As the latest chapter of the Splinter Cell saga, Blacklist comes in full power. It has solid gameplay, gripping story, and a great cast. Although they recast Michael Ironsides as Sam, the new guy sounds just like him minus his gruff attitude. It actually fits a lot more with the visual change they did with Sam since the last game. I also like the fact that you can earn in game cash through the free Spiderbot app they released along side it for phones. There really isn't much to complain about this game at all. The side missions are very challenging and will most likely kill you more often than not, but the good thing is that no matter what, if you lose a side mission or quit a main mission (which you can do now if you start getting overwhelmed), you just go back to your flying HQ and still keep all money you earned during that mission. Very useful if you need to save up money for upgrades.

Excellent game and its difficult even on the normal level. Moving up in levels should allow for longer gameplay. Havent done co-op yet.

Best Splinter Cell Ever?

I've been playing Splinter Cell games since they first came out and have always been a big fan. The only one I didn't love was Double Agent on 360, although Double Agent on original Xbox was good. Anyway... Blacklist is great. Best SC game? Hard to say, it's a great series. BUT, it has consumed all of my free time since launch and I love it. The co-op is great when I can find a friend to play with. The match-making for co-op is predictably hit or miss. The multiplayer (Spys v Mercs) is good, but it's not really my cup of tea - maybe if I had 3 other people I knew who I could play with I'd enjoy it, but with 3 random XBL people it just doesn't do it for me. SO, I go back to single player or co-op and love it.
All of that said, I'm sad that the Brigg's missions REQUIRE co-op because I'd prefer to play with friends, but it's hard to coordinate with friends and they are great missions that I CANNOT replay without a partner. I've played them with randoms, and it was hit or miss. When you find somebody good who doesn't drop out mid mission and who knows how to play, it's fun.
Over all, I'd give it 9/10. The only extra point is the missions I cannot play (Briggs) without some serious coordination or patience with finding an XBL player who is fun to play with. Great story, controls. graphics, gameplay, everything. Get this game if you have any inclination toward stealth games. THEN, get Hitman Absolution, another amazing stealth game.

Splinter Cell: Blacklist is a total improvement and successor to Double Agent and Conviction. Despite Conviction being a great action-packed game, Blacklist is far more exciting and lives up to its name. The action is solid, the audio on my Xbox 360 is very sharp, the gameplay is very straight forward and astonishing because of how action-packed it is, and their separate challenges on another mode is spectacular. On other modes, instead of going through a storyline, you really get to test your silent killing skills and how you deal with your enemies. Overall, I believe that if Ubisoft keeps making Splinter Cell, I bet it will keep getting better and better. I really recommend this game to those who first of all, likes the Splinter Cell games, for people who likes shooters, and furthermore, being somewhat patient in really wanting to accurately killing their enemies silently.

Always loved Splinter Cell games, great gameplay, stories decent, mutiplayers fun, and all that's great but I still can't get over the new voice actor! It just doesn't sound like Sam Fisher to me.

Some old and new elements blend together for one of the best Splinter Cell games yet. A home base that reminds me of Mass Effect's spaceship, allows you to choose missions, setup load-outs and upgrades, and interact with your team. Some of the side missions can be rough without any checkpoints in them, especially if you're a perfectionist. Most of the game lets you choose how you play; stealth or action or both. Very fun time and lots to do.

If you're like me the new voice actor just doesn't cut it like Michael Ironside did with his baritone voice. Other than that, the gameplay is exactly what you would expect from the previous Splinter Cell games. Unlike Conviction, the game now has currency and you can but more upgrades for your weapons and outfit. Great game and the storyline has not disappointed thus far. I'm over 50% completed so far.

This is a great addition to the Splinter Cell story. It's a smooth flowing story that lets the side missions tie into the main story missions in a way that doesn't disrupt it. All in all a very good game that does have replay value multiple times due to the different ways you can acomplish each mission.

Latest Splinter Cell makes all the others look like a warmup to this. Great storyline, super fun gameplay. Cool new gadgets. Simply the most fun game of the year, especially after the dissappointment of Bioshock Infinite. Can't wait to fully dig into the coop maps. Even bought a copy for my friend.

Although it was a departure from the normal Splinter Cell games, I loved being able to take different approaches at a mission without being confined to strict no kill, no being discovered rules. Sure you still have those types of missions but there's something pleasing about the panther style of play. My only complaint is that the story itself felt rushed, not enough time to really get into it or enjoy it.

Splinter Cell is a very fun game. The game is a realistic spy game made for gamers who like to play espionage style games. The multiplayer missions are a blast if you have a friend you like to play with. The dlc adds more content for longer replay value.

(Campaign): The overall storyline feels very "Call of Duty-esque" wherein it involves you chasing a terrorist around the globe who basically just wants to burn everything to the ground. There's nothing very original about it, but yet you'll still find yourself completely immersed in it. It will seem like a grind to start out and you may think that you'll only complete about 3 or 4 missions and just say "the heck with it," but the second half of the campaign is where the game really hits its stride. A combination of great environments and some challenging gameplay situations all lead up to an ending that is fun, nerve-racking, and all around fantastic. Combine that with a multitude of Optional Missions you can do on the side and you'll be spending quite alot of time sneaking around. There is one downside that stuck out to me however. Prior to the game releasing, the developers at Ubisoft spent alot of time making sure the fans knew that there were 3 playstyles that players could use to complete missions. These playstyles were the Assault, Panther, and Ghost. The Assault playstyle was all about players running into a mission with guns blazing, similar to what we see from most modern shooters these days and you could tell that this was an attempt by Ubisoft to make this game seem more accessible to a wider first-person shooter audience. An audience that spends most of its time these days running and gunning on games like Call of Duty and Battlefield. The Panther was all about stealth kills. Sticking to the shadows, using silenced pistols and assassinations to slowly pick off your enemies one by one. This is the traditional Splinter Cell playstyle. Lastly, there is the Ghost which was focused on avoiding your enemy and using Sam Fishers ability to climb and traverse multiple objects to remain out of sight and out of mind for much of the mission. Many might see this as boring, but it rewards you well as this playstyle grants you the most experience points. Now, as I said before, Ubisoft wanted to make it clear that you could play any of these playstyles consistently and efficiently throughout the game, but for me, they didn't quite deliver. The typical tactical shooter Panther and Ghost playstyles were all fine and dandy, but when you wanted to "empty the mag" and rain bullets down on people, it usually ended with you resetting from the previous checkpoint. You attract too much attention which draws in reinforcements and more times than not would culminate in your death. Not to mention, in some missions you aren't even allowed to be detected or else you have to restart which completely eliminates any possibility of you playing the Assault playstyle at all. It was a failed attempt in my opinion by Ubisoft to introduce a new way to play Splinter Cell. Overall though, this was a minor inconvenience as you will find yourself sneaking around most of the time anyway, enjoying what turned out to be a great campaign.
(Multiplayer): There isn't much to say about the Blacklist multiplayer except FANTASTIC! The return of Spies vs Mercs was a huge success in my eyes. Whether you're playing the classic 2v2 Spies vs Mercs, the upgraded 4v4 Spies vs Mercs Blacklist mode, or one of the other various gametypes, the multiplayer in general gives you a great variety of playstyles and playing a tactical shooter is a nice break from the traditional shooters of the current generation. Nothing seems overpowered. The Mercs are heavily armored and deal alot of damage, but their low mobility offers up a huge advantage when being flanked. The Spies are light, fast, agile and can still traverse ledges and perform assassinations, but get caught out in the open with an enemy sighting in on you and you're done for. Overall, of the best multiplayer arenas I have experienced in a while.
All in all, Splinter Cell Blacklist is a fantastic game that I would recommend to the hardcore Splinter Cell fan or someone who is new tactical shooters.

Splinter cell is a mixed bag for me. Overall it's a great game but Sam Fisher IS Michael Ironside. It just doesn't feel right with the new voice. Plus the new voice actor doing Sam seems bored 90% of the time. Gameplay is great like always and the missions can be VERY challenging but this causes replayablity as you won't blow through every mission willy nilly. Graphics are great especially if you download the graphics pack (free).
On the multiplayer side it's fun and allows you to level up ala COD however the matchmaking system quite frankly stinks as you can be pitted against high level players as a beginner and are easily outmatched because they have all the good gear.
Overall I'd give it a 9/10.
