Must definitely play the first game to understand. This game has amazing gameplay and an awesome eye for details within the world. The story arcs within this game are complex and very well thought out and showcase to complex and hard to understand human concepts within its characters. Highly recommend playing this game with an open mind.

Naughty Dog raises the standards of the gaming industry once again with TLOU II. The visuals, the representation, the story and the gameplay is unparalleled. But one thing I think folks need to know is that the game will make you uncomfortable. You're going to HATE some of the decisions the characters make, but that's the point.

Don’t listen to those review bombing this game. The last of us part II is another dark drama that immerses you into a world of violence and vengeance. A must buy for true gamers. For those saying the game is bad, I say, shut up and go back to play Call of Duty.

I don't mean to dismiss everything the game does but man this game is just borderline okay. The combat is easily my favorite part. It's visceral, deadly, I love killing people in this game (:< Stealth feels better than it did before. The ability to go prone and dodge makes everything much better and the level design for arenas are done really well fully embracing the much faster movement. The gunplay while still standard, feels super good due to the enemy reaction. Melee combat too. Also it's a pretty game very graphics. Everything else that isn't combat is either, okay, questionable, or bad. Scavenging is not that fun. In the last of us 1, levels weren't very big. They were very linear but had just enough space to make it feel as if it were going at a steady pace. The dialogue between Joel and Ellie helped out tons too. But here where the levels are humongous and scavenging is still pressing triangle on everything with sometimes overlong animations and uninteresting conversation happening it becomes a slog and it gets worse and worse and worse. It doesn't help that outside of one area that was somewhat interesting, the devs didn't think of anything creative to make these areas interesting to explore. The games biggest problem is that outside of the combat they innovated absolutely nothing and even in the combat they added very little (though I am content with the combat, I still hear of others who still find it basic and uninteresting). The second biggest problem that plagues this game is the story. It felt very pointless, silly, and pretentious. I still don't get what they were going for with it. Characters don't make sense, some I just couldn't care about. The themes are non existent (I hear it's about revenge, hate, forgiveness but I feel only hate gets explored, not enough though) Not only is the writing just eh, the pacing is absolutely terrible. Flashback after flashback, a complete switchup of character that made me stop playing for two weeks, not because of the character, but I couldn't get to deep into it without spoiling. Let's just say it felt like I wasted time. The pacing is so volatile, it completely ignores basic guidelines of storytelling If what they wanted was to create divide then voila great amazing but I don't think that's the case. It's a messy overlong game with some bits of good stuf in there trying to be deeper than it actually is. I personally don't recommend this because those bits are too few and far in between

Well if youre invested into a games story and dont get upset at the games direction in story then this game is a beautiful sequel that just enhances mechanics from the first game and I just highly recommend you attempt it through and enjoy the environments and attention to detail.

The special edition was perfect for the $80 price. Love the art book and the soundtrack. The only misleading part was Best Buy's preorder bonus. It labeled the bonus as 'TLOU2 digital standard edition' when in fact it's just a couple of in game items. Outside of that, loved the special edition and the game was amazing.

I truthfully had not played the first one, but the hype definitely did not disappoint. This edition comes with the steelbook which I enjoy much more than the original plastic cases and the game itself is one of the best I've played in awhile. Uncharted meets zombies and everything in between. It's worth it!

Love the game. Still playing on hard. Bought this addition for the wife and the digital for me. We are playing it together on hard. We are through the hospital :) It has been awesome. Thank you to all of the hard working Naughty dog employees and also the voice actors that help create this game. Wonderful.

Got this edition to the game less then a month away for my boyfriend as an anniversary gift and he loves it and is enjoying it so much. So glad I decided last minute to get it for him. He loves it so much, he loves the story and the graphics as do I. It’s a must get even if it’s the standard edition.

Naughty Dog has made a name for themselves for crafting beautiful and engaging cinematic experiences with their games. They evoke emotion, convey a message and tell incredible stories. The bottom line is this... if you are a gamer of any kind and enjoyed the first game then there’s a ton to love about part 2. Ashley Johnson puts on an Oscar worthy performance as Ellie. Newcomer Shannon Woodward is absolutely wonderful as Dina who travels alongside Ellie for her journey. Both performances are so good you’ll often forget you’re playing a game. The new enemies are wonderful and challenging. The environments are more than twice of the original game and the level of detail is jaw dropping. The Last of Us 2 is a wonderful swan song send off to a generation in the same way the first game was to the PlayStation 3. You’ll laugh, cry and feel anger while you play this game. It’s a wild feels trip that will undoubtedly question all of your conceptions about how video games have the ability to evoke emotion.

If you played the The Last of Us, the game mechanics will be quite familiar. The graphics are amazing and help immerse you in the story, which continues a number of years from the end of the first game. I haven't completed the game yet, but I'm fully invested in this post apocalyptic world.

This game was delayed several times by Naughty Dog/ Sony for various reasons (mainly Covid19). Hopefully, this extra time gave the game the polish it so richly deserves. Each time it was delayed however Best Buy gave me prompt notice and let me know what was happening. I really did appreciate this! My game shipped on time and on day of release! I felt compelled to write this review because of so many people writing bad reviews! Best Buy has been more than accommodating over the years. If in fact the store was lining the shelves with the Last of Us 2 (while you wait for shipped preorder), they would have let you purchase the new copy in store and even cancel the preorder, either way - you still get this on day of release! Right now, taking the time to enjoy all the little extras that this version of TLOU2 has to offer before I start the game, the music is cool mellow but haunting, the graphics look outstanding on a 4K tv; I can't wait to start!

It's strange to see alot of the gripes people have with this one are also present within the first game, it's like they forgot what the first game was even about. The last of us part 2 is like a polished last of us with a story that is darker and more serious in many aspects. Now saying that, this story isn't really for the faint of heart and with the certain circumstances we all are currently facing this story may not reach you after all the weeks of solitude and so forth. I get that but in my case the bleak reality that the last of us 2 brought was exactly what I was expecting from the original announcement and if you're like me I know you won't be disappointed.

Strong points no one disagrees on: graphics and voice acting. It's the best we'll see all year. The story is also superb BUT keep in mind, you'll have to go into this with an open mind. When you consider different perspectives to the story, then it starts warming up to you.

The story in this game has seemingly caused a divide between the fan base. However, I’ve given it a full playthrough and I loved it. Gameplay and graphics are fantastic. The story, while not the best, is still intriguing from beginning to end. Definitely worth picking up!

This game was a lot of fun. TLOU2 has a great story, lots of feels throughout the game. Sure, some things seemed to be pushed on to you, but whatever. It's a game and story. It looks amazing. Easily one of the best games I've ever seen for the base PS4.

Amazing game that if you had told me it was a next gen game I would have believed you. The visuals push the PS4 to the limits and the story telling makes you think. Don't let the negative things you may have heard keep you from experiencing this great game.

Fantastic from beginning to end! The story was super intense especially towards the end. Gameplay was perfect, and the most fun stealth I’ve ever played. Graphics were AMAZING as well! Steel book and art book are super nice too! Perfect, must play if you can handle it!

Best game of 2020. Don't listen to those negative comments. They probably never played it. At first I hated the story but then I was deeply moved. It's one of the kind and I will remember the game for a long time. Grear music and gameplay too.

I can guarantee you anyone who rates this game a 0 or 1 either hasn't played it or is a troll. The gameplay is really good. The graphics are of course Naughty Dog amazing. The voice acting is spot on. Sure some will be disappointed with the story's direction. Here's the thing, whether the story made you happy, sad, angry, disappointed, or whatever, it's did its job. Technically this game is as amazing a Naughty Dog production as ever. After playing I seriously can't believe how childish so many people are acting. Actually, I can believe it, it's the same babies as usual. This game is great and don't believe otherwise.
