Getting the chance to review this TP-Link Deco X4300 Pro system was perfect timing for me. Just a few weeks ago, we had 2.5gbps fiber installed at our home. Previously, I was using an 'enterprise grade' ceiling mounted access point and I found the AX performance of the ISP's supplied router to be a big boost in speed but with limited range. The Deco X4300 set meets my needs almost perfectly since it offers 2.5gbps ethernet for backhaul and incredible speeds. Out of the box, the X4300 Pro devices are great looking and easy to set up. I find the design blends into home decor pretty well - it almost looks like a white candle holder from the front and sides. I downloaded the Deco app for my android phone and had the first node up and running within a few minutes. The only thing that I think that could be a little confusing is that the app tells you to turn off your current wifi router. I chose to leave my router on and just use a different network name for the Deco network to start off. The default mode for the Deco system is to function as a router for your network, supplying DHCP and firewall protection. I chose to change them to Access Point mode due to the limitations of my fiber provider's gateway. For the non-tech savvy, leaving the Deco mesh network in router mode is probably the right choice and is seriously ready to go in less than 5 minutes. Basically, this mesh kit can work for a few different levels of geek. Once you get the first node going, all you have to do for the next 2 devices is plug them in. They find the primary node on their own! It's really amazing! I have a 2.5gbps switch for my home so I chose to use the wired backhaul capability for my network for maximum speed, but the ease of setup was the exact same in wired or wireless mode. One caveat - with one of my mesh devices, it would not sync with the primary node right off the bat and had to be power cycled once to get it to connect up. I don't know if this is because it got confused being plugged into the wired network first or not. It worked immediately after unplugging and replugging it, so I'm not going to gripe much about that since the level of effort was almost zero. Performance wise - simply, wow. I have a few AX capable devices, and I am regularly seeing >1gbps speeds with this system. See the attached screen snip from Steam the other day - 147.6 MBps (1180mbps)peak! ON WIFI! Downloads have consistenly been near that level, staying between 900 and 1100 mbps most of the time. Upload is usually even higher, hitting 1500mbps with both my phone (S22 Ultra) and my laptop which has an AX card. Uploading videos to Youtube for family sharing is kind of shocking how little of a 'chore' it is now. Likewise, coverage is great and I am not having any roaming issues even without fast roaming turned on. Our home is not huge but we defnitely 'need' two of the nodes, and adding the third in a sort of triangle pattern inside the house gives us great coverage in our garage and on our deck. Well done to TP link for knocking it out of the park with this one. I'm sure with more providers launching >2gbps fiber this will be a hot product in the market. Definitely recommended.

This router is fast and relatively easy to set up. Would give it five stars except for one caveat and it only applies if you utilize wireless Verizon Fios TV One mini boxes. These boxes can only connect to a Fios wireless modem/router and require a lot of bandwidth. When I originally set up the Deco system, I plugged the Ethernet directly into my Fios Modem which then caused the TV to cut in and out as the deco overtook took much bandwidth from my original fios network. I researched and called Verizon and couldn’t find a solution for this. I then problem solved and connected the Deco directly to the fios wall unit in my basement which brings fios into the house via Ethernet. I then connected my fios modem via Coax cable alone. Somehow, this work around has made the TV and the deco wifi network work perfectly. Anyways, aside from the lack of clarity in setting this up with Verizon Fios, I am impressed with this system. It is great for our long narrow house and offers better wifi coverage/speed than we have ever experienced before!

I had some issues with my current WiFi mesh product, so I was interested in trying the DECO AX4300 HOME MESH WI-FI 6 SYSTEM. I followed the instructions to download the app and use it to set up the DECO mesh system. The set up was quick and easy. All I had to do was plug in the base unit, connect it to my router, and follow the app instructions. The longest delays occurred when the firmware was upgrading, about 2 minutes each (each device must upgrade separately). The app is fairly intuitive. It can be annoying at times as there are several reminders to upgrade to their paid Homeshield plan which I personally do not plan to do.. It is redundant to other services I already use to protect passwords, and my network. There are some interesting options include parental controls, a blacklist option, the ability to set up a Guest network, and support for both 2.4 Ghz and 5.0 Ghz bands (some current products only operate on 2.4 Ghz). Also, WPS connectivity is supported. Their is also a Help option on the app. After installation, I tested by connecting and using the devices which are located farthest from the router and where I had seen weak signals using the previous mesh system. I noticed a significant improvement - almost all bars in the most remote locations. I will have to spend some time to reconnect several devices. I will gladly do so. I am very happy with the performance of this mesh system as it represents a noticeable improvement over what I had before.

The Deco AX4300 does what you would expect: provides excellent signal strength throughout your house (even through closed doors) and gives you the speeds your ISP says you should be getting. I'm using this mesh set with Fidium Fiber. Seeing consistent 800-900 Mbps (down and up) on the few WiFi 6 capable devices I have. I've got a 2015 Lenovo desktop wired to one of the access points at the far end of the house and still get around ~600 Mbps up and down. Yah, TP-Link has a hit. The ONLY thing I wish I could do is run speed tests using the Deco app like I could with Google WiFi. The Deco app loads quickly enough and I like the ability to pick which bands broadcast (2.5 GHz, 5 GHz or both); makes it very nice if you having issues connected WiFi enabled items which typically utilize the 2.5 GHz band. Product price has dropped another $50 since I purchased making this a bit of a no brainer upgrade.

These are amazing! SUPER stable wifi, no random dropping. I bought two sets of these, one set for me and one for my in-laws. I originally bought a LinkSys Wifi 6e mesh system, but found the 6e backhaul aspect unstable; that and random wifi drops and reconnects. Probably because currently 6e range isn't too great. This is just using an extra 5ghz wifi6 radio for it's backhaul, which has more range than 6ghz. NOTE: It's still better if you can used wired-backhaul for your mesh nodes, like with a powerline adapter or moca adapter. Anyway, super impressed and HIGHLY recommend.

Excellent product! I had problems with my range inside the house. I've tried other products but no luck. My router wouldn't even extend to the next room. I decided to give deco a try and happy I did The main is in my centrally located in my office, totally replacing my old router. I added # 2 in my she shed #3 in my garage. All is perfect, in fact now I have reach all the way to property line, 2.5 acres away from deco. No more buffering. I can use wifi calling and stream at the same time. First time that's ever happened in my 25 years of living here. I'd give this 10 stars if I could.

Easy to set up and use! I used to do networking by trade so I was ready to configure these but there's nothing to it... It's a set and forget method of getting the wireless mesh up and just works. I have fiber internet and these things rock for my house's 'bonus room' upstairs. I was having issues getting WiFi signal across and upstairs but these things solved it well. I have had some slight issues after months of use with traffic drops/slowdowns but a restart fixed it immediately and it's only happened once or twice in the whole time I've owned them. The Ethernet port is an amazing option too for putting my xbox in the living room on a hard line as the WiFi connectivity of that model of xbox is... not..the best. The only con is the price. They're worth it now that I have them installed... but I wasn't so sure looking at the price tag in the store.

    Amazing mesh router!

I have to say, this router has exceeded my expectations on so many levels! Previously I was using a Nest mesh router and always felt that I wasn’t really getting the speeds I thought I should be getting. I decided to give this a try and see if I could get better results. Out of the box, this was fairly easy to set up. Although, for people with not-so-great technical knowledge, you may struggle a bit. The setup instructions were not as clear as they could have been in my opinion. For example, it never says that you can use any of the 3 modules as your main one. I was trying to find if one was different than the other or it one was labeled as the main one, but they weren’t. I just grabbed one at random and set it up and it became the main one. I can see people getting confused by that. Also, once you get the main one set up, there are no instructions about how to set up the other 2 modules. I went to the help section online only to find that this model of router is not even listed on the website. I’m sure this is because it’s a fairly new product and eventually there will be better help instructions on the website. With a little trial and error, I eventually got all 3 modules set up in the mesh configuration and I placed them around my house. If you have the same problem, just hit the + in the upper right-hand corner of the app and select Decos to add the other 2 modules like you did for the first one. With my old router I was getting about 200 Mbps on a good day when I was fairly close to the router or an access point. That drastically dropped off to 100Mbps or below the further away you got from the router. With this one I was amazed to see that on wireless pretty much anywhere in my house I was consistently getting about 300Mbps. This is using Spectrum internet in a 2400 square foot home (2 level, 1200 square feet on each level). The only place I had an issue was when I went out into my attached garage. That caused the signal to significantly drop and I’m really not sure why. Since I rarely use wifi in my garage I didn’t worry about it. Even going outside in the front yard or backyard (both are fairly small) I was able to get between 200-300Mbps. With a hard-wired connection, I am getting around 320-340Mbps, so the wireless is pretty much just as strong as a hard-wired connection anywhere in my house. Another thing I love about these is that on each module there is 3 ethernet ports so you can hard wire devices into the access points if you choose to do so. One 2.5Gbps and two 1Gbps ports. I have a home office in the basement where I have to have a wired connection to my work computer so this works great for that! There are also lots of parental controls that you can use to monitor and limit internet usage. You can also easily see what devices are connected to each module and prioritize certain devices if you need to. There is also a way to set up a guest network if you need one as well. There are also lots of advanced features to tweak and customize these as much as you need to. Overall, I absolutely love this system. I think the instructions could be improved to make it easier for people who aren’t very tech savvy though. It would also be nice to see these offered in different colors to fit in with different decors. I have a room that has darker colors in it and the white kind of sticks out like a sore thumb. So maybe a darker color like black or blue would be nice for areas like that. I would still highly recommend picking these up if you want to get the most out of your internet service, You wont be disappointed!

Bought this to replace a single point wi-fi router that kept dropping coverrage to my standby generator. The ability to locate a sattelite module closer to the generator's location solved the problem. We no longer have signal strength issues, coverage throughout the house and backyard are much improved. Especially liked the ease of installation, the abiity to monitor my network via cellphone app and the increase in network nodews available.

Does what it should especially for the price point, doesn't lose much bandwidth over wireless back haul. But If I could choose I would have just saved for the XE75 Pro Set as triband helps out a lot with wireless back haul speeds. All in all great for the price point but if you can save just a little more get the XE75 Pro

The Deco AX4300 Wi-FI 6 system is an excellent system. Setup was very easy and straightforward and the Wifi coverage and speeds are fantastic all throughout my home. My house is approximately 2500 sq ft. This system is advertised to cover 7000 sq ft so I don’t necessarily think I need all 3 connected, but I do have all 3 connected. They are nicely designed and aesthetically pleasing. I have one upstairs in my game room, one downstairs in my living room, and one downstairs in my master bedroom. Upon setup they all required a firmware update. A lesson I learned, hook all of them up before you do the firmware update so it will do all three at once instead of updating them individually. I had to reboot 3 times. The speeds I get in my home are fantastic no matter where I am at which is very nice. That being said, I do occasionally have dropouts and I’m not sure if it’s because I have too much coverage or not. I have not tested with just two yet. I was able to setup static DHCP reservations with ease and have all of my devices named correctly. It took me a couple of hours to identify everything but now everything is labeled correctly. I did notice the app kind of lags behind when showing connected devices. I reduced the review by 1 star due to the drop outs as well as the app. The app is nice but I feel like it is slow in detecting when devices come online or not. I also don’t like the fact that I cannot control the security in the Homeshield Pro subscription. It looks like it runs off its own database and there is 0 control with the exception of blacklisting sites. I’m use to coming from an open-source platform with tons of control so this is a change for me. At the same time, this is geared more toward the average home user so that is understandable. Overall, this is a great system and I would definitely recommend it.

Huge improvement over my good by aging network. Having recently moved into a three-story townhouse, I needed a node on each floor since hardwire is impractical here. Rock solid, easy to set up and as usual takes a while to really know your way around it and the app for best results. Painless. And they look good, perfectly acceptable for open tabletop use unlike most of these devices. Everything is now faster, browsing best of all. A keeper.

Found out about "mesh" wifi and went with this product- tp link 4300 and it has been phenomenal. I have consistent speeds across my home, front, and back yard. I spread the routers evenly across the home and all my devices run smoothly. Setup is simple with the app and you can add more routers and tp link products easily to expand the wifi mesh system further, which is super convenient. One way or another, it's definitely an upgrade from traditional wifi extenders.

I am no techie and I managed to set this up on my own (with a little help from YouTube;). It works way better than the one we were renting from our previous internet provider, which I fought with for months. My printers hooked up fairly easily with this router and that was not the case with the gateway I had before. We have about 50 clients (or devices) hooked up to it and it is working great. So far (two weeks) so good:)

After struggling with the Nest system that would always slow down, I was about to physically wire all my WiFi points together. Before doing that, I gave these a shot. Glad I did! These three routers replaced nine Nest routers and give faster and more consistent speed everywhere in the house. No more dead spots. No more resetting the routers every day. Game changers!
