Personally, I found the Thrustmaster T-Flight Hotas One to be a pretty solid and satisfying option for those looking for an accessible yet functional flight controller. What impressed me most was its ergonomic design: having the joystick and throttle separated made me feel more comfortable during long gaming sessions as it allowed me to have more precise and natural control. Plus, setup was extremely easy; just plug it in and it's ready to go, which is a huge plus for avoiding any hassle. As both an Xbox and PC user, I found it great that it supports both platforms, giving it a lot of versatility. As for the flight experience, while the joystick sensitivity is good, it doesn't have the same precision or force feedback response as more expensive models. This might be a drawback for those looking for ultra-realistic simulation, but for the type of games I usually play (like Flight Simulator or combat sims) it does its job perfectly. What I highlight most is the balance between quality and price. While it is not the most advanced joystick, it offers a satisfactory experience without having to invest an exorbitant amount of money. Without a doubt, it is an excellent option for those who are starting out in flight simulation or for those who do not want to spend so much but are looking for something more complete than a traditional controller. In short, it is a great option if you are looking for something affordable and with good performance. If you are not an extreme fan of flight simulation, this joystick will offer you a solid and fun experience.

Great system, easy to setup, plenty of buttons for keybinds. Only thing that would make this 5 stars is if there throttles for both engines.

I got this hotas joystick specifically to play Star Wars Squadrons on Xbox One. The game is great and works well with the game pad but for the best experience you need a joystick. I liked that it would work with a pc as well. On all counts it works great, especially with Squadrons. It takes getting used to just because it has a lot of buttons and you have to get used to the configuration. The buttons are mapped somewhat like the default settings on an Xbox game pad, but not all. But it is all customizable. And it feels great! One feature that I wasn't expecting is a switch that changes from Xbox to PC mode. I switched it over and plugged in to my HP and it was recognized and set up without any more steps. The one issue I have with it, is that it does have limited uses. I wondered if it may be usable with other games such as fps but it isn't even recognized as a controller. I took one star out just for the limited uses. But, man! Totally worth it for flight sims and arcade dogfights.

Well constructed. Nicely weighted, but some may find the need to use Velcro to secure the bases to some surfaces. Very nice and user friendly features; stick tension adjustments, dual rudder use with a stick rudder lock, etc. Fits a nice size keyboard between the throttle and stick when extended, but the separation is juuuuust a tad too short to fit a Logitech G910 Orion Spectrum keyboard. That’s fine, though, it’s a massive one. I have spares that I can use. The buttons on this thing are nice and tactile, and most of them have a hard, audible click. A few of them have soft presses, like the Y button (which is meant to be pressed with the heel of your thumb, so makes sense to be soft for comfort), and the ‘previous/next’ buttons on the throttle base. I use this thing with Elite Dangerous on Xbox One mainly, and I’m having a hard time finding anything negative about it. There were some issues with the first gen/batch of these, but they seem to have been fixed from all accounts I’ve heard. You can tell if you get a first gen by the plastic it’s made from; its slick and shiny, and the throttle falls forward on its own quite easily. These first gen sets usually end up having a slight leftward yaw drift or some other small issues, from the experiences of others I know that use these. Second gens are made from a slightly textured, more rigid plastic, and the throttle stays where it’s put when you let it go. I have pretty big hands, guitar/piano hands, and this setup is very very comfortable under the palms. All in all, I love it. It’s an absolute game changer for anything it’s compatible with.

The item arrived in the original box with no external wrapping. The box looked like it went through a war on the way to my home. Upon opening the package there was absolutely 0 packing or item protection. It appears they just threw the joy stick in the box and shipped it. Best Buy shippers are horrible. BUYER BEWARE WHEN BUYING ANY THING SHIPPED FROM BEST BUY Luckily the joy stick was not damaged.

GREAT “STARTER” HOTAS FLIGHT STICK AND THROTTLE

REVIEW: THRUSTMASTER - TMSTR T-FLIGHT HOTAS ONE JOYSTICK OFFICIALLY LICENSED FOR XBOX SERIES X|S, XBOX ONE AND PC Model:4460168 GREAT “STARTER” HOTAS FLIGHT STICK AND THROTTLE Without totally breaking the bank, the TMSTR T-FLIGHT HOTAS ONE (Hands On Throttle And Stick) creates a very immersive experience. I primarily purchased it for “Star Wars Squadron” on the PC and have thoroughly enjoyed using it. I’ve never really got the hang of console controllers on the PC, and mouse and keyboards for games like this take too much muscle memory for every obscure function. The TMSTR T-FLIGHT HOTAS ONE just feels right for these kinds of games. I was glad to see it also works on the XBOX which I’ve not tried yet, but plan to soon. Updating the Firmware is difficult, but a must, and you must install the software BEFORE YOU PLUG IN THE CONTROLLER. The previous THRUSTMASTER sticks I have purchased in the 1990’s were junk and broke quickly (which kept me from buying this brand for the past 25 years), but I felt more comfortable after reading the reviews that this investment would last for a while. BEST FEATURES - Stick and Throttle can be combined or detached - Good Seeming Build Quality - All Buttons are clearly labeled making setup easier on games - Long enough (for me) connector to the PC USB port - Manually Adjustable Resistance (on the stick) - Included Allen Wrench for combining Stick and Throttle (under stick) SETUP PAY ATTENTION TO THE DIRECTIONS, which tell you to load the software drivers first, and then when instructed connect the stick to the computer. Of course, I did not and it took me about 2 hours to dig the drivers out and start over again. I had a real hard time getting the firmware to install (maybe because of not installing the drivers correctly). I found the firmware update tool would not see the TMSTR T-FLIGHT HOTAS ONE unless I unplugged and re-plugged it in while it was searching. It took a few times repeating (plug / unplug) before the firmware installed fully. I was not expecting to have to “map” most of the buttons manually on Squadrons, but there are plenty of hints you can search out online. I could not understand why my ship would not accelerate, then I realized I had to do the mappings. Once I got the buttons mapped and printed out a map, I was blasting rebels with ease. OVERALL IMPRESSION I call the TMSTR T-FLIGHT HOTAS ONE a starter stick, but that is not a knock. You won’t find flashing lights, or vibration feedback or automatic resistance as on some higher end sticks. But it also not $300 either. It has a good weight but is plastic not metal. There are no clamps, so it could more on a slippery desk. None of these things detract from what it is. The TMSTR T-FLIGHT HOTAS ONE is a good basic, but advanced enough stick for casual use. It does not pretend to be any more than what it is. SUMMARY / CONCLUSION / RECOMMENDATION I would recommend the TMSTR T-FLIGHT HOTAS ONE for anyone just getting started with this type of controller, or for anyone who does not want to spend an arm and a leg on something more advanced (and more complicated to operate). I think youth and adults will be equally happy with the overall experience this stick provides.

Not bad at all - Flying has dramatically improved

Been using my standard XBox Series X game pad for months with FS2020 with has been pretty good for the most part. The 40th Anniversary update with helicopters has been a bit frustrating with the gamepad/controller though. So this is when I started looking into a better flight control, joystick. This really has worked for me, far far better control and flying not just the heli's, but all aircrafts. Lot of buttons, different placements so this you'll have to get used to that..but with a lot of flying that will take little to no time. USB cord is pretty long unlike other very short cords I've seen It's a great affordable starter joystick for flying Flight Simulator 2020, the throttle is awesome. The only gripe I do have is - I wish the small tab that connects the Throttle and joystick connected MUCH better. It's extremely easy to detach. So when you pick this up, make sure you grab both sections or else one piece may detach and fall to the floor. **Some may like this totally detached which is cool. I like it attached just due to space constraints with my current setup. A ting piece of velco holding these two together can solve this issue a little more

Solid, simple system. A bit bulky, and certainly an entry model, but doesn't feel overly-cheap or unworthy of long-term use. Also the open box program is awesome, try it.

Bought this without knowing what to expect, since I have never owned one of these. Tested this product on my Xbox Series X with Star Wars squadrons, Ace Combat 7 and lastly with flight simulator and I was pleasantly surprised with the experience. Now, that I am playing flight simulator I would like to get the pedals too and compare how the experience improves. If you have the money to get this I would definitely consider it

Bought this for Ace Combat 7 after being out of the aerial combat game for a while and I’m loving it. Pros: Can be used as one unit or split into a separate throttle and stick so it fits most any space/comfort preference, when used as one unit the cables coil into the base cleanly Stays in place pretty well without any extra adhesive Button layout is mostly pretty intuitive Cons: almost all parts are plastic, if not the whole thing so it feels a little fragile Rudder controls on the throttle are in a slightly weird spot Can’t be screwed into a base as far as I can tell

Very well made. I’ve been playing Star Wars Squadrons with these joysticks and it is so much more fun. Agreed that Velcro helps keep them mounted, however, I found that I didn’t have an issue with any slippage when I played before I put it on (only reason I put it on was to mount them to a lap desk so I could play from the couch) 10/10 would buy again.

Great value for the price….does everything you need it to….just be aware that in Microsoft flight simulator…it does not have a designated button for trim control so you will have to override and assign it if you like to use trim while flying.
