great TV for those on a budget or don't want to spend a lot of money. I love the ROKU feature and wish more TV manufacturers had this capability. I don't have cable or satellite TV. I stream with ROKU. I watch a lot of sports and you will like this TV for this purpose. The TV does a good job of up-scaling shows and sports from 1080 to 2160 (or getting as close to 2160 as possible).

Got this for an older family member. Perfect for their use. Simple interface, basic 4K and HDR features. Not the fanciest, but meets all standards at a great price.
