Best wifi 7 usb antenna you can get, tplink just released an update today 4/30/25 that gives you true wifi 7 speeds, without this update, you would be stuck at wifi 6 speeds,Computer is about 30ft from router with 2 walls in between , speeds are pretty much 1000 mbps download and 1000mbps upload , Before today's 4/30/25 tplink update of the be6500 Usb Adapter ,My PC was getting 330mbps download and 280mbps upload

This is one of the few WiFi 7 USB adapters available on the market at this time, and it only seems to be available at Best Buy. Most people probably don't need to be investing in the technology just yet, but it is very exciting stuff nonetheless. I'm essentially saturating my 1Gbps fiber Internet and 1Gbps wired network with this adapter. In simpler terms, that means I'm downloading Steam games at just over 100 Megabytes per second. This adapter comes with the driver installed on the adapter, and you can also download it from the TP-Link support page. The device presents the driver to your computer as a virtual CD-ROM drive. You run the executable, click next a couple times, and you're done. If you have difficulty with WiFi connectivity, make sure your WiFi access point (or router) is set to WPA3 security. You'll likely also want to turn on transition mode so that your access point is still compatible with WPA2 security. Perhaps your router will call this WPA3/WPA2. I'm pairing this adapter with Zyxel BE11000 access points which are an excellent value to deploy WiFi 7. Make sure you plug this adapter into a USB 3.0 port or higher. The data rate is so fast that using USB 2.0 will be a bottleneck and slow down your connection. Do not buy this if you do not have Gigabit-speed home Internet or don't have plans to move large files around your local network. This is so fast that you should understand the benefit before buying. I would also say that if your computer already has WiFi 6E with 6Ghz band capability, I'm not sure this is going to do much for you. However, it's an excellent upgrade for someone with fast Internet and a client device that only supports WiFi 6 or 5/5E. I went from 300Mbps to 900Mbps when I run a speed test. For many or most people, you may just want to wait until your laptop or next motherboard includes WiFi 7 included in the box. If you have a larger ATX motherboard, you may prefer a PCIe WiFi card instead. For me, it would have been a big expense to replace my motherboard, processor, and RAM just to get WiFi 7, and I have no PCIe expansion slots, so this was a great fit for my needs.

I recently upgraded to Xfinity Gigabit x2, but refused to be bound to their xFi Gateway. I hooked up an Arris SURFboard S34 to an Asus BE3600 router, a combo that doesn't break the bank. My initial speed tests were kind of disappointing, but then I reboot my computer and gave the adapter time to get "settled in" with my router. I don't know if there's a special handshake or something, but it worked! For the first time ever in my life I got a download speed of >1Gbps from the Internet over a wireless connection!! I'd be lying if I said all my speed test attempts break the 1Gbps barrier, but most come pretty close! My very first test came it at 300Mbps... so was about to toss the thing. I guess the reboot was important....

TP-Link - BE6500 is an excellent wifi-7 compatible adapter with faster download / upload speeds. I was using a older adapter of Netgear and was getting around 250 / 300 MBPS download / upload speeds. With BE6500, I am getting 450 / 550 MBPS. Connections are solid and never get disconnected. Only thing is the documentation. First you need to download the software for this adapter using existing wifi and then connect this adapter and run the software. It is a bit expensive but worth the experience.

Compared to the netgear 6e adapter (a8000), this gets over double the speed when connected to MLO (wifi 7). I was skeptical but definitely worth the extra cost if performance is important.

A few things to consider. Performance enhancements will mostly only show if you are using a Wi-Fi 7 router. Also consider the band you are connected to and the received signal. If you are on the outer limits of the signal try moving closer to see if that improves the signal. Additionally make sure you are using the official driver, instead of a windows default driver. Surprised this adapter at this price does not come with the driver for Mac. The Wi-Fi protocol is showing Wi-Fi 6 in Windows 11, not Wi-Fi 7.

      Hello ColdWall,

Thank you for your review. As of macOS 10.15.4 (released in March 2020), Apple began phasing out kernel extension support. Kernel extensions are required for Wi-Fi adapters and their drivers to function. As a result, driver development for third-party hardware, such as Wi-Fi adapters, has been effectively blocked by macOS in subsequent OS updates.

We suggest visiting our official website for full compatibility and driver details if you have any questions about compatibility with your system. We also recommend contacting Apple to determine what options are available to you while you are using their proprietary software and hardware.

This item was not compatible with my router or extenders. I came to best buy because I wanted advice on what to buy. I had to make a 45 minute trip to return it for credit. Why should I travel to get bad advice and inconvenient service.

      Hello Kumar,

802.11BE support is dependent on your router and if BE is enabled on the router. Please make sure that you have it enabled on the wireless settings of your router and then that you connect to the band it is enabled on. If you have done this then we would need to troubleshoot with you. Please reach out to support at 866-225-8139 or [email protected] at your leisure. Support is available for free and 24 hours a day. Support can help so please reach out.
