I love this E Book. I wasn't sure how much I would use it when I ordered but it's become my best friend. Easy to use, great features. I have ordered one for my husband and another for my daughter.

Very disappointing!

I bought this Ereader in hopes that it would provide reading pleasure for a nine-year-old who adores reading. The software would not sync, even after resetting! Now, I have a piece of faulty equipment and more importantly, a disappointed child. Returning it first thing in the morning...very disappointed with Best Buy endorsing this mess!

Worst E Reader

This is the worst e reader I have seen yet. I bought 2 because the price was great for what they said you got until I saw what you really get. A headache. I had the e reader from December 12 to Jan 3rd and had to re set the thing 4 times because it would just lock up and not respond to anything. It would have a message about being hooked up to the computer all the time (not when attached) and I would have to power off and back on again to do anything.

This was a great buy after Christmas. I read the mixed reviews and bought it. Just make sure you charge it first. Than set up the wireless and grab the updates. It holds about of 4-4 1/2 hour charge if you have the wireless on, and I have not tried it without the wireless yet. I love the night reading feature. Delighted with purchase.

My mom got me the The Sharper Image Literati ereader for christmas. We had decided on a diffrent one but when she went to buy it best buy talked her into this one. They told her ( and i quote from her ) " you can just put pdf files and epubs on it if you dont ant to buy from the store" which is what i was aiming for. The fact is, ITS IMPOSSIBLE!!!. You simply cant do it. I waisted about 6 hours of my life trying to do it and research how to do it. It'd be a fine peice of equipment if it was open format ( like it said online ) but its not. And if you want to buy from the kobo ( literati ) store thats cool, other than the fact that the borders store is about 50 percent cheaper ( but thats nothing against best buy ). I dont know, it might be right for you, but it wasnt for me.

I own a Kindle and have never used another ereader. My Dadwas interested in an ereader but didn't want me to spend a lot of money on it. When I saw this on sale and read the reviews, I felt that surely it was worth $50. I bought one for my Dad. (I would have bought two but Best Buy only had one.)
I didn't have high expectations. I wanted to put several books on it and send it home with Dad. When I visited again, I would add more books. The reader's screen lit up when I plugged it in to charge. I left it charging overnight, then unplugged it. The lit screen never changed. I couldn't turn it off. I couldn't reset it. No matter what I did, I was left looking at a blank lit screen.
This piece of junk will be going back to Best Buy ASAP!

We purchased the Literati ereader for my mother for Christmas. Not only will it not connect to our wireless network. But the customer service provided by the company is the worst I've ever dealt with. Their phone support disconnects you about 50% of the time. Their email support on their site doesn't work. You get an error every time you try to submit an email. The device only works if you connect to a wireless network. They provide you with a cable to connect via usb to a computer, but you can't download books that way. This is the worst electronic device and worst customer support I've ever had to deal with. DO NOT BUY unless you love being frustrated. The device is being returned today and a Nook is going to be purchased.

I bought this ereader after reading the customers reviews. But I have to say that I am very dissapointed with this product. If you like to read classic it might work for you because it has 10 book already downloaded. However if you buy a book from their own store (which is in the ereader) the book will not be compatible with the ereader. I follow all the intructions provided but the ereader wll not sync the book. I even tried to download the book from my computer to the ereader but my computer doesn't reconigze the device (and my computer use vista) They charge me for the book and I was not able to read the book in the ereader. My recommendation, don't waste your money with this ereader.

I had some intrepidation after reading the reviews on this product but so far so good. I bought this for my wife and she absolutely loves it. It found our home wifi and downloaded the software update virtually by itself and has since downloaded another update. Couldn't be happier.

The Sharper Image Literati digital reader did NOT work at all like the start-up guide said. In fact, I couldn't get Wi-fi at all so I returned it. I have now purchased a Kindle, Model# D09001, which btw is Wi-fi only and NOT 3G also, and LOVE it! The Kindle is so user-friendly and although I do wish I would have gottten one with 3G, I still think it's great!

This thing is hard to use. My spouse was under the impression that you can download the books from your pc to the reader- you can, but only after you connect to wifi. If you do not have wifi, you have to find a home, school or library to initially sync it from NOT a wifi hotspot like you find at coffee shops or restaurants. Also, trying to find troubleshooting instructions was a real wild goose chase.
Have to agree with other reviews that said loading times and reaction times were slow.
Stay away from this awful ereader and buy a quality product.

I picked one of these up for $50 bucks, while it was working it was mediocre as an ebook reader. It's made in china, and imported by a wholesaler which The Sharper Image uses. It died (boot looped) after about 4 hours and I returned it the next day. I did not seek an exchange.
