I've used dashcams before. The software/app is not designed or built well for this unit. I've tried for several weeks now to make it work but to no avail. To connect the F800 to your phone's app, you have to follow certain steps, really unorthodox steps to connect initially. Then it may or may not connect the next time and only when your hotspot is on. And sometimes have to click through a splash screen on the app, which should not be necessary each time. Also, the app keeps crashing when you want to review files. You have to wait a long time to see live view. I am not able to save changes to settings within to the app, such as my time zone, so the files are not recording accurate time. Files should provide you GPS coordinates as it states it is connected to GPS and the internet. Otherwise whats the purpose of connecting to GPS, and why does it state connected to the internet? Still have no answer from them on that. Note, I'm using an iPhone 7 and the latest iOS software update. I've re-loaded the firmware several times and its no different. Thinkware tech support cannot offer any further solutions. Maybe the F800 Air (cloud upload capability) at year end might be better. But for $300 the app and interface is horrible. Too much playing around to get the app and the camera to try to work.

The app needs further development but put the micro SD card into the adapter provided and the quality overcomes this weakness. I was happy enough to purchase the rear view camera after the initial purchase.

Overall, this is a very good dash cam. Excellent picture that covers the entire front of the vehicle. Interface with app could be a bit easier to set up. Also, I wish it was able to use the personal hot spot to connect to two different smart phones. Otherwise, a very good unit. I will be getting the optional rear view camera.

I had the 750 and the 800 is basically the same. I would give this camera a 5 rating if the software was currently available for my Samsung cellphone. The initial setup is simple and the video is excellent.

Video quality is what i am impressed about this cam. The installation is very solid and no shakes during driving. Cam is sensitive with bumps, and that makes me feel secured because i know that it will lock the recording when i need it. Make sure you change the SD card to a better one. The one that came with it is unreliable and gives me blank recording at times.

Camera works great video is fantastic night vision works great

This unit was easy to set up and seems to work pretty well. The only problem is that it does not have a rear camera and no built in GPS.

I really like this camera. I bought it at the end of August 2018 and have made several YouTube videos using the footage from the camera. However, it has now been 11 months and suddenly the camera doesn't turn on. The only reason for this I can guess is because of the heat inside the vehicle. Despite this malfunction, I do recommend the product, but I recommend new purchasers remove the camera from the windshield when not in use during summer. The only other issue with it is the Wi-Fi connection that is used to connect the camera to your smartphone. It has never worked for me.

I've owned a couple of cobra's in the past. The f800 thinkware dash cam is far superior. I like the smart phone app for it. Easy to review if needed. I would recommend the hard wire kit (extra) but worth it. Best buy carries it on line. They installed it perfectly. Also it frees up the car power outlet for cell phone, etc.

I used this as well as the rear camera for my needs. It works great. Might want to get a bigger Micro SD card. It comes with a 16gb.

I was a little apprehensive when I first purchased a new camera for our car. The last one cost me a mint and didn't work right. So, on advise from our installer, I purchased the Thinkware front and back camera, I love it. It also warns of red light cameras. I am very happy and would recommend this set up to anyone else.

I was looking for a dash cam they talked me thru what was best for me not what was the most expensive .

good all reliable thinkware! able to catch the accident video records are good only have trouble connecting it wifi but it does the main purpose! it also detects speed laser detector! a good back up on the road!

Great camera little hard to set up but once you do works great ly has good night vision even in not well lit places

Good camera quality. Difficult for older, non-technical smart phone user to use monitoring. Still learning.

Rating given low due to the app and its connectivity. When paying that much price, expected that there will be a screen on device, but to view anything, it needs to be connected to a phone via WiFi. Also, when in WiFi mode, anyone can connect to it, and download. It’s sleek, so that’s good. App isn’t smooth during usage. Cannot connect to device easily even when connected to WiFi.

It protects my car 24/7. I can down load and review right to my phone. Warns me when I enter a speed camera zone or when a car starts to moveat a light so I don't hold up traffic. It is well worth the money I spent. Great product.

Glad I spent the extra money on this unit over a cheaper, $100 or less one. Clear picture day and night. Picks up sound good when talking in the cab. Can even hear the transmission shift when driving. Easy install and app setup.
