    Video Buffering, Gaming Lag....SOLVED

I read a TON of reviews on this and could not be happier. I have 75/mbps internet speeds through Midcontinent Cable. I have a nighthawk dual band router in my main living space (middle level of 3) and have a second nighthawk in my basement setup to work as a repeater. Cellphones/laptops/tablets all work flawlessly on the Wifi. However, my son brings the PS4 downstairs to play and that is also where my theater for streaming movies on Netflix, Vudu and Amazon is at. I have never been able to get more than 10 min of uninterrupted HD video and online gaming was super laggy. So I did multiple internet speed tests using, Midconntinent, Comcast and Verizon of my wifi in the basement. I was getting an avg. of 7/Mbps between all 3 testing sites, 7-10 tests on each site. So I started looking for a solution and came across powerline adapters. The more reviews I read, the better they sounded. So, I figured if they didn't help, I could always return them if they didn't. I got the 500/Mbps cuz it fits my needs, the more expensive ones would have been overkill and a waste of money...again, for my needs. When I received them I plugged them in and ran 7-10 speed tests using the same sites. On avg. I was getting 42/Mbps a HUGE improvement. I sampled a few movies from each of my streaming services and after the initial fuzzy image you get when you first start a movie, it never buffered once and was crystal clear. So I am sold and will prob get another pair so my son and daughter can have wired internet in their bedrooms. Gaming was perfect also. While reading reviews I learned this technology has been around since the 80's and I completely understood I would lose some speed so my results were not a surprise, I just hoped it would solve my issues and it did...perfectly. My house was built in 2002 and the outlets I have the adapters on are NOT part of the same circuit, but ARE on the same breaker box, which prob explains the speed loss too. This is CLEARLY the most cost effective way to fix Wifi dead spots IMO and have told everyone I know about these. I am so glad I tried these!! Hopefully they work for you too.

These adapters are great and very useful if you need to extend your wired and wireless internet. If you have no way to run cat5 cables - this works best! Instructions are pretty easy to follow. Though these are actually extending the wifi range, for me - it was not doing it the way i expected it. Here is why. TP LINK has ability to set password for itself or sync with your house wifi adapter. Having a separate password does not really work well since you constantly have to switch from one to another, depending on which room you are. The "sync" with your home wifi router promises a single password across both of these TP LINKs and your router. But - even though it has a button to sync the password of your wifi router, no matter how much i tried - it did not sync. It just did not work. I dont know why. What that means is - you now have more than one wifi router in your house for which you need to create password. But even though you can create same exact password, there is still a hassle because say downstairs is your real wifi router and upstairs is this TP LINK adapter. When you are downstairs, the wifi strength is better from the real wifi adapter. When you go upstairs, the wifi strength is better off the TP LINK adapter. But that means that you need to *remember* to switch to that wifi or else you will wonder why your wifi is so bad. While for me - i was gonna live with it, - for my kids and wife it was a nightmare and they were always frustrated about forgetting to remember switching for all their devices, as the went from one room to another. When you walk with your phone, ipad/tablet or laptop around your house - you will feel the pain. But if your devices are stationary - then you win with these two adapters a 100%! I guess - what i am saying - these are great adapters but it really depends on your use of wifi and ethernet and your situation at home. But i recommend to give this a try.

Pretty easy to set up, however, remember the same circuit rule. Installed 4 devices but the third would not connect, when it connected the other two did not. Why? Because they were on different electrical circuits. Had to download the TP-Link PLC Utility software (not included) to get the 4th device connected.

I read several reviews and found the TPLink reveiws and the product to be as good as the Netgear and at a cheaper price. This unit works as expected, carries my internet signal from my router via house wiring to my TV and my Roku. I am able to stream 4K video very well, faster than I could via the WiFi signal over the air. It hooked up seamlessly with no help on my part. Plugged in the unit at the router and went to the wall plug at the TV and plugged the unit in and attached 2 cables, one to the Roku and one straight to the TV and it connected on is own. Works good with near 23mbps speed.

Easier to set up than a Wi-Fi range extender/booster, and this actually works not like the other things. I legitimately went from 1mbs to 18mbs in my back bedroom aka the deadzone. It's literally plug and play, plug them in hit button to sync then play. Best purchase I've ever made. 10/10

I needed to connect a few TVs to the Internet so I did some research and found these 2 powerline adapters with AC outlets on the outside (very important as powerlines need DIRECT access to electrca outlet). I get a decent throughput rate, hi 90s to 100mbps.

Simple Internet over your power circuits

Simple to set up. Plugged one device in the wall outlet near the cable modem. Ran a cat 5e cable from the modem to the device. Placed the sister device in the outlet in the room where we were getting poor wireless (on a separate power circuit and it still worked). Ran two cat 5e patch cables from the sister device to our PS4s and no more lag. This is a perfect solution for us. We were getting decent speed on wireless but our neighborhood is saturated with wireless signals which led to many lag spikes. You can't PwN nOoBs in that environment. We've been using these little devices for about 8 days now and we play A LOT of online games and couldn't be happier. We didn't use the secure wireless AC as in our circumstance it's not needed and would likely just cause more wireless signal noise so I don't know how well that feature works.

Instead of having to run ethernet cables all over the place, this powerline adapter does the job by plugging them in the power outlets. Very happy with this product!.
