My son adores the Toy Story films and I have to say that even these shorter peripheral films keep hold the same quality. All the voice talent is there and of course the animation is at typical PIXAR standards. The extras are fun, as are the additional shorts that come with the blu-ray. No complaints here! This makes a great gift or addition to the blu-ray library.

A Unique "Snowflake" From Most Christmas Movies

Toy Story That Time Forgot sure ain't like other Christmas classics many of us know and love, but it sure is definitely worth a shot, especially for action/adventure toy lovers, such as Bonnie's friend Mason, who's been given a huge collection of Battlesaurs (AND an Optimum X video game system) for Christmas in this instant holiday classic; in fact it takes place 2 days AFTER Christmas! Luckily, a special Christmas ornament named Angel Kitty reminds us this is a Christmas special, with her words of wisdom, and Trixie tries to set the Battlesaurs' leader Reptillus straight. Too bad they were a lot more delusional than Buzz used to be, thinking they're real warriors; that is until... well, see your yourselves, if you wish! The bonuses are sparse on DVD, just a short documentary & a commentary on the feature program, but the Blu-ray disc has a bunch of 'em, including the opening sequence of the made-up Battlesaurs TV series! Just as Santa Baby is a unique snowflake among Rankin/Bass' own Christmas classics, Toy Story That Time Forgot is the same for Disney's line of animated Christmas classics, only made by Pixar, and it debuted on ABC in December of 2014! If you like to add this to your Pixar collection, OR your holiday classics collection, go right ahead! This and Toy Story of Terror for Halloween, will be truly worth the wait for Toy Story 4 in 2019! "To Infinity And Beyond!" as Buzz would say.

It's just after Christmas. Bonnie has a play date with Mason. She brings along Woody, Buzz Lightyear, Trixie the triceratops, Rex, and Angel Kitty. Mason got a new video game and he has't play with his other new toy, the Battlesaurs. Bonnie's toys meet Reptillus Maximus who is taken with Trixie. The Cleric has set up a gladiatorial world where the other toys are smashed by the Battlesaurs. Trixie explains the joys of play to Reptillus Maximus.
The central message is to play more with imagination and toys, less with the video games. Trixie is the lead in this half hour special. She's alright to lead a special and the message is passable. There are a couple of fun scenes especially when Woody and Buzz are in it. Angel Kitty speaks with a child's voice which caught me off guard. She could be funnier. The show looks good, has some good moments but isn't anything particularly special. It's a reasonable showcase for Trix

Here's the problem with these single short-film sets: Toy Story That Time Forgot is merely okay. Were it bundled with other Toy Story (or even just Disney) shorts, its quality wouldn't matter as much, but you notice the flaws more in such a slender package.

Fantastic, Fun, charming and enjoyable funny short film (approximately 20 minute film) that is great for a simple short visit to the toy story world with out the commitment of a full length film. The sound track was GREAT one of the main reasons I purchased this movie. The 7.1 Master Audio track is for lack of a better word.....WOW. People that dismiss this film as a money maker for Disney and Pixar are correct.....That's why they are in business, to make money. Disney didn't need to put this short film out at all, buy I'm glad they did. So for those of us that are Disney and Pixar fans, and those that take the chance and try this film out will enjoy it for what it really is a fun LITTLE short film about the Toy Story World!

It’s always fun to see “the old gang” get back together. The Toy Story characters have so endeared themselves to our hearts that there is an automatic connection with them every time they appear on screen. In “Toy Story That Time Forgot”, some new blood is introduced.
For a basic plot summary, this little short tells the story of a Christmas playdate at a friend of Bonnie’s. While at the friend’s house, Bonnie is sucked into playing a new videogame instead of playing with the toys. So, Woody, Buzz, and the gang must “go it alone” and interact with a new set of dinosaur toys (led by Reptillus Maximus) that still don’t yet know they are toys.

I am a huge fan of the theatrical Toy Story movies, especially the first two, and I am happy to see additional movies with these characters. Although this movie is good, it is not great when compared with the other Toy Story offerings. The story is not near as good and does not evoke the nostalgic feel for these toys that the theatrical Toy Story movies do. That being said, it is still better than a lot of the animated movies being produced today and will keep the kids entertained.
