Great movie! It's actually based on an old comic book story line I read when I was a kid, and it was great to see it made into a movie.

The action sequences and story of this movie puts it up there with one of the best X-men movies!

Hugh Jackman's portrayal of Wolverine is what I consider one of the most perfect actor/character combinations in film history. Every mannerism and emotion is wholly truthful to the original character, while Jackman's natural talent and charisma give even further life to one of the most celebrated characters in modern fiction. This story focuses on the life of Logan after he'd left the X-Men to become a solitary soul. Forced back into society by a man who wishes to grant Logan his ultimate wish, he becomes trapped between people vying for power and people wanting him dead. The film is visually beautiful and told at a slower pace than Logan's previous stories. Mangold's direction is pointedly character-driven, with an emphasis on loss and violence. Jackman's portrayal will go down along with Toshiro Mifune's Sanjuro and Clint Eastwood's Blondie as the greatest lone guns in cinema history.

Must see for any Wolverine fans out there. Story line is off the usual beaten path but still very good. Love Wolverine.

I really enjoyed watching Logan's journey as he goes to tokyo. The new characters and the culture difference was great.

Not the greatest of comic book films but definitely deserves a little more love.

It goes without saying that "The Wolverine" is a VASTLY superior sequel to "X-Men Origins: Wolverine", and you can find any number of thought-pieces online as to why, so I won't retread that ground here. What is worth saying regarding this release is that no matter how much cheaper the single-disc release of "The Wolverine" may be compared to this one, THIS IS THE VERSION TO BUY. Never mind the presence of the 3D disc, since that's not even a thing TV manufacturers bother to produce anymore; what matters is that in this "Unleashed Extended" edition, you get both the theatrical release (which, while still too tame a telling of this story, was a decent movie) AND an unrated, extended version of the movie that gives a much clearer taste of what Director James Mangold was going to bring us with this year's "Logan". It's bloodier and more violent (which any comics fan knows Wolverine should always have been), and it digs a bit deeper into the characters and their relationships, which is always better than trimming those bits out for the sake of a shorter run-time. I caught this version on sale for $9.99 at Best Buy, and I couldn't be happier.

Love wolverine, if you want to watch the wolverine the extended version is the best version to watch!

Though this movie shows Wolverine being vulnerable, I still love the story.

What was so apparent from the begininng was that in the time line from the movies this came somewhere after the last x-men movie and before the revamp this coming summer with days of future past. A great director and plot line transformed this coulda been so-so action flick into a definitive x-man movie that fans have wanted. So we're talking comics here and not Tolstoy, so all you non fans sit on the sidelines and wait for the next lame die hard sequel. Hugh Jackman elevates a somewhat two dimensional character on paper into an Everyman joe with dark issues trying to move on in his life, escaping his demons only to brought back into the fold. But face it the wolverine is a hero wether he admits it or not and the movie's plot line is there to put him on the right path. This is movie aduiences want, as Marvel has shown with there build up to the avengers franchise. Listen to the comic geeks and you'll have something special ( but I still won't forgive the producers for bringing Brett Ratner in to direct the last stand x-man movie, who wanted to see Rush Hour with x-man? Fire that genius). the Wolverine movie has me excited about a franchise that I thought went the way pay-phones on the street.

Good movie, not the best. Hugh Jackman nails Wolverine again though!
