Great game, loads of content. many quests have moral dilemmas with real consequences. Most consequences are short term but a few are really impactful. this game not only has 3 different main story plots but after beating it you can then go thru and experience the other 2. If you did every quest in the game it will definitely take 1-6 months depending on your play time. It has true character customization want to wear heavy armor as a sorcerer and heal? You can do it. Want to be a rogue healer? Yup it's possible. Templar tank or healer or dps? Yes,yes, yes. some work better than others but with the variety of skills it has flexibility that most others don't. Also stealing in game is very rewarding and challenging, steal often. It has some drawbacks and sometimes you get dropped to home screen but this game is amazing. If your looking for an RPGs with guilds, a wide variety of skill customizations and a huge pvp world pick this game up.

There have been a lot of complaints surrounding ESO, but I am convinced that those complaining have not had the experience of the full game. The game is rich in landscape detail as is expected of the Elder Scrolls franchize. It offers a complex and fully customizable crafting system, quests for crafting, leveling, dnugeons, public dungeons, rifts, and in PVP for those who like PVP and PVE. What other game offers PVE in a PVP arena? Players can get all the benefits of the experience boosts and buffs and try to avoid other players if they want to, or head on in to the thick of PVP. All the same type of quests available outside of Cyrodil are available in Cyrodil, along with PK bounties and quests. As with all games, there are some server issues from time to time and they are still having issues with the player mail system. However, all in all I think that this is a particularly massive MMO with a lot to offer. Most MMOs do not offer so much content at the initial launch and players are sepnt loitering waiting for the next expansion. With the exeption of those who never sleep, this game and the planned expansion adequately keeps pace with most players. I play daily and am only VR5. I will probably be nearing VR14 which is the cap by the next expansion, and they will be raising the cap. The best part of this game is that there are very few items that exist that can overinflate the market. There are some things that are rare drops, but most adequate gear can be obtained through learning to craft. Those who dont want to craft meet nice crafters or learn to trade with those that do. Works out pretty well. I am excited to see what this game has to bring in the future and I definately recommend it for all different styles of players: Casual, PK, crafters, and lore seekers. Great Job at maintaining a good balance.

This game offers a ton of content with various land areas, side missions, and character development. The graphics and music are top notch, much like previous Elder Scroll games. Like other MMOs, you can put in as little or as much effort into the side tasks as you want, which helps avoid a sense of grinding. Despite having so much content, you will eventually feel a sense of repetiveness with the missions. The only drawback I've encountered so far is that as an MMO, there's the expectation that you'll be playing with other people, so some dungeons are only accessible if you're playing in a group. And naturally, this is where the best loot is found. If you don't have friends playing this game, there is the option of a "group finder" tool, but if you're looking to play solo this aspect might be disappointing.

I got the game when it first came out. Of course with any MMORPG the launch is going to experience huge lag. However, it should not have lasted that long. The European servers were not as full as the American one so I just switched over there permanently. The game itself is great, but I'm not sure if it will survive off the F2P micromarket system that it has in place now. Nontheless, I still support the game and I am a ESO + member. Right now I don't think ESO + is worth it, but when they release DLC then it will be as you don't have to pay for the DLC since it is included in the ESO + membership. You could probably have more than 200+ hours of gameplay and still not be finished, there is so much to do. Try to get a group running together doing quests and dungeons otherwise it can get boring by yourself after awhile.

Kind of got roped into playing this because I recommended a possible free to play fun MMO to my friend so he bought it on impulse. He could not stop playing Elder scrolls online and explained how fun it was. I followed and I bought it while it was on sale + have my gamers club and got a killer deal on the game so I don't feel so bad about it if I don't like it. Well I ended up liking it, a lot! It's very fun and I can see myself getting lost in many hours of adventuring like my days in Oblivion and Skyrim. Downfalls I have with this game is, It's Online only. Getting kicked for random reasons does get old. One day, this game's servers will shutdown and render it dead. I hate games like that so replay value = dead. It's a live in the moment kind of game. Play it now while it's big and it'll die for another MMO to be born type game. So personal recommendation. Buy this game on Sale and make sure you have Xbox Live. It's a lot of fun but don't pay full price for it. I've seen it hit sales twice. I snagged it for around $32 range after a sale + Gamers club. I feel it's worth that much thanks to it's online only nature.

The gameplay is good and the story is engaging but its not to the quality of the other games. Seems that it will continue to get content but the overall balance and cost limit its greatness.

Despite some launch day issues (think COD: Advanced Warfare and Halo: The MCC) this game is finally really fun to play. I played the Beta on Mac a while back and it was fun but it is so much more enjoyable now that it's been revamped for consoles. If you've logged tons of hours on Skyrim and Oblivion like I have, it can be hard to get used to the controls. Specifically, how you equip weapons/spells. Instead of having like a quick-select menu similar to Skyrim, you can only equip/unequip if you're in a safe area because you have to go several layers into the menu to do what you want. Once you get past that, this game is a lot of fun to play solo or with a friend.

it's great in its own right. I was expecting, and kinda hoping for a game similar to Skyrim and in some ways it is. It's still open world, it's still a great RPG, it's still beautiful, it's still got all the races, and it's still amazingly fun and addicting. Some mechanics have changed how ever and not all for the better. Now your character isn't under a max weight limit, but a max item limit that starts out at an incredibly low sixty, but now there's an item bank!... Which also has a limit of sixty... Plus magic has completely changed and so has the combat system but that you have to realize is because it is now a HUGE MMORPG which I can understand and you eventually get past. All in all, it's new, it's different, but it's still got that amazing Bethesda feel to it!

This game is a great addition to the Elder Scrolls series. I loved Oblivion and Skyrim so this was a no brainer on day one. The graphics are beautiful and the gameplay is fun. Online only play is my only complaint because sometimes servers can be down (but that has not happened too much since launch). Other players can help kill enemies (which is nice) or take the quest items (which is annoying as this sometimes requires you to wait for the item to respawn so you can collect it).

Game is amazing... It is a prequel but picks up where skyrim left off in that now you can play with friends. Limiting factor is than sometimes the server will bump me off. Also $50/ year for online subscription may anger some. Detail of graphics is on par with skyrim and so far no major cheets that I have found yet... Makes this a more "honest" game. Ability to play with friends pushes this game over the top - I suspect server issue will get better then would be 5 stars PLUS

ESO plays a lot like Skyrim, but has a larger world and supports multiplayer and co-op play. There is a ton of quests and areas to explore while leveling up your crated character. The game is a lot of fun but the controls do feel a bit floaty at first which may be due to the map being bigger so you move at a slightly faster pace. Check it out if you are a fan of Elder Scrolls titles and wanna jump in with some other players.

An Elder Scrolls game that you can play with friends? What could be better than that? The long awaited ESO lives up to the expectations! It seamlessly blends the open world structure and enthralling storylines of the Elder Scrolls franchise with the character progression and coop missions of a classic MMO. The xbox one graphics and fully voiced character interactions take the immersion to all new levels. The only criticism of this game is that every part is open world so its possible to visit areas with hundreds of players also on the same mission but it is easy to overlook when the rest of the game is so well designed.

If you are buying this game with the notion that it is like its predecessor, Skyrim, then you will surely be disappointed. The game itself is pretty good, as an MMO, it had problems in the beginning with servers, but these issues have since been corrected. If you like MMORPG's and also like the Elder Scrolls universe and lore I would def. recommend!

Although it definitely can use some updates, The Elder Scrolls Online is a solid game that is a lot of fun to play with friends. Maybe not so much if you're on there by yourself all the time, but there is a lot to do in-game. There is no subscription fee, but you still don't have to worry about "pay to win" type of gaming. I would recommend it.

To make things clear, it is a MMO and its still the elder scrolls, but it isn't Skyrim. For those of you coming to play this game with a Skyrim feel, you will be greatly disappointed. MMO's usually tend to cut back on graphics and gameplay simply because they require a lot more since its massive multiplayer. So they try and focus on just that, multiplayer. There are no shouts, your exploration is limited based on your alliance choice, and the mechanics are a different compared to Skyrim. If you aren't so sure about buying an MMO because you never played one try Warframe or Neverwinter (MMO). Those are good games that can give you a feel of what ESOTU is about. Besides all that, ESO doesn't require a game subscription so thats always good, and all in all its just a very fun game. Its set in Tamriel, before oblivion and Skyrim but you still have all the familiar faces, races and functionality from the other elder scroll games. Being able to play with other people also increases the appeal for this game in my opinion. This game is A-OK.

I loved playing Skyrim so this was something I looked forward to picking up. The game has a large amount of content and character customization is decent. The game is fun when playing with a group of friends but if your the type to solo then you wont have too much trouble or any lack of fun.

I absolutely love this game. It is wonderful to get a full MMORPG experience from the comfort of your couch. The graphics are phenomenal and the control are easy to pick up. The benefit of playing online is the abundance of voice communication. Grouping up to defeat bosses, finish quests, and make friends is an absolute breeze. With no monthly fee, its a no brainer if you are a parent looking to get your kid a game they can get lost in for hours. If this is your first time with an MMORPG, I highly advise picking up a strategy guide if you are not comfortable using Google to find the information you need. As an experienced gamer, nothing seemed overly complicated; however, my girlfriend experienced difficulties with the learning curve. Overall, I highly advise buying this. The only downfall is that the servers have some issues at times. I think this won't be a problem for long though, as it is customary for new games of this massive scale to experience problems initially.

I was skeptical at first since it was an online game rather than one player as the other Skyrim games. You will LAG like any other online game but it has tons of quests. The only thing I don't like is you need friends to defeat some creatures. Not everyone has friends lol

People expecting Skyrim 2.0 might be decidedly upset with ESO due to the shared world, yapping idiots (that you have to turn off every time you log in), and bad graphics (good for an MMO, mediocre at best for a modern single player RPG). People expecting the next big MMO might be decidedly upset with ESO due to lack of text chat, awful grouping function, lack of damage/buffs shown on screen, etc. People with an open mind, and no Skyrim OR MMO expectations, are likely to walk in and discover a great game. Whether its standing outside a group dungeon for a few minutes until you get an invite to team up, or randomly coming across a world boss or dolmen and teaming up with random strangers to defeat it, ESO just clicks when you experience these events with complete strangers. Or if you are feeling single player content, you can turn off voice chat, and stroll around doing nothing but quests and crafting for days. But, neither of those things are what gets me the most, that is reserved for the rewarded exploration of ESO. Just walk around and get lost in the world and you will discover dungeons, world bosses, find skyshards, random treasure chest, etc. Summary: If you expect Skyrim 2.0 or the next big MMO you may well be disappointed with ESO. If you expect a game that has decent shared content, decent single player content, and rewarded exploration, ESO is likely for you.
