Customers are saying

Customers regard the TMX Force Feedback Racing Wheel highly for its realistic force feedback, ease of use, and excellent value for the price. Many appreciate its compatibility with multiple platforms and responsive handling. However, some users find the quality of the pedals to be lacking. The overall experience is positive, with the strengths of the wheel outweighing the shortcomings of the pedals for most users.

Great upgrade from a simple or basic wheel.

I’ve had the Ferrari basic model from these guys for years, I finally have adult money and decided to splurge on a new wheel. Very good choice for an upgrade especially when considering that direct drive wheels cost so much. This is a solid choice for that middle ground better than a basic wheel with options for upgrades with new pedals and shifter attachments. If you want that next level feel for a wheel check this one out! Mine gets used almost everyday!

Great racing wheel. Never had one before and it might be an entry level wheel and it’s internal mechanism might not be very smooth when doing simulated driving in forza horizon but if you take that aside it feels great using this to play those type of games!!!!! Kids love it!!!!!

They are nothing like they were in the 90s and early 2000s this thing is fun! The only thing I don’t like is I bought it for Xbox S and it has the PlayStation logo right in the middle I took it back thinking it was the wrong one but they said they are universal so it does work it also does have a Xbox button below the wheel

Fun to use, you need to get used to it. Much harder than controller. A lot more fun too. Chances are you’ll need to change your chair and/ or desk due to height or if you’re desk is too thick to clamp. Make sure to look up how to calibrate it or you’ll have a hard time.

    Excellent 1st racing wheel

Pros: - Relatively low cost - Excellent documentation - Plug and play Xbox support - Pedal plate has excellent carpet and foot traction Cons: - Feedback can feel slightly mushy - Difficult to modulate throttle and brake with 1 foot - USB cable too short for many living rooms and home theaters OK, so this is my 1st racing wheel. I'd long wanted one, but hadn't wanted to pay near-console prices for the frequently recommended models. At $130 (sale price) this was pretty much an impulse buy, so I ordered it. It was delivered the next day. Setup is super easy and well documented. Remember to check that the wheel has the latest firmware installed via the Windows app, even if you're using it only with an Xbox as I am. I have the wheel attached to a flat plywood lapdesk via the included clamp. The clamp and screw fit right between my legs in my lap so they don't bother me and actually help anchor the wheel in place relative to my body. The wheel works as advertised, as does the driver and software downloaded from the website. Follow the instructions in the booklet and you'll be just fine. There's excellent documentation online too. The wheel also functions as an Xbox controller, so you can turn the console on and navigate through menus straight into your game without ever touching the actual thumbstick controller. In racing (Forza Horizon 4) I found the wheel took time getting used to. You definitely want to do a fair bit of open world driving with it before trying it in competition. I'm a bit split on the feedback. On one hand it's pretty smooth and not jarring or painful. On the other hand, it's often mushy (probably thanks to the belt drive) and can be difficult to take seriously. In other words, you will never forget you're playing a videogame and not driving an actual vehicle with this wheel. Given that it's belt driven and the price point, I wouldn't recommend fighting the wheel as that would most likely cause the belt to wear and break prematurely. The USB cable is relatively long for a USB cable (70 in) but short for my basement home theater and living room. Fortunately USB M-F extension cables exist. I also found it difficult to switch from throttle to brakes as I do on my car. I admit this is mostly due to car pedals being top mounted while wheel pedals are bottom mounted by physical necessity. I'm considering using both feet simultaneously but I also worry that might bleed over into real world automatic transmission driving, which would be problematic. Now, there are definitely other racing wheels out there. Most cost anywhere from over 2x to over 3x the sale price of this item. Are those wheels better? More than likely, especially if they're gear-driven. But are they 2 - 3x better for the money? Probably not. Bottom line: this is a great 1st racing wheel for those looking to upgrade from a thumbstick controller without breaking the bank or for casual gamers. Gamers wanting simulation-level realism and the ability to fight the wheel safely might want to consider higher end geared models. But everyone else will be just fine with this. The TMX Force neither oversells itself nor overcharges for what it is.

Still going strong one year later

Bought this a year ago to replace my Logitech Momo wheel which died. To this day this wheel still works great. I mounted the pedals to a piece of wood (I have hardwood flooring and they slid around too much) and all I needed was 2 screws for less than $2 bucks at Lowe's. The wheel itself is nicely built and the paddles are an added bonus. I mainly play F1 2018 and American Truck Simulator and both games recognized the wheel no problem. I do miss the little stick shifter I had on my Momo, but I've learned to live without it. If you don't wish to spend $400 + on a wheel like the Logitech, This wheel is a great cheap alternative!

Great wheel for the racer at home

A few years ago when racing wheels started to become popular, I tried a few out. None felt very realistic at all and I took them back. Now here we are several years later and I find this Thrustmaster at Best Buy on sale. I say to myself, nah, forget it, it will never measure up just like all the other wheels I have tried. Well the wheel was so cheap that I had to give it another go, but how good could this wheel be at this price point. Well long story short, the Thrustmaster works awesome and brings excitement to my racing games that you just cannot get with the handheld controls. The pedals are lacking in feel and I would buy the upgraded versions but the wheel itself is exactly what you want. It has accuracy, and feel. If your wanting a whole racing sim set up I would go a different direction, but if you work everyday and want to come home to run some sim laps then this is the wheel for you. It gets the job done. I have not had any mechanical issues with the wheel yet but I DID buy the extended warranty just in case. We will see how it holds up as it gets plenty of use in our house.

This is the perfect entry to sim racing. The force feedback is solid, and I have been having a great time playing assetto corsa, dirt rally, f1 2020, pc2. I’ve spent 40+ hours using this since I purchased it. The only complaint is the peddles are meh, but thrustmaster makes much better peddles to upgrade to. This was perfect to give me a taste of driving in sim races, so I fully recommend this for anybody that is looking to not spend too much on getting started. You can always upgrade and add more peripherals.

I've had two other brands of Gaming Wheels and neither one has lasted. I only use the wheel for Farming simulator. I read all the reviews and even watched the YouTube videos on the Thrustmeter and found it to be the best option and price for me. I was able to pick to pick it up at my local Best Buy store. Set us was easy and it has been working excellent. I am very pleased with the Thrustmeter. Its well worth the price and works perfectly.

Long review made short: This wheel is perfect for anyone looking to step into the racing wheel world. It has force feedback, and a passable pedal set. That being said, I do have a few complaints. The wheel doesn't always center properly, the pedals don't stay flat in the ground in a temporary set up, and most annoyingly, some buttons are positioned close to the wheel rim for accessibility, but make a little too close, as sometimes I unintentionally hit buttons trying to turn the wheel. That being said, I do have larger hands, so that may not be a problem for most. All in all, a great, cheaper way to get into the racing wheel world, without sacrificing too much.

Great entry level sim wheel...you looking for your first feedback wheel? Scoop this one up, 200$ is very fair for what your getting. Also to mention you van add on new pedals with a clutch and a shifter if you need from thrust masters..clamp works well wish it was metal but its not a 400$ wheel. Im happy with the feeling of it. Works great with forza horizon 4. Soon enough getting the new pedals and shifter...hands down a good buy

I purchased this to use on Xbox One X and I was not disappointed! I already had a racing chair that I got at a garage sale so all I had to do was hook this up to it and I was ready to race! I tried it out on a couple different types of games and it performed above expectations on all of them. I will say the most fun was a dirt derby game where you do time trials off-road. It’s crazy how realistic it feels. I felt like I was actually driving off-road and felt every bump and twitch. It’s a little tough to get the hang of at first and can be a little frustrating but once you get it you’ll never wanna stop using it. I wish this type of technology was around 15 years ago when all the racing games were big on PS2 but it’s available now and I say take advantage of that!

This is a great wheel for those of you who are beginning to use a wheel when racing. The force feedback is okay but not great, I ended up going for the more expensive T300 by the same company, Thrustmaster, mainly because I intend to do more serious simulation racing and I found a great deal on one. Remember that Best Buy will price match most items. In the future I might end up going for the Fanatec products, would be awesome if Best Buy started selling them. Regardless, great product, would totally recommend. Just make sure that you have a table or somewhere to mount it, and if your pedals can lay against a wall, that'll help in not having them move.

This is my 2nd ThrustMaster wheel, first with force feedback. It is awesome. Please remember that when you start using a wheel, you will not be great. It will be frustrating and it will take time to get better. The only trouble I had with mine was the pedals were not recognized at first. Fortunately, I had my old set of pedals to plug in and test. Nothing was wrong. Must have been a simple reset that was needed. I plugged the pedals in that came with it after that and it has worked ever since.

Great budget wheel! Haven't played many games aside from Asetto Corsa(PC) and iRacing(also PC) Would recommend to any beginner, but would definitely recommend springing for the upgraded pedals. Whether they're t3pa's or the T-LCM's with a load cell brake, the brake makes loads of difference in lap times. Its worth noting that the Force Feedback isn't as strong as the Logitech's and definitely lacking in comparison to Fanatec's in any level, but is definitely smoother and slightly less noisy than the Logitech comparables. All in all, its served me very well over the last year and was a big upgrade from my old Driving Force GT.
