Customers are satisfied with the gameplay, citing it as fabulous and fun with excellent graphics. Many also appreciate the vast amount of content and the expansive open world, although some experienced occasional lag depending on internet connection. While the story is considered good, a persistent concern is the requirement of an internet connection to play.

While not quite the same feel as Skyrim, still very fun and worth it. Great deal, very affordable through Gamer's Club.

This game really lives up to the Elder Scrolls, Bethesda name. Just like the title states, this game is splendid. I personally love everything about the game, character creation is stunning, combat is amazing, not to mention I love the story line. This game is definitely worth owning and if the PS4 is just as good, you should order it now.

Good game. I'm having a lot of fun with it. I also like that there aren't monthly subscription fees to play it. If I had 1 complaint about the game it's that occasionally it can be laggy when there are too many people online. I also think it's a little sad that you have to have PS Plus to play it...that being said Best Buy has a "Get $5 off of PS Plus for a year when you buy a PS4" and also I had some money from my SEN rewards that helped towards the purchase...didn't make it any less sad that I now have a service I won't use all that often. Nonetheless, good game. I recommend it :)

Building a MMORPG is no easy undertaking, but doing it on an ever-changing platform such as game consoles, then having to work within the parameters of multiple consoles and PC can be equally daunting. I have played all of the Elder Scrolls series but, like most, really got serious with the series with Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim. This IS NOT Skyrim, but offers similar mechanics in a vast world. Overall, the gameplay is fabulous. I have only played for a couple of weeks, having received the PS4 and this game for Father's Day. I have spent several hours each day on this game, however. The game play is very "sticky" and will keep you entertained for hours. The downside is that there is NO single, or local, play ability. You cannot play an offline character, you cannot play across a LAN. While this will not be very important to most, it can be a problem if you do not have a PS+ membership or when PSN is down, which has happened several times in the last week alone. Zenimax, from what I can see, does a pretty good job trying to keep up with things, but there are some bugs, most notably one that crashes the game when in-game chat exceeds memory limitations. Until this is fixed, it effectively makes the in-game chat useless unless you don't mind being booted and having to restart the game. Industrious players are using the Playstation Party Chat as a work-around, but you limit your ability to do local chats with other players unless you add them as friends. Once some of the bugs are worked out, I would jump up to a 5-star all the way, but bugs drop it to a 4-star in my book, which is still excellent for all intents and purposes :)

Personally I've never been into the series but I gave this game a shot because my wife loves the series, graphics are good, story good, had online issues in the beginning at first release but not anymore and it's actually grown on me, now I know it's not the most amazing game out there but it's great for what it is and I'm really loving it so I actually bought a second copy to play online with my wife instead of taking turns its brought this gaming family even closer

Reserve judgement aside from Skyrim and you will enjoy ESO. Great for fans of MMO style games and those who generally enjoy the Elder Scrolls storyline. It could be a while before the follow up to Skyrim..so enjoy this for what it is!

If I had to label this game I would say it is a hybrid somewhere between full on MMPOG and a single player experience. If you love traditional single player Elder Scrolls games like Skyrim then this is not what you are looking for. This is closer to a grinding MMO instead. However, if you love the Elder Scrolls/Bethesda worlds and stories along with their RPG player development system then you will probably like this. The graphics are very good and the user interface is very easy to get used to. I enjoyed playing it but I just don't have the time to put into it to really get the most out of it. I would say if you like the Elder Scrolls series and have friends who will play this game with you online and you have a lot of time to spend on it then go for it. if you are more of a casual player then stick with the single player games like Skyrim. One other consideration, this eats around 65GB on your PS4 hard drive with all the patches installed. You also need to be online to play it.

The Eldor Scrolls Online Tamriel Unlimited is well worth its 60$ price tag. There's lots of variety in character creation and loads of content increasing as you level up and explore the vast world. The dialogue and emotions the characters in the game are some of the games weak points but doesn't really impact the experience. Overall there is lots to do and explore within the game and this is a must purchase for fans of MMORPG's

So to make a long story short, it's mmo Skyrim. There are four classes, bunch of races, few factions (that you must pick one to join in the beginning), and lots of people. Things are pretty much exactly like skyrim with the exception of the quest markers seem to be wonky at times. Probably played four hours or so, but for the price I got it at and all that seems to be going on in the world, I'd say it's a good value.

When Elder Scrolls Online launched, it was met with some mixed reviews- some enjoyed it, others didn't, and some fans of the series of single-player games wanted to like it, but just couldn't. Others, like myself, held off for quite some time as the developers worked with feedback from the rabid fan base to make ESO become the game people wanted. And, I'm happy to report, with the changes they made, it's quite good! With the exception of ESO, all my previous Elder Scrolls experience has come from the PC- and, while I own every game in the series, (thanks to ESAnthology, which includes the original first 2 DOS-based games, plus all the add-on content for the games... Shameless plug for Best Buy sales; if you're a fan of the series and have not purchased this AMAZING box set, complete with every game, every official DLC, maps, and a gorgeous case, you're doing yourself a disservice by not checking to see if Best Buy has it in-stock, one of my MANY great purchases from my local BB... Just look it up AFTER this review, and a "helpful" vote! LOL!) Back to ESO. While I'm a fan of the series, and of open-world games, as well as MMORPGs, I'll give you this caveat. I'm not part of the fan base that can tell you the entire myth of Elder Scrolls, and while I buy just about every open-world game that hits the market, I rarely finish them (ES series included,) at some point, it's just TOO much to do, and I need something fresh to play. That said, I LOVE & have gotten to much of end-content (at least story-wise) from MMORPGs, mostly because I play those that friends join in on. WoW, Guild Wars, Guild Wars 2, etc., have always become addictions for some time now, BUT due to some health issues, gaming on the PC hasn't been happening. So, while I've been recovering over the past two years, I've been looking for my MMORPG fix on PS4. I began with the excellent The Division... But, it's updates began causing issues, so I picked up ESO on sale, and between my discount through the Gamer's Club and Reward Zone certificates, I paid a whopping $6. The original sale price of $20 would have been a bargain, but $6 was a steal! Now, the game has been out for some time, so the downside is that a majority of players in the game are veterans, and have seen most of the game, so you'll be among the few "ground floor" players. But, the flipside to this is you aren't dealing with many of the updates they used to get the game where it is today. One of my fears heading into ESO was how a game that's always been best played on a PC would translate to a PS4 controller. They managed to do it wonderfully, and it will make me consider playing any future games on the console. While the mythology of ESO will be more familiar to those more "into" the games, it takes place long before the popular Oblivian, but I'd be hard-pressed to tell you that the world looks much different. The races and classes are all familiar, although the classes are limited (but malleable to fit your style, regardless of how you start). One of my favorite areas of the Elder Scrolls series has been how the classes can ultimately change based on how you play. Skills, spells, weapons all level based on your use of them. That favorite system remains in place in ESO. In summary, if you've enjoyed the rest of the series, there's no reason to avoid ESO any longer. No monthly subscription, (although one is available that offers exclusive currency that can be used to purchase DLC and cosmetic items such as mounts... However, you can also buy these "crowns" in one-time buys should just one or two items catch your interest,) solid, familiar systems and gameplay, and an excellently ported control scheme that takes full advantage of the PS4 controller without it seeming like a second thought. Go visit Tamriel, you'll love it!

Ive played a lot of PS4 games. This one is a good one. It is a huge game. Lots of time playing it so far. It has some repetitiveness to it but it is still fun. Check around for match pricing. Got it for $19.95 from a frys ad at best buy match price. My wife and I both play at the same time at she likes it too. Get this game if you like RPG games. lots of fun.

First off, I don't like MMORPG games, especially those that have monthly fees. And I generally prefer D&D style RPGs, so was looking forward to the next in the line of Elder Scrolls, since Skyrim was such a big hit. I became disinterested in ESO when found out that it was originally planned as a monthly pay MMO. Now that they have changed it to a single purchase for the base game, and I got it on sale, I said why not. While you can still buy in game upgrades, I don't go that route. The game is still great, and very playable. The graphics (on PS4) are very good, although a step down from Skyrim. The quest contents are very extensive, and you could probably play for a year and still not complete everything. You have 3 completely different story lines depending on the your alliance. One note is that there really isn't any pause in this game as it is a MMO. There are areas where you are safe, but once you are out and about, going to a menu does not prevent you from being attacked or dying... There are a number of other differences in the game play that I had to get use too. While it is good to be able to play as a single player, note that this is a MMO and you will see everyone else playing at the same time. This can be very distractive, comical, and sometimes helpful. Also, by default, you are added to the group voice channel every time you start, so if you forget to turn it off, you can be startled when all of a sudden you have this loud voice from no where (and language can be a problem from time to time). I have also grouped a couple of times with my daughter's boyfriend (male bonding moments), and that has worked out very well. And having a separate voice channel for that was surpurb. After 50-60 hrs of gaming, I can say that so far I am very happy overall.

I purchased this game because I've always played elder scrolls game on my PC, I wanted to try the online version for quite a while now and finally had a chance to do so. It's a lot of fun huge open world, a lot to do and a lot of side quests, random things you find along your journey. the combat is pretty easy to pick up. The only thing that I don't care for is the social aspect you see all these other players running around you know doing things alongside you but unless you have a microphone and even then no one ever talks or listens or maybe I'm just not doing it right. But there's no way to actually communicate other than a microphone. that's the only complaint that I have here that they're getting ready to improve the social aspect for the PlayStation four version with the keyboard or text based but I have yet to see it hopefully it comes into effect soon.

This game is really fun if you're into any of the past Elder Scroll Games. If you're like me and not a fan of MMO's you will still have a good time but just be sure to take it slow as it can definitely feel overwhelming. Overall though, the combat is fun and the game offers a deep open world just ready to be explored.

gameplay: this game can get pretty dull and lonely if you don't have anyone to play with. With friends, however, it is excellent. I have barely stopped playing it since I bought it over a month ago! The versatility of everything makes it a great game for mmo newbies and mmo experts. story: pretty bland but there are some epic moments. as well as some epic voice actors! there are no subtitles for anything spoken so keep that in mind if you depend on/prefer those! crafting: straightforward and fairly easy

I have really enjoyed this game so far, but I was always a fan of the elder scrolls games. If you like those, then you will probably like this one. They have changed up some of the gameplay a little, mostly in the way you gain skills and level up, but I like the change. One thing to note is this is an online only game, so if you don't have a steady internet connection then that may be a drawback to you. I enjoy being able to play the game on my own, but friends can join in to help if they want.
