Customers highly value the engaging gameplay and portability of "The Binding of Isaac: Afterbirth+", frequently praising its replayability and extensive content. However, some players find the game's difficulty challenging and the controls require adjustment. While the unique art style and dark story are points of discussion, many appreciate the overall fun and engaging experience.

This is a fun dungeon crawler, though at times is fairly difficult. It offers a ton of replayability, and not a lot of skill at the start (so it's fairly easy to jump right in).

BOI has been well known for years for its quality addicting roguelike gameplay. It turns out it's the perfect match for the Switch. The pixel graphics look great on the Switch's screen and it controls well with the joycons. There's no noticeable framerate drops or graphical downgrades on the Switch version that I can tell. There's not much else to say. It's BOI that you can take with you. I prefer playing it on the Switch to the PS4. I'd argue it's the best way to play one of the best games in recent years.

I love Isaac. Probably more than is healthy for me, considering the grim and gross subject matter of the game. But I can't help it. The gameplay loop is fiendishly addictive. You plumb the depths of Isaac's basement (and beyond), you find new powerups and unlock others for future attempts, and you win...or you die. Either way, you start over from the beginning, only with a few more toys to play with. If you have a limit for the amount of pixelated feces you're willing to look at, then you should probably stay away. Everyone else should give it a try.

One of the most addicting games you'll play on any platform. With the Switch version, you get the most content and get to play it anywhere you want.

This game is even more worth it getting on the switch cause it's handheld and portable. Works extremely well with this gameplay format.

You can play this for hours and hours, the content is endless. The physical version is amazing, it comes with a NES-esque game manual.

I was a bit hesitant about buying this game at first because I didn't like the cover art. But I gave it a chance and so far I've enjoyed it. It's a very hard game, but it's enjoyable because there are a lot of cool power ups that help make your character stronger. It's a great feeling to be able to annihilate all the monsters in your path with little effort.
Also I was able to get the launch version of the game with stickers and a manual at my local Best Buy. If you want a first print copy with those extras you might wanna check your local Best Buy first.

Binding of Isaac for PC and other consoles has always been great, and this is no exception. Being able to take the game on the go is an absolute joy and the more powerful switch allowing for clearer gameplay than even the Vita is just an additional plus. The joycon controllers are a little annoying as they don't feel as responsive for the game as I would like, but that doesn't detract from the game at all. Plus, the experience is just better with a pro controller. Would highly recommend.

I bought this after seeing how other gamers really like this game. I bought and started to play. At first I was like, I'm not so sure about it. I kept playing since I spent my hard earned money on it. Well, a few dozen deaths later I realized a couple hours went by. The next time I played a couple more hours went by. Needless to say, it took a bit but the game will suck you in.
You unlock new items each time you play. Don't feel bad if you die over and over again. You will do a little better each time. And maybe one of these days I will actually win.

I bought this on a slight whim. I have been playing video games for my entire life from original NES to the Switch now and most consoles inbetween. Isaac is something super special. It taps into old school games like none I have experienced. I feel like a kid again playing it. It is HARD like the early games and yet so fresh every run. It is the only game that has gotten me away from Zelda. I cannot recommend this game enough and thank you to the creators!!!!

Binding of Isaac in Portable and Big Screen format

I love the Binding of Isaac. I've put hundreds of hours into the first two on steam, even going so far as completing 100% of the achievements on the first. So while $40 might seem a bit pricey for an indie game available on steam, after factoring in how long you'll play, it's still worth it. It's perfect with the Switch undocked and looks cool on the big screen. Now, if they could add multiplayer support, it'd be amazing, but it's pretty excellent as is.
