So I actually brought the Thinkware F800 got it installed and everything, the next day is wasn't working. Took it back to Best Buy, found out I had a defective unit. The only one that had was the Q800 Pro, I love it much better than the F800. The Q800 Pro has 2k video what's not to love.

I have one of these dash cams on each of my vehicles. It may not be the newest model, but the picture is clear day and night. I have had no issues with heat in Georgia or cold in Iowa. The ability to check video using the app without pulling the SD card is a great feature. Dont cheap out on a $50 camera when you need it the most. Its saved me with a fender bender when it was their word vs mine. The money saved from this one incident bought the camera. Plus capturing videos of other idiot drivers make for great YouTube videos.

Pro: The low profile camera shows clear footage of vehicle travel including surrounding traffic and background. Impressive.
Con: I did not realize that I could only review history on cell phone while in the vehicle. Disappointing. I should have better researched. I do not remember it coming up during the buying experience.

Great quality video, easy to operate and doesn’t block the view. The only issue I had is that you can’t use any other brands for micro SD card and Thinkware’s brand is 4-5 times more expensive for an extra micro SD card.

Pros:
- decent 4K for a tiny device
- wifi download / control is awesome
- wires for battery hook-up is a nice addition
Cons:
- expensive
- 1 min clips are a bit short, may take you a while to find a specific clip due to the amount of files. there may be a way to change the timing, but i did not find it yet
- did not come with a back cam, and for the price i'm surprised it didn't come with one

Had both front and rear cameras on the THINKWARE Q800PRO in stalled in my Ford F-150. Both cameras work great and picture quality is fantastic. Has numerous features which are easy to operate. A must in today’s world.

Works great, a little bit hard to set up but once you do it is very helpful. A little sensitive in the alerts but that’s able to be changed.

I bought this when it was a deal of the day item. The video quality is good, the lane departure and forward collision warnings are more of a nuisance so i turned them off. I am in Arizona, the camera will shut down in parking mode when it gets too hot but other than that its been a great camera! If you can get it at a good price its worth it!

Replaced my F750

I had my F750 for 5 plus years and it finally tanked. I looked at the Q800 and the only thing I needed to do was replace my rear camera as it was no longer compatible. Otherwise all the wiring including the wiring to the rear camera was identical which made for an extremely easy transition. It works great, video is way better and the new APP is fantastic! I work in Sacramento where we get heat well above 100 for days at a time, never had an overheat issue with my F750 so hoping the same on the Q800.

easy phone app setup for seeing what the camera sees. I did not try the cloud feature. I have a cheaper thinkware version in another car. I like this camera because I can set sensitvity to a less sensitive number where bumps don't set off an event that is used to easily locate a recorded accident. My 1 ton ford has a bumpy ride which is not good for sensitive event camera, which is constantly beeping every little bump in the road. This is really good in that aspect and hardly ever beeps. Well worth the money

So far so good. I like this dash cam, only drawback is how long it takes to get personal hotspot going on my phone but after that connects pretty quickly to it. Was skeptical because of the low rated reviews but so far no complaints.

Poor video quality, can’t read the plate number.

Doesn’t record the plate number when someone hit my car.
I bought Thinkware Q800 pro front /rear and it was installed by Best Buy.
I liked it a lot, until someone hit my car while my car was parking on the street.
None of the front /rear camera have record an readable license plate. The weather was nice, car was parking. Can not file a police report because I don’t have other car’s license plate. Sent video to Thinkware and they can’t read the plate number too.
They did offered the placement camera but it doesn’t get any better.
I spent about $400 for the sets and installation. What’s the point if this thing can’t record a readable plate number? Now I have to pay $1,600 to fix the car damage out of my pocket.
Somebody complaint about the video quality, I was warned. Wish I have listen to them.

I am quite happy with this dash cam. It’s stealth and recording are SHARP. The only downside is that it is quite the chatterbox; it will alert as soon as the vehicle is on so everyone who is around you will know you have a recording device, not my cup of tea. Also, the app is a bit temperamental.

Camera records good video. Software will not let it connect to my truck's built in hotspot. It will only connect through my phone and that interferes with Android Mobile Navigation. So I have to connect it to a small tablet to see live video. I hope they upgrade to networking so that the cloud connections can be made.

Easy to install. Video is good, but one issue. Red light cameras notifications are loud, but any road safety sounds you would not be able to hear. Very quiet. I had volume on max and still chimes very faint. Contacted tech support. They replied saying need week to test this. I’ll keep this camera until return period is in affect, but would need to return if this isn’t resolved. I had X500 camera for 7 years, sounds were loud. Thinkware please fix it!!! Will update here if solution is found.

So far its working out really great.
The set up was very simple, and the installation was pretty straightforward. The video quality looks bad at first if you hook your phone up to it, but when you go to transfer it to a computer its really quite good.
I would recommend this for anyone who needs a simple plug and play solution without alot of complicated nonsense or thinking involved.
