At the time of their original releases, I somehow missed Arena and Daggerfall. I am a big fan of Morrowwind, Oblivion, and Skyrim. Roll playing genres are essentially the only computer games I play. So much for background! All of the games (so far) are included, but Arena and Daggerfall were the reason I bought this package. They run on DOSBOX ( outside of the WINDOW's GUI) which is loaded automatically when you install and play the game. I had hoped that those two games would add to the prehistory of the following three. I was not at all disappointed. Both games are "outdated" compared even to Morrowwind, but for a fan of the series, that adds to the enjoyment of the historical background. Like the later games, the worlds of Arena and Daggerfall are wide open without structured gameplay. You can follow the main story line or not as you choose. There are plenty of side quests and stories to keep you busy for a long long time if you want to do so. As you wander those worlds you will come face to face with cities and characters mentioned as history in the later games. They both can be difficult to finish the main story line if you do not take the time (a lot of time) to explore, level up, and learn the subtleties of each game. If you want to 'get right to it, and win the game', you are better off not loading Arena or Daggerfall, but if you feel a pang of disappointment whenever a game is successfully completed, by all means dive in. Daggerfall in particular has the potential to provide MONTHS of gaming with a very tolerable level of similarity between the various regions and quests.

The Elder Scrolls series is one the best games, in my opinion, Bethesda ever launched (my next favorite being the Fallout Series). I have already clocked over 500 hours just so I can have the perfect experience.
This Anthology contains, in addition to the games, maps of Tamriel, Iliac Bay and Morrowind and is a great collectors item. I got this set when it was on sale and Best Buy will also price match any other competitor's price.
Also for me, Best Buy is the ideal merchant to buy from since I earn and redeem points for my purchases.
Pros: Complete series with physical maps. Breathtaking visuals and open world gameplay. A story that interects on a personal level. A great modding community for Skyrim that lets you test your boundaries in game.
Cons: The story aspect does not produce definite winners or losers, i.e, it us not perfect. There is no complete closure. You have to choose and all the choices are mostly made out of necessity rather than obtaining an ideal end. Heavy modding can create crashes. Sometimes, like Fallout 3, a little tweaking with the .ini files are needed to get a smoother game. Depends on what your gaming rig can handle.
Nevertheless, the Elder Scrolls is an experience worth progressing through.

Five amazing games in one box, with all DLC included. Even the first two games, published in the mid 90s, are great if you don't mind the graphics of that era.
NOTE: The latest 3 games in this box (Morrowind, Oblivion, Skyrim), require a Steam account, which is free if you don't have one.

Even though Elder Scrolls I and II are a little bit blocky (graphics from the past), for me, things get started beautifully with Morrowind. Elder Scrolls IV and V continue with great gameplay and graphics, especially Oblivion (the game I've spent the most time in). A great collection of great games, complete with specific maps for each of the games. An anthology put together nicely.

In my opinion this is a great game and it is really nice to have the entire series in one collection. I have played Oblivion, Marrowind and Skyrim before I bought the collection, now I have the earlier games as well as maps for all of the games.

The games: The bundle contains five games - Skyrim Legendary Edition, Oblivion GOTY Edition, Morrowind GOTY Edition, Daggerfall, and Arena.
The last two games are available as freeware elsewhere on the internet and are very, very old regardless, so new buyers may not end up actually playing them, but getting a new physical disc is nice for collectors.
Morrowind, despite being 10+ years old, is still a classic RPG and is superior to Skyrim in many ways, even if it may not be for everyone. Oblivion is generally regarded as weaker, but is still worth playing. Skyrim is, of course, the centerpiece of this collection.
Buying the three games separately digitally when they're on sale would run you about $10-14 for Skyrim and $4-5 each for Oblivion and Morrowind, so if the Anthology is on sale, you'll be getting the games for a great price with some nice physical stuff.
Physical package: The faux leather they used for both the box and the pull-out "book" the contents are housed in feels quite nice. Discs are included for all games (although Skyrim's discs cannot be used to play - the game requires Steam activation with the included code, while Morrowind and Oblivion can be installed and played from the discs). The same paper maps that are included in the original physical releases are bundled in the Anthology - while they're not premium in quality, they're still nice.
All in all, this is a great purchase if you're an aficionado of the series, or you don't already own the three games in the bundle available on Steam. Just bear in mind that you may find yourself playing each of the games for hundreds of hours, especially after modding comes into play, so if you're buying it for the latter purpose, you might find yourself too busy to play more than one of the games, in which case you may want to buy just one when it's on sale on Steam.

Few Games are as completely immersing as the Elder Scrolls games. I've only totally mastered Oblivion and Skyrim, but each took well over 100 solid hours to fully explore the content. Each of these games have great stories to be told in a world where people have stories that may not even be part of your game-- meaning the writers did a fine job of creating a world that seems real instead of only existing to be played. In each of the games own times the graphics were awesome, culminating in one of the most beautiful games ever in Skyrim.
This collection includes a disk version of all the games (though Skyrim is steam only), and also includes the main dlc for all the games on disk. Both Morrowwind and Oblivion games have a steam key included as well for a steam activated game, with the Oblivion steam game including all DLC including the infamous horse armor.

A new episode The Elder Scrolls series is always marked by a significant improvement over the previous one. Skyrim is no exception, but to get the entire series with all expansions for under $30 is phenomenal. Especially when Skyrim by itself was $20 and the three expansions were $25 on top of that.

I honestly don't really PC game but I so love The Elder Scrolls that I wanted to start from the beginning and it is all here...
Now I'm "living" the stories I have read in Morrowind, Oblivion & Skyrim.
This is a great way to either experience the beginnings or just reawaken your love of the series.

I bought this anthology for my dad who saw me playing Skyrim a few years back. Includes all the older Elder Scrolls if he gets around to it. I like that it's rolled into Steam so we can compare achievements. He got me back into it with him. Definitely a cool item for not a bad price.

This is probably a good deal if you don't already have Skyrim or Oblivion, newer entrances in the series. It comes with the maps, which are pretty cool, but also on the internet (just not in physical form, of course). Arena and Daggerfall are also included on CD for easy installation; they are normally free downloads from Bethesda's website, but require extra set-up for that. They're nice extras if you buy this mainly for Morrowind, Oblivion and Skyrim

I was hooked up with TES when I played REDGUARD (no, It isn't in the anthology). As time when on, the series kept improving, with highs and lows, until Morrowind which really nailed it--although the graphics may not be as those in Oblivion and Skyrim. Such a vast world to explore freely with plenty of side quests without going into the included additions! On top of that, there's a huge community of players/programmers that keep attempting to improve the games by incorporating new features into them. For example, you can greatly improve the Morrowind graphics by downloading certain programs. For its regular price, you cannot go wrong with this anthology (I got it for less than $20!!! so its is worth 5 stars)

Having all the games in one place for one price is very nice. Especially if you are new to Elder Scrolls. All of the games install easily and comes in nice package with good maps included. The only down side is that only 3 newest games are currently playable over Steam. I had the older games years ago and were either lost or on old pcs that installed with floppy disks. I had missed the newer ones, so bundled together was a good deal for me.

One of the best game series ever. It's been a blast playing the older versions. Does take a little getting used to the controls after playing previously only on a console.
