Bought to put my truck keys on, definitely worth the price! Just a plus that it can ring my phone if it’s lost too! 100% would pare it with Life360!

    Unique Tracking Features

This small location tracker works well and can be set up and controlled by a downloaded ios or android app, depending on the phone you are using. That differentiates it from its most well-known competitor, the Air Tag. Once set up and registered, the location of your tag shows up on a map which shows its current and recent history and you can use your phone to page your tile (which responds with a ringtone) from a distance of 350 feet. You can also double press the logo on the tile to ring the phone. After setting up the tile on the app, you will be invited the have other people joined into a circle, such as "Family" and they will be able to download the app and monitor the location of participating members with tile devices. The tile also offers an SOS feature that is activated when you hold the logo down for several seconds. This sends a signal to emergency personnel. You have to activate that feature and when you do, the application offers several seconds to cancel the SOS before it goes out so that you can test it. I am happy to report that I was not confronted with an emergency during my testing to find out how well that feature works. You can also upgrade the features with a paid subscription that costs $99 a year. The addtional fee offers a replacement warranty for all tile products for defects or accidental damage, unlimited sharing with friends and family, an expanded location history, text access to premium Customer Care, and Item reimbursement for lost items that cannot be located through the tile app. As well as smart alerts which proactively notify you if an item is left behind. The Tile performs its duties well, but I found the set up process a little confusing as to exactly what features came with the tile and what features were available only with the addtional premium. To use the full features, you have to install two apps: The Tile app, and then the Life360 app. At any rate, you are offered one month free on the premium services, and will be billed $99 a year thereafter. The historical tracking and automatic notification of authorities when the SOS button is pressed are unique to the Tile device and may be of the utmost importance to potential users looking for those features. Others may opt for the free features alone.

Reliable, accurate and easy to use tracker

Regardless if I’m home, at work or in my car, I often misplace my office keys and it’s such a frustration trying to find them. A couple of times, I had to request a new set of keys only to find the lost ones after a few days. Thankfully, I now have them attached to a Tile Mate tracker by Life360 for peace of mind. This Tile Mate is a small thin black square measuring about one and half inch wide. It has a non-replaceable battery that the company claims will last about three years, and has a Bluetooth range of 350 feet and is of course water resistant. The set-up was quick and seamless. The app is intuitive and easy to navigate. You can customize alerts to locate your trackers and, beside the free service, you can subscribe to tiered services that offer additional services such as a longer location history, ID theft, crash detection and more. I have the free service that serves my needs to my satisfaction. Testing the Tile Mate in the real world has been positive. I tested the company’s claim of Bluetooth detection up to 350 feet and it passed the test at every try. Then I sent my wife to walk the dog in the neighborhood and gave her the Tile Mate with my office keys. I waited a few minutes and opened the app. After trying to connect via Bluetooth, the app notified me that it could not locate the tracker. Then I set up an alert to notify me when it was found and, in less than a minute, I received a notification while the tracker was at more than 1500 feet from the house, which was impressive. Luckily for me, around my neighborhood, there is a good concentration of Tile users which helps in locating my Tile Mate so quickly. The app shows the quantity of Tile users in your area which is useful information. Around my workplace, There are less users according to the app, and I could see some difference when I went for a walk out of the office and left my keys and my Tile Mate with my co-worker and, at about 500 feet, I tried to locate it in the app. Out of Bluetooth range, it showed the tracker’s last known location and then I set up a location alert which arrived in about 2 minutes after it was set, and the location was accurate on the map. I also like that it works in reverse, as you can use the Tile Mate button to locate your phone or tablet if connected with the app. Some people may have privacy concerns as you have to give the app constant location permission in order to work properly. My only worry was battery consumption, but I haven’t noticed much of a difference. So far, I'm happy with the performance of my Tile Mate by Life360 and it’s been a great help on a couple of occasions when I misplaced my office keys: I just clicked “Find” in the app and I heard the ringing melody. I like it enough to plan on acquiring more of them. I’m quite happy with the free service and some people will find the tiered services worth the subscription price. Its reliability, intuitive app and broad network makes it a winner in my book.

Tile Mate by Life360 is simple to operate, but rich with useful features for locating the important things in my life. Although there is a premium service with advanced location history services available for a subscription fee, the free features offer everything I want right now. Tossed into a pocketbook or carry case, I can “remind myself” where I left my critical stuff. My phone’s Tile App uses the Bluetooth feature as a proximity sensor to detect the Tile attached to or stuffed inside my valued stuff. For a Tile associated with an item at a considerable distance, there is a map that can precisely locate the Tile. Searching for my phone which has far too often slipped between cushions, or under stuff, utilizes a neat reverse search feature of the Tile. The Tile can find the phone that initiated its operation. Just double click the Tile’s embedded button. There is a related Life360 App which, when installed, adds more features such as an SOS safety service. Triple click that same button and you’ve now sent yourself a notification of your location to your Life360 Circle. After setting up theTile, its App and the Life360 App I was surprised by the detailed tracking information provided as well the accuracy of the mapping. I must also admit I’m not sure which App and what technology is doing the heavy lifting in this tracking process. I've attached an edited screen capture. SETUP: The Tile has an App which exploits the Bluetooth technology built into our phones and the Tile. It also uses the cell/GPS technology that our phones rely on for communication services. Its focus is finding things and once installed, and the Tile is initialized and linked to your phone, it’s effortless and ready to go to work. You’re invited to add the Life360 App which links to the Tile App. This Life360 App enables friends and family members who have been added to your circle to also track these Tiles. Life360 adds people location to the network you’ve created. It’s a great way to track bicycles, backpacks, sporting equipment pets and kids. Admittedly, it doesn’t take much imagination or paranoia to feel uneasy about privacy concerns. Families need to sort out those issues for themselves. Users must give permission to be included and add their phones and many will feel the added security is valuable if done ethically. Of course, a Tile attached to you or your stuff can be done surreptitiously. Tile provides a Safety Tips support site which provides a thorough explanation on how to discover and disable a Tile tracker if you are being tracked without your approval. I can recommend the Tile tracker with reservations about the potential for abuse. But knowledge is important and the very reasonable price allows all of us to explore a technology which can be put to effective use on our behalf.

The 2024 Tile Mate by Life360 is a small Bluetooth tracker that can help you keep track of the things important to you. The device itself is small at only 1.5” square and about .25” thick. The exterior is plastic construction with a keyring loop on one corner. The face of the Tile Mate is a physical button and the back features a QR code that can offer contact information if someone finds your lost device. Setup is super easy; Just scan the QR code found inside the package, download the app, set up an account, and configure your Tile Mate. Then, to use the Tile Mate, open the app and click the “Find” button in your device. If the device is in range, it will begin making a fairly loud notification tone until you stop it. The range between the Tile Mate and the phone has been good, reaching across my house. If the Tile Mate is not in range, it will keep trying to connect as you move closer and trigger the notification once in range. The inclusion of Location History in the app is also helpful. Additionally, the Tile Mate is bi-directional and can help you find a lost phone with a double-click of the face of the Tile. Some additional thoughts, the battery, while advertising a 3-year life span is non-replaceable. The basic service is free but there is a subscription available that offers 30-day location history, additional Smart Alerts, and also Item Reimbursement. Overall, having the Tile Mate offers a lot of peace of mind at an inexpensive price point.

For someone as forgetful as I am, the Tile has been a fantastic little gadget since I recently got it. This tracker has greatly improved my everyday life when i manage to lose my wallet or keys. It was quick and easy to set up, and it's quite straightforward to use. For the most part, the bluetooth is sufficient. When I use the app to locate my keys, the Tile blares loudly even if I leave them in the living room or beneath a stack of clothing. For everyday use around the house, it's rather useful, though it's not ideal if there are too many walls or obstructions. One feature I didn’t think i’d use much is the phone finder, but I’ve found it to be pretty useful. If you double click the Tile, it makes your phone ring even if it’s on silent. Thats been a lifesaver for me a couple times already. I love that this feature doesn’t need a subscription for it either. However, there is an optional paid subscription that gives you some extras like smart alerts and a longer location history. I didnt pay for it because the free version already does what I need. Some people might find the premium features useful, but for me, im good. The only significant drawback I've seem is the battery. Its not replaceable, so when it dies, you'll have to purchase a replacement. The battery is suppose to last three years, so I shouldn't have to worry about it anytime soon, but it's something to keep in mind. I wish they had made it so you could simply drop in a new battery, especially since it isn't the cheapest tracker available. Overall, though, I think the Tile is a really handy device. It’s helped saved me from stress when I lose my things. It’s small easy to use and does exactly what it’s supposed to do. if you’re someone who misplaces things a lot I’d recommend giving it a try.

Tile Mate - Options for trackers

Admittedly, I already am knee deep in the Apple AirTag ecosystem, but I have heard how good Tile products are. So when I got the chance to try out this new Tile Mate, I decided it was time to find out more. The first thing I noticed is that there is a built in cutout for a keychain. What a great concept! The Tile Mate is very lightweight. The only thing I am not crazy about is a love-hate thing. The battery lasts for three years, but it’s not replaceable. We just have to buy a new one. But, you don’t have to charge it or worry about it for about three years. The Tile Mate is pretty versatile. It has an SOS button, which is a pretty neat feature. You discretely push the button three times, and it sends an alert to the people in your Life360 Circle and emergency contacts. I already use the free version of the Life360 app with my family, so this fits right in. I have two daughters, so I like to check on their locations once in a while if the situation calls for it. There is a premium Tile membership, but I don’t have that. It only takes one bad experience to need it, but I’ll deal with that if the situation comes up. You can buy this Tile Mate individually or there are bundles. There are different kinds of Tiles, and a Tile Pro that has a replaceable battery. I feel that it is okay to use both Apple AirTags and Tile Mates to keep track of your different belongings.

This Life360 Tile Mate (2024) Bluetooth Tracker is compatible with both iOS and Android. This small discreet tracking device can be used to track your pet, backpack, keys, electronics, wallet, and so much more. In the box you get the tracking Tile. Setup is very easy. Download the Tile application from your smartphone’s App Store and follow the steps. The tracking Tile is more than just a simple tracker. It has an SOS feature that can discreetly alert a person or people of your choosing, plus the authorities. There is also a reimbursement option if an item cannot be recovered, and there are different plans from which you can choose. The find button is very useful as it will show you where the item or pet is located that is equipped with the Tile. Keep using with your Family and keep them safe with the Life360 app, where you can all log your Tile Mate trackers. This is a great little tracker to have. They come in many different colors. I have the black one. I plan on getting several more to cover more of my items.

Tile has come a long way & with Life360 as the parent now, it’s become even more advanced. TL;DR for those that want the quick stuff. More to follow. Good: Size Basic configuration with the App Stated 3 year battery life Can be used to find your phone Bad: QR Code for people to scan if found doesn’t do anything to help YOU Account create confirmation email (needed to sign up for two accounts) Linking to Life360 automatically shares with Circle (unlink is the only way to stop sharing) Meh: “Upgrade to <plan here>” to get more in the App Only findable if surrounding devices have Bluetooth on & use the Tile App So, my initial observation is that it’s smaller, lighter and thinner than I had anticipated and fit well on my keychain. It also has a button that when I pressed it, made a chime. I wasn’t too sure how the battery worked, so I had to look at the website & saw it had a “3 year” life - so, around $7/year to use this with basic functionality; not terrible. Lots more customizations come with a few different plans - monthly or annually but that’s not for me. A QR code on the back says “scan if found” - which when scanned - it just warns that this tile is findable and, in essence, to “ditch it immediately and keep whatever is attached to it.” Not sure I like that because I’d rather have it display a phone number or email for the finding party to reach out to. I went through the account creation process for two different emails (different providers) and they each took 5-10 minutes to get the code - so be patient. When I went and linked it to Life360 - it immediately started sharing it with my circles and in the one I’m in, it isn't just family so it was a bit intrusive, so I unlinked Tile from Life360 (that’s how you stop sharing the location to your circles) and it went away immediately. Lastly, it’s pretty slick that I can find either my phone or keys with either my phone or my keys now and the chimes and loudness is configurable. A downside to this is - that in order to get location of the Tile, phones/tablets in the 200 foot range, need to be running the Tile App & have Bluetooth available. In “my area” there were 220 Tile devices - and WAY more people than that, so I wonder if the Airtag / Samsung equivalent would be more capable of sharing location as the phone itself is the reporter, not solely an App. Recommended? Sure. It’s simple enough to use and is cheap enough to pick up a few.

Good Tracker, Smart Features Locked Behind Sub

I kept losing my keys around the house, and in the process of looking for my keys I would inevitably set down my phone and lose it too! This has happened enough times that my girlfriend told me to get a tile to find my keys easier. So here we are. Pros: - Easy to setup and use. - Small enough to easily fit on a keychain. - Can be used to find a phone. - Additional smart features available with a Subscription. Cons: - App constantly run in the background on phone, draining the battery more than I would like. - Battery is non-replaceable. - QR Code on back “Scan Me If Found” probably won’t help get your things back. Setup: Setup is easy, just download the app, follow the setup instructions and it will pair the Tile to your phone. Once complete, you can track the Tile from your phone through the Tile app. Additionally, a double press on the tile will trigger your phone to chime until you find it. Tile and Life360 Apps: The Tile app is straightforward, with the main tab showing your phone and paired tiles, in my case “Keys”. The Map tab shows where on the map your tile is. Notifications come into play if you lose your item and someone scans the “Scan Me If Found” QR code or if you setup smart alerts, but those require you to have the subscription service to setup smart alerts. I didn’t want more subscriptions, so I didn’t check out the smart alerts. I’m not very confident that anyone who finds anything valuable would scan some QR Code to notify the Owner, but maybe there are some people out there that would do that. Either way, finding the tile is easy so long as there is something with Bluetooth within 250 ft from it. After the Tile app is setup, the setup process will direct you to install the Life360 app which adds smart geo features if you want to send or receive notifications related to the tiles location or other conditions like pressing the button to your “Circle” of people. This all comes at an additional cost, with different plans based on the number of locations you want to track at a monthly or yearly rate. I didn’t need this feature, and I really don’t want more subscriptions. Size: The tile is a 1.47in square that is 0.29in at its thickest weights xx. This makes it the perfect size to add to a keychain, toss in a bag, or attach to a device. Power Usage and Battery Life: One concern I’ve got is how much of my phone’s battery life is consumed with the background services running. I quickly noticed that the tile app was chewing through more power than my other apps on my phone, which I understand with how tiles work. I think there could be room for improvement to some smart power features such as if the tile is at the home location or within a certain distance from the paired phone, it would reduce the number pings to the device, reducing power consumption. Or even a low power mode would be great. I had to change some settings on my phone, as my battery was draining completely when before the Tile I could easily make it through a full day on one charge. The Tile has a 3-year expected battery life. The battery on the tile is not replaceable, which is also another disappointment but would be a cause for concern if someone could just remove the battery to turn off the tile. Conclusion: If you’re constantly losing your things, like keys or phone, a Tile can be an amazing device to help you find your things. It’s small and easy to use, which makes it the perfect gift for anyone you know who keeps losing their things! Unfortunately, many of the smart features are locked behind subscriptions, which makes it lose some useful functionality.

Convenient way to save your "lost-keys" sanity

If you’ve ever suffered a gut-wrenching realization that your keys are no longer in your pocket as you reach for the lock…or maybe that feeling of near-frenzied rage at not being able to find your keys at all, the Tile Mate tracker is for you. This handy little Bluetooth doodad attaches to your keychain, tie-strap, or zipper pull and gives you some measure of security and peace of mind that you can either find the item you’ve lost in real time, or at least that you can check a map to see just how far you might have to go to retrieve whatever the Tile was attached to. Setup is a snap with the free Tile companion application. A quick button press activates the Tile device, then hang tight for some quick Bluetooth pairing action, confirm a little chirping from the Tile itself, and you’re good to go. Everything is very straightforward and guided with simple instructions and images in the setup portion of the app. The Tile Mate itself is quite thin and discreet—it easily attaches to a keychain without overwhelming other sizable objects like key fobs that might be attached to the keyring as well. Once you’re online, the free app lets you page your Tile devices with a loud electronic alarm similar to a “find my phone” ping. If you’ve lost your keys behind a couch or in a pair of pants in another room and are still having trouble tracking it down, the app will guide you move around while it measures the strength of the Bluetooth signal to the Tile Geiger-counter-style. If you’ve left a Tile-tagged object behind and it’s not within Bluetooth range of other users with the Tile app running on their phones, you can pull up what I found to be a REALLY accurate map of the last known location of the Tile device. That last part is kind of important to understand if you get more than a little geographically separated from your Tile. These devices have no Wi-Fi or cellular radios—they rely on the Bluetooth connection to your phone (and an always-on connection at that), or that of other Bluetooth-enabled devices nearby that also operate in the Tile ecosystem, to keep the location data of your Tile updated in real-time. If you do happen to wander far away from your Tile, and no one else is within 200-250 feet of the lost Tile who is also running the Tile app on their device, you can activate the “Notify when found” function in the app and Tile’s network of users and devices will essentially crowdsource the Tile’s location any time another Tile user/active device comes in close proximity. You can also share your Tile with anyone else via link or email who has the Tile app, and they can also track/find your device’s location for you. Although I personally found the free Tile services completely adequate for my needs, there are additional premium features behind a subscription paywall. The most helpful of these is arguably the ability to send notifications to your phone when you do start to wander away from your Tile-enabled device(s) do you don’t end up leaving them on a shelf in a store or dangling in the basket of a shopping cart. 30-day location history is also available for subscribers…I guess for keeping track of the comings-and-goings of your possessions over time rather than just the current or last-known location. Additional benefits of the premium services include streamlined warranty replacements, lost item reimbursement, and a supposedly elevated tier of customer service. One unexpectedly helpful bonus of the Tile Mate is the 2-way paging feature so that you can use a Tile in reverse to find your phone—even if it’s been silenced! This was exceptionally handy for me when my phone slid down beside my car set without my knowledge, and I didn’t have an easy way to get a hold of someone to call my phone or use the “Find My” app to ring it. Those of you with personal safety concerns can also program the Tile to perform an SOS routine that quietly sends an SOS message and location details to people specified in your Tile circle of contacts. Despite all these handy features, there are naturally a few gotchas you need to consider. First, the Tile system works best by ALWAYS maintaining active Bluetooth contact with your phone and the Tile app ALWAYS running in the background. Depending on battery age, broadcast distance/conditions, and frequency of use, a Tile device (or two…or several) and active Tile network services can accelerate your phone’s battery drain. I didn’t notice a terribly egregious drop-off in the battery capacity of my iPhone 14 Pro Max, but I could tell I needed to recharge my phone just a bit more frequently once I started using my Tile. Second, the Tile Mate has a non-replaceable battery; it’s rated for 3 years which means you get a lot of use per year for your dollar, but eventually these will find their way into the landfill—the pricier Pro models have a replaceable battery that should give you about 1 year of operation. Finally, there’s just no getting around it—if you drink the Tile Kool-Aid, you are opening up your location, movements, and probably many other behavioral indicators and data to be scrutinized by the digital overlords at Tile (and whomever else they work with). Those issues aside (and risks noted), I was personally so impressed with what the Tile Mate did for me--in terms of reducing my blood pressure and exasperation as I no longer had to franticly go spelunking around the house or my car to find another wayward bit of my personal belongings--that I ultimately bought two Tile slims and an extra Tile Mate for my wallet, checkbook, and our second set of vehicle keys. That’s about as glowing a recommendation as I can make. If you spend far too much time darting about and cursing under your breath while trying to track down your lost keys, the Tile is a quick, easy, relatively powerful, and certainly economical way to save you a ton of grief.

The Tile by Life360 Mate is an amazingly easy and useful product! I’m seriously thinking this would make a great gift for almost anyone. The applications seem endless, I’ve heard of people keeping track of their pets, and of course your keys, maybe your kids’ backpack, and then the bonus of being able to find your phone! It feels like a no-brainer! Download the Tile app to your phone, create a username and password and then prepare to sync up! I was pleasantly surprised with the ease of setting this up. Two clicks on the tile finds your phone and will cause it to ring – even if your phone is on silent, brilliant! For my kid who constantly is looking for her phone – or her keys – this is a game changer – no more asking (or blaming) me. There’s an additional feature with the Life360, for a subscription with a monthly fee, that you can use to contact people in your circle – in case of emergencies. I can see where this would be a very useful feature and bring some peace of mind. Overall, the price point feels pretty good for what you get, and a much better option than having to not find your phone or your key fob. 100% recommend this product.

I received the Tile by Life360 Tile Mate Life360 Bluetooth tracker about a week ago. I thought this would be great for me as I'm a Senior and constantly trying to find #1 glasses, #2 phone, and #3 keys. This is my daily struggle trying to get out of the house! Although I do have designated places for all three, they somehow find themselves elsewhere. I am very familiar with the Tile brand as I have an older Fitbit with Tile, and a Dell Pen with Tile. Setup was very easy, as I already had the app downloaded. I opened the Tile app and it detected the Life360 Tile Mate. I then attached the Life360 Tile Mate to my keys. I chose to put the Life360 Tile Mate on my keys so I could use it to find my phone, and use the app on my phone to find my keys! Two taps on the Life360 Tile Mate will ring my phone even if it's on silent. I did not have the Life360 app however, I was prompted to download. I connected my Tile account with the Life360 account. I can now manage and find all 3 of my Tile devices. You can also setup SOS button when you feel unsafe. The SOS button is activated when you hold down the button, it then sends a silent alert to your Life360 circle. Tile Life30 Tile Mate is called the everything tracker. You can use it almost anywhere. It is water resistant, and has a 3 year non-replaceable battery. (Hence 4star rating) Highly recommend.

This is a quality tracker that works with iOS and Android. It's way better than I expected it to be. And it works just as good as the Apple air tag. It can find items offline, but not as timely, versus if your phone was in range of the item, it finds it quick. And you do get an exact location.

Nice product and works on my phone. The battery can't be changed put or recharge so you'll have to buy a new one and reprogram the new one once the battery dies. Says it a 3 year life. We'll see.

I bought this gor my sister for Christmas. It is hard to find a tracker for someone who doesn’t have an iPhone. This is it for those people. It connects seamlessly and it works great!! It is a good buy.

The Tile is great the only reason that i didnt give it 5 stars is due to not being real time tracking or speeds. It does what i need it to do and since i know the limitations of its use i will buy one again.
