A ton of value for the money! This is the least expensive smart/WiFi HEPA air purifier with 5 levels of protection and app monitoring I could find and I am incredibly impressed with this!
It has automatic air fan speed that adjusts based on the particulate matter in the air. During a construction renovation I heard the fan kick on and I checked the app and it detected high levels of particulate matter and automatically worked hard to clean the air!
Another time I was using Febreeze in the room and the air purifier did-not like it, detecting VOC’s and the fan speed kicked on to high!
I am a fan of this air purifier!!
Note- the SQ ft rating is a little misleading. It does not mean it won’t work in a space larger than 250 sq ft for example, it just illustrates how much square footage it can clean so many times per hour.
You can easily use this in a 1000+ sq ft space.

I have had air purification systems in my sleeping quarters for the majority of my life, and I just started using one that is perfect for my needs – the TCL Breeva A3. At just under 8.5 lbs., the TCL Breeva A3 has all of the design and specification features that one could need or want in an air purifier. It is fairly small for the power it provides and the work that it does, and its circular shape allows it to take in bad air through a 360-degree intake and diffuse it back into the room in a similar fashion. The control buttons are simple and placed as an LED panel on the top of the unit. All of these features are also easily controlled through the TCL Breeva A3 app. This model, Breeva A3, is equipped to clean air in 12 minutes for rooms up to 246 sq. ft. and it eliminates 99.97 percent of all harmful particles in the air while doing so. This does not mean that the location of the air purifier must be in a room 246 sq. ft. or under, it just means that in that size room it can clean the air five times in an hour. It also works very well in rooms up to almost 600 sq. ft.
The quality is not only in the design but in its working filter – which is the heart of the product and what makes this air purifier better at eliminating germs and virus more than others on the market. The Breeva Shield Plus 5- stage filtration system includes a pre-filter, a True HEPA (H13), an activated carbon filter, anion technology, and UV-C - a high power disinfection system. The air purifier not only absorbs smoke, odors from cooking, and cleaning product odors, but also eradicates exceptionally fine particles that other filters too often miss. The 5-stage filter eliminates bacteria and viruses and is designed with an Auto Shield mode (TCL patented) that detects air quality and adjust the fan speed to keep the air pure.
The features on this unit are simple, exactly what is needed for a fully functioning and efficient air purifier, and many. The control panel has an ON/OFF, Wi-Fi indicator, Timer, Filter indicator, Air Quality indicator with three distinct color levels for good, fair, and bad air. It is equipped with TCL’s patented “breevaShield” that can be toggled on or off to eliminate bacteria viruses. There is a Child Lock and an Ambient Light that is subtle and great for nights. With the app, various adjustments can be made, including the intensity of the ambient light, dimming, or turning off the light behind the control panel, setting the mode of the unit, setting the timer, etc. The unit also has a sleep mode that never gets over twenty-six decibels loud – it is an incredibly quiet unit. The app continuously tells what the air quality is in the room that the unit is sitting in and that is always visible and active on the app when the unit is turned on.
Being cylindrical adds to the sleekness of the design. It fits well in the corner of any room or just as easily along a wall. It is amazingly easy to maintain, and the filter icon will tell you when the filter needs replacing. Accessing the filter is quick and requires no tools. The filter is removed and replaced from the bottom of the unit.
Setup for the Breeze A3 is also extremely easy to do. The very first thing that one needs to do before plugging the unit into electricity and turning it on is to remove the filter from the bottom, remove the plastic from the filter, and replace the filter back into the unit. After turning the air purifier on, it paired instantly and allowed me to connect to the Wi-Fi in seconds. The app then began a firmware update and it stalled at 50%. Even though I have a higher speed internet, being sure my internet was stable seemed to be the key to completing the firmware update. The product worked beautifully and continues to do so. I really like the brevaShield feature, especially in the times that we are living in now. The timer is another notable feature, and it can be set in either 1H, 2H, 4H, or 8Hr increments. I also really like the look of the ambient light ring. The app is built well too and allows me to adjust and fine tune features, control the unit, set the timer, and the mode. I especially like the ability to visually see what the air quality is in the room the unit is working in, and to see it in real time.
This is an exceptionally good air purifier that has a small footprint and all the features that you need for smaller rooms. I highly recommend the TCL Breeze A-3 if you need an air purifier, and I definitely give it five out of five stars. Maybe you have not thought about actually needing an air purifier, but after looking at this one, you might decide it is perfect for you too.

Hour-glass design to clean air

This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.
The design, to me, resembles an hour-glass – so it is a tad different from the normal cylindrical shape of my other purifiers and I found the shape and black color a nice change from other units.
It is easy to use, and it seems to do a good job of cleaning the air. It is very quiet in sleep mode so much so that I replaced a different manufacturers unit in our bedroom with this one. You could have it next to your head and not hear it, but not sure how much air it is moving/cleaning. I did find the low speed gave out a rather low “hum” for lack of a better word. It disappeared when running medium or high speeds where I could just hear the air moving, like an old circulating fan would make. I tried removing/re-installing the filter but that didn’t seem to help. Also, while the app is easy to navigate, I could not find a way to set up a schedule – which was dis-appointing since this is a smart unit and I can access anywhere from my phone. So overall I would recommend but that hum on low speed is annoying but may be an issue with just my machine.
As far as setup I just used the QR code provided in the provided full manual. It took me to site to install the app. The machine connects to Wi-Fi using 2.4Ghz. Normally this means your phone must be on the same band to finish the install/connection – but I had my phone on 5Ghz to see if it would install – and it did! This is how all devices should work. After installation of app there was a firmware update which took a few minutes to complete.
The app is easy to navigate, and I like that the filter estimate is in hours not percentage (starts at 2160 hours)– gives a better indicator if the life of the filter – but I don’t know if fan speed impacts it though – lower speed running less air = more hours to replacement? But as I stated there appears to be no way to setup a schedule for device.
The units controls are pretty standard for these devices these days with On/Off, Wi-fi indicator, Mode (speed), Timer (1/2/4/8 hours), Filter reset, Air Quality (white = excellent, yellow = medium and red -= poor – in the app you can see particulate count and history as well) breevaShield turns anion/UV-C function on/off) Child Lock and Ambient light (an LED light that runs around the middle of the device – kind of like a night light – could be good for child or dorm room – brightness can be controlled from app).
It’s a nice size (9 x 9 x 19 in) and is light enough to easily move from room-to-room or change the filter.
One of the issues I have had with using prior air purifiers is – how do you know if it is working - cleaning the air? Upon plugging this unit in I set it to auto and it registered white which is in the excellent range, and it basically stayed there for a couple days of running. As I have done with other units, I fried some foods which seems to fill the air with pollutants and is a good way to test. The unit went yellow quickly and took a couple of hours to go back to white. Unit is rated for 246 ft. The living room we have the unit in is around 300 ft with 12-foot ceilings – and is open to the kitchen.
Manual suggests vacuuming the filter every few weeks and dusting off the unit with a dry rag. To change filter is easy – just flip unit over and unscrew base.
Having a child lock is a great idea as my grandsons like to play with the lights.
1-year warranty
I have tested 4 other air purifiers from different manufacturers, and I would put this number 2 on my favorites list. Also only 2 of the others have function to setup schedule.

Good bedroom purifier. I looked for a while and decided that a hepafilter purifier is pretty much the same concept regardless the price point. I wanted something simple, modern and something that wouldn’t stick out like a sore thumb.
This TCL unit is perfect. Got it on the desk of the day for $99 so literally couldn’t beat it. I’ve used dyson filters before but I wasn’t impressed for the price point on those. TCL has very decent unit, this purifier looks great and I love the integrated light.

Breathe a Little Easier

I have several different brands of air purifiers in my house. I have 2 dogs, a bird and live in an area where we get lots of wildfire smoke, so all my air purifiers get a good testing in my house. I took the opportunity to test the TCL Breeva A3 in my home alongside both cheaper and much more expensive air purifiers and here’s what I thought.
Looks and Style:
I like the hourglass look of the Breeva A3. In the middle of the unit lies a ring of light that is used as the nightlight on the unit and definitely adds some class and style to the unit. The black finish and the ability to turn off all the lights is also great. The unit is small enough to fit in most spaces without being a nuisance.
Functionality:
You can totally use the TCL Breeva A3 as a dumb device without using any of it’s Smart functions, but you get some really neat control over the unit when you load the TCL Home app on your smart phone and connect the unit to WiFi. You’ll get options to adjust the brightness of the nightlight or completely turn it off and you’ll get a sleep timer function. I don’t believe any of these are available through the front panel. I would definitely load the smart phone app and tinker around with it. I primarily use the TCL on the Auto function with the UV sanitization on and it seems to work very well on this setting, only adjusting the fan speed when it detects an issue with the air quality.
I do have an issue with how the filter needs to be loaded into the unit. In order to load a replacement filter into the unit, you have to turn the unit over and unlatch the bottom cover. This is different from most other units that don’t need to be turned completely over to access the filter. The filter is easy to replace and I had no issues inserting it into the unit or latching the cover.
Performance and Noise:
There are 4 levels on this unit, Auto, and 3 additional speeds. On Auto the unit stays mostly quiet unless it detects a degradation in air quality. On the first 2 settings the unit is relatively quiet, but on the max speed setting it does produce a significant amount of noise, which might be very nice for people that sleep with white noise in their bedroom. There is also an ultra-quiet sleep mode which I believe puts the fan on an even lower setting than the low setting on the panel. There is a bit of vibration due to how the fan is oriented in the unit, but the soft feet seem to absorb these vibrations well and I have no issues with the unit moving while on the floor.
This unit states it’s good enough to clean a room up to 246 sq ft and I believe that’s probably correct based on how much air it moves on the high setting. TCL advertises the unit as having 5 stage filtration. It has a pre-filter, carbon filter, HEPA filter and uses UV-C and “anion” to destroy the DNA of airborne viruses, etc. Of course I can’t test if any of these features really work, so I have to trust the engineers and testing done by 3rd parties for these kinds of claims.
Overall:
I really like this unit. It’s low profile, looks good and seems to function well. Filters are all in one in design and are easy enough to replace. I couldn’t find replacement filters online yet, so I’m unsure of the cost of a replacement unit, but the manual states that you should replace them every 6 months or depending on usage.

Great Investment

[Pro: Small footprint]
In my opinion, the Breeva A3 is sized perfectly. It’s large enough to be effective, but small enough to take up minimal space.
[Pro: Easy Setup/Simplistic App]
Device setup through the app is straightforward, and instructions are easy to understand. While adjusting settings through “TCL Home”, my device immediately responded and reflected the correct changes.
[Pro: Operates quietly in different modes]
Although different fan mode levels are offered, I typically use the Breeva A3 on the lowest setting. I was pleased with how quietly the device performed despite past experience with certain products being much louder. The A3 also performs very quiet is sleep mode which is my favorite. I normally experience sinus issues during sleep or when waking up. With the Breeva purifier, I actually noticed an improvement with my nasal congestion which is a big plus.
[Con: Filter replacement is a small hassle]
To replace the filter, TCL requires the purifier to be turned upside down. Turning over such a delicate product for routine maintenance doesn’t sit well with me. The replacement process itself is not difficult, but I would prefer to physically protect major investments.
[Con: Clunky power adapter]
The A3 is sized nicely, but the AC Adapter is large enough to interfere other devices.
Overall, the A3 is great purifying device. Filtration seems to works well with my noticing a slightly improvement with my sleep. I would highly recommend the A3.

I live in area where forest fires are common so smoke from that does affect the household at times, also I suffer from allergies. Owning an air purifier makes sense and TCL offers models with the highest True HEPA ratings in all Breeva Air Purifier units to ensure better, fresher air for users.
The air purifier has a sleek, modern design that is quiet and feature a three-step purification system, eliminating up to 99.97% of microbes to help improve air quality. This model also features Anion and UV-C Sterilization technology to allow an even deeper clean from finer particles and harmful microbes such as bacteria and viruses. It cleans the air in as little of 12 minutes and the True HEPA filter removes mold and other harmful molecules while an Activated Carbon filter protects against odors, smoke, and VOCs that also result from activities such as cooking and cleaning.
On setup you follow the quick start instruction which has remove the filter to take off the plastic and place back into the unit. Once you power it on the fan is set to auto so that’s pretty much all you need to do other options on the panel are Timer, breevaShield (for anion/UV-C feature) Filter status, Air Quality indicator, Ambient Light and Child Lock. There is Wi-Fi on this unit so you can access smart features via the TCL app and this is where I ran into my first issue. Enabling the Wi-Fi by depressing the power button in stand-by mode for 3 seconds (as per instructions) did not work at first. After many attempts the only thing that worked was unplugging and re-plugging the unit, turning it on, slightly touch and hold the power button for 3 seconds. While using the TCL Home app it asked for your Wi-Fi SSID and password (manual and old fashion way of connecting device to Wi-Fi) then it connects to device which you see various options, but I only briefly saw these option because the app did a firmware update and restarted. After this event the app no longer worked with only turn on/off the power feature working. I’m using a newly bought Google Pixel 6 as my phone so this may be a factor. I could not test any of the smart features via app which seems to be a bit buggy on my phone.
When I first used the device was cooking which generated some smoke that the purifier quickly got rid of. It also took away the odor in the vicinity and have not had any allergic reactions lately, so it does seem to work but a little disappointed I’m not able to utilize any of the smart features.

It's tough to rate an air cleaner, you can't easily see how well it's actually working to purify the air. Especially when you already have a high-end air purifier running in your home. That's the situation I'm in, but the air purifier we have is in the main room, and we wanted something for our master bedroom.
For that purpose this is perfect. It's a good size, looks nice and blends in to the room. That's actually one of the things I like about it as some air purifiers can be large and ugly, not this one though. It even has a nice ambient light. As for how well it purifies the air, it seems to do its job.
While it's doing that job though, the fan makes a lot of noise. It's definitely not the quitest air purifier and can be distracting. But sometimes a negative can turn out to be a positive. In my case, my wife has to have a fan on at night to sleep, and this air purify makes the perfect amount of fan noise for her. Even better, it means I was able to get rid of the ugly big fan we had in our bedroom. So for that reason alone this air purifier was worth it.
Another plus is that it's easy to use with simple controls. On the negative side though the build quality feels a bit cheap.
Overall it's a decent air purifier. It does what its supposed and looks pretty good doing it.

The TCL breeva A3 Air Purifier with Wi-Fi has been a great addition to our home. Within the first hour of use in our room, we could tell that the air quality had improved and the room smelled better.
Unboxing and Setup
The A3 was easy to unbox and set up. Instructions printed on the box lid provided easy to follow instructions. We removed the wrapping, plastic label instructions, and turned the unit over to remove the filter cover, the filter itself, and the wrapping around the filter. Putting the filter back in was also easy. We plugged in the unit and turned on the unit by pressing the power icon on the top of the unit.
There are eight control icon buttons across the top of the unit. Unfortunately there are no words under the icons to indicate what they are for. However, the user manual provides a clear guide.
The TCL Home App
The manual has a QR code which, when scanned, will launch the download of the TCL Home App. It works on iOS and Android devices. After installing the App, and pressing the power button on the A3 for 3 seconds, the App guided me through connecting to the A3 via Wi-Fi. The App performed a firmware update to the A3 and then we were up and running. The App provides full control of the A3.
Features
• Easy to set up and use
• TCL Home App for iOS & Android controls the unit through Wi-Fi (2.4GHz)
• Composite filter removes smoke, dust, pollen, bacteria PM2.5 particles, odors, and formaldehyde.
• The App indicates remaining filter life in hours
• Adjustable night light around the waist
• Countdown timer for shutdown
• Shield mode for performing a deep sterilize/purify of the air
• Child lock mode to prevent controls on the A3 from being used
• Can save a specific configuration to a Favorite mode
• Uses a UV-C emitter for sterilizing the air which can be turned on/off
• Adjustable fan speed
• Automatic mode will sense air quality and adjust itself appropriately
• Sleep mode for reducing all lights to 50% brightness
• Wi-Fi signal strength indicator
• Air quality indicator of excellent (white), medium (yellow), and poor (red)
• The TLC Home App can be controlled via Alexa and Google voice
• Filter can be cleaned with a vacuum cleaner (recommended every two weeks)
• If filter is replaced, the filter life hours can be reset
• Clean air deliver rate is 158 cfm, 270 m3/h
Summary
We are very pleased with the breeva A3 Air Purifier. We live in the Pacific Northwest and the pollen and smoke (forest fires) can be quite bad. We also have several cats and the A3 has done a wonderful job of removing odors.
We highly recommend this quality air purifier for helping you to breathe easier.

- didn’t have a clue TCL even make air purifiers but this Breeva A3 so far is beautifully designed air purifier that doesn’t cost as heavy compared to some over price purifiers out there
- first the design looks very aesthetically pleasing to look at with its modern design , it looks good around your home. its kinda like a rounded short tower, the filter is at the bottom and is also easy to replace, at the center section of Breeva A3 has a bonus night light that can be adjust from 0-100 percent bright, 100% doesn’t mean it’s a super bright light but enough to give a little light effects during at night, it looks great during the dark
- everything can be done through the top of main device without needing the app, you have the on/off button all the way to the fan speed and light option
- downloading the TCL Home app is something that you would want to have for sure, first it will update your Breeva A3 to its latest version, you can turn the device on/ off from the app. you will also have the ability to see your filters remaining life. having the ability to change the mode of the air purifier will also be accessible through the app.
- the app also offer Shield setting to be turn on off , turning it on provide the air purifier to do deep sterilize and purify the air, a timer countdown and the child lock option as well.
- fan noise is also wasn’t an issue for me, I wish I can measure the noise level but from personal experience it did not bother my while preparing myself for bed. TCL Breeva A3 does offer night mode, and it will drop the fan to its lowest noise level, its almost silent when night mode is on.
- the best part about using the app beyond of how simple and easy it is, is the ability to see your air quality, the app will show if your air is great or not, the color around the animated picture changes it’s color depending if you good or bad air quality.
- I had a much more expensive air purifier that literally doesn’t do what TCL Breeva even offers, the app alone is one of the most important part when it comes to air purifier, expensive air purifier that doesn’t support a robust app that it’s design to help the user are disappointing, TCL excel by providing a product that won’t brake the bank and offer an application that will be useful to its users.
- some might find the filter to be expensive but I think $47 at amazon for this kind of device is a decent price, some expensive purifier would cost double of that price. I love this air purifier it has the looks and features that matter to me. the light in the app that shows the quality of air inside my home is an A+ in my book

Seems to make a Positive Difference

I got this device partly to help with my allergies and asthma. Thus far I have largely used it when I sleep and have noticed a positive difference in the amount of sinus congestion I experience upon awakening. I also got this item to help minimize dust accumulation on my electronic devices since it tends to build up on them in a fairly short period of time. It seems to be working there to a degree, as well.
This particular air purifier has a number of features that I really like. I picked out this air purifier for my bedroom, which is a smaller room. Since there are a variety of air purifiers available that largely vary by how much space they can effectively work in, it was important for me to determine the right purifier to purchase based on the size of the room I wanted to use it in. This purifier was that for me. The information to make the right decision as to what device was appropriate for my room/set-up was readily available and it was modestly priced so I really appreciate that. This particular air purifier has several levels of filtration, including a UV mode to nuke pathogens, which is nice too. The HEPA filter that the device came with is nice and seems to have a reasonably long life (after running it nightly for about the last three months it still has about 75% life left). Another feature that I really like is the remote app for this device that can be installed on a mobile phone. I use it a lot and particularly I appreciate the features that allows me to turn on/off the panel LED as well as actively monitor how much life the HEPA filter has left until it needs to be replaced. It also comes with a night light, which I found interesting, but I haven’t had much experience with using that.
My complaints for this device are minimal but I do have a few. First, there is a real dearth of credible information online (or elsewhere) for how to set up devices like this. Some of the questions I had with regards to setting up this device included: where to put it, how long to run it for, and how much clearance I needed to have around it for it to be effective? There is just no consistently credible information available with regards to questions like that so it would have been nice had TCL actually included some official information that could have been used with regards to setting the device up to maximize it’s efficiency. There are also a few features on the TCL Home app that are impossible to control without it including turning the LED lights on/off. This can be inconvenient if my phone is off (or out of battery) right before bed. It also was somewhat difficult to pair to my phone via the Wi-Fi mode it comes with but I did get it to pair eventually. It would also be nice if TCL would maybe provide links in their app with regards to where replacement filters could be found? It is inevitable that the filter will have to be replaced eventually and I haven’t found a way to confidentially replace the filter at this time.
Overall, this is a nice device and I am glad I have incorporated it into my bedroom. I have noticed a reasonable reduction in dust accumulation in my room since I started using it and that is great. Thanks.

I've been so impressed with this compact unit. First, it's very easy to use. The app is great and it allows me to control remotely and integrate with Google Assistant. Breeva's done a fantastic job of purifying the air in my home. I used to have sneezing fits regularly, which are now gone, and the air just seems fresher. The automatic mode does a great job of regulating fan speeds to changes it detects in air quality, e.g. when it's windy outside, or when I'm cooking, it senses it all! The sleep mode also allows me to keep it running throughout the night while it stays very, very quiet. The design is simple and modern, it certainly doesn't look like just another appliance. The nightlight is a small, but clever part of the design too. TCL's done a fantastic job of making an air purifier that's both powerful and simple.

I've been using this Air Purifier for a couple of months now and I have to admit that I truly love it. I suffer from bad allergies and I would be sneezing a lot during the night ,but since I bought this, it helps me to sleep better. I've recommended it to friends and family.

I've owned lots of Air Purifiers from brands like Levoit and others. They're usually pretty straight forward and basic: A Fan + A filter (or a few), the purifier sucks air through the filter and traps any dust inside.
This one is no exception, and fortunately it has an "Auto" mode which means it will detect the air quality and adjust power as needed.
I've used everything from the small (~125 sq. ft) purifiers up to large ones (500+ sq. ft) and I have to say.. even on the lowest setting, the Breeva A3 is by far the loudest. And not in a white noise kind of way, but in a squeeky old fan kind of way. It's not a "hum", it's clearly a spinning plastic fan noise.
Sitting 10+ feet away, you'll hear it very annoyingly. I couldn't sleep with this one, and I can sleep with a TV on.
Next up: The Wifi. The Wifi is pretty terrible. I downloaded the TCL app, I set the purifier on Wifi and connected it, and it still rarely shows up on the app (it usually shows "Powered Off" for the status, when it's clearly on and connected to wifi). If I close and re-open it a few times, it will show the correct status.
The filter itself is pretty minimal compared to others. It seems like a lighter weight option, but it's very difficult to find a replacement. If you do, expect to spend 50% of the cost of the purifier to replace the filter (which is expected every 3 months)
The shape is big and bulky, with a ring of light in the center. Cool! I figured it would be like my Levoit ones where it shows the air quality as a color: Blue = Great, Green = Good, Yellow = OK, Red = Bad. But no, the light stays Yellow the entire time. The only way to tell the air quality is by the app, or a small icon on the controls on TOP of the purifier (which will be either White, Yellow or Red). Seemed like a total waste to not change the giant colored ring in the middle of the purifier instead.
Other than that, it has an option to turn the light off, it has 4 speed settings, it has a lock feature to prevent kids/pets from changing settings, and it has a UV-C Filter.
If you watch the video, it even has a humidifier in it! ..Or at least it looked like it did. Apparently they mixed multiple models of the "Breeva" line in the video. The A3 does not have a humidifier at all.
Overall, I bought this on clearance for more than half off. It cleans the air, but is incredibly loud in doing so. If it was even a bit quieter, I'd be fine with the other downsides.

Great price, great value. This air purifier is very modern looking and I really like the built in light. Got mine on sale but I would've bought it either way because I prefer how it looks over the other options in this price arena.

Ever since the purchase the air quality seems much better. The allergies we would have do to either the animals or weather seemed to have dropped. Also have an added bonus that it cools the air acting as a slight cooling device which I love.

This product is amazingly helping my spouse to deal with her sinus. It cleans the room area and we breathe a clean and fresh air.
