The best movies arent always action packed full of fighting scenes, but the ones you can relate to and fall in love with. Ive seen this movie over 10 times after purchase and i dont think ill ever get tired of it. Ben Stiller is one of my favorite actors and he has put his years of experience in this one simple yet beautiful film. Lovely story, great characters, incredible scenery and the score is just epic. This movie reminds us that life is too short to sit there wishing you could be, and that we all have the ability and drive for what we want to do.

Ben stiller does a great job acting in a story line that at times can be a little hard to follow but is nonetheless interesting. We all day dream and think about what of scenarios for your lives. This movie epitomizes that very human trait but also show us that the best life for us is often the life that's right before our lives- all we have to do is embrace it fully! It's also a goodbye mesage about finding the positives and to grateful for who we are and those around us. Peace

A new re-make of James Thurber's short story, The Secret Life of Walter Mitty. Mild mannered Walter, played by Ben Stiller, lives out his fantasies. Thurber's short story was a series of fantasies where Walter Mitty dreams of becoming a bomber pilot, a famous surgeon, ect. It was originally made into a movie starring Danny Kaye in 1947. While straying from the original short story and movie, Stiller's version is enjoyable and true to the theme of both Thurber's story and the Danny Kaye movie.

This is a great movie that was probably a little more than underrated when in the cinema. Don't expect the zany Ben Stiller from Zoolander or Meet the Parents. This movie is a subtle, imaginitive & whimsical movie that will make anyone want to live a little more. The blu ray is packed with extras, DVD combo & digital copy for added fun. Definitely check it out, especially on blu ray.

Excellent film starring and directed by Ben Stiller. Funny, heart-warming, with great use of music and beautiful cinematography. Cool hidden gems: quick pic of George Harrison immediately followed by graffiti on the wall that says "here comes the sun", nod to "The Matrix" when Ben Stiller has to choose between a red or blue rental car, and the (not so hidden) "outsiders" reference. This film has a "Forrest Gump" feel to it but not nearly as long and doesn't take itself quite so seriously. I highly recommend this one!

I first saw this film in theaters and I was blown away by many features of this film. First off, I love the cinematography. I'm somewhat of a film buff, so I really look at that sort of thing. The cast of this film is great and I really enjoyed that Ben Stiller directed and starred in this film. The soundtrack is mesmerizing and I can't stop raving about how great this film is. The fact that it's on bluray makes it 100 percent better because the visuals really pop on a 40 inch LED HD television.

While I'm an admitted Ben Stiller fan, his deadpan persona is great for the introverted main character who, spoiler alert, must learn to participate in life. Along the way we get to meet some wild characters, and see some fantastic sights. Kristen Wiig adds a great karaoke version of David Bowie's classic "Space Oddity" (Major Tom). I wasn't sure about this sleeper at the box office, but am glad I decided to give it a chance.

As an office worker who works an unexciting job, I related to Walter Mitty. That, and the movie being from Ben Stiller, made me want to see it and thankfully, I wasn't disappointed. Pretty fun movie that was timely in this electronic age of online dating and magazines going out of print. It also definitely showed that we need to get out more and see the world and experience life to the fullest. Great visuals of some great locations. See it!

Ben Stiller helms and stars in this adaptation of the short story. A movie (or two?) has been done before, but Stiller's stands apart. He adds a fresh freeing vision in telling this story. He uses a welcomed family approach with the characters and emphasizes the impact of the loss his character suffered as a child missing the father-son bond growing up. The viewer gets to travel with Walter in his secret and real life all the way to a satisfying conclusion that stays with you.

This is what amounts to Ben Stiller's best performance, next to There's Something About Mary and Night At The Museum. This one a little more serious and he also directs it which makes it more interesting. It has hints of direction and scope of Forrest Gump, and Kristen Wig is the perfect female lead. This is a movie you can watch more than once. The set comes with both the Blu and the DVD and Digital copy which make it worth the $20. The DVD extras are there with deleted scenes.

The Secret Life of Walter Mitty is film that had so much potential to be one of the best of the year but it falls short of its goals. If you can make it through the first 30-45 mins it really hits its stride but those first minute become painful to watch. His daydreams are irrelevant to the big story and ultimately are only there to make for uncomfortable moments and the more they occur the more annoyed I got.

A number of years ago I saw the movie-trailer for this but never got the chance to see it on the big screen. Then recently the wife and I rented it on DVD and truly enjoyed it. Soon after BestBuy was selling the Blu-Ray at a ridiculously low price so I picked it up to watch it again and again....now in HD. This is a quiet movie that really blossoms after you start to watch. The cinematography and landscapes are spectacular on Blu-Ray.

I really wanted to see this movie when it was released in theaters. I didn't make it out to see it. I probably saw Iron Man 42 or something. (I probably loved that, too) I finally did see this movie and it was the perfect movie to see at that time in my life. I don't know maybe movies find you when you need them....that, or you watch something else while you're waiting for Iron Man 43.

After reading many reviews from movie critics, my expectations had been tempered and I reconsidered purchasing this movie. Most had complained that it wasn't true to the original material. Luckily for me I didn't listen to them and purchased as a blind buy. Rating the movie on its own merits I feel it was highly underrated. It is a good combination of comedy & inspiration and a very entertains movie.

This movie isn't suited for everyone's taste of humor and entertainment, but I'm one who watches & enjoys many genres. Though I haven't seen the original 1947 version of The Secret Life of Walter Mitty, I did thoroughly enjoy the charm and wacky humor of this modern movie. The blurred lines between reality and imagination depicted is well done, adding to the artistic style that propels its entertainment value and uniqueness.

A loose remake of the 1947 Danny Kaye film, Ben Stiller stars as Walter, a dreamer whose fantasy life is far more interesting than reality. While the film is mostly enjoyable, it does switch tone from time to time; sometimes a drama, other times a comedy. Stiller is watchable and does a reasonable job as director, but he could have used somebody looking over his shoulder to keep him on track.

My online purchase went very smoothly. I greatly appreciate the store pickup option. I will always choose it if it is available. The store pickup location was conveniently in the front of the store. The workers at the store pickup were knowledgeable and efficient. The movie is great. The cinematography is fantastic. The story is fun. The mix of fantasy and reality is enjoyable.

I never saw this movie in theaters and thought that the advertisements were mediocre. However, after a talking to a few friends they all said the same thing. That is was a good, fun movie and well worth a watch. So I bought it to watch on a boring night and was glad that I did. It is a fun, good-hearted movie that you can watch with the whole family (Grandma too). I really do wish they made more movies like this.

Ben Stiller is not my favorite actor--same in nearly everything. But, his deadpan acting is perfectly suited for "Mitty". We've all known or been daydreamers like Mitty, so watching a daydreamer putting their thoughts into action in amazing scenery around the globe is satisfying. Without giving away the ending, Mitty eventually ... Watch the movie and be entertained.
