My Toshiba laptop was on its last leg so I bought an HP for around $300. Big mistake. It didn't get WiFi and it had a bunch of other problems. I went back and the salesman convinced to buy this Toshiba.
I was willing to pay more for a computer that works, and I wasn't disappointed!
It's fast, versatile (touch screen or keyboard, can bend the screen backwards, etc). it has a lighted keyboard and great screen resolution. Lesson learned: if you have a brand that works for you, stick with it!

I haven't purchased a laptop in quite some time so this was a huge upgrade for me! I love the features - touchscreen especially since my old laptop had a "roller" for scrolling thru pages built in to the touchpad and this one does not. It makes it easier when I have the laptop on my lap and can't use a mouse easily. I also feel like the price is pretty good for getting an i7 processor and the 8 GB RAM. Probably don't need 1 TB memory but it doesn't hurt!! Overall, I pretty much love this thing. Oh, and I know some people have had the flashing screen issue, so did I, but all you need to do is update the graphics driver (I think that's what it's called) and it fixed it for me!

Easy to use and lots of storage. The back-lit keyboard is great. I have used it for home and business and love how easy it is to set up for presentations. I wish that developers would make more apps that I use on my android systems available on Windows, that is the biggest draw-back.

I have this laptop over a month, so far no issue. I upgrading from previous Toshiba laptop (I had for 8 years). No problem getting connected to Wifi Very important to do your research. Check the manufacturer website for any know issue with Windows 10. There always going be some know issue with new O/S. As far for the laptop, I like all the features that is provided. Very lightweight, like touchscreen, backlit keyboard, Bluetooth. I am very please with this laptop

After buying HP computers, both laptop and desktop, for over 20 years, after much research, II decided on the Toshiba.
The end result is that I am thrilled with my decision.
It is easy to use, versatile, light and had all the features I have to come to expect in a good laptop with a few newer things..i.e the ability to convert to a tablet, choose touch pad sensitivity, and toggle on/off the touchscreen right on the keypad!
I highly recommend at least considering this product when shopping for a new laptop.

I had a MSI A6200 laptop for about 10 years, so this Toshiba brought me into the 21st century. I researched quite a few computers before finally choosing this one because I knew I was missing out on a faster, lighter, and overall more convenient laptop experience and I am very happy with my upgrade.
In searching for a new computer I knew I wanted something with an i7 processor, USB ports, an HDMI port, good speakers, a big beautiful crisp screen and lots of space (1TB). This laptop fit the bill and also had some bells and whistles that I've dreamed of coming from an archaic laptop like the 2-in-1 Touchscreen and the bright n' lovely backlit keyboard. There not must-haves for everyone, but I ENJOY them and use them on the daily! Especially for playing games in tablet mode and when working in dimly lit areas.
Some features I learned to live without with this Toshiba are an ethernet port, cd/dvd, and an easy access replaceable battery you can just buy and pop-in or out, but there are all sorts of ways to buy and hookup/convert these features if I need them later on.
As far as Windows 10 is concerned, I was used to Windows 7 but didn't really find it difficult to transition. Just dive in, explore it and look around and you'll find it's really not too confusing at all. I've come to like Windows 10 but I am still getting use to the way it upgrades. The first few times it was a little nerve wracking. I've calmed down now, and have learned to just let it do it's thing.
I purchased this laptop about $200 less than its regular price. I am so happy with my choice!
Afterthoughts:
The speakers face away from you in tablet mode so the sound can get a bit muffled if you have it sitting on your lap or on a softer surface, not too bad when facing down on a table though.
The vent is on the back so in tablet mode wherever the vent is facing can get a little warm/hot after a period of time.

Excellent design and configuration. I love this professional looking laptop and the way you can use it like a tablet or a presentation tool. It is very light, easy to carry and easy to clean. The tablet is very quiet and doesn't make loud fan noise. It's very interesting that it doesn't get hot when you have it on your lap and work. The power adapter is so tiny and light comparing to other laptops heavy and bulky power adaptor.

I give this computer 3 stars because at first it was really fast and responsive, but now is just average and it has only been a month. I don't do any serious gaming and I only use my computer a few times a week. There is an issue that keeps happening where a pop up comes out on the lower right end of my screen and says "display HD graphics driver has stopped working and recovered" and it will do that very very often. recently it did this like ten times non stop until I finally got a blue screen that said "we have encountered some errors and need to restart :(" since I'm new to computers, I don't know if it's the computer itself or Windows, so I'll give it 4 stars for being generally reliable and because the screen doing he 360 thing is really great But otherwise it was way too expensive to be like this.

Great computer overall considering it was only about $800. It does have some negatives though. It has HDMI failures a lot when switching between laptop/tablet mode. Secondly, only a few hours after I first turned it on, it said it failed to start and I had to wait a long time for it to reboot. It has done that several times since then. Other than that, good graphics, good sound, good processor, and is perfect for school.

Overall this is a great machine. I had another good Toshiba for many years and the Black Friday special on this one was irresistible. It's fast, yet runs incredibly quiet and cool--many times cooler than my old HP Core i5, even after upgrading to a solid-state drive! It's very versatile and I can always find a comfortable way to use it at a table, on the couch, wherever. This thing was optimized for the touch screen I guess, because the touchpad is troublesome. Maybe it's just a learning curve as I only have about 10-20hrs of use so far, but it frustrates me every time with accidental window openings and closing, accidental zooming, etc. Sometimes the Windows change so fast I can't even figure out what I just did, but at least I can usually just touch and drag or zoom back the Windows where I want them. The pop up keyboard works very good in tablet mode, but the buttons are oddly placed to me when trying to switch from letters to characters and that's taking some getting used to. Touchscreen is very accurate and responsive. And bright! The sound and video are impressive. Battery life is very good. I was taking an online class with audio for about 2 hours and the system popular notified me I had about 4.5 hrs remaining. The backlight keys are a nice touch and work well. I paid way less than the 799 sticker price but even that is a decent deal if you can't find this model on sale.

I really wanted a laptop to fit all of my needs and this one certainly does. The only issue I have had at all with it was I had a screen flashing problem (screen would go black for 1-2 seconds and then come back and a recovery message would pop up). Turns out all I had to do was update my graphics driver. It's been a dream ever since! I love that I can scroll down a page by swiping the screen. Makes not having an actual mouse way better! I seriously love this thing!! The numerical keyboard is a major plus for me, too!

Buy this LAP to change my last lap (Toshiba Satellite L855D-S5117). My new lap has a very nice appearance. with its brushed metal finish looks great and I like a lot is to have a backlit keyboard. The thickness of the device makes it very easy to load and take it everywhere. The surround sound and excellent quality. the screen has a resolution fascinating to watch videos and movies. Cons that this time the mouse pad is very sensitive and just want to move objects and change the function and the zoom is activated. The ability to connect to the wireless network is not very good because sometimes I have to restart it or off to find wifi networks. There is my old LAP networks was connected quickly and worked with this new is difficult do you connect to the network and the Internet work.

Overall I love the computer's functionality and versatility. The only thing I have noticed is that is tends to lock up a bit when first turning it on - I have figured out why - I've done all of the Windows updates and it's still happening.
But other than that, very pleased.

This was a purchase for my 10-yr old daughter who needed it for schoolwork, gaming, programming, and video making. It is a beautiful thin yet sturdy piece of equipment that has a suprisingly superior sound quality compared to most laptops I have heard. The price was great and compared to those in the 1,000 dollar range storage and speed laptops. It is super helpful to be able to use it in tent mode when using as well. She was able to use it for everything needed without any need for setup help from me.

I don't usually write reviews but felt I should start as it seems too many people only write reviews when they are unsatisfied. This laptop performs well. I wanted something with an i7 processor, an HDMI port, and a USB 3.0 port. After that it was just a matter of getting the best of the remaining specs I could for the money. I settled on this one. Windows 10, 1 TB HD, touchscreen 2 in 1, bluetooth, and backlit keyboard were all positives. Lack of an ethernet port, dvd burner, an 'easily' replaceable battery, and separate mic in - headphone out ports (versus one combo port, were all specs that could be worked around. I purchased an external bluray burner and a USB 3.0 to ethernet adapter and will just have to live with not being able to pop in a fresh battery if needed. Even though the 1 TB HD was working satisfactorily I swapped it out for a 1 TB SSD for even better performance and will use the old drive to replace the drive that was failing in my old laptop. I may bump up the RAM someday but for now 8 GB seems adequate. There are laptops out there that have everything but for the price I got what I needed with this Toshiba.
