Overall this VHS/DVD recorder is a pretty good piece of equipment in it's price range. This recorder does what it's supposed to do and has, so far, been reliable. My only criticism would be about the "dubbing" feature; it's a litlle more complicated process than it needs to be....this should be a "one step" process. It would be hard to find a machine with these same features without spending a lot more money.

Unpacked this and right out of the box I was able to immediately start dubbing vhs tapes to dvd. Worked without a hitch....so much so I was sure there was more to it. The one button dub feature is priceless for people like myself. If you need to move VHS to DVD then this makes so much more sense than having a service do it for you... well worth the money.

Easy to hook-up great picture, hand held Control easy to read.

One of the only dvd/vcr recorders still available for a good price that I was able to find. Hooks up easily with just the av input cords. It can copy from vcr to dvd and also record from your tv/dvr to dvd or video. Great price and had all the features I wanted.

I basically bought an exact replacement for this same player (earlier generation). When my component TV went down, I replaced it with a multi-port HDMI TV. I couldn't use all my component pieces, so I bought this one. I also still have tons of VHS tapes and DVD's, from my dad's collection. I watch them all, and I have transferred many home videos on this recorder. It records from VHS, VHS-C, and you can also connect your home video cameras to capture your Hi-8 videos. All functions are simple. Great buy.

My sons bought this gift for their Mom for Mother's Day to replace an older model that had stopped working. She was very surprised and very happy to recieve it as she has many tapes as well as DVDs to play. She really loves it!

I was looking for a unit that was basic (it really is needed only for the playing of DVDs, CDs, and VHS tapes) yet at the same time, of high quality. Having done some preliminary online reading of product reviews (and having been happy with other Toshiba products I've owned), I was delighted to find this --- and it has suited me to a "T".

I bought this product to help out a friend. Because of it I was able to transfer 8mm and vhs tapes with no problem. Which meant my friend can finally watch her videos that's been in a box for over 10 years.

I needed to convert my VHS to DVD this works like a charm. It plays the VHS tapes and it also plays DVD's. The dubbing process is easy to use also.

The instructions are typical tech talk. I couldn't get it to work until I went to a forum and lots of others were having the same problem. Nothing wrong with the instructions but just a little confusing. With that help we were on track and I'm half way through 38 years of memories. Thanks for having this product.

I did not intend to purchase this item because I was mostly looking for a receiver. But this caught my eye, because I have hundreds of VHS tapes, even personal recordings from the ol' VHS camcorders, and need to archive them on DVD's. So this seemed like the perfect item for that . So far no problems.

My wife says it's easy to operate. That's very good because she really doesn't care about the technology . . . just wants it to work well. It does work well and was an easy hookup. The quality I see justifies the price.

A good machine for converting your old movies from VHS to DVD format. The set up and operation are very easy. The price could be better, though. Also is able to record from your TV to DVD format. Overall, a good machine that does all it is advertised to do with ease.

Overall this product is everything you need to record and play your favorite movies. The one thing that I have to say is the remote is a little to hard to read because of the size of the writing.

I needed to replace my old DVD player and read the reviews on this unit. I wanted one with online streaming and am very satisfied with the product. Very simple setup and easy connection. I like the small profile also.

Directions not as clear as other products. Took some time to master the machine, but it works well.

I have only used it once but it was easy to use. It was also easy to set up.
