As an avid review hunter, lemme tell you, get this thing if you can. We really love this! It took a lot of time to find a TV that had good reviews, was the right size, and wasn't astronomically priced (granted, we got this one on sale for $419 instead of $479). Either way, if I'd known how great it is, I think we would have flexed the extra $60. It was really straight forward to set up, it has all the apps that I want available to download (was happy to see tubi there!) and the picture quality is excellent. You can put your amazon account on it if you have one! I actually like the home screen default, like it doesn't default to the cable. It displays all of your apps and inputs.
And! I can't think of anything else useful to share about why it's nice! It's just great!
So basically, we love it! I will say, really check the styrofoam in the box for your remote because we really could not find it for 30 min and nothing in the set-up manual said it was in the styrofoam lol it was in a little crevice, so make sure you check the box thoroughly!

This Toshiba is really a 5 Star for this price. The 1 complaint is simple; Roku was the first & all these others come along and try to match the ease and quality of Roku. The speakers are good, the picture is great. We do not game on our TV's. Below are 2 pictures of the Toshiba ~ 1 with Smart Fire and 1 with Roku 4K+ with Alexa. This set included a free Alexa Dot so the Roku 4K+ with Alexa is the PERFECT match. All 3 of our 55 inch class TV's are wall mounted with PERLESMITH Articulating/Full motion/Swivel/Tilt/Wide rotation/19.6" Extension devices which are, by far, the best on the market. Also the Toshiba remote is small and made of non textured surface which is extremely difficult to hold on to. All 3 Roku remotes (3 TV's) have a non smooth surface. Again this is a 5 Star TV - we found it very easy to add Roku to the Smart Fire OS the same as we did on our Samsung Tizen OS, our TCL already had Roku. We have had Roku for years on our non smart TV's - for us it's still the best having all the features on 1 menu. Our pay channels Prime, Sling Blue, disney+, discovery+, along with all the free stuff Roku gives... LOVE new Tech ! ! BTW complete set up including wall mount & Roku is less than 30 minutes. (and I'm retired)!

For the price, there are no complaints. We use this for cable TV as well as all our streaming services.
Bargain priced means you get what you pay for. Some of the apps load rather slowly, but once its up and running, no issues with performance.
Turning on the TV, it is also somewhat slow to get up and running. Sometimes in the ballpark of say, 30-seconds.
The picture itself is great. Its not super thin OLED screens or 8K, but considering most of the content we watch are just 1080p or 4K at most, this fits the bill perfectly.
Audio performance is ok. The sound isn't very "full", but if you have a soundbar or other speakers, you can easily fix that problem. I'm no audiophile so its fine by me. My wife often says I turn the TV on too loud as it is.
We also bought a smaller version of this same TV for our backyard. It doesn't handle bright light too well, showing up as glare. Our TV is angled downward in a covered patio, so its not too much glare, but it is noticeable.

Got this to replace an LG 60 inch I had to downsize just a bit. My previous TV was 4K but didn't look the best on gaming. I got this expecting just a bit better results and wow I was really surprised. Playing my ps4 on it is crisp and the response time is pretty snappy compared to my old TV. Honestly then to have the fire TV is just a plus. I would honestly recommend the TV to anyone. The sound is pretty decent. It's no deal breaker but loud enough to fill up a living room if you really crank it. Aside from that the picture is beautiful!

Toshiba 55" tv - easy set up, great picture, good price. The extra bonus was the free Echo Dot with purchase.
The only negative i have, is that Toshiba did not include the 4 mounting screws for a wall mount. That is frustrating, because my previous tv had a completely different size screw, so i could not use them. For now, i had to install the stand feet and set it on a console, while i order and wait for a set of 4 simple M6 screws and spacers. I cannot understand why Toshiba chose to not include the screws, for what, a dollar? Otherwise, the tv is good.

Great TV even at $400+, though the price has dropped significantly in the past. Some people have described interlacing issues when using cable boxes through HDMI, so definitely do more research if you'll be using one. I only use it for streaming and gaming and it works great for that. Here are some thoughts as a first time 4K and Smart TV owner after using it for a week.
Display: Colors are vibrant and the picture is sharp. 1080p content gets automatically upscaled and looks way better than on my 27" 1080p monitor. I definitely see 2160p mode running (e.g. on Youtube), not sure why some people say they are seeing only 2160i. Compared to the high end 4K TVs however, there are some compromises like significant gradient color banding and poor grey uniformity (patchy effect when a large portion of the screen has a single color). The banding issue is most noticeable on splash screens, dark areas of videos and when projecting a PC screen. For the price, I think these issues are acceptable.
Remote: I've never really liked Smart Assistants because I just prefer using my phone/laptop to manually do everything. But Alexa on the TV remote is a great addition and it makes searching for things or opening apps much quicker than using the arrow keys. I like that it only activates the microphone when you press the button on the remote. Very impressed by the remote to be honest.
Smart Features: Pretty much all the apps you expect from a modern smart TV. I like that the OS is not locked down like Roku and some other platforms, so you can sideload and run pretty much any Android app.
One down side of being an integrated smart TV is that as the OS and applications get more CPU intensive with updates, performance will likely start to go down over the years. There's no way to swap out the hardware like you can with a discrete Fire stick, so I expect that the built-in smart UI will be unusable in 3-4 years. I wish they had chosen a faster processor to be honest - there are some stutters when browsing the menu because it can't keep up with loading images and other content. But eventually you can always attach an external smart device and have it switch to that automatically on startup.
Gaming: I tried my Nintendo Switch and had a good experience. I had to change the picture setting to Game mode to get the lowest possible latency, it was pretty much unplayable on the default mode. I'm glad I chose this TV over the Insignia because the Game mode on this one is much better.
Sound: Built-in speakers get loud and are bass-heavy. The TV supports Bluetooth headphones which is great because my room has terrible acoustics. There is of course some audio delay when using Bluetooth audio. Some apps like Youtube are able to compensate automatically. The system settings popup also has an option to advance the audio by up to 200 milliseconds to help compensate for the Buetooth delay. However I still suffered from some audio delay when using most apps or when gaming using my Bluetooth headphones. Perhaps more expensive headphones could fix that - mine are $20 no-name ones.
Overall, my impressions are very positive. I'm looking forward to enjoying this TV and would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a TV in the <=$400 range.

Great price on a big (55-in.), fantastic TV. Easy setup, though the Fire TV operating system takes some getting used to. Picture and sound both very good. It’s wall-mounted in our screen porch so we can watch movies “outdoors” at night. Sound and brightness could be an issue but so far, so good.

The Toshiba 55 inch is a decent TV if you’re going to use it exclusively for streaming; however, if you plan on connecting it to a cable box or other apparatus using an HDMI cable, the picture transmission is terrible. There are annoying horizontal lines running through the display. I read through the reviews, and apparently it’s not an uncommon problem. We tried switching inputs and using different cables with some success, but it’s so aggravating because it’s only a temporary fix.
After a few setting adjustments, the picture was terrific while streaming movies. It worked great with my favorite subscriptions (HBO Max, Netflix, Prime, Hulu, ESPN, Disney+, and Discovery+). It does catch quite a bit of glare from natural light, so proper placement is key. Sound quality is excellent, so there’s no need for a sound bar. The 55 inch may not be suitable for larger spaces; however, it’s perfect for a bedroom or small office. The display mirroring is not compatible with iOS or MacOS; however, certain versions of Android are. There are far better TVs out there, and it’s worth spending an extra $100 on one that is completely functional.

I really like the TV. Picture is very clear. Took me a little time to get use to it, almost looked 3D. Same with sound, picks up all sounds. I got Netflix and at the time had to have antenna for channel 6 while Dish worked out a plan with Nexstar. I have a horizontal line that goes through the TV, sometimes it divides a part of the picture like splitting the head, is not a constant. It only does it on Dish channels so I assumed a Dish problem so I called them. After testing I was told Dish can't handle the TV. So they told me to call Toshiba giving me a number which after calling doesn't handle newer model TV's. So, I don't know what to do, it can't be the TV because it works great on Netflix and antenna, just Dish is bad.

I love this TV and there's nothing "wrong" with it. But my biggest issue is that we have two in our game room hooked up to our ps5s and the power button on both remotes controls both TV. Volume and all other buttons control the one TV they're supposed to buy the power will shut off or turn on both. Kind of annoying when your spouse shuts off your TV mid-game on accident. So far nothing has fixed it.

Picked up this set with one of the main reasons being the FireTV features. The interface was far better than ANY other brand of smart TV. Controls for adding soundbar were excellent, streaming was fantastic, and colors in all types of programming was crisp and popped out as exceptional.
Cons: well, 16 months into owning the set, we turned it on to find nothing but a rainbow of vertical lines. Talking to Geek Squad online and in store , they were willing to send to Atlanta to diagnose problem and determine either fix or throw away. Told it would take 3 weeks. Since the issue was also reported by other consumers in their reviews. So i insisted on a credit as I ALWAYS BUY THE EXTENDED WARRANTY.
The customer service given by the store management team as well as Geek Squad were exceptional. It's not their problem , but rather a continuing problem with manufacturers producing sub-par components. Toshiba, LG, Samsung, Insignia, just have not produced a reliable brand that will last a paltry 2 yrs.
