Spectacular Set of Earbuds, Awesome!

I listen to voluminous amounts of music and I was anxious to get my hands on this Panasonic - Technics Premium HiFi True Wireless Earbuds with Noise Cancelling, and Wireless Charging - product.
I already own around 5 different earbud products from various manufacturers and I truly love this Panasonic-Technics set of earbuds. They have a super comfortable wear, look great and the sound is awesome. I have several favorite songs that I listen to and play almost daily and these earbuds produce sharp, clear crisp sound reproductions! Amazing highs and low bass sounds abound! I’m hearing more enhanced sounds that I’m used to hearing with my “other buds”.
Battery life is expansive if you consider the case adds extra listening life to these earbuds. These earbuds have controls on both the left and right sides which are easily accessed and they are customizable too! The Technics Audio Connect is great. It works well with my iPhone 13 Pro and pairing these buds was quick and effortlessly!
The app is highly customizable and I found it to bug free. The choice of customization is huge and one of my favorite tweaks is to have my music cease or stop when buds are removed from ears. Upon inserting them once again your music selection picks up exactly where you left off! You can also utilize multipoint for several music sources. You are also able to preset a music listening favorite and save it. I can go on and on but suffice to say that this product beats all competition hands down.
I’m always skeptical when it comes to noise cancellation claims but I was quite surprised with the results. I am within earshot of a major thoroughfare so I decided to sit in my backyard to see just how effective it was. Usually I can hear the big rigs (18 wheelers) rumble in the distance. When I tested this product I truly heard only music with these earbuds! No extraneous sounds bled through during my listening experience. That was also true for receiving and talking on the phone. Pure sound with no bleed through. Amazing!
I am absolutely thrilled with this product. Fantastic sound abounds with rich bass and superior treble. This product is a Winner!
Thank you for your enthusiastic review of the Technics Earbuds! It's great to hear that you found these earbuds to surpass your expectations and that the noise cancellation worked effectively. Enjoy your music! -M

Premium Earbuds Indeed!

Panasonic Technics is a premium tier audio brand. These are one of the newest earbuds in the market and wow, they have blown my expectations away. The price is a bit on the higher side, but the earbuds do come with some premium features many other flagship headphones do not have and to an extent, justifies the price. In this review, I will explain my thoughts on the Panasonic Technics.
*TLDR at the bottom
==============================================
IN THE BOX/FIT:
In the box, you get the earbuds in a sleek matte black case. The top has a brushed metal feel and has the Technics logo in gold. The earbuds themselves also contain a similar look with the brushed metal and Technics logo on the top. While I like how the earbuds feel, I would have preferred completely black earbuds without the logo. The logo is nice touch, but I do like more of a low-key look rather than a logo plastered on top which screams “look at me.” There are also extra ear tips, a USB-C to USB-C charging cable, and some documentation.
These are comfortable earbuds. On a scale from 1-10, I would place these at a solid 10. These are up there with some of the most comfortable earbuds I have ever tested. There have been times where I have had these in my ears for a couple of hours and no discomfort was ever felt. Another plus is that these don’t fall out of your ears easily when moving around. It is rare to find earbuds that fit perfectly in your ear, and these are one of them. If you do get these, I recommend playing around with the different sized ear tips to find the “perfect” fit. I also like how both the headphones and case have some material where fingerprints won’t be an issue.
==============================================
SOUND QUALITY:
In terms of sound, these earbuds sound amazing. If your phone has an option for Dolby Atmos or LDAC, I certainly recommend you enable the setting. Music, movies, podcasts sound 100% better when these modes are enabled. Lows, mids, and highs are all balanced and not one overpowers the other. I’m a bass head with certain genres of music but I do listen to some genres where bass isn’t the biggest focus and having a balanced sound is preferred. These earbuds allow for just that: balance!
==============================================
AUDIO CONNECT APP/OTHER FEATURES:
While the Audio Connect app is optional, I do recommend it since it will unlock many features that can enhance your listening experience. Some of the features that can be accessed within the app are EQ settings, switching between ambient and noise cancelling modes, renaming headphones, enabling LDAC, and more!
These earbuds can be connected to three devices at the same time which is certainly impressive. Switching between devices was seamless and no issues arose.
An underrated feature is the call quality. I have used these for work calls, and they do sound fantastic. No complaints in the call quality area!
==============================================
POSSIBLE AREAS OF IMPROVEMENT:
An area where I thought these earbuds could be improved upon is the noise cancelling feature. The Technics don’t have the best NC for premium earbuds. I have tested out cheaper earbuds with slightly better NC than these. Nevertheless, the feature is still good, but I did notice more sound being allowed through with the Technics compared to others.
Another area is the case. These earbuds are considered “premium”, but I felt the case did not get that same love that the earbuds did. I have tried out a myriad of earbuds and the plastic case for the Technics have the same quality and feel that some of the cheaper brands have. $300 is a lot for earbuds so as a consumer it would be nice to get your money’s worth.
==============================================
CONCLUSION/TLDR:
Overall, these are an excellent pair of premium earbuds. You will be getting your hard-earned money’s worth with these for the most part. There were some minor features that could have been better but honestly, I know many will enjoy having and using these. If you are someone who is looking for premium earbuds with plenty of great features like multipoint connection, LDAC, and wireless charging, these Technics by Panasonic are a perfect choice.

TLDR: I’ve been fortunate to be able to test headphones from nearly every manufacturer. These rank as one of the best I’ve tried.
INITIAL SET-UP
The Technics app is very simple to understand and straightforward. I tried it on both my iPad and my Samsung Galaxy phone. The app performed flawlessly on either device. That can’t often be said for some other vendors, so Technics deserves kudos for doing a great job of making an app easy to use and functional on various platforms.
USE
I tested the new Technics earbuds with nearly every music genre imaginable. I tried a bunch of different music styles: Rap, Rock, Classic Rock, Hair Metal, New Country, Classic Country, Beethoven, Bach, Hip-Hop, Oldies. You name it, all courtesy of Amazon Music in HD or better. These Technics nailed it. Their music reproduction and clarity rivals ANY of the other manufacturers I’ve tried. Mids and highs are transparent and energetic. The built-in amps never felt strained or overburdened, even during loud passages. These are one of the only headphones or earbuds I’ve tried that made me stop multi-tasking just to listen to them. Their effortless mids and highs are crystal clear with no hint of muddiness. Vocals are clean and crisp and quite honestly, these ear buds offer some of the best detail and clarity I’ve ever experienced.
Movies were impressive, but this is where the Technics gave up some of their magic. Yes, vocals and audio were pristine and easy to understand. But they were so clean that they did give up some of the immersion I get from Technics competitors. The movie soundstage was just not as immersive and enveloping as other products on the market.
Active Noise Cancellation has proven to be very good. Easily drowning out ambient noise around my office and home. Technics claims 7.5 hours of battery life per charge, and I found that to be about right. Listening to music, often at loud levels, I lost about 20% battery life in around 1.5hrs. Not bad at all considering the volume at which I was listening at and using ANC. The provided carrying case allows for up to 25 hours of use before a full recharge is needed.
NEGATIVES
The only real fault I can find is in the bass response. Technics lists the overall frequency response as 40Hz to 20kHz. That leaves some on the bottom end that is untapped and unobtainable. This is the one time that Technics’ competition makes up some of the ground they have lost to these excellent buds.
CONCLUSIONS
There really isn’t anything not to like about these ear buds. Technics has produced an excellent product. A product that is so crisp and detailed, it caught me off guard when I first tried them on. All the latest tech specs are there too: Bluetooth 5.3, ANC, Multi-Device Pairing, LDAC support, Hi-Res Audio Support, Wireless charging.
At the end of the day, do the Technics have what it takes to take over the top spot in my current headphone and ear bud selection? The answer is YES. While other buds or headphones do movies better, NONE of my others have the detail and clarity in the mids and highs that the Technics provide.
There are some products that deserve the praise, some that don’t. The Technics AZ80’s in one product that deserves the high praise.
HIGHLY RECOMMENDED
Thank you for your detailed review of the Technics earbuds! It's great to hear that you found them to be among the best you've tried, especially in terms of music reproduction and clarity. Your feedback is highly valuable and we deeply appreciate your recommendation! -M

Excellent audio quality with rich bass and crisp trebles. Sound can be further adjusted with a 5 band equalizer (as well as several presets) in the accompanying app. There's an LDAC mode, which further improves the dynamic range if your device supports it. Active noise cancelling is quite good, although it doesn't completely block out ambient sound (I could still hear the quiet whirring of my bathroom fan, which I would've thought would be completely eliminated, considering it's essentially white noise). There's also a sound transparency feature which can be helpful for people who want to be more aware of sounds around them while they're listening to media, but I always find this feature to sound odd and unnatural.
Multipoint connection works smoothly -- I tested it on my Pixel 7 Pro and Pixelbook, and the connection worked fine between the two. You can connect up to 3 devices, but LDAC can't be used in that situation.
Fit is excellent. My initial concern with the shape was that it would be bulky and uncomfortable, but it felt great even after an hour of uninterrupted use. Panasonic thoughtfully included 5 different earbud sizes/shapes as opposed to the usual 3 (but the ones that came preinstalled were perfect for me). Touch sensor buttons work fine, and it's nice that you can customize them using the app, since the factory defaults don't make complete sense to me.
Mic quality is the main weak spot. I tested making phone calls, and even from a quiet environment, my wife noted that my voice was distorted and choppy. I also tested by making a call to my own office voicemail and playing it back. My wife's Pixel Buds A are far superior in terms of mic quality (and those were 1/3 the cost of these earbuds).
Build quality is excellent. The earbuds and the case are made of sleek metal with a nice matte texture that won't attract fingerprints. The case also supports wireless charging.
Overall, these earbuds are terrific for listening, but not great for phone calls, which is why I'm docking one star (and if you use your earbuds a lot for calls, I'd dock two stars). Considering the pretty high price (more than both the AirPods Pro and the Pixel Buds Pro), I would expect superior quality in all respects, not just audio.
Thank you for sharing your detailed 4-star review with us! Your feedback helps us improve our product for everyone. -C

I really like these earbuds. I often have problems with earbuds falling out of my ears when I’m active. The Technics - Premium HiFi True Wireless Earbuds with Noise Cancelling earbuds do NOT fall out nor do they move positions in my ear. They are so comfortable. They do NOT make my ear itch like some earbuds do. I must really have strange ear canals as I seem to require a different size earbud pads in each ear. These earbuds come with a total of 14 pads so it was easy to find the ones that not only fit comfortable but also worked well with the noise canceling benefit.
I wish the light that tells if they are fully charged stayed on when I open the lid of the charging case. There are two lights that come on immediately upon opening but one goes off in just a few seconds. I have to look quick. The case and the earbuds are easy to charge with the enclosed (very short) cord. It does not come with a charging block but m phone charging block worked perfectly. The case is light enough that I can just leave it hanging in mid-air when charging without any problems.
The sound is amazing both when talking on phone or listening to music/podcasts. So far it has been water resistant as I wear it when I sweat and in light rain showers. Being a gal my shoulder length hair does protect them some from sweat and rain. These are perfect for wearing when I’m cleaning and don’t have my phone on me. The company says the Maximum Wireless Range
33 feet but I have no idea. So far I have had no problems with cutting out or disconnecting when my phone is in an other room. I am well pleased with these top of the line earbuds.
They were easy to set up and sync with my phone using the free APP. Oh yeah and they come with a manual which is rare these days. I did need a magnifying glass to read it though.
Thank you for sharing your experience with the Technics Earbuds! It's great to hear that they provide a secure fit and comfort during your active routines. -M

I love earbuds. Use them every day so I've been through quite a few, from high end ones to value ones. These Technics I would consider more on the high end side and at this price point, I expect a lot. The short will be that Technics delivered. I really like the blue color that I got. It looks really nice both the case and the earbuds themselves. The case is small, compact enough to fit in the small pocket of most jeans without being uncomfortable or protruding. But that also gives me the only gripe I have about these earbuds. The case lid is not as tight as I would like, it is very loose and I can see that it easily can open with not much effort. Also the magnets holding the earbuds are also not very secure. A hard shake will get them to pop right out. That is the only thing I don't like. Everything else is awesome. The app is well detailed with lots of options to control what you want to do with these earbuds. It even has an option to go through the fittings of the ear tips to find the best fit for your ears and I have never had any earbuds that gave you this many ear tips, so most people with find one that fits their ears perfectly. I'm not a fan of touch earbuds but the Technics has to be the best I've ever used. I didn't have any miss touches while at the gym which has always been my biggest gripe about touch earbuds. It was also a nice tight fit that didn't come loose while exercising but also felt very light. I would have no discomfort even having them on at the gym for a couple of hours. But most importantly, all the main features on the Technics was awesome. Noise cancellation, one of the best in the industry. Sound, amazing. I'm a bass head and it did not disappoint. Call quality, awesome. I have to take work calls at times while at the gym and the gym is a very noisy area. I've apologized to customers about the noisy situation I was in and every one of them has said they couldn't hear anything. I was so impressed that I didn't have to go outside and could have a conversation inside the gym and the other person on the line had no issues hearing me. Definitely get these Technics, it does everything well.
Thank you for taking the time to share your thoughts and feedback with us. We're grateful for your honest feedback and we're glad you feel we're on the right track! We are delighted to know that you like the touch sensor the earbuds have and the noise cancellation feature as well. We hope to make your experience even better in the future! - S

These are the best earbuds I have ever tried. No matter how long you have these on, you'll never feel them in the ears.
I am very impressed with these as the performance doesn't change with the type of activity being performed e.g. running, brisk walking, or other exercises all around the gym. Not to mention the sound quality which is excellent & fits nicely around my ears. This has many levels of noise cancellation like regular, ambient, and attention, each one is effective and can feel the difference easily. This set is wireless Qi charging compatible but needs to be purchased separately as it does not come with the wireless charger. The battery life is longer than other earbuds and lasts up to 7 hours and the case can further provide a quick charge of additional 70 minutes. Being water-resistant allows these to be worn in light rain or while working out. The case is portable and can be easily carried around. Not just these, it can easily be controlled via voice commands by using the voice assistant of your choice. If required, a single earbud can also be used and allows either the other ear to stay open or charge the other one. All-in-all, this is a great set to own.
It's great to hear that you're highly satisfied with the earbuds you've tried. The comfort, performance, and versatility you described make them sound like an excellent choice for various activities. Thank you for sharing your positive experience! -M

Upgrading from beats pro earbuds, so was hesitant. Im not the typical user because i use my headphones for everything (work, gym, outdoor chores) so comfort is almost always priority. After using the medium standard earbud tips, i figured i was bound to return these because once i would start sweating they would start slipping out. The beats were top tier because of the wings that lock them in your ear. After trying out the tips (and using the built in app tester) and finding the appropriate size it was a huge difference. These buds lock into your ear canal by twisting them in and they hold in pretty well. The sound are amazing on these compared to beats, and they have alot of touch functionality, which helps avoiding to pull outnyour phone while working out. Mic is really solid, i haven't gotten any complaints from the wife when we are on the phone. The ANC is customizable to what degree of soundblocking you want from 0-100, which is a cool feature using the app. You only have the option of switching from "ANC on" to "ambient" via the earbuds. You can switch it off via the app. The only con i can probably say after owning them for a couple of weeks would be, i can kind of hear my steps (probably ANC or earbud ergonomicd related) when walking around. I haven't tried these running since i own some shokz and some jbl headphones. This is me really just nit-picking but overall these headphones supercede my expectations. Oh also just a heads up, the build quality on these are very solid. I was working on my roof hanging lights (before finding the correct tips for me) when one of my earbuds decide to yeet itself off my roof. Rolled about 60 feet and flew off a 10ft roof on to my driveway. Got off the roof, put my music on max, and located my earbud. There was very little to no damage after that epic adventure and they continued working properly as before.
We deeply appreciate you took the time to provide us with your feedback! We are happy to hear the product meets your expectations. We are delighted to hear that you found the fit and now the earbuds sit comfortably on your ears. Thank you for letting us know how much you enjoy the sound quality and noise cancellation. It's been years since I've come across the Technics brand. I remember them as making really high end receivers years ago when I was growing up. So I was very surprised to see the brand name resurface with these earbuds. And boy did they get it right. These are hands down the best earbuds I've ever used, from comfort, to features, to sound. Everything about them is perfect. First, the most important attribute of earbuds, sound. The sound is so crisp, everything I listened to, from Nina Simone to the National sounded like I was hearing the music anew. The lows and highs all hit the perfect pitch. Not to mention these earbuds have the most fully customizable sound via the app so you can tune it to how you like it. Second, these buds have a very comfortable fit. They come with an arsenal of different sized tips, so there is likely a size for everyone. They stick in you ear with a little twist, and I've never felt like they loosened over time. Third, they look great. The case and the outside of the earbuds have a milled finish, giving them a very high end appearance. Fourth, the app is the best I've seen. Everything is fully customizable, from the sound to the amount of ambient noise you want to let through. And last but not least, these are the only earbuds I've used that allows me to connect to multiple devices. I've owned multiple pairs of earbuds that have been rendered useless because the pairing function eventually breaks down from constantly pairing and unpairing. I have these paired to my phone and laptop and I never have to worry. The only flaw I've found so far is the very annoying voice that says "connected" 2-4 (maybe 6 if you have 3 devices connected) times (once for each earbud and once for each device) every time you put them in your ear. Some sort of ding would suffice, and I haven't found a way to turn the voice off. The only other improvement I would make to these is to support some of the new 3D sound formats, like Dolby Atmos, but they sound so good as they are it wouldn't be a dealbreaker for me.
Highly recommend!

Sometime during 2023, Technics launched a pair of earbuds which would be their primary earbuds namely the AZ60M2 and its bigger sibling the AZ80. These two I believe are the follow up to the AZ60 and the AZ70 a few years back. And I find it quite odd that the AZ60 has a Mark 2 but the AZ70 has the AZ80 as its replacements. Nonetheless, this review will focus primarily focus on the AZ80 and with some reference to the AZ60M2.
First these two generally identical to each other. In fact I have both the AZ80 and AZ60M2. Thankfully my AZ80 is colored midnight blue and my AZ60M2 is colored black. But if you look closely at both, the AZ80’s mic and earpiece are angled more on a horizontal plane aligning with the Technics logo whereas the AZ60’s mic and earpiece are angled downwards. Perhaps that’s the most distinguishable difference between the two models aside from the gold Technics logo on top of the case so as to indicate that the AZ80 is the premium product.
Both models share similar features which are included in the app. Bothe models come with eight pairs of earpieces to accommodate various ear sizes. And within the app, there is a best earpiece fit which detects if there are sound leakages. Both models have the standard features of ANC earbuds namely control of ANC and ambient sound plus EQ presets as well as a custom eq. The earbuds are also touch control which can be adjusted through the app again a standard feature for most ANC earbuds. And both are built with premium quality plastic which does not either model feel cheap.
As for the sound quality, the AZ80 as well as the AZ60M2 support AAC and AptX. I do not have an Android device so I can only evaluate audio coming from an iPhone. I general the sound profile is conservative. And though it can be loud it does not raucous sound profile like that of Airpods (2nd gen) and some other earbuds. Instead, the sound is much cleaner or refined when used in loud volumes.
The AZ80 has larger driver obviously being the premium earbud compared to the AZ60M2. As mentioned earlier, the sound profile is very similar to each other. But one thing I have noticed is that the AZ80 still has clarity at full volume whereas the AZ60M2 has a little bit of distortion but barely noticeable.
In conclusion the AZ80 is the better model of the two obviously. But its younger sibling is not far behind. If you want to splurge, I would definitely recommend the AZ80.
Thank you so much for taking the time to leave us a fantastic 5-star review. We're absolutely thrilled to hear about your positive experience with us. Your recommendation is valued! -C

I am always looking for a good set of earbuds as I tend to wear them out quickly. I am always on the go and can be wearing them for 8 hours straight for business / personal use. I decided to try these out as I have always been a fan of high quality earbuds. I am glad I did as I was impressed with the ease of setup and comfort level within my ears. The packaging was nice and simple which I like incase I ever need to take that box with me for whatever reason. The earbuds were very easy to setup with the the app downloaded from the google store. I use a Note 20 Ultra and did not run into any problems with the setup. They include a ton of different size earbuds to allow for comfortable fit although I ended up wearing the standard medium ones. The sound quality was very impressive and has an array of setting to improve the sounds. I really like how you can customize EQ to the way you normally use the earbuds. I do wish there was a way to save individual EQ settings depending on what the usage will be for the day. The noise cancelling was very impressive and customizable which was awesome! During drives I can max out the noise cancelation then when in a noisy room set it down to medium or less depending. The app also shows battery levels for the earbuds and charging case. Overall I am very impressed at how easy it was to use the app and how much customization it allows. I definitely recommend trying these !
We appreciate your thorough review of our earbuds, and we're thrilled to hear about your positive experience! These Technics earbuds are great. The sound quality is amazing - very clear and no distortion or "tinny" sound. The installation and pairing processes were flawless and very quick. The app is great - I use it mostly to see the charged percentage on both the earbuds and the base unit as well as to change from noise cancelling (which works extremely well) to ambient sound. You can also adjust the base, treble and other enhancements quickly using the app, but I found the factory settings work quite well. The base can be charged using a standard USB Type C plug which is very convenient. The noise cancellation works so well it's easy to get engrossed in what I am watching, or listening to, and totally forget about my surroundings. The earbuds are incredibly comfortable, even after 2-3 hours. They also stay in place when bending over or moving my head. The navigation controls are easy to use, particularly pause (one touch). I usually adjust volume on the device, rather than on the buds. The best thing about these Technics is definitely the sound quality.
Thank you for sharing your positive experience with the Technics earbuds! It's great to hear that you're enjoying their sound quality, ease of use, and various features. The convenience of USB Type-C charging is indeed a plus, and we are happy to hear that the noise cancellation works effectively, allowing you to fully immerse yourself in your audio without being disturbed by your surroundings. -M

This is a LOT of headphone for 200 dollars. These are a really, really good deal.
The first time I bought a "premium" TWS earphone was around 2018 when I tried the first generation Sony WF-1000X. At that time it was too much of a compromise, the technology wasn't there to be able to fit noise cancelling and respectable sound all in a usable TWS package. If you are like me you may have had something like this experience and concluded it might never be possible. Before I bought these, the only thing I used TWS earphones for was exercising, and I had a neckband set for other purposes.
Let's first get out of the way that these genuinely do it all. If you do not have other problems with the TWS format, these CAN replace your neckband headphones or over-ears/on-ears that you use for sit-down purposes like travel or studying. That by itself is impressive to me, the fact that it is possible for "only" two hundred bucks is almost gravy.
A standout feature that I wasn't expecting to be so impressed by is Technics's app. One killer tool is the automated fitment in which it plays some test tones to tell you the ear tips that you want — I always second-guess myself with this when I get new earphones and to have it automated is wonderful. Beyond that, the amount of granularity in the settings is just really amazing, you are able to put hands on every aspect of the configuration you could want to. These are MUCH better in that respect than other brands I have tried (Sony and Yamaha).
One common sense quality-of-life feature that all TWS earphones should have, but only Panasonic/Technics seem able to manage, is that if you are using only one earphone the sound stream will be automatically mixed down to mono so you still hear both channels. I think this is possible because Panasonic use a point-to-point model where the earphones each connect to the host device independently, rather than one of them being a connection "master" to the other one.
LDAC isn't an amazing codec and aptX Adaptive would be better. In a noisy radio environment, these will kick down to the worst-case 330kbps transmission, and that does create a noticeable impact to sound quality that is worse than aptX Adaptive's worst-case. That being said, since the two largest manufacturers of Android smartphones (Samsung and Google) won't support aptX Adaptive, these probably have the best codec that your phone is actually able to do. I own a Google Pixel so I fall into this category.
I was expecting to be weirded out by the "twist it into your ear to fit" earpiece design, but I got the hang of it immediately. It's very comfortable, and the most secure fit that I've experienced without the use of wing-tips (you can chew with the earphones in and they don't get loose, for instance).

I owned or tested several premium Bluetooth headphones including Sony XM5, Airpods Pro 2, Sennheiser Momentum 4, Bose QC Ultra, Devialet Gemini and 2, B&O Beo Play EX, Denon Perl Pro, B&W Pi7 S2, and Technics AZ80. I am not an audiophile, but have a trained ear. I use EQ. I use iphone, so no hi-res codecs.
My ranking based on comfort and features
1. Sony XM5
2. Bose QC Ultra
3. Airpods Pro 2
4. Technics AZ80
5. B&O Beo Play EX
6. Devialet Gemini 2
7. Sennheiser Momentum 4
8. Devialet Gemini
9. Denon Perl Pro
10. B&W Pi7 S2
My ranking based on sound quality - Bass and sub base (again on iphone, so no aptx or hi-res codecs).
1. Devialet Gemini 2
2. B&W Pi7 S2
3. Denon Perl Pro
4. Devialet Gemini
5. B&O Beo Play EX
6. Sennheiser Momentum 4
7. Technics AZ80
8. Airpods Pro 2
9. Sony XM5
10. Bose QC Ultra
My ranking based on sound quality - clarity, separation, and Soundstage
1. Devialet Gemini 2
2. B&O Beo Play EX
3. Technics AZ80
4. B&W Pi7 S2
5. Denon Perl Pro
6. Devialet Gemini
7. Sennheiser Momentum 4
8. Airpods Pro 2
9. Sony XM5
10. Bose QC Ultra
If budget is not a constraint, Devialet Gemini 2 is the best of the best. If you are looking for best sound quality in 150-300's go for
1. Denon Perl Pro if Bass and immersive sound is a priority
2. B&O Beo Play EX if cleanest sound is a priority
3. Technics AZ80 if clean sound and good comfort is a priority
4. B&W Pi7 S2 if Bass and separation is a priority
5. Airpods Pro if ease of use is a priority for iphone users
6. Sony XM5 if Noise cancellation is a priority. XM5 produces good sound, just not as great as others.
7. Momentum 4 or 3 for decent sound in budget.

Panasonic hasn't always been a big player in the world of earbuds, but with the Technics premium earbuds, they're gaining momentum.
Out of the box you get the earbuds in their charging case, a USB charging cable, and a whole lot of different sized earbuds inner replacements.
Setup is very simple. If you decide to download the app, which I highly suggest, then the setup process will be explained to you step by step via the app. The app allows you to house multiple earbuds, if you in fact have multiple earbuds. The app shows you how much battery life both earbuds have, as well as the charging case.
One of the nice options is the find headphones options in the app. Once you activate it, there will be an audible chime letting you know where they are. The downside is that the chime is not loud... if you're in your quiet home, then you may have more success. If anywhere else, not functional.
You can change the sound as well as the noise cancelling. I will say that the noise cancelling is a really nice feature. I turned it on while my humidifier and my air purifier were going on in the background and I didn't hear either of them.
The earbuds themselves sound awesome. I listened to some music, watched a few movies clips, and everything sounded clear and crisp. The bass and treble were both great once I fine tuned it in the app.
When I used it to answer/make calls, the other people on the line said that I sounded nice and clear. There's also an option int he app that lets you hear what you sound like. I appreciate small details like that.
My only gripe is the touch gesture on the earbuds. It's somewhat convoluted. You need to tap three times in some situations, and it's not intuitive either. I wish it was two taps on the left earbud to rewind or previous track, or go back 30 seconds on a video. The same but in reverse for the right earbud, instead of the way it is. This is where the design engineers lost their way.
All in all, the earbuds look nice, have a great heft to them, nice build quality, and sound great!
Hi, Ethan! Your review of the Technics premium earbuds by Panasonic provides valuable insights into their features and performance. Your feedback regarding the touch gestures on the earbuds is insightful, as it highlights a potential area for improvement in terms of user-friendliness and intuitiveness. -M

Exceptional sound quality and comfort of use. Different sizes of buds provide a complete choice of perfect fit. Appealing aesthetics impart additional beauty. One issue i faced is that the left ear bud would start producing annoying sound and could hear wind noise even in noise cancellation mode. Overall, it's a good earbud but with not that grat of noise cancellation

At first I was wondering what all the hoopla was about. Earbuds are earbuds right?
Wrong.
The quality in which headphones and earbuds are made make a big difference.
First the charging box looks average and by any normal standards they are but again quality comes into play. The etching at the top makes it a little easy for gripping. My other had no difference in feel and would often slide right out of my hands.
Charging is simple, normal, nothing special.
The Qi charging is a cool feature but pretty normal.
The impressive features are when you put them in your ear on a full charge. The instance you hear the sound you hear quality. Nothing too high or low and when you pick you music or podcast the noise canceling immediately converts where you were listening from. If you are in a busy noisy area, your surroundings will completely mute and you will be immersed in what you’re listening to. They have multiple ear cushions, so any area size is adapted to. The sleek look design and quality of performance truly outshine’s, and it all fits in your pocket.
We're thrilled to hear that you've had a positive experience with your earbuds! Enjoy your music and podcasts! -M

I really like these earbuds. There are many sizes of tips to allow you to mix and match to get a good a fit. The app is nice in allowing you to customize the sound setting. The case is small and very pocketable. I've really enjoyed being able to connect them to 3 devices at once.
The not great: I picked them up on 8/10/23 and on 9/4/23 the left earbud volume became quieter than when I had put them back into he case. Unfortunately BestBuy only has a 15 day return policy so I can't return them.
If the left earbud hadn't broken, I would've rated them 5 stars.

These earbuds sound great. I love the fact the app can EQ the sound as well. The noise cancelling really works well and can be switched to passthrough outside sound. Both earbuds have a touch sensor that can be customized for each side allowing eight different actions. Single/Double/Triple/Hold. They work natively with Siri and Alexa. Although on setup this didn't work until I removed and re-added it. Another unique feature is that the app takes you through a process to choose the best size ear tips that ensure proper noise cancelling. One feature that was a little odd was the "Find headphones" feature. It only works if you're connected to them with an active bluetooth connection.
Another major plus for these, is the app comes with a LOT of helpful information. The manual, helpful hints, maintenance guide etc. These also come with a full printed manual however its almost a joke. It's the tiniest manual I've ever seen and you need a magnifying glass to read anything.
I've saved the last plus for last. These are the most comfortable headphones I've ever worn.
Usually my ear canals get sore after long usage but that hasn't happened yet!
